While episode one ('Little My Moves In') is a "sitcom-y set-up of uninvited guests and sibling rivalry", Huckerby reveals that "the tone does develop over the episodes". Adds Ostler, "you see some sort of growth in Moomintroll across the episodes, in quite a subtle way." Meanwhile, season two will tackle the heart-breaking opus that is Moominpappa at Sea. "It's really about a guy in a midlife crisis," says Ostler of the story, which will span several episodes. The fact that it’s all of them suggests to me that they are escaping some danger, like the volcano and/or another flood or hell even the comet, since it is weird for all of them to just decide to go on an adventure together in this new series. It’d be nice if that’s all it is, though! Though it really looks like Pappa’s the one who dragged them all there - why?? Is this the beginning of his midlife crisis before the Moominpappa at Sea episodes?
