Here’s our first two semifinalists! The scrappy underdog (and canon dilf) who’s beat the odds to be here, Ripred, VS. the queer icon math teacher from our childhood, Mr. Ratburn!
Today for pride month I decided to draw Mr. Ratburn and his husband Patrick from Arthur.
I decided to draw them today because it really shows how far we have come with queer representation, for context in 2005 the people who made Arthur got in trouble for showing same sex parents in a spin off and now they can show two men getting married without much pushback.
i don’t post on here often anymore. not as much as i used to. but i need everyone to see how soft ratburn is when he talks about patrick 😭💖 especially with the new podcast episode, he’s so in love with him… it’s adorable… (WATCH THE PODCAST EPISODE!!!!)
On the first day of Pride month, PBS Kids gave to me:
A really nice wedding that couldn’t air in my state when it premiered because conservatives lost their shit.
(You don’t even see them kiss. They walk down the aisle and you don’t see them again until they’re dancing together in an embarrassing teacher kinda way)
