Cartman

• Would absolutely suggest doing something vaguely racist, but dw y’all don’t… even if you have to physically shove Cartman into the bathroom to change. He’s probably pissed about it the whole night tbh

• Probably makes you go as a KFC chicken bucket while he’s the Colonel Sanders because he genuinely will not shut the fuck up until you agree to it. It was so stupidly embarrassing

• He would most definitely force you to go to a party so he could show everyone y’alls costumes before dragging you out to go do other things. He really just wanted to brag and embarrass you

• Cartman will absolutely make you go trick or treating with him despite y’alls ages, and y’all stay out sooooo late that people aren’t even out anymore. He refuses to end the night until he hits up everyone’s house and demands all the candy they have

• At the end of the night you guys stop by the dollar and grocery stores to buy all the cheap Halloween candy that’s on sale. Don’t worry you’ll get your cut on the candy too, it’s just a bit… smaller than his cut

Stan

• Stan doesn’t really care enough about Halloween to plan to dress up or literally anything, but if you insist he’ll probably throw something together quickly

• You guys go as Sally and Jack but his part of it is really half assed, he still looks good tho!! It’s just, a lot people couldn’t tell who he was as at first. He probably got so drunk he couldn’t even remember

• Speaking of getting drunk, he throws a costume party because you insisted on doing something for Halloween. You asked, he delivers! Everyone’s there, even people from straight up other neighboring towns. People hear alcohol and and will do whatever to get it

• An almost concerning rowdy party and it wasn’t even from the party goers! It was from Randy swinging on the Chandelier and supplying all the alcohol. Overall a really memorable night… well to most of the people who went

• Like father like son, neither Stan or Randy could remember anything from last night but regardless, they had an unspoken agreement. Never tell Sharon and never speak of it ever again, the night never happened. Well, the pictures you took definitely say otherwise

Kyle

• Sheila insists on buying y’all’s costumes and she gets y’all some peanut butter and jelly costume. Kyle absolutely hates it but he would never tell his mother, thank god he has a job so he could buy something else and just change when you guys leave

• Y’all actually end up going as Morticia and Gomez Addams even though Kyle in general looks a little too colorful to be Gomez cough cough GINGER cough cough but regardless, he tries his best to slick his hair back and hunch over more so he could be shorter than you. It doesn’t work but it’s the thought that counts right?

• Half way through the night hall switched costumes because you didn’t wanna wear heels too long and he wouldn’t have to because of how tall he is. Shelley let him use her hair straightener and you’re pretty sure you burnt off some of his hair but it’s tooooootally fine, absolutely fine (he doesn’t know)

• Kyle was honestly kind of miserable the whole night, he didn’t really WANT to be there but you begged him to do something with you and Halloween and Stan would’ve dragged him to the party regardless if you asked him to go or not

• Though I suppose you asking really did help, he might’ve just bailed when he heard there was alcohol. Despite everything… he makes a really good Morticia but that was mainly because he was tall and would do the tango with you if you asked

Kenny

• KEN AND BARBIE YOU SAY? I THINK SO!!!!!!! It’s hard to find something in his closet but he ends up trying to spray paint his parka bright pink and writing “I am Kenough” in black sharpie. Oh that poor, poor parka

• You had to physically force him not to try throwing together some haphazard dick costume that he wanted to use soooo bad. He tried to hard to convince you that you guys should go as a dick and sperm

• Thank god you guys didn’t, y’all ended up taking Karen trick or treating for a couple hours and she went dressed as a lil skeleton!!! It was the cutest thing ever, kinda stuff to make your heart melt

• After Karen got tuckered out y’all went to the party, might I add just in time to watch Randy scream and hang from the chandelier in only underwear. Honestly it was a lot funnier than it should’ve been, the man was stuck up there the rest of the night with you both passing up bottles of liquor to him

• Very memorable night for everyone involved, and somehow everyone knew what you guys were dressed as!! I suppose the bright pink and “I’m Kenough” really helped

Butters

• Would also suggest something racist but he doesn’t really know it, at least you give him better ideas so y’all don’t end up coming off weird

• Y’all would totally end up going as Joker and Harley Quinn, it’s completely overdone and cringe but y’all still go as them. Green hair and shirtless and EVERYTHING! His parents don’t like it at all and he ended up getting grounded later

• God you guys are sooooo cringe together, like y’all quote Harley Quinn and Joker stuff the whole night if y’all go to a Halloween/costume party. Multiple people will gag and throw up in their mouths. Multiple

• He’s the type to go to the party with you and almost have a heart attack because of the music, he would be paranoid that his parents would ground him for hearing such music. Somehow they did and they weren’t even there to hear it 😭

• You suggested going trick or treating but Butters was convinced he’s too old for it and his parents would def ground him for being out too late with someone as pretty as you. After a lot of convincing you got him to hit up a couple houses with you before you guys went home, the old people were very confused

Re: overall tumblr top 10: I think it’s funny that my throwaway moodboards are often some of the most popular content on my blog. Things I’m just like ‘ooh I gotta make this’ are mixed in with requests, I think that’s interesting! Ms. Frizzle just blowing away the competition, that’s amazing and I love it. Nothing is even close to how popular she is, and she deserves it. Jack Skellington coming onto the list twice? Come through king, I would love to write a full fic in Halloweentown sometime.

Generally, the more ‘alternative’ characters seem to get a lot more attention on my blog: The Pumpkin King, Morticia, Wybie, Sundrop and Moondrop... Tiana and Naveen really snuck up there though!

Moving onto the more direct fic comparison:

....well this made me realize that I never published my Sanders Sides fics from this blog on AO3, whoops

Setting that aside, fics with angst and plot tend to do better on AO3, while fluffy stories do better on tumblr: Sugary Sweet doesn’t even hit my top 10 on AO3 and it’s one of the fluffiest fics I’ve ever written, coming in at #5 on the tumblr list

On the other hand, Only Heaven I’ll Be Sent To is by far one of my best performing fics on AO3, but comes in at number 6 (tied with another fic) on tumblr, probably because it features a lot of action and gore alongside the fluffy agere elements, same for Restrained showing up on the AO3 top but not tumblr’s.

My Harry Potter fics do way better on tumblr, which is interesting? Maybe Harry Potter fans are still reading their fics on independent forums? Or Harry Potter folks on AO3 don’t cross over much with the agere crowd. (Or maybe they’re just overloaded with /reader fics) I haven’t been actually into the HP community since around 2011 so I’m not sure what’s up there.

Big shoutout to Class Outing for dominating the top of both lists: BNHA is such a big fandom that it makes sense, and I wrote that fic on @agere-fandom-time, which I think got more interaction than this blog: it seems like people are more comfortable interacting with a group-run blog, rather than an individual writer. Or maybe that’s a natural consequence of more writers putting out more consistent content, letting the blog get bigger. I’m not sure! Either way, even if I’m not into BNHA anymore, I feel like it’s a good piece of my writing, so I’m happy for it to be my top spot.

1. What made you ship it?

They're literally husbands, what more do I have to say /j. No but fr tho, I think it was just... their potential dynamic??? The fact that they're both over-the-top villains and I thought they'd be really good together right from the start. Also fan content, there's so much amazing dukeceit content in this fandom XD

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

So many things... they just have an unparalleled aesthetic, I kinda see them as having a Gomez and Morticia vibe.

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

Speaking of the Gomez and Morticia vibe, I like to think they give compliments in the same kinda weird way. In the kind of "you look like death" "aw thanks babe" kinda way (this goes for anxceitmus too btw).

The unpopular opinion part of this has to do with the evil twin comment. I think Janus and Remus call themselves evil and such things as a joke, so I don't think he'd be too bothered about it really.

Prinxiety - Ship it

1. What made you ship it?

Prinxiety was the first Sanders Sides ship that I actually shipped, and I was really into it for all of one week lol (I do still like them now, there r just other ships I prefer). I think it's because Roman and Virgil had the most fun dynamic right from the start. Roman was the first character Virgil interacted with (unless you count C!Thomas) and I do love enemies to lovers!

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

I think mostly how far they've come from where the used to be. They used to despise each other, but now they're besties and they helped set Thomas up with Nico together.

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

Idk if this counts as unpopular, but I kinda prefer their platonic dynamic to actually shipping them?? If I think of them being in a relationship, it's more like best friends who make out sometimes

robbe and sander but they are like Morticia and Gomez from the Addams family.

Sander takes another sip of his beer, finding it hard to look anywhere else but at that one guy across the room. He smiles a lot, and he’s the first guy ever to have a mustache and a full costume and still looks so mesmerizing. His black suit fits him perfectly, and the stripes give it that extra interest. His hair is too thin so the Gomez hairstyle is already gone but he doesn’t seem to care.

“Stop staring.” Britt says, not looking too happy to still be here, hanging out with her ex-boyfriend.

“Huh?” Sander asks, not bothered to stop staring but he does look at Britt’s annoyed face for a split second, shaking her half empty glass to see if that turns her drink more enjoyable.

“His name is Robbe, he’s Jens’ best friend.”

“Who’s Jens?” Sander forces himself to really pay attention now that he knows she has information about the guy. Robbe.

“You’re fucking joking me.”

Sander connects the dots, adjusting his long black wig that’s falling too much for the right.

“Oh. Jens Jens. Your other ex.” He nods his head, noticing that Robbe is almost done with his beer too.

“Yes. And Robbe is with Noor.” Britt comments matter-of-factly.

“What? No, he’s not.” He looks at her, still pretending that whatever she and Noor have is a dirty, deeply hidden secret. Britt rolls her eyes, blushing a little even in this dark, sort of smoky room. Sander only knows about it because right as they were ending things, maybe they had a fun conversation with Noor over some beers at his place that only didn’t go any further than hot kisses and sneaky hands because Sander knew Britt would take anything that could happen there way too seriously. Thinking now, staring at a stranger across the room like he’s the whole universe, Sander thinks he still believes in soulmates.

As the boy laughs, throwing his head back, with his empty hand on the shoulder of the tall guy right next to him, Sander notices him leaving the empty bottle on the shelf behind him as he moves and Sander follows.

They meet in an empty kitchen, late at night, dressed as Morticia and Gomez at a Halloween party.

Robbe has his back to the door, checking inside the fridge, quietly moving his hips according to the beat of the loud music. Sander steps closer to the tiny kitchen island, looking through his lashes at the boy, hearing when the glass of a brand new beer clicks as he’s grabbing it.

“Hm, can I get one too?” He decides to ask, standing up straight and Robbe does the same but faster, unaware of Sander’s presence until then. He smiles as an apology, feeling his whole body warming up from inside out just because Robbe is finally aware of his existence.

“Oh, yeah…yeah!” He smiles, showing every teeth and Sander is certain love at first sight is a real thing. Robbe grabs another bottle and finally closes the fridge, putting both bottles on the island.

“Can I open for you?”

Robbe nods his head, holding Sander’s gaze, making his knees weak. He carefully holds one bottle and opens it against the corner of the island, offering it to Robbe. His hand is on the neck of the bottle, leaving more than enough space for Robbe, but he grabs it right where their fingers sort of have to touch to not let the bottle fall.

“Thanks…” Robbe laughs shyly, drinking a tiny sip of his beer. “Sorry, I don’t know your name…”

“Sander. And Britt told me you’re Robbe..?”

Robbe frowns slightly when he mentions her and Sander wonders if Britt’s lovely grumpy mood is known by him too.

“I asked her your name…” He explains himself.

“Yeah, yeah, I’ve seen you two talk.” Robbe nods his head, a little shy to admit he noticed Sander before this conversation but Sander is glad, more confident and happy to know that Robbe had noticed him before.

They’re still strangers, even though Sander wishes that wasn’t the case but they run out of random things to say for a minute, just quietly stealing glances at each other while drinking their beer in silence, in a still completely empty kitchen in the middle of a buzzing house party.

“I could never grow my hair out this long.” Robbe points at Sander’s long wig of straight, black hair. It’s a lot messier now after a long train ride and a few hours inside a small apartment but Sander is still confident in his costume, especially because it fits with Robbe’s.

“Me neither. I’m way too impulsive sometimes. And, by the experience I’m having tonight, it would bother me too much.” He smiles and keeps his gaze on Robbe’s face. He has the most beautiful, unique features that Sander has ever seen and his hand twitches, craving to draw him already to keep this memory on his brain forever.

Robbe laughs shyly, nodding his head again, seems to be a thing he does often, “Yeah, I get it. Even though my hair is a little longer than most guys…I guess I can be impulsive too…or maybe impulsive it’s not the word, more like…I can get more brave sometimes, when” He lifts his bottle and shakes it a little bit, “some more of these are in my system.”

Sander smiles again at him because it seems like it’s the only thing he can do and he nods his head, and they both drink a slow sip of their respective beers, staring deep into each other’s eyes.

“Can I take a picture of you?” He blurts out before he can hold himself back from the thought. What if Robbe is just being nice and they’ll never see each other again? Sander has a photographic memory but still doesn’t seem like it’ll make justice to Robbe’s actual perfection.

“Hm…a picture of me?” He laughs, and Sander is taken back, wishing he could hear him laugh forever. It’s the softest, most honest sound he’s ever heard. “Why?”

“Just because.”

“Because…?” Robbe teases, lifting his eyebrows, curious, and he points his beer to Sander. “Don’t tell me you’re the type to bring a camera to a dark party.”

Sander bites the inside of his cheek, trying not to smile but Robbe makes it hard. So he carefully puts his hand inside his cleavage, grabbing his disposable camera.

“My camera couldn’t fit anywhere, so I had to improvise.”

“No way!” Robbe walks around the kitchen island and Sander can’t even blink, watching the guy stand right in front of him, way too close if it was any other stranger. He’s a little too happy, holding Sander’s camera now and he doesn’t notice how Sander is frozen, watching every small movement of his, noticing every crack on his white makeup, melting against his skin. Sander wants to touch his skin, to kiss his lips so badly it makes him dizzy and a little bit more forward.

“Just one picture of you, and I’ll leave you alone forever.” He stops himself from promising because he knows it wouldn’t be true.

“What if I don’t want you to leave me alone forever?” Robbe looks up at him and Sander looks at his shiny lips. It’s probably the constant drinking he’s been doing tonight but Sander noticed before how his lips are always a little wet, because he didn’t drink his beer properly or because he tried to fix it by licking his lips.

“Britt told me you’re with Noor…” He tries, not needing to scream over any music now since they’re only a few inches away from each other.

“What if I was…?”

“Don’t wanna be Morticia, the homewrecker.”

Robbe blushes a little bit, still smiling, taking two steps back, holding the camera with his empty hand, carelessly taking a picture of Sander.

“Can we leave now?” Sander asks, drinking half of his beer, hoping it’ll fuel his courage to just steal this boy from whoever it is.

Robbe nods his head. “You don’t want your picture of me?”

Sander nods his head too, still watching Robbe’s every move. “Maybe we’ll end up with a better scenario, better lighting.”

He keeps himself from being too cocky, way too playful and flirty - Robbe might not get it and thinks he’s just a creep - and saying he has high hopes of taking Robbe’s picture in his bed.

Robbe looks elsewhere for the first time since they really saw each other, looking at the party, thinking about his decision and Sander can’t leave without him, sohe continues, “I promise you’ll still have a good night.”

Robbe smiles at him, shaking his head like he’s disapproving of his own way of making this decision.

“Ok, let’s go. You are promising me a good night, Sander.”

“I’ll try to give you the best night of your life, Robbe.”

Mainly because I haven’t seen anyone else bring this up. You know that moment in the asides video where they’re looking at the laptop and see the stickers? Well there was that point that Roman and Virgil see the Nightmare before Christmas sticker and get really excited.

It makes sense that Virgil was excited and at first glance you might assume that Roman was excited about the fact that Nico’s a Disney fan, except he already knew that because the first sticker they saw was a lion king one.

So like, Roman already had confirmation that Nico had an interest in some of his interests before he had that extremely excited moment.

Technically the same could be said for Virgil too, given that Nico had a sticker of a band he likes (Not only have they made Paramore jokes in the series, but Virgil has the song “Ignorance” from the Brand New Eyes album on his playlist.)

And yet, Virgil and Roman became specifically excited at the Nightmare Before Christmas sticker. Why? I think because they were excited for each other. Not only is Nightmare Before Christmas a specifically shared interest of theirs that they both can enjoy earnestly, (rather than fighting about the implied themes like they’ve been shown to do for most Disney movies) but the specific sticker shown is like the epitome of their combined personas as it literally portrays a aesthetically dark romance.

So yeah, the prinxiety themes were pushed hard with this particular episode. However you want to read the relationship, these two have clearly become close over the course of season 2.

It’s also interesting because they’re kind of the most protective of the sides. (I’d generally argue that Janus’ self-preservation is evasive rather than defensive.) Often they were at odds in that protection (and they still are in this episode because Roman was trying to protect c!Thomas from disappointment while Virgil was trying to protect him from embarrassment) however, it’s nice to see that now they’re also protecting each other.

Roman and Virgil Addams were in the greenhouse room of their hauntingly gorgeous home as they went about their business. Virgil was tending to his plants while Roman was playing a game of solitaire. Virgil took great pride in his plants. His favorite being Cleopatra. Cleopatra was a carnivorous African Strangler. Virgil smiled as he finished tending to her. She seemed to like the chicken leg he had given her. He would have to make note of that. He moved on to his patch of poison ivy, checking to make sure it was properly growing. He then moved on to a pot from which sprouted a thick, garland type plant. His newest experiment. He picked the pot up and turned to his husband. "Roman," he started. "Tell me, how does my plant look to you?"

Roman looked over and gasped, his hand flying to the breast of his crimson, gold, and black pinstripe suit. "I don't see a plant," he began as he stared at Virgil. "I see a rare flower, you." Virgil smiled mysteriously, his best impression of the most famous dead person's smile of perhaps all time, Mona Lisa's. "My lovely black orchid."

Virgil glanced down at his plant as a slight blush flushed his pale face. "Oh, Roman, do you really think so?"

"I know so!" Roman replied as he stepped closer.

Virgil glanced up at Roman before sighing. "Why Roman, could you look at my plant for me, I think it looks absolutely dark, what do you think?"

Roman looked down and inspected the plant. "I agree. Although nothing could be as dark as you, with your absolutely dashing suit. Tell me, is that shade perhaps Midnight's Gloom?"

Virgil set his plant down and inspected his own attire. "Oh, this?" He started. "This is Grim Reapers' Robes."

"May I say it looks absolutely stunning on you, Mi Amor."

"Merci."

"Verge!" Roman exclaimed as an irresistible urge zapped up his body like lightning. "That's French!"

Virgil raised an eyebrow as he smiled that smile of his once again. "Oui."

"You know what that does to me!" Roman exclaimed as he quickly pulled Virgil's hand up to place a frantic kiss upon the pale skin before moving up as if to kiss every inch of Virgil's arm. Virgil smiled fondly at his husband. Soon, Roman stopped kissing Virgil's arm and actually kissed his lips instead. The two quickly melted into each other as they always have. Content with their life and maybe craving a little more darkness. Maybe they would send they would have a family vacation at an asylum for a few days.

Sanders Sides/Addams Family au

Because I was listening to the Addams Family Musical don’t question me.

Roman as Gomez, because he’s extra and loves his wife/husband and will do anything to try and please her/him.

Virgil as Morticia, because prinxiety. And you know, it fits, Morticia fits Virgil’s aesthetic and Roman would try very hard to keep Virgil happy.

Patton as Wednesday, because he’s happy and would love his fiancé (Logan because logicallity). It fits but I’m not sure why.

Logan as Lucas, because he would be scared to join Patton because of feelings but then he would come to his senses and realize that he can do whatever he wants. Again, they fit together really well. Also, logicallity.

Deceit as Pugsley, because he tried to get Patton/Wednesday to not leave and just because there have a similar chaotic energy.

Remy/Sleep, though not a side, would be Grandmama, mostly because the potions are basically his coffee.

Thomas as Uncle Fester, though it’s more of a stretch. He’s more of the Narration TM, so he knows what goes on and tries to play matchmaker (And it somehow works). Also, the moon is gay.

Talyn and Joan as Alice and Mal (not necessarily in that order). It somehow fits, I don’t know why. One of them singing Alice’s song ‘Waiting’ would be epic.

Camden as Lurch. This doesn’t need much explaining, it just is.

The background ancestors are maybe Thomas’s Vine Characters or background characters.

Overall, it would be amazing to see them all do the intro too. These characters fit so well together.
