hatchetfield: the movie
so basically a while ago I saw a post on reddit with this cool little chain post format where they'd get the starkid reddit community to cast Hatchetfield: The Movie. Obviously, i did what any other sensible person would do and decides to transfer it over to the multiple starkid servers I was in on reddit (this was before I got tumblr) after multiple days of hard work and voting, here's what we ended up with!
Tumblr media
pretty cool, right? And I decided to make the dumb mistake of coming up with a plot for this thing, so I've decided to share with you all what I've gotten so far! And by the way, shoutout to u/SuperKE1125 on reddit for giving me the idea in the first place!
Ted and Gary sue Pamela for being a terrible mother (Ted does it because Pete told him about how his new friend at High School, Hannah, seemed like she wasnt being taken care of well and underneath the tough exterior Ted actually cares) and Dan and Donna get an interview with him because all the Peanuts stories are getting stale. While setting up for the interview, A Man in a Hurry bumps into Gary. He apologises and the 2 soon hit it off. We then cut to Gary going over to the Monroe residence to discuss the will or smth. Linda tells Gary that suing Pamela is a terrible idea but Gerald is actually supportive of the idea. Ted and Gary then start gathering some evidence as to why she's a terrible mother and Dan, who's supportive, sends them over to his fellow reporter and best friend Boy Jerry. Boy Jerry tells them about how Pamela sent Hannah and Lex to Camp Idontwannabang and how he suspects that it was because Pamela didn't wanna have to take care of them over summer break, and she even suggested that Boy and Girl Jerry/i take care of them LONGER, which set off a red flag for Girl Jeri but Boy Jerry thought nothing of it. While visiting Jerry, Gary meets up Barry again and the two talk again for a while, with Barry saying that he thinks Gary is really cool for doing this and leaves after a suspiciously long time for a man in a hurry. Ted calls Gary out and says "With those heart eyes you were making around that guy I would've thought that you were dating" with Gary denying any feelings he had toward Barry. Boy Jerry says something about it being sinful and then we cut to the next scene. Pamela Fostor was watching the Hatchetfield News and swooning over Dan Reynolds, when she heard that Ted Spankoffski and Gary Goldstein were planning on suing her. Pamela would be very mad at this, and felt betrayed that Dan would support this case. A suspicious man then enters the van, and makes Pamela mcswoon. He introduces himself as Wilbur Cross and offers to help Pamela out with the case a little and take care of the kids very flirtaciously, disappointing John/Wilbur fans across the globe. Pamela agrees, saying "Well you kinda look like Dan Reynolds" and asks how he's gonna take care of the case. Wilbur replies, "oh.. I have my ways."It would then cut to Ted, entering his apartment on the phone with Pete. He tells his brother how they're gonna go forward with the case, saying "It's pretty open and shut". Then, he hears a sound. A frame falling. A picture of the CCRP gang. Ted thinks nothing of it until he hears more sounds, coming from his room. Music, beckoning him forward. Sounding awfully familiar to a commercial he saw.. he enters the bedroom, only to be met with 4 giant bird things.. Sniggles! They all maul him apart, bit by bit, as he screams.
And that's literally it so far lol. Yall have any other ideas on how to move forward with this???

Are the Warners Looney Tunes?
Well, no. Officially, Animaniacs and Looney Tunes are separate franchises.
In-universe however...well...
In Animaniacs, there is already a character who's established to be an (ex?)Looney Tune in-universe, Slappy.
Tumblr media
The Warners themselves debuted in Buddy cartoons in-universe.
Tumblr media
Buddy in real life actually is an official Looney Tune, so if that's still the case in Animaniacs (and we have no real reason to assume it isn't) any characters who starred alongside him in his cartoons would be Looney Tunes too, right?
Tumblr media
That's not even mentioning the fact that Slappy and the Warners are all kind of like Bugs Bunny (Yakko especially).
There's also the fact that Animaniacs literally shares a universe with Tiny Toons, which IS part of the Looney Tunes franchise (as a spin-off):
Tumblr media
Ralph himself is actually from Tiny Toons, not Animaniacs!
Tumblr media
(Mary Hartless and Mr Skullhead originated from Tiny Toons too.)
There's also the fact that Pinky, Elymra and the Brain exists, and although nowadays it's considered non-canon, back when it was new it seemed to function essentially as a sequel series/retooled Pinky and the Brain season 5.
Sometimes the Looney Tunes themselves will appear in Animaniacs too:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You could argue that doesn't mean much considering characters from a lot of Warner Bros stuff show up in Animaniacs because of the show's meta and satirical nature, but the Warners themselves sometimes appear in Looney Tunes stuff as well (in addition to their appearance in Tiny Toons Spring Break).
For example, in the Duck Dodgers episode "Pig Planet", these three characters, who are voiced by Rob Paulsen, Tress MacNeille and Jess Harnell, appear:
Tumblr media
They have the exact same voices as the Warners, they're characterized as three chaotic kids, they have a similar naming convention (Porko, Puerco and Sow), they're dressed like the Warners (except for Porko), Puerco's tongue is hanging out like Wakko's and Porko even does Yakko's "Uhhhh" in the episode. I'm counting this as an actual appearance of the Warners. I get why people would say they're just meant to reference the Warners, nothing more, considering the Warners aren't pigs; but Yosemite Sam and Elmer Fudd aren't aliens, yet K'chutha Sa'am and The Fudd are considered basically just the Yosemite Sam and Elmer Fudd of Duck Dodgers. Perhaps alternate versions of the characters, sure, but still essentially those characters, and I see Porko, Puerco and Sow the same way in relation to the Warners.
And then there's the Warners' appearances in Space Jam: A New Legacy;
Tumblr media
Not only is Dot's statue right next to one of Marvin the Martian, but during the game the Warners (and only the Warners) are sitting on Marvin's ship, which the Looney Tunes used to travel throughout the film. There's lots of space (heh) there, interesting that they chose to have the Warners be the only characters sitting on it.
There's a WB water tower in Tune World/Looney Tunes World (whichever one it's supposed to be, the movie uses both), which could be seen as just a cute meta reference to the fact that Warner Bros owns Looney Tunes, but here's the thing, the WB water tower doesn't resemble how it looks in real life, rather, it's designed after the one in Animaniacs! A lot of people already noticed this, but what I find interesting is that this is even consistent across games/comics/merchandise used to promote Space Jam: A New Legacy;
Tumblr media
Keep in mind the first Space Jam exists in the world of Animaniacs (it's mentioned in its spin-off Pinky and the Brain, which IS canon unlike Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain). This likely means A New Legacy does as well. Also keep in mind we never see an "Animaniacs World" or anything like it in A New Legacy.
So since the WB water tower is coloured like the one from Animaniacs, and there seems to be no "Animaniacs World", it's safe to assume it is the one from Animaniacs, right?
If it's the one from Animaniacs, the Warners we see in the movie must live there.
If they live there, that means they live in Looney Tunes World.
If the Warners live in Looney Tunes World, doesn't that make them...Looney Tunes?
I know I'm probably looking too deep into this, no matter what Animaniacs is not part of the Looney Tunes franchise; but the two franchises are definitely connected, and given that Looney Tunes was a big inspiration for Animaniacs, I think that's cool.

The seventy-fourth free, unedited chapter of my upcoming book, “The Heist at Cordia Aquarium” is now available on its website (or click https://www.kitfisto.gay/chapters/thea to read from the beginning).
Waylon is clueless. Where are they amid the aquarium's maze? Running, navigating, his fickle fight with derealization. It was too much to handle in tandem. Conscious twists and turns transitioned to hunches, then to straight up gambles. The aquarium's floor plan is nothing but a useless memory now. Not that it matters: he's not in control anymore.
His body crashes through the door and he enters into a separate world. No more darkness, no more pipes.
A glass dome encompasses him, only broken up by two entrances: an unlit hallway and the maintenance tunnel he just came from. Blue-tinted light floods the space, shone from fixtures above all the water and glass. Subtle waves scatter light into ever-morphing spiderwebs. It's as if he's under the sea, standing among hundreds of fish that swirl around him. Big, small, every color he's ever seen and more. His stumbling falters. He spins in place, taking everything in as if struck by awe.
But he's not in awe: this is all meaningless.
A picturesque moment that may have spurred his heart if he were a few hours younger. Now, though? It's the backdrop of his own demise. The Seafloor Dome is near the center of the aquarium, after all. Far from any escape.
[...]
That art insert from last week again because I will never stop loving it.
This depicts the end of chapter 33, “A Pillar”

More Animaniacs Headcanons
--If any of the Warners' noses are squeezed, they will honk like a clown's. They are all aware of this, including Wakko, who hates this.
--Genderfluid Pinky ftw.
--Yakko doesn't like it when his head is touched. A lot of the time, particularly in the original series, when a part of his head is touched he reacts negatively:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He even reacted negatively when Hello Harp did it, and that was someone he was attracted to:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
--Why did it take the Warner decades to escape the water tower even though they do it with ease daily in the present? It's because they were lied to. When the studio locked away their old films, they told the Warners they were being "preserved". When they locked them in the tower, they told them they were in "protective custody".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I guess you could argue this isn't really a headcanon if official trading cards say so...but this hasn't been stated within the original show or reboot so until it is...it counts (even if it doesn't, what're you gonna do, sue me?)
I also headcanon that as the years went by they realised this wasn't true, but hoped maybe they'd be permanently let out every time the studio occasionally fumigated the water tower or used them for a war propaganda film or lent/sold them to another studio to make money-but that never happened. In 1993 they decided to escape for good.
-- I already mentioned this one but I'll say it again, Mr. Clown and Mr. Director are the same person. After “Hearts of Twilight”, I headcanon Mr. Director was fired, couldn’t find get a job as director anywhere else, and took a job as a clown to make money. I know they’re not confirmed to be the same person, and I know the reason they’re similar is because they’re both references to Jerry Lewis...but I'm just saying they've never been in the same room together.
--Why the Warners don't age but Slappy does, even though they're all toons:
There's an episode of Tiny Toon Adventures called "Fields of Honey", and in that they confirm that laughter keeps toons young, and they'll only age if the laughter stops and they're forgotten. Animaniacs shares a universe with Tiny Toons, so this logic likely applies to Animaniacs too.
The Warners stayed young for about 60 years by making each other laugh in the tower. They're all so zany that their crazed laughter, even from only one of them, is equivalent to the laughter of a crowd of people. This was enough to counteract the effects of the studio disavowing any knowledge of their existence until they escaped (occasionally appearing in cartoons by other studios and war propaganda also helped). Slappy, on the other hand, tends to isolate herself and likes to be left alone, so as her cartoons declined in popularity over time (and we know they did because she complains about not being as popular as modern cartoon stars in "Hurray for Slappy" and "No Face Like Home"), she aged. The fact that many saw her cartoons as too violent also didn't help. She was never completely forgotten though, since her cartoons were never locked away, hence why she never disappeared completely. The reason neither her nor Skippy have aged since the original show ended (according to their appearances in the reboot) is because their skits on Animaniacs gave them both a boost in popularity, and since the gap between her last appearance in Animaniacs and the reboot (about 22 years) isn't as long as the gap between her last solo cartoon and her first appearance on Animaniacs (approximately 50 years) Animaniacs never declined in popularity for long enough for her to age (in fact it managed to stay relatively well remembered due to the nostalgia of 90's kids).
