Buck works a different shift because an old friend is visiting him so they’re going to meet up at a bar for drinks and OF COURSE we have some jelly Eddie because both of them are pining hella hard.

Because I’m obsessed, here’s a little bit of jealous Eddie because I love him 💕

“Oh, that’s cool.” Eddie doesn’t sound like he thinks it’s cool at all.

“Don’t worry, Eddie— you’re still my best friend.” Buck offers his wrist and Eddie rolls his eyes, but knocks his own wrist against Buck’s. Whatever weird tension that had been building between them dissipates with the action.

At the bar a guy gives buck some unwanted attention and it leads to the friend shoving the dude because he’s an asshole and then the mood is meh so buck is like I’m gonna head home and as he’s driving he gets run off the road by a huge truck (can you guess who’s driving?) and theeeeeennnnnnnn i smush hjm 😈😈😈 and for reasons (compound fracture) buck can’t reach his phone and the 118 gets a call for a car crash and well, you can guess who’s car crash theyre responding too >:) there may also be Buddie feelings realization <3

It’s never a big deal - most of the time it’s something along the lines of;

‘Hey, can you grab some milk on your way over? We’re out.’ ‘Yeah, yeah, I got it.’ ‘Great, love you.’ ‘Love you.’

Before long, they’re even doing it in texts.

so the drunk eddie fic is finished! i'm hoping to post it sunday!!! i started a smutty sequel since i didn't think the smut fit into the original but i'm not sure how i feel about it so i might can it. anyway have a lil snip from the sequel that may or may not continue to exist

If Eddie and Buck had been watching the movie that played in the background, they certainly weren’t anymore. Instead they were making out on the couch like a couple of teenagers, the high of getting together still flowing through their veins.

Eddie nipped Buck’s bottom lip, making him open up. He moaned lowly as Eddie dominated his mouth, letting out a soft sigh as Eddie cupped his cheek.

“Should we—” Buck said in-between kisses, Eddie letting him up for air so he could get his words out. “Should we slow down?”

Eddie pulled back, licking his lips. “Do you want to slow down?”

“No,” Buck shook his head vigorously.

“Then we’re good,” Eddie smiled, his thumb caressing Buck’s cheekbone. “I don’t want to slow down either. I think we’ve waited long enough.”

“Well, when you put it that way,” Buck grinned, pushing at Eddie’s shoulder so he was sitting with his back against the couch instead of turned. Buck swung his leg over Eddie’s lap and straddled him, grinding against him and making Eddie moan.

Finally Eddie clicked on Chimney’s contact and put the phone up to his ear as it rang.

“Hello?”

Eddie was of course expecting to hear Chimney’s voice but he was surprised when instead he heard Maddie’s.

“Oh, hey Maddie, it’s Eddie,” He stumbled, not quite slurring his words but it was clear he wasn’t exactly sober. “Sorry, I was just calling to talk to Chim about something.”

“Sorry he passed out when he got home. He was in the middle of playing tea party with Jee too so he’s currently wearing a tiara and Jee-Yun is doing his makeup. It’s adorable.” Maddie laughed, warmth and love for her family clear in her voice.

Eddie chuckled. “Yeah, we had a long shift today so I’m not surprised.”

“So what’s up? Anything I can help with?” Maddie asked curiously.

“I—” Eddie wasn’t really sure what to say. He couldn’t exactly go into the specifics about his crush to Buck’s sister, could he? If you had asked him while he was sober he would have said absolutely not, but drunk as he was, Eddie began to speak. “It’s Buck.”

do you have buddie fic recs or fics you adore the most?

The easiest thing would probably be to take a look at my 9-1-1 AO3 bookmarks :)

However, if I had to pick just a few favourites I would probably say...

a leaf falls on loneliness by iimpossible_things [I first got into 9-1-1 fanfic because I didn't like how the ladder truck/lawsuit storyline was resolved in the show. Unfortunately, I found that it was difficult to find fic that explored it in a nuanced way - this fic is the exception and it's probably the best exploration of that era that I've ever read.]

Buck's lack of baby steps by knittersrevolt [As you can tell from my fics, I love fics that have a good mix of Buddie and found family, and this one has some really fun found-family scenes.]

don't let the tide come and wash us away by writerforlife [There were a lot of Buck-breakdown fics written after S5 - this one was my favourite.]

Leave the Light On, I'll be Coming Home by HMSLusitania [I don't usually read presumed dead fics but this one - the angst, the way Buck deals with the Diazes, Buck and Christopher as father/son, the emotional payoff at the end... stunning]

I Hate Accidents (Except When We Went From Friends To This) by morganofthefairies [Just absolutely hilarious. If you enjoy Buck and Eddie being oblivious himbos in the mortifying ordeal, I feel like you will definitely enjoy this one.]

A cavern opens up in Dean’s chest. He turns to Patience. Her eyebrows are drawn together, but she keeps looking ahead, as if the birds rustling in the tangled shrubs of the empty lot are of pivotal importance. 

Dean doesn’t answer, but apparently she wasn’t expecting him to. “Sometimes I just get a feeling,” she continues. “Sometimes I can see wisps of the future hanging around a person, and I know something big is going to happen to them.
