Soft light, cold snow // I've always loved orange lighting on snowy environments, and I felt like it was time to make my own! // I started with a greyscale version of the artwork (poly lasso tool is your friend), added a gradient map and lighting and ended up with an environment I'm happy with!

T'was a cold night out here. I just made to this rather small establishment after trudging through the heat and cold of this barren landscape. I walked in with no shoes and got into an argument with the shop owner about the lack of any footwear. My boots, or what was left of them, were so wore the my bare feet were more than noticeable. Apparently, they don't allow strangers with no pay or shoes inside. After we had a lively debate, I choose to stay outside and find a spot to rest. As I was about to lose hope, I guess a girl at this place called a "cafe" saw me wonder around and wanted to help, because she came out with an old rag, some food, and a couple of coffee. She wonder who was I and why am I here. "I'm a stranger looking for a future in this world" was all I can say through the exhaustion. I don't know if my real identity was worth sharing. Eventually, she said that I can rest here for the night. I had no plans where to go, but I must head toward where those cars are heading. I'll need a means to get around, but until then, I'll enjoy this rather warm beverage I was given along with my small meal before I get some sleep. I noticed that @jlbriere was doing November Sketch commissions and asked if I can do some. Though she didn't have a list, I decided to go through her com spread sheet and noticed one called "Lukewarm Gas Station Coffee." While I initially wanted to a scene with Pri, I decided to make part of Bastet's story by creating this scene. A fun chance to draw and write a story that invokes a special mood. I did it before this pic, so why not another one.

(Maybe I should do a depression era AU with her just to use this freight train.) Enjoy!!!
