modern!lxc is very comfortable in his sexuality but never in front of his uncle. like, he experimented and stuff and got around to meet boys in between classes back in uni, but he had to earn his uncle’s respect by abiding to society rules for ages well into his mid 30s only to reach the point where -with a stable job and a stellar curriculum as a posterchild for the “non-gay cousin” movement- he was finally, finally allowed to leave home and live by himself (definitely not to date whoever the fuck he wanted). meanwhile lwj one merry day was like “this is bullshit imma go live in a camper with my fiancé and his chickens” and encompassed this entire mood without a single word like the micro-expression king that he is. (the little fucker. lxc loves him and hates him in equal amount.) the two brothers are still forced to go to weekly family dinners with their uncle, tension palpable and agonizingly heavy as lxc hopes his brother doesn’t let it slip that he and his husband wwx are considering opening their relationship to a third person. because then lxc would be morally obligated to protect his baby brother from their uncle’s wrath, uncle will demand in retaliation for lxc to explain why he bothers defending lwj, lwj will deadpan and let it slip how lxc is just as gay as him if not more, and in two weeks time lxc will have to introduce both of his boyfriends to the rest of the family and... noPe. he earned his place there. he’s not gonna let his brother snitch on him. better sip this cold broth and munch on stale veggies and praise uncle for the delicious meal before running back home to a-cheng and a-sang all in one fucking piece. thank you very much :)
