Här i Vitvattnet håller vi fortsatt jämn hög nivå på filmtittandet. Gissa vad? Eva Rydberg har släppt ett par Fredriksdalare till! Och jag har äntligen fått tag på Oktoberfolket / Ondska i luften / Somthing Wicked This Way Comes på DVD!

Battle Beneath the Earth (1967) [🆓] 📺 Finns gratis och lagligt på YouTube-kanalen "Sci-Fi Central".

Brott i Sol (1947) [👍🔁🆓] 📺 Kan ses gratis på SVT Play fram till och med 8 december. Notera att jag sett detta är en svensk film som jag valt att se om.

Funny Girl (1997) [👍📺🆓🎭] Ännu en Broadway klassiker på Fredriksdal, passa på att se den medan den ligger kvar. :) Man vet aldrig vad TPTB sagt hur länge den får finnas uppe.

Jungle Cruise (2021) [👍] En film avgjort bättre än väntat. En äventyrsfilm av klassiskt snitt som inte är beroende av special effekter för att hålla storyn flytande.

Lorden från Gränden (2009) [👍📺🆓🎭] Claes Malmberg i högform.

Monsterville - The Cabinet of Souls (2015) [👍🔁] R.L. Stines hyllning till klassiska Something Wicked This Way Comes. Fungerar utomordentligt som vikarie när man inte får tag på Disneys klassiker.

Oktoberfolket / Something Wicked This Way Comes (1983) [👍🔁] :Tråcklar på mig den rosa sportoverallen: ÄNTLIGEN!

Point Break (1991) [👍🔁] Behövde vi en remake? Nej. Kommer vi att se remaken? Nej.

Skriet vid Midnatt / House on Haunted Hill (1959) [👍] Med stråk av Agatha Christies "Och så var de bara en" serveras den här klassiska mordgåtan. Trevlig, spännande och jag tror det här är en av de filmer som parodieras i Cluedo-filmerna. Jag såg den på SVT, men den finns även på tuben.

Super Mario Bros. (1993) [👍🔁] En av de mest kreativa science fiction-filmerna som 90-talet födde. Synd att den tyngs av sin logotyp.

Supersnutarna / I Due Superpiedi Quasi Piatti / Crimebusters (1977) [👍] Terrence Hill och Bud Spencer spelar småkriminella som råkar snubbla in i polisskolan och nu desperat försöker få sparken...

Total Recall (1990) [👍🔁] Hade planer på att se om remaken också -- men fick inte rikigt inspiration när det gällde. Den här är dock en klassiker väl värd att se om.

Var God Dröj (2019) [👍🔁📺🆓🎭] Fredriksdals senaste alster som driver med den sjuka situation den svenska sjukvården befinner sig i, utan att för den skullen klanka ned på de som jobbar där.

Jäklar vad med upptummar det blev denna månad! Handplockar ingen film denna månad, utan väljer att puffa lite för SVT Plays filmsektion som haft en hel del intressant på sistone.

So a thought popped into my head. And its about these two creeps:

(If you don’t know who they are, they’re both villains from R.L. Stine’s Monsterville: Cabinet of Souls and The 2019 revival of Are You Afraid of the Dark?, respectively.)

Imagine if these two ever met. They would have so much in common.

Both were immortal evil carnival themes villains who kidnapped children in order to stay the same age. Both were eventually defeated by a blonde teenage girl who wanted to protect her friends and who were immune to their evil powers.

I wonder if they would rant over their young foes or brag about them. Cause, let’s be honest, both men had some level of respect for the girls. Hysteria wanted Beth to join his family because she had such a strong will and Tophat changed his mind about killing Rachel because she remembered him, something no other person outside of his carnival could do. And honestly, during the finale, I half expected him to ask her to join him as his daughter due to her ability to remember him.

So, in conclusion, if it weren’t for the fact they belonged to different companies and Monsterville came out back in 2015, they would have made a great crossover evil team, especially since their respective groups, R.L. Stine and his Goosebumps series and Are You Afraid of the Dark, were great kids shows.
