This is probably the most complete as well as one of the better quality uploads of the 1.x quest "Futures Perfect" that I've seen.

The Path Companion was a partner for the WoL, someone to make and give commentary during the storyline. They were customizable like a retainer; you chose their race/gender (of the available 1.0 options), class, and personality type. They were also Ala Mhigan originally, with a (variable) relative in the Resistance.

The WoL is defended, and spoken to at the end, by their starter city archon (this is during the Circle of Knowing/Path of the Twelve era, as the Scions were formed by combining the organizations after the Calamity).

This is also the introduction of Gaius van Baelsar as an imperial enemy; going forward there were scenes that include him shooting Cid for being angry and insulting, and also talking to WoL about how Gaius disagrees with Nael van Darnus's plans and the Meteor Project. But here, he crushes the Resistance's operation and gets into a fight with the archons--that only ends when he calls in an airstrike, sending WoL into a brief Echo vision before returning home to get medical aid for their companion.

Mor Dhona was rich in pockets of strange aether. Tapping into those wells of Aether were not advised but Mizuki was curious if she could tap into those wells and harness it.

She had studied aether enough...and to understand the potential side effects. One of the main ones: it could trigger an explosion.

But what is knowledge without a little risk. Mizuki had made sure there was nobody too close to where she was.

If she could harness it or potentially trap the aether into small crystals. She would never have to worry about running out of aether in more dangerous battles: not that she depleted her aether that often, her well of aether was deep.

It would be beneficial for people like Thancred who was unable to use magick anymore. He could use the stored aether to enchant his own bullets. So it wasn't just her that it would help.

So far no explosions. Though it would only take one misstep for it to all go horribly wrong.

Thankfully Y'shtola wasn't in the area or she would notice the change in the flow of aether and Mizuki would be scolded for attempting something so dangerous. Not that Y'shtola could talk about 'safety' after quite literally throwing herself into the aetheric sea.

Castrum Novum

We've taken a look at it before (mispelling and all in original post), but now we're inside. Let's take a look at this. Castrum Centri, as it is in ARR, was this Garlean stronghold, and it looked impressive with all sorts of machines and a techno-look and feel.

In 1.0...as predicted from, well, everything else, not so much.

Inside the castrum...there's nothing. There's not even a ground. In ARR, you're walking on basically metal. Here, it's just ground. You have a wall, and some boxes, and a stray campfire for some reason. There were parts with ground showing, yes, but there was a metallic walkway running through parts of the castrum.

And no campfires! Well, that's not true. Outside the Castrum in ARR, there's a deserter Garlean you can play cards with who is sitting next to a campfire. But there are none in the grounds itself.

Here's a better look at the boxes. These are in ARR as well, and they look about the same. Sorry for the darkness of the pictures, by the time I was over there, it was night time. But that's all they were, only boxes. So even an extravagant set piece, like a Garlean stronghold, still amounted to something not ultra exciting. And this was an end game area, by the way. As far as I know, this is the only Garlean stronghold in 1.0, and the Garleans were the main baddie in 1.0. This is where you go to test your skills.

But other than combat, nonexistant in this private server, it's...nothing.
