I should like to say that I am a practical person who understands a character's flaws and perceived downfalls exist for the sake of an actual reason. It is not good to actually despise a being that doesn't exist. But when I read the question, the first name that popped into my head was Uchiha Sasuke. Naruto as a series was far from perfect. Ideas fell by the wayside. Characters came in the dozens that never got fleshed out. Development was crippled by Shounen Jump forcing things on the creator. But this colossal, self-important, forever whining, shithead... War crimes. Betrayal. Pride over friendship. Trying to kill every member of his team at least once. WAR CRIMES. That bullshit final battle between him and Naruto. I will not even get into how toxic the SasuSaku shippers are most of the time (I am looking at one particular person who continues to harass me even years later in my writing for anything BUT that pairing) and how Kishi actually sanctioned the canonical marriage and birth of a child between these two when his OWN WIFE said it was a terrible idea. Sasuke by any stretch of consciousness, is the worst of husbands and a deadbeat dad. And the Boruto series, somehow, made him worse.... (Fair warning: if someone spams me with even more harassment from this post, you are getting blocked and reported. I am not kidding.)
