okay but i think we need to talk more about these lyrics from episode one of ofmd

because they literally sum up ed and stedes entire season one storylines

ed effectively kills blackbeard the second he calls out 'act of grace ', if not way before. blackbeard has been his identity, his life, his protection for so many years, and yet when stede is in danger he doesn't even hesitate. he comes back, knowing he'll be captured, knowing they can't beat the spanish, but at least they'll be together. he comes back just to surrender because being captured and letting blackbeard die is a better fate than leaving stede to die

"you can't be blackbeard without your black beard." "come on, mate. that's all over."

edward killed blackbeard for stede and he didn't even mind

"you really don't have to do this" "yeah i know i don't"

and then do i even have to explain stede literally faking his own death and legally killing stede bonnet to go find ed? he gave up everything, his name, his home, his wealth, his family, all for ed. and he did it gladly, with a smile on his face

and now in season two he's looking for ed, even after being warned that ed will kill him

he's looking for the man who might murder him because to him it's worth the risk

blackbeard died so ed could be with stede

stede bonnet died so that the gentleman pirate could be with ed

but now the kraken is here, and who knows what he'll do

Another random pick-up from Psychotron Records is this weird collection from Moondog, who was this blind, homeless jazz musician who allegedly used to stroll around New York creating music out of trash whilst wearing a viking helmet...

You may already know his work from samples by people like Mr Scruff or The Wiseguys; which is where i first knew him from. I had an old file of MP3s with his 'popular' tracks but saw this and figured i would give it a go, even though there are no tracks on there that i recognised. Pete even warned me that it was a bit weird, but that just makes me want it even more.

It's only about 40 mins long and apart from one spoken word track, its all just made up of jazz rhythms that sound like they are being played on old pots and pans to a crowd of beatniks... and if you know me then you know i'm all in for that!
