if Riz does indeed come out in junior year, and he says, “I’m ace” or “I’m asexual” when referring specifically to his lack of romantic attraction, aromantic people are allowed to be upset about it.

But when people talk about fabriz and say ‘he can still be ace!’ (Which is aro erasure) or #‘he can still be aro!’ They never SHOW riz still being aro or having any kind of complex relationship with romance. #I’m angry and I’m allowed to be. #I get that a ship you liked may be hard to let go of or something #But I’d be much less mad if all the fabriz fans said ‘yeah I know Riz is aro in canon and he and Fabian would never get together. #I just like to imagine it sometimes in fiction/fanon!’ Then that would be a WHOLE different conversation #Because then they’d at least be acknowledging that riz doesn’t feel romance in canon. The Zava plotline would probably have to be reworked pretty thoroughly for me to actively like it, but I do think they could have wrapped it up in a much more coherent way just by setting 3x05 a week or two after 3x04 instead of seven. In canon, the Richmond players attack the West Ham players, lose the match, and get (I think) three red cards — and then we skip past them losing seven matches in a row because… the vibes are off, I guess? And then Zava quits the team, which you can maybe interpret as being related to that losing streak, but that isn’t really implied in the show. But if they’d played Man City the week after West Ham, or maybe lost one match in between, then you get the tension of trying to figure out how to beat a team that crushed them the last time they played while they’re also multiple players down and dealing with the media fallout of their players attacking another team (which would also give them the chance to show Keeley being good at her job) and give a more direct payoff to the set up of Zava being a flighty player who doesn’t want to stick around on a team when things get tough

#you cannot convince me that beating up a bunch of another team's players wouldn't have some sort of lasting impact #like that'd be going in every in-universe football documentary for the foreseeable future #the other time jump that bothers me is the 4 weeks between 3x08-3x09 #the colin/isaac and keeley/jack storylines are written so much like they take place a week after 3x08 at most that i was briefly convinced #i was misremembering people talking about the length of the time jump when the season was airing #(you can tell because they mention the length of their winning streak in both episodes) #i enjoyed a lot of this season but the pacing. the pacing is my nemesis #why is it like that #ted lasso

Yeah I kinda tend to read through things too many times. First readthrough just for fun, and then again as a different reader pov, and then as character 1 pov, then as character 2 pov, and occasionally as "trying to figure out what the author was doing with this" pov. This was a special case though, because I had specifically done a read-through recently where I was putting together a list of Chris' and Isaac's interactions and notable thoughts. The list wasn't ever completed but I had all the bits up to ch20.

Rewatching "Shadow Realms" because I can, and damn get you a man like Isaac who can tick off every single one of your likes and dislikes without hesitation, knows all of your goals and values, AND can rattle off your favourite sexual positions - all with *pin point accuracy* - in a matter of a few minutes with a complete straight face.
