It had been a while since you’d last been to a concert. After lockdown, you found you weren’t the… most outgoing. But it had been a while, and you couldn’t stand sitting alone in your apartment anymore. After hearing about a small gig in a bar downtown, you decided to go there. Nothing like a concert to pull you out of the slump, and at least then, if you got too awkward, you’d be able to have an excuse to not speak. You’d put on a simple outfit, figuring that the low lights in the bar would make dressing up obsolete, and thankfully, you were right. You grabbed a quick drink before making your way into the crowd, settling in slowly. It wasn’t long before you realized the type of show this was. You had no complaints against the music, rock was always a good option when you were feeling it, but it was the crowd that you were unused to. You weren’t used to being around a lot of people in the first place, but it was when people started moshing that concerned you. Again, this wouldn’t have been a problem if it weren’t for how incredibly close everyone was and the lack of air in here and how your clothes were starting to stick to you in that uncomfortable way that sweat tends to cause and-

You took a deep breath. You made a choice to be here, so you just looked back up at the stage and tried to just enjoy yourself for a minute. But before you knew it, more people began moshing near you. The girl who’d been blocking you from the commotion joined in, leaving you at the wall with just about no exit. People starting running into you, and your feet tripped up, and you said a quick prayer in your head that you wouldn’t get hurt as you started being pushed in. You closed your eyes, but the contact never came, aside from a hand grabbing onto your arm and pulling you in the other direction.

You took a breath once you steadied yourself, and you heard someone yelling to you over the sound.

“Are you alright? You almost fell.” You looked up and were met with possibly the most gorgeous brown eyes you’d ever seen. He had you pulled in close, gently holding both of your shoulders.

“Uh, yeah. I-I’m fine, thank you.”

“Of course. You need to be more careful, the mosh pit isn’t exactly a great place to lose your footing.” You laughed softly, looking down and blushing slightly.

“Yeah, I’ll keep that in mind for next time.” He laughed, and it was infinitely better than the music on stage.

“My name’s Wilbur. You don’t come out here often, do you?”

You told him your name in return and shook your head, “I haven’t been out in a long while.”

He nodded softly, grinning, “Well, come on. Let me get you a drink, and check you for any injuries.” He moved you away from the crowd almost seamlessly, probably a product of his height, bringing you back over to the bar. He took a seat and patted the seat next to him. You sat down next to him, and the both of you just ordered waters. “So, you feeling alright? No one stepped on your foot or anything, right?”

You shook your head, “No, I’m fine. Think I got a bit of a scratch, but it’s nothing serious.”

He shook his head, “Nope. I don’t accept that. Show me the scratch.” You rolled your eyes with a soft smile, moving your arm to him to show possibly the smallest scratch along the side of your arm.

He gasped, putting his hand to his forehead, “We have to get you medical attention, stat. No worries, Doctor Malpractice will take care of you.” His antics caused a laugh to erupt out of you, and when you looked back up at him, he was giving you the most wonderstruck gaze. He shook his head for a moment, a red dusting on his cheeks, before looking to the bartender and asking to borrow the first aid kit. Once in his hands, he opened it up, grabbing the most medical looking tools, “Obviously, we need all of these.”

“Wilbur, those are tweezers and fungal cream.”

“Yes, but the more we can protect you against, the better. You’ll be twice as healed.” After a moment of joint laughter, he set down the items and grabbed an alcohol wipe. He gently took ahold of your arm, lightly wiping the scratch down. You hissed softly as he did, “I know, it’s alright, darling, you can do this,” he spoke his soft encouragement. The pet name definitely did something to your brain, effectively distracting you from the stinging feeling. He grabbed the antibiotic cream, lightly putting a generous amount onto the scratch, before carefully wrapping it with the bandage. “There you are. Now, you will survive. I am sure of it. Another satisfied patient.”

You laughed again, smiling quietly up at him for a moment, “Thank you, Wilbur.” He grinned down at you, “It’s no problem, really. You need to be careful, especially with some of the shady people here. Plus, this medical visit was free, but next time, it will cost of you.”

“Oh yeah? And what’ll it cost me?”

“A date.”

Your face flushed red immediately. In a moment perhaps bolder than you, you looked at him, face still burning, and pulled the bandage off. “Oh no,” you said sarcastically, “looks like I need another visit.”

Wilbur was absolutely beaming. He sat up straight, putting a hand on his heart, “I made an oath to always heal people. So I will gladly accept another visit.” He opened his phone, clicking ‘New Contact’ before passing the phone to you. You entered your information while he put a new bandage on. You passed the phone back to him after you put your number in and texted yourself, and he opened your contact, “Hold on, let me get a photo.”

“Have you forgotten my name already?”

He laughed, “No, no! Sorry, I just want to make sure I remember the cute person who nearly fell into a curb stomp. And to make sure, if the bandage falls off again, that we have a good photo for your obituary.”

You blushed a bit, grinning down at your hands, “Fine. But only if I can take a photo of the cute boy who saved me from getting completely bruised, and who may be illegally practicing medicine.” He laughed, grinning widely, and you took that as an excuse to get a photo of him. He was absolutely gorgeous. He gasped once he realized you took the photo of him, holding his phone up and taking one of you back while you laughed at him. You two both grinned at each other like teenagers for a moment before he leaned onto the bar with his arm. “So, about that date then.”

People stopped trying to rec me Metalocalypse when I admitted that the last concert I went to was Carly and formed a gaggle of girls to talk about our favorite kpop idols (we showed a lot of people pictures of Wonho, I have no regrets). This also got a lot of people around me at the barricade to try to like... valiantly protect me from the mosh pit?? Like I was truly being babied at the show and I kept trying ot be like... no, I've done this before, it's okay. Also, I'm 30 and can handle Adult Content and also Men Swinging Around a Circle.

The woman reccing me Good Omens also babied me but she ALSO clocked (?) me as gay because I was hanging out with the dude in drag cosplay... and she probably heard him call me queer and I guess thought "Oh, this is a gentle gay soul" (because I was being very nice to people and telling them if they needed me to duck to get a good photo/vid, I would) and went HARD reccing me Good Omens because "the romance is so good, it's so tragic and romantic, they're so hot and gay" and then when I was like... I'm good, she ALSO rec'd OFMD and I was like "okay, well you like metalocalypse, so YOU should watch black sails if you want gay pirates who can actually fuck shit up."

And then when I realized... we were not going to connect on tht ground and she started talking about fanfiction, I was like... girl, at least read MDZS like I can't help you on the tv front... but I can least redirect you. If I got her number I would've even sent her fic recs like it was dire, it turned into me babying her by the end. I needed to save her and I didn't have enough time

AN IDIOT’S GUIDE TO A HAPPY MARRIAGE by tagteamme. Chapters: 8/8, words: 156,680

Summary: In order to pay off a debt that's not his, Shang Qinghua agrees to marry a man that's as cold and unyielding as he is stupidly rich.

Vod Notes: I’m not normally one for modern AU’s, but there’s just something about aspiring CEO MBJ and flat out broke SQH somehow wiggling his way into his heart that gets to me. The characterizations in this story are flawless, and the customary Moshang miscommunication/misunderstanding had me tearing out my hair at several points, yelling at these two dumbasses; and that’s how you know it’s a good one. 9/10 because I experienced lots of stress while reading this, which actually is a sign of a fantastic story, I’m just really weak and pathetic and immerse myself in reading way too much, so actually 11/10! Depends on how you look at it I suppose lol

a rose by any other name by sarahyyy. Chapters 1/1, words: 6,795

Summary: The one where Shang Qinghua suddenly becomes Prime Demon Marriage Material™ (bc of the LBH/SQQ marriage).

Vod Notes: somft. MBJ just loves SQH so very much, and SQH is pining ad dense as fuck. The perfect Moshang fic recipe. They are warm, soft, clueless idiots in this while still somehow being entirely competent, and we love to see that. SQH is a man made of contingency plans <3 I love it when authors do my son justice. 10/10

How to Panic Your Demon King by StarlightLion. Chapters: 1/1, words: 7,816

Summary: Mu Qingfang is starting to wonder if this is a requirement to be a demon lord. At least this one isn't kidnapping him.

Vod Notes: A delicious one shot about MBj worrying about the love of his life, who is a strong, dedicated, talented man who has an unfortunate training mishaps and then tries to cover it up bc he’s also dumb and doesn’t want to worry anyone. Stupid man. SQH we love you pls take care of yourself. You’re giving your husband grey hairs. A special treat toward the end with a MQF POV! My sexy doctor man is exasperated and done with everything. 10/10

it must follow, as the night the day by Tossawary. Chapters: 7/7, words: 26,342

Summary: Airplane Bro transmigrates into his own web-novel only to find out that the System messed up his world! Shang Qinghua is a demon in this world! All the characters supposed to be humans are demons in this world! And all the characters supposed to be demons are...?

Vod Notes: You simply cannot go wrong with Tossawary. They have the most scrumptious servings of Moshang in all the land. For this specific one, we’re gifted with a lovely Role Reversal AU! It’s got everything! Demon!SQH who is a absolute mess of a man? Serious cultivator MBJ who is stoic and cold but has the heart of a hero (or just a heart hardwired for SQH specifically)? Espionage? Feed it to me slowly like grapes. 11/10

You Will Never Step Lightly in the Dark by Janusoverlord. Chapters: 11/11, words 57,218

Summary: Shang Qinghua wakes up in the aftermath of Tianlang-Jun's rampage on Cang Qiong Mountain and has to navigate the delicate political situation he now finds himself in. Luo Binghe is building a harem with Shen Qingqiu as his first, and honestly most terrifying, husband. Yet, Luo Binghe seems to be turning his eyes to Shang Qinghua as a possibility as well. Excuse you? What is this? He didn't sign up for this!

Vod Notes: holy fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck this one blew my entire mind! Not only do we have SQH looking out for number one (which is himself, bless you my son) when shit turns strictly bad, but we have a absolutely, one of a kind, PHENOMENAL badass SQQ who is supporting his bro and fucking shit up left and right and everywhere for Airplane’s sake. God. This was like drinking fine wine. Breathtaking, spectacular. My life has been changed. MBJ spends most of this being a big, sulky, upset mess but don’t worry, cucumberplane fixes that up themselves. LBH get’s put in time out by both his husbands (because this is LBH/SQQ/LQG), because he fucks up in this majorly and SQQ isn’t fucking happy and doesn’t let him get away with it just because he gives him the puppy eyes and I AM LIVINGGGGGGGGG!! TLDR: simply superb badass cucumberplane, sad boy MBJ hours, and LQG gets stuck with babysit the naughty demon king duty. VERDICT: umm?! 7000/10

A Queen’s Trials (And How to Speedrun Them) by daddykeehl. Chapters: 1/8(as of 4/17/21), words: 25,000.

Summary: Shang Qinghua is now well on his way to the same happily-ever-after that every protagonist gets, but two things stand in his way. The Queen's Trials, and a council that just won't give up. Too bad for them, they really don't know who they're dealing with.

Vod Notes: Sorry I can’t hear any of your questions over the loud, shrill screams of my absolute LOVE for this story. it’s not finished, no, but it’s set up in arcs per chapter, so I’m fine with waiting for the next one to come along, and so will you if you read this. Because, lemme tell you. Fucking amazing. An SQH who knows everything about the North? He’s God, dammit, why wouldn’t he? Using that to his advantage? Not just to prolong his life, but to legally win the right to marry MBJ. God, this story is just absolutely breathtaking. I was speechless when I got to the end of chapter one. The sheer level of worldbuilding! Catch me with actual hearts in my eyes. The small DETAILS! The magnificently built OCs! The culture, the writing! The character interactions! SQH goes around accidentally winning the lifelong loyalty of every badass, OP demon in the Northern realm. I am still screeching. daddykeehl you’re my number one. fucking 200k/10 heart eyes emoji, heart eyes emoji (also, it’s part of a series! The story before this one, Quick, Easy Steps To Realizing You’re The Queen Consort, is also VERY good.)

As it was, Gansey had come in and gotten an eye full of the ink of Adam’s arms. Ronan had gone all out. He had tugged his shirt on quickly, but not quick enough.

Ronan is a Grammy award-winning rock star with a shady reputation, Adam is a mechanic with a maybe-girlfriend. When Blue drags him to the Second Sleeper concert, he gets wrapped up in a scandal with himself and Ronan at the center.

Just for the record, Adam didn’t want to be there in the first place. He was already half deaf, and the last thing he needed was to lose the other half in the mosh pit of a rock concert. He didn’t even like rock concerts. Unfortunately for him, he did like Blue.

💞 Meant For You by ohdarlingg (Not Rated but it’s G/T)

Ronan finds out the hard way what a complicated thing it is to be Adam Parrish.

Soulmate AU where you wake up in the body of your soulmate the day after the younger one's seventeenth birthday

💞 you're ripped at every edge but you're a masterpiece by Klavier / @lynchly (Rated M)

It wasn't that Adam listened to the comments from other Aglionby boys about "the brain and the brawn" or took any of their gold-plated opinions into account.

It was the fearless, almost insubordinate, nature of Ronan's rolled up sleeves. Two handprints encircled his wrists, a deep violet, darker than any mark Adam had ever seen. Gansey sported a matching color on both palms, as if he'd dipped them completely in paint.

Okay so I was tagged by @fairieswithoutwings to do one of those like “get to know me” kind of post things, which like wow, I’m surprised that I was tagged in one of these! Like I didn’t ever expect to be so it’s pretty cool! Thanks!! :)

Anyyyywayyyyssss...

Name/nickname/whatever you prefer to be called?

My friends usually just call me by my full name, Mackenzie, but sometimes they call me ‘Mack’. Some of my soccer coaches in the past have called me ‘G’ or “Gal’ because of my last name but yeah, I don’t really go by nicknames that much. Wouldn’t mind it though!

I’m currently 17 (a little more than 4 months away from 18 though, but who’s counting?) (Me. I’m counting. I’m definitely counting)

Fav Skam character?

This is SUCH a tough question oh man. (I love them all is that an acceptable answer? lol) Ummm... I’m gonna have to go with either Isak or Even, as cliche as it seems. When I saw Isak in season one he was this cute, adorable, little bean and I dunno, it was kinda just love at first sight lol. And then in season three, my love for him just grew and grew and grew because throughout his season we see him going through some tough shit and the way he handles most of it and becomes more aware of things and is open to learning and exploring things is very admirable. Like ofc he definitely speaks before he thinks about what he’s going to say sometimes, like the comments he makes to Eskild about gay pride, and also the comment to Even in the locker room (we all know exactly what I’m talking about here), but the thing is, he doesn’t just let them go or deny that he said those things. He actively takes responsibility for them and realizes that he messed up or said something wrong and he tries to fix it, and I think that’s really important. He does a lot of growing and learning and I just love that he’s willing to do that growing and learning. Also, I really love how despite how much he tries to make himself seem like this ‘cool’ guy, like ‘look at me I wear snapbacks and listen to ‘90s hip hop and smoke weed’, he’s really just this big loving dork who gets blushy and embarrassed and is actually really intelligent and loves biology and old memes (honestly tho boy, you gotta get updated on your meme collection it’s looking very #yike) and has a soft spot for his friends. Like I just really love Isak.

Okay and Even. Damn, where do I begin with Even? He’s such a complex character and I actually love that so much, like there are so many different layers to him and I felt like every episode we peeled one back and found another waiting to be explored. I really really love how he’s so much more than just the love interest. Like a lot of shows bring on a character as the love interest for the main character and they’re kind of just there and don’t really have that much background to them. But with Even... oh mannnn. Boy do we get background. He’s more than just Isak’s love interest and that makes me really appreciative. I also think his mental illness was dealt with in such a wonderful way. Now, I’m no expert on mental illnesses, but I feel like they did a fantastic job at portraying one. It seemed very real and I loved how it wasn’t just boom he had an episode which we didn’t witness and everything’s suddenly better within a day. Like even I know that’s not how it is, and they didn’t do that. They showed the good and the bad and I think that made me fall in love with Even too. Seeing the good and the bad just showed that he’s not perfect, nobody is, and we all have to go through shit. It’s part of life. And that just made him seem even more real. Also, I love how as the season progressed he became more real. Like in the beginning, since we’re seeing everything through Isak’s eyes, Even kinda appears like this gorgeous ‘way outta my league’ kind of guy, like he was the epitome of cool, super untouchable, right. But then throughout the episodes that air of ‘too cool’ kinda disappeared and once again we were left with this absolute dork, who loves movies and cooking and Gabrielle, who gets insecure about things too, who isn’t as perfect as we originally thought. Like I just want to be his best friend and sit and talk with him for hours about everything under the sun (god, he would be such a good conversationalist omg. He definitely strikes me as that person that can literally talk about anything and everything that comes to mind and actually make that conversation enjoyable. Like he could probably bring up like some dumb math theorum or whatever and I’d be intrigued lol). He’s precious and needs to be protected at all costs. (Honestly I could talk about him for HOURS. Hmu if ya wanna tho lol I’d be up for it)

When did you start watching Skam?

Okay so I started watching Skam midway through season 3, so episode 6 was the first episode I watched in ‘real time’. I was on Tumblr one day (instead of doing my homework... which is kind of what I’m doing now... lol sorry AP Gov, you’re not important right now) and I was scrolling through my dash and I kept seeing a bunch of posts with these two boys cuddling together (that first clip from episode 5 you know the one ;)) and I reblogged a couple of them even though I had no idea what this show was yet, but I remember thinking to myself okay s’cute I’ll check it out. And that’s when I fell down the rabbit hole lol. No, but honestly? Best decision I ever made. I remember it was the first day of Thanksgiving break when I found this show and I watched all of season 3 as of then that night, then Tuesday night I went back and watched season 1, Wednesday I watched all of season 2, and then Thursday I rewatched season 3 so I’d be ready for the new episode on Friday. And I was Hooked™.

When did you make your blog?

Oh god, ummm, I honestly have no idea the date (or even the year for that matter lol). I know I’ve had it a few years though. I used to be a hardcore One Direction account, I shipped Larry (not super extra about it though I was super chill), like I was so invested in that band omfg, but now I kinda don’t care what’s going on with them? Like, I just gradually stopped caring. I stopped constantly checking for updates and now when new stuff happens I’m kinda just like oh okay cool whatever. Like I’m not badmouthing them, I still enjoy their music and all, I just stopped being obsessive I suppose. Which, I’m kinda glad about tbh lol. Idk I just don’t think it was very good to be that invested. But yeah, now this blog is kinda a mosh of different stuff I like. Like rn it’s mainly Skam but I’ll post about Harry Potter or Marvel or Sherlock.

Who are you cheering for to be s4′s main?

EVEN. Oh my god you have no idea how much I want Even to be the main. Like I’m probably HELLA getting my hopes up and I’m gonna be super disappointed if it’s not him (mainly bc I’m so convinced he should be (but ofc I’m gonna be thrilled with whoever they do choose!!)) But yeah, there’s just so many reasons why he should be the main. Like I said earlier he’s a super complex character and I feel like we’ve only scratched the surface. Like there’s so many things we don’t know about him and I’m so damn curious to find out everything about him. I also think it would be really cool if we had a season from the point of view of someone with a mental illness so we could see how normal they are. Because people sometimes think that just because someone’s mentally ill or something like that that they’re totally different, but in reality they’re probably not that different from you and me. I think it would provide so much exposure for that and be super informative and helpful and just lovely, because Skam always does the loveliest job portraying things. Not to mention, he’s graduating this year and I think it would be so good to see him successfully graduate. It would show people that yes, it’s possible and yes you can do it. (I’m getting teary eyed just thinking about my tol bean graduating omg!) Alsooo, this is literally our last chance to have Even as a main. Like I said, he’s graduating this year so once this year is over he won’t be at Nissen anymore, which is kind of like a requirement of the mains sooo. (Plus I was discussing this with someone I follow and we were talking about how it would make the most sense and be a very smart move from a marketing point of view to have Even as the main because a bunch of people are super invested in him and if he’s the main it would bring a lot of viewers because of that investment) (Plus the transition to s4 would be smooth as hell). Ideally, it would be perfect if it went like this: Even for S4, Sana for S5, and Vilde for S6. Fingers crossed this is what we get!!

Who do you think is most likely to be s4′s main?

I feel like Even’s definitely got a chance. But I also think Sana does too. If it’s not Even (I’m in too deep help) I think it’ll for sure be Sana (which yessss, I love Sana omg).

What are your main interests?

Main interests... welllll, if it’s not already obvious I love obsessing over tv shows lol. Nah, but I’m super into watching movies (not quite on Even’s level but I’m working my way up there), like marathoning is my fave. I’m super into photography. I’m in a photography class in school right now, but I love taking pictures of everything really. And I’m super happy because I just got my own camera for Hanukkah this year and I’ve been asking for the past few years so I’m so happy about that. I enjoy reading too, I’m a sucker for a good book. (recs anyone? lol) I also like to write, even though I’ve never actually sat down and written anything completely. Like seriously, look at my computer and you’ll see a million files of half written, started and abandoned fics. I’ve been trying to get myself to actually finish one but who knows if that’ll ever happen lol. Oh and I play soccer too, have been since I was 4! Definitely one of my favorite things to do!

Something you’re always up to discuss?

Literally anyting? Like hmu I’m always open to talk about things. I love love love Harry Potter so if you ever want to talk about anything that has to do with Harry Potter I’m soo beyond down. I really enjoy talking about Literature as well. I’m in an AP Lit class this year and it’s actually my favorite class ever. We’ve read so many interesting books and I’ve learned so much and me and my pals are literally the biggest Lit nerds you’d ever find, we’ll sit and discuss our books for hours when we go out to coffee or are at lunch. Speaking of coffee, whenever me and my friends get coffee we always end up having these super deep conversations about politics or religion or things like that and those conversations are actually so enjoyable, so like if you’re an open minded person and you’re not trying to shove your belief/opinion down my throat I could definitely talk with you about those things. I think talking about politics or religion and stuff like that really helps you keep an open mind because it allows you to see things from other people’s point of view, and that’s pretty cool.

Something you refuse to discuss?

Umm, nothing super specific is coming to mind. But when it comes to politics or religion I refuse to speak to someone about these things if they only want to explain their views/opinions and think that it’s their way or the highway and try to shove it down my throat and aren’t open to hearing what other people think. Like you don’t have to like what I’m saying and you definitely don’t have to agree, but you need to be able to listen and at least be open to hearing a different point of view. So yeah, I guess it’s not really a what I refuse to discuss but more of a who I refuse to discuss with lol.

Other favorite shows aside from Skam?

Too many. Omfg. Okay I’m hella into Criminal Minds. That show is one of my all time favorites. I actually decided that I want to study Criminal Justice and Psychology and actually become a profiler because of that lol. I just think it’s such a cool show and what they do is so interesting so yeah, that show has actually influenced my career goals haha. I also love Parks and Rec- that show is funny as hell and it’s one of those shows I’m always down to rewatch. Oh, I watched Stranger Things this year and that show is just yes. So good oh man. I love the movie Super 8 with a passion and when I watched Stranger Things I got such a Super 8 vibe which I looooved so yeah I definitely love that show and would consider it a favorite. American Horror Story is pretty awesome too, though I haven’t been that impressed with their last few seasons, still a great show though! Ooh I just started watching Sherlock this year (I watched it all in like a week oops?), love that show! Supernatural oh my god I loove that show so much! Jensen and Jared are my absolute favorites oh man. I haven’t finished the show yet I’m only about halfway through season 6 lol but I heard it was renewed for season 13 so that’s pretty cool! Some honorable mentions: How I Met Your Mother was good, I watched That ‘70s Show not that long ago, that was pretty funny, I just finished The Office. I feel like I’m missing some key shows I love but yeah that’s all I can think of right now.

Anyways, I hope some of you take the time to read this, I know I don’t have that many followers and I’m not like a popular blog or anything lol. But yeah this took me a while to write and it was pretty fun to do.
