Watching The Mandalorian again. Saw the first season when it came out but none of the subsequent ones.
Goddamn, the mudhorn is such an incredibly incredibly bullshit creature.
How the fuck does something with multiple TONS of biomass survive in such an utterly barren desert?? What the fuck does it even eat?? Where does it get water??

Got to experiment with making new brushes this one! Unfortunately I also did the Procreate mistake of quitting without undoing the a canvas resize, so the full resolution on this one is lost. RIP.
Anyway. I saw part of the Elie Saab 2022 Fall Show (Collection? IDK fashion stuff) and felt it had to be Mand’alor Din. I combined a few different looks for it, picked my favorite parts of each.
Maybe I’ll make a companion Luke piece? That I don’t accidentally lock into being half-res? (sob)

Rewatching the Mandalorian S1e2 at the mudhorn fight, and I think it’s crazy how the space rhino swats Mando thirty feet through the air, then waits for him to get back up while slamming its horn on the ground like, “Get up punk, I’m not done with you yet!!”

It was a beautiful day out and Grogu was just sitting outside enjoying it. His dad was in the N-1 doing system tests. Grogu found system tests very boring, but he understood why Din Djarin did them. Bad things happened if your ship wasn’t in great condition. Like that time on Arvala-7 and the Jawas took a bunch of parts from the Razor Crest. That ship was never quite the same after that.
They did have quite the adventure though. The Mandalorian had tried to stop the Jawas from taking the stuff and had even disintegrated a few of them. Not really a great way to make friends, to be honest. Din had tried to take over their sand crawler thing but got zapped for him trouble and landed flat on his back on the sand. Then he had gotten help from Kuiil in negotiating with the Jawas to get his parts back.
Din hadn’t liked that at all. They were his parts to begin with and the Jawas had just taken them without asking. Not that he would have given them any parts even if they had asked. The Razor Crest hadn’t been blessed with a lot of spare components.  Sometimes Grogu was amazed that Din managed to get it to lift off of any planet, let alone get it to jump to hyperspace.
If it had been Grogu, he would have just taken the whole ship. He didn’t know if it was really that much easier for the Jawas, considering how petite they were, but it would have saved the Mandalorian a lot hassles. But then they would have missed all the fun with the mudhorn and wouldn’t have a clan name. That would have been a pity.
The Jawas has wanted a mudhorn egg, which struck Grogu as a strange request. All those parts in trade for breakfast food? They must really love those things. Grogu couldn’t think of any food he loved that much. Not even frogs. But the Mandalorian had agreed and they went off to find the mudhorn.
You know when something lays eggs, you don’t always think of the critter being big and mean. Usually you think of birds and fish and frogs. They weren’t generally the big critters on any planet Grogu had been to visit (which to be fair, he hadn’t been to many planets). The mudhorn was huge and hairy and it really seemed to like mud, hence the name.
It had stomped on Din Djarin pretty effectively after they lured it out of its cave. The mud pit hadn’t helped him at all. Din had pushed Grogu out of the way so the critter couldn’t stomp him, but he was actually much harder to stomp than that Mandalorian had been. The Force was a good helper to Grogu and he was grateful that he’d been able to use it to save the Mandalorian that day.
Although Grogu did feel bad for the mudhorn. It had only been trying to protect its home and eggs. Grogu was pretty sure Din understood those sentiments based on how he went after the Jawas. From Grogu’s perspective they should have tried to talk it out first, but none of them felt like they had the time or the wherewithal to do that. Grogu had a plan to fix that. He could give them all time.
The next time some giant critter tried to knock them down, or stomp them, or whatever, he would just make it take a nap, instead of lifting it up. So much easier to get a critter to fall asleep than deal with gravity, no matter what anyone said back at the Jedi Temple about size, etc. He preferred to wish them sweet dreams rather than warn them about the fall they were about to take.

As soon as The Armorer forged the Mudhorn sigil out of Beskar and affixed it to Din Djarin's pauldron, naming he and Grogu, "The Clan of Two", we knew this was the perfect Mom & Son tattoo ❤️ #thisistheway @bagman0827 @starwars @jonfavreau @dave.filoni @pascalispunk @bigeswallz #starwars #themandalorian #clanoftwo #mudhorn #tattoo #momandsontattoo https://www.instagram.com/p/CnlQoPRtrq6/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
