I forget if I’ve mentioned this on here before but I like to headcanon that as a corollary to the “every firstborn girl of the royal family is named Zelda” thing, any girl who’s born while another Zelda is alive is given a secondary name. This is both to eliminate confusion and also has the effect of making ‘Zelda’ a sort of inherited title. it’s expected that once you get that title, the secondary name is dropped forever, except for very official records like lineages, because after a few hundred years it’s easier to keep track with names versus just “zelda the twenty-sixth”

(although there’s probably some difference between how the convention works within the royal family/castle and the population at large. To the closer circle you’d probably just be [secondary name], whereas for everyone else it’s “zelda [secondary name]” or something)

anyway the reason why I’m contemplating this is because I am Once Again Thinking About Botw Zelda, and trying to think of what her and her mother’s secondary names would be
