tbh ive been thinking a bit about what buck may have studied in college and i feel like it probably wasn't anything stem (not because he's not smart but bc those tend to be very career-focused and he "fell into" firefighting) but i can totally see him in the social sciences or humanities! maybe anthropology or psychology. maybe even education (i feel like he'd be a great teacher!!) or media studies because it requires a lot of passion and it seems like the place he picked up all his random facts

yes dee!!! i totally get where you’re coming from. it seems like he didn’t particularly have a clear idea of what he wanted to do before he fell into firefighting. But yes!! I could totally see him doing something like that, especially as he loves helping people !

I think Buck would be a great teacher, and as I said in another ask just now, I live for AU’s in which Buck is a teacher !!! I feel like he would be great at it. 

I could totally see media studies too! you raise a good point there, and i could totally see him learning it. 

I’m really hoping they bring it up in Buck Begins, but we’ll have to see. There’s a lot I wanna know and they’re probably not gonna fit in all into one 45 minute episode lmao

Most certainly I would tell them that my name is Out. partly because then I’d be able to say that I’m Out and proud. and partly because whenever I wanted to leave I could just say “I’m Out” and it would be VERY amusing. and also if they tried to banish me, they’d have to be like, “Out, fiend!” and I’d be like, “hm yes? that’s me, what do you want?” and the banishment wouldn’t work so I could vastly outstay my welcome and eat all their food.

13. You’re a dragon. What do you hoard?

all evidence points to books. I had two arrive in the post just yesterday. even when the contents of a book aren’t to my taste, there’s something about the physical objects that just sets me at peace. I love listening to people talk and hearing people tell stories at length, especially when I don’t need to react in real time, and books let me do just that. I would be slightly worried about all that paper around my fiery self as a dragon. I suppose I would just have to be very careful and own a lot of fire extinguishers.

20. You leave the safety of your family’s home and go brave the dangers and adventures of the world. What do you seek - Love, Self-Fulfillment or Glory? 

self-fulfillment, no question. love of many kinds is important to me and glory would be great too but without self-fulfillment, both of those things would be empty. love and glory without self-fulfillment would make me feel undeserving. first I want to become the version of myself that’s worthy of those things.

12. what’s the most interesting schools gossip you’ve ever heard?

um... I don’t think I’ve ever heard any? I was the source of the school gossip on at least one occasion, possibly two

for my school’s diversity assembly, I choreographed a flag routine with different country flags (the flags were chosen based on who was volunteering to flag and where they were from) and I included the American flag... you can probably see where this is going... and we had two people from the same country (they were sisters and my best friends, still are) so the younger sister chose to flag for America

when we went “public” with this routine, it caused huge uproar because... wait for it... the flag brushed the ground. it wasn’t dragged, it wasn’t dropped, it wasn’t... anything... the tip should brushed the fucking ground. everyone was SO mad. we had guys from boys scout come up to us after like “um yeah we’re going to have to take the flag and retire it now” and it was like... hmm... fun

two things: 1) we had used TWO American flags during practice (one of them from our rival school, one of them from our school) and 2) we gave them the flag from our school even though both flags touched the ground

people were still talking about it a year later and honestly? I still do not give a flying fuck because the same people who cry “flag code” or whatever the fuck are the same people wearing American flag boxers, which is definitely against flag code

16. if you had to get a tattoo right now, what would you get and where?

hey, you’re good! I’m absolutely okay with tattoos, on myself and on other people

so... I’d probably get this tattoo on my right forearm because I’ve been wanting to get it done for almost two years now. this was drawn by an irl friend of mine (I paid them dw) and the “American” flag in the paw print is because my dog had a Captain America collar so I associate Captain America with him lmao

that being said, I’m on the fence with that tattoo just a little because of the, like, fact it could be misinterpreted as me being patriotic when in reality I just had a dog who had a Captain America collar lmao. so the alternate would be, like, a geometric style tattoo of my dog on my forearm or something

19. what’s your favorite teacher you’ve ever had?

ooh... probably... my former science teacher? she also sponsored the diversity assembly (which I co-ran with two other people), so I got to know her a lot better through that. she is Catholic and an older butch lesbian and is very no bullshit and I just love her. she’s intimidating as hell, but yeah. she’s also roommates with the gay (male) English teacher so, like, goals? (I mean I’d rather be “roommates” with a boyfriend/husband but the next best thing is being roommates with another LGBT person)

I also really liked my English teacher for sophomore and senior year, because for a straight fratbro type he was really cool and very respectful and he called out the bigots in the class. like, I know there was this one occasion where these guys - baseball players iirc - were using the f slur and he shut that shit down and just... not to praise him for the bare minimum but... king...

oof ok does an au count as buck and eddie finally getting their life together and idk moving in together. i feel like that has endless potential for lots of fluff

🤔 I guess it’s an au since we have no proof it’ll happen (it will jlh said so)

1) ok it takes them 2 months to move in together, cause bucks already there all the time anyway and once they start dating he basically never leaves and just slowly migrated his things to Eddie’s house until one day eddie looks up and realises they live together

2) after that it only takes them MAX another month to get engaged—Buck IS the one to propose, but he cries his way through it and eddie ends up taking pity on him and asking him to marry him while Buck’s on his knee. He says yes, obvi, and Christopher doesn’t stop laughing for two days.

3) when Christopher is eleven, Buck brings up wanting another kid. He’s very very nervous, but Eddie is super into the idea cause he rly wants to be there from the beginning this time.

4) maddie ends up their surrogate, because she and chim aren’t really interested in having a baby but she still kinda wants to know what it’s like to be pregnant (they’re planning to adopt an older child later in the year, once chim passes the sergeants exam). She complains a lot but she’s secretly thrilled and wouldn’t have it any other way, she just likes the way Buck and Eddie fall over themselves any time she asks for something

5) Christopher is over the moon. Says he gets to name the baby. Buck and Eddie aren’t sure how to say no to that. They end up letting Chris choose the middle name.

I think it was Captain America? I just really wasn’t into superheroes until the first Cap movie came out and then I had an obsession(still kinda do if I’m honest).

wanda: if you could have any superpower, what would you choose and why?

I know when I was younger I would’ve wanted to have invisibility, but now, I’d probably rather have a power that lets me talk with animals.
