How did you and your fiancé meet?
It was kind of a cliché story. The short version: it was in a bar. Long version: I was at a bar with two of my best friends and I was just at my sister's in law bachelorette party which was pretty depresing and awkward since I used to date her uncle and dumped him a while ago and let's just say her family in general didn't love me and they all were at this party. So I went to this bar with my friends and jokinly we started a game to pick someone in the bar to go with me to my brother's wedding. That's when Israel came in and i kid you not and it sounds dumb and again, cliché, but I was so amazed and wanted so much to meet him that I went to one of my best friend's girlfriend and was like "ok I need to meet that guy" and she went like "ok so we have to pass right beside him while going to the bathroom and you're going to smile at him". I said nooooo since I'm not good at those things, and am better with words just flirting by talking but she was like "trust me this would be better" so I agreed reluctantly. Like half a minute after this, she told me "are you ready?" and I was like no? I need to prepare myself and she was like but I really need to pee! So we went after she told me a lot how he was also looking at me and stuff. So we passed right beside him and I smile at him or at least that's what I thought happened because later my fiancé told me I actually didn't smile and made some awkward movement with my mouth! So there I was trying to drown myself or something in the bathroom when my friend's girlfriend finally ended peeing and we went back to our table. Right before we passed Israel again he stopped me and told me he knew me from somewhere and of course I said yeah! I think I know you too! By now both my friends and his friends were looking at us smirking. He offered me a drink and man I was so freaking happy. Ten minutes later we discovered we are both lawyers interested in human rights who love progressive rock. He kissed me that very night, we've been living together for almost two years, and even when that girl who kinda helped me is not longer my friend's girlfriend, Israel and I agreed she's definetely invited to our wedding :)

@mouthlikevenus reblogged your photo:The Outbursts of Everett True was a comic strip...
#love it but can't help but wonder if this person was prob racist
A.D. Condo (and therefore Everett True) was less racist than the average middle class white dude at the time, but was still definitely racist. Depictions of Black or Asian men are generally super cringeworthy. 70% of Everett True comics are great, with the other 30% involving racism or WW1 or both.
