After one month of breaking my head and without writing shit, here’s the ending to the About Dad series, it wasn’t short and now that I re-read it was sort of mediocre at the beginning and doubt if I should’ve posted it here at all. Anyways, as always leave your thoughts and tell me if y’all enjoyed!

“Hey, mum, hey-”

A pair of arms shook the woman back to reality, interrupting her train of thought.

“Are you alright? You zoomed out for a few minutes.”

[Name] blinked repeatedly, [eye colour] eyes widening in confusion as she heard her child’s comment. “...‘for a few minutes’?”

“It was as if time had stopped and you weren’t moving.”

Those last words lingered in the woman’s mind, “As if time had stopped..?”

“Did it trigger any...bad memories about him? I’m sorry- I shouldn’t-”

The woman gently hushed her child, “We will talk about dad, later, at the ice cream parlour.”

Vanilla is not a party person. He is even less of an alcohol person; which is lucky for Dio, who is both of those things.

As he hugs himself in the passenger seat, he begins to regret that. It'd be a lot easier to handle being in the car with him if Dio were not the only intoxicated one. He had insisted he was alright to drive, and unable to pull him away from the door, Vanilla sighed and agreed.

They're lucky that Hol's ranch is far out in the country, but not even the barren roads can calm Vanilla's nerves. The backroads are not very familiar to either of them, and he has to recount how they got here to instruct Dio at every turn.

Finally, as Dio's eyelids begin to droop, he can't take it anymore.

"Pull over," Vanilla says. "Let me drive for awhile."

Dio is fine with this, pulling off on the shoulder. When they cross paths in front of the car, he gives Vanilla a quick kiss that smells like beer. He can still smell it fifteen miles later.

While Dio's car is certainly different from his own — a comfortable, used Cadillac — it's more comforting to know he's the one driving. From the passenger side, Dio rambles about a court case from forty years ago, and Vanilla makes polite commentary here and there. He doesn't quite understand all of his legal jargon, but he'll let Dio talk about anything if it'll wear him out.

And it does. He's asleep within five minutes, snoring quietly. Vanilla steals a glance or two. Dio has a smile on his face, and Vanilla can't help thinking that at least he looks cute with his ruddy cheeks and blonde hair plastered to his forehead by sweat.

State of Affairs

So, for those of you keeping track, you may have noticed I've gone a bit quiet on the writing front, as I missed an update this week. So here is an “Upcoming fic’s” update!

 I have gone a little quiet publishing here on Tumblr, but not in writing or on AO3! Since the 27th, when I last posted a main chapter here, I have posted a few stories I forgot to link to:

My big halloween fic

A DIO/Pucci drabble

Now, last weeks chapter MIGHT not be written yet, but that’s down to me committing to NaNoWriMo this year; and so far I’ve been on par with it. Once Nano wraps up, I know I’ll be able to hurry through with Holy Diver. I aim to either be in the last few chapters, or finishing it by the end of his year! Once it wraps up, we’ll go straight into my Nano project, Show Yourself To Me, which is part 2 of the big main fic!

Once we hit part 2, I will be picking up a load of side stories I have planned, such as expanding the Modern AU I have, and working on a few more NSFW fics.

One more big AU might have the necessary research started on it in December too, depending on how much time I have free after work.

Thanks to @tokito-protection-gang​ for beta reading this, I love you honey pie! This isn’t exactly a drabble since it’s 300 words- a triple drabble.

Dio applied more pressure to her neck, as if he was trying to asphyxiate her, [Name]’s lungs were begging for oxygen as they would not last long without the periodic element.

Suffering, pain and agony were reflected on [Name]’s eyes, how could someone be so cruel? That was one of the aspects the Brando hid ever so perfectly under that porcelain mask he wore, he could deceive and lie to anyone.

“...please, stop...”

The vampire cocked his eyebrow in amusement, “Do you mind repeating what you just said, precious?” The sight of her being in pain and imploring him to release her from his grasp made the vampire chuckle, it was natural since he was the predator and [Name] was his prey.

“...stop,” she stuttered. The lass’s face was turning into a light shade of crimson, accentuating her already deep red cheeks due to the lack of oxygen.

How could she be so shameless? One minute ago, she was going off on him and exposing his manipulative tactics, calling him a megalomaniac and being cocky, but now she was supplicating to Dio to let her go?

“Before you eternally rest, I, Dio, would like to comment on the taste of your blood,” the blond spoke calmly, “it is rather sweet, somewhat similar to a burgundy wine, a tiny bit sweeter.” His black-coloured claws dug deeper in her throat, piercing her carotid artery.

It was a dangerous situation, yet [Name] decided to play a dangerous game which would cost her life, if it was what she thought it was, then there was a chance she could survive, “...blood?” [Name] was about to speak again but recalled her nightmare, if she were to address Dio as a monster, the blond would snap her neck, “You are a vampire-?”

“Correct, girl.”
