Mosspelt is one of the most UNDERRATED characters in warrior cats.

Like- her story within the series is quite interesting when you look into to it, and the fact that she lost a lot of close family members - her mate, kits, grand-kits, apprentice, possibly her sister, etc. - and lived through a lot of negative major events - Tigerstar attempting to kill the kits she fostered, seeing her forest territory home get destroyed, the great battle with the dark forest, being imprisoned by Darktail, her clan losing its leader and deputy, etc. - within the series makes her story quite tragic as well.

Plus, she’s also the one who literally fostered and/or adopted Feathertail and Stormfur, who are part of a quite important part of Arc 2, and she’s also somewhat older that Graystripe, and is STILL currently alive within the series!

So the fact that I don’t see and/or hear much people talking about her, honestly makes me feel a bit sad.

So basically Mosspelt is a minor but very underrated character with an interesting story and I honestly feel like she should be known at least a bit more by the fandom.

Mosspelt/Silverstream minicomic <3

A twitter user I follow hosted a Warrior Cats RAREPAIR tournament bracket, so here's some propaganda and appreciation for my favorite background character. <3

For those unfamiliar, Mosspelt is the queen who took in Graystripe/Silverstream's kits after her death. She is also the mother of Willowshine! I've always felt there was hidden potential in that adopted family dynamic, and that like to headcanon Mossy had a bit of a crush on Silverstream, hence her taking in the kits without question. A very bittersweet love, with unanswered questions of what could have been.

In canon, Feathertail really is the StarClan cat who first visits Willowpaw- however she doesn't recognize her? I find it strange RiverClan wouldn't have told stories about one of the original TNP journey cats, especially since its only been a few moons since they moved into the territory.
