Apollo 11--The Dish

So, in honor of the anniversary of the moonlanding, I'd like to share a little-known movie that I saw back when it came out in 2000 that I feel did not get anywhere near the recognition that it deserved: The Dish.

So, the premise, based on a true story, is that when Apollo 11 landed on the moon, the only satellite dish in the Southern hemisphere that could track it was in the middle of a sheep paddock in Parkes, Australia.

One of the things I loved about this movie is that for a lot of the news and moonlanding footage, rather than recreate it, they used actual footage that was broadcast and recorded at the time (in 1969).In case you're wondering how much of this movie is embellishment and how much is true, here's a fact versus fiction from the Australia Telescope National Facility:

Hindenburg es el nombre del dirigible alemán más famoso. Una especie de barco volador, un aerostato que, por efecto del principio de Arquímedes, se mantiene en vuelo. Hay algo más liviano que el aire, el Hidrógeno, por ejemplo, que sirve para que un globo se mantenga a flote. El famoso dirigible tenía 250 metros de largo, podía cruzar los océanos a 500 metros sobre el agua, navegando el aire a 135 km por hora, llevando ciento cincuenta pasajeros repartidos entre camarotes, cubiertas y salas de mando.

El nombre de ese majestuoso dirigible fue en honor a Paul von Hindenburg, presidente del Imperio Alemán desde 1925. Aunque se oponía a las ideas del nacionalsocialismo, disolvió el parlamento y accedió a nombrar jefe de gobierno al dirigente de la fuerza política que había ganado las elecciones parlamentarias: Adolf Hitler. Hindenburg muere, a los 86, y Hitler asume el poder como jefe de estado. Era 1934. Ese mismo año, un jovencísimo Albert Speer era nombrado primer arquitecto del Imperio Alemán. Speer, como Von Braun, también provenía de una familia de aristócratas y seguía, con la arquitectura, los pasos de su padre y de su abuelo.

“Solo tenía veintiocho años —dice Speer en sus memorias— y me sentía lleno de ganas de trabajar”. El joven arquitecto se veía a sí mismo como el protagonista de la novela de Goethe, como Fausto, él también habría vendido su alma por cumplir el sueño de construir un gran edificio, Speer decía que había encontrado en Hitler a su Mefistófeles.

De los muchos proyectos de remodelaciones y construcciones que Albert Speer llevó adelante, hubo uno en particular, inacabado, que es la mostración de una época megalómana: el nuevo proyecto —cuya conclusión estaba prevista para 1950— no se podría comparar ni siquiera con el legendario Palacio de Nerón. Al majestuoso palacio imperial se ingresaría desde el parque, ubicado en el centro Berlín y a través de un gran portal al Patio de Honor que mediría una hectárea. Desde ese patio, que comunicaba con otros dos, rodeados de columnas, se llegaba a las salas de recepción, que se abrían a una serie de estancias alineadas a lo largo de un cuarto de kilómetro hasta llegar a la sala de la Cancillería. El emperador podría ofrecer así unos cuantos metros de caminata: recorrido y reflexión a los diplomáticos extranjeros que lo visitaran. La sala de recepción de la Casa Blanca de Washington tiene unos 5oo m2, el Palacio que Speer proyectó para el Imperio Alemán medía 21.000. En el comedor habrían podido sentarse a la mesa dos mil comensales. La residencia ocuparía dos millones de metros cuadrados.

Seis meses después de la derrota del Equipo del Eje y luego de que el Equipo de los Aliados pulverizara a 246 mil personas en Hiroshima y Nagasaki, el arquitecto de Hitler —como se lo conoció a Albert Speer— fue llevado a juicio por un Tribunal Militar del Equipo de los Aliados. Según Wikipedia, las imputaciones a los jerarcas nazis pueden clasificarse en crímenes contra la paz (dirección, preparación, desencadenamiento y desarrollo de una guerra de agresión o de una guerra en violación de los acuerdos internacionales); crímenes de guerra (el asesinato, los malos tratos o la deportación para trabajos forzados, o cualquier otro fin, de poblaciones civiles de los territorios ocupados, el asesinato o malos tratos a prisioneros de guerra o náufragos, la ejecución de rehenes, el saqueo de bienes públicos o privados, la destrucción innecesaria de ciudades, o la devastación no justificada por exigencias militares); crímenes contra la humanidad (el asesinato, el exterminio, la reducción a la esclavitud, la deportación y todos los demás actos inhumanos cometidos contra poblaciones civiles, antes o durante la guerra, o las persecuciones por motivos políticos, raciales o religiosos).

The article tells - the gravitational waves can move by high velocity motion and can produce A Light Beam– that proves a massive motion energy is found in the solar system and this motion energy can produce a light beam (I claim the gravitational waves are produced by the planets motions energies and not by any gravitational field)

There are relativistic effects found in the planets data– and these relativistic effects prove the existence of the high velocity motion.
