Hyrule(an Magic) Historia: An Effort for Archival
Greetings. It's my first time posting on this blog, so it's nice to meet you all.
The purpose of this post is to detail my behind-the-scenes effort to archive as many of the lost Hyrulean Paganism/Magic blogs and posts as possible. For those unaware, in the mid-2010s, there was a "renaissance" of The Legend of Zelda Pop Culture Pagan posts and blogs. The pantheon/practice went by many names, such as Mudoran Magic, Hyrulean/Hylian Magic, Hyrulean Paganism, etc. As a result, efforts to find remaining content can be complicated, especially when perusing tags. Different phrases were used for various blogs and posts, sometimes leading to dead ends.
Thankfully, there are some leads. @lostwoodstarryskies made a list of blogs, both old and new, here. This is a good start and helps navigate search engines such as Google more efficiently. Additionally, this post by the now-defunct @/hylianshrinemaiden (more on her later) lists additional blogs.
Now, to Twili (hylianshrinemaiden). While we (the Magic Collective) weren't in the same Pop Culture Pagan circles at the same time, it's clear she was a pillar in the community. It's a shame that she and other active members deleted their blogs, as Tumblr's archival system is half-functional at best. There is some hope of recovering her blog, however. @hyrulian-legends reblogged this post from her, listing various spells and resources from her. While it's not entirely clear if this list is her complete work, it at least gives names to her work. Through this list, I've had some luck on Google, and a surviving reblog of her Minish Cap Glamour was found here. I'm not sure what else is available, as I became un-frontstuck when I was planning on searching further. (Such is the way of systems.)
I plan on delving further into what remains, and I'm very grateful to the remaining community members for their advice on where to look. Many thanks, in particular, to @knightofhylia, @knightofhylia-sageofthetriforce, @wind-sage-serin, and @lostwoodstarryskies. Additionally, those in the Community of Hyrulean Faiths Discord server provide resources.
There remain some posts in the Collective's communal Likes that we plan on sharing upon adding to our Grimoire document, so expect those somewhere down the line. In the meantime, I'll continue my search and bring updates whenever possible.
Sincerely,
Vaati the Wind Mage 🌪️

I realized I don't have any hyrule specific spreads, so I'm working on putting some together. pardon my great graphic design I'm using ms paint and a touchpad
A good spread for when Calamaties hit! This spread is intended to be a good pep talk while giving you a nudge in the right direction. Use it to get messages from the Goddesses or with any spirit!

"Behold my knowledge and despair, child. For all my works have become infested with rot by the demon who claims this land. The dead walk, and my body fills with spores. My neutrality is forced to become the actions of evil - I fear my sister will watch me burn along with my library." "Cut out the rot, child. My knowledge must survive." "I... must... survive."

Emulating the Chosen Hero, Link
Tumblr media
As a Knight of Hylia, I seek not only to embody the Triforce, but also to embody Lady Hylia’s first chosen knight who was reborn as Link time and again.
I have done this to varying degrees for my entire life. When I was a preteen I styled my hair like Ocarina of Time Link and learned everything I could about swords. Legend of Zelda and looking up to Link really informed much of who I am and what interests me.
These days, I seek to emulate Link in virtue as well as activity. Given that Link is mute for the purpose of having him be a character that allows you to self insert, I assume different people have their own ideas as to who Link is. I always saw him as the quiet hero who may enjoy sleeping in but will answer the call immediately without complaint to help people who are in need and I have admired that for much of my life.
Another way I seek to emulate Link is to occasionally dress like him. It helps me to feel a greater sense of connection to Link and to his virtue as the Chosen Hero when I feel like I look the part.
Tumblr media
If you also choose to emulate a character you feel deeply connected with, have fun with it!

A lot of Ishizu’s cards got retrained versions that are wreaking havoc in the TCG at the moment. Here’s a handy guide to what’s new!

Hello friends,
I've cast the Library into the Void. It is gone. So now, I'm refocusing on myself and my own well-being. The repeated drama and the constant stress of being in charge of so many people wore me thin. And I can't exactly help to fill other cups if my cup is empty, can I?
Those who were there, and were left lost and confused; I'm sorry. You may have heard the call to gather elsewhere in a new place. You're welcome to it. The community will live on in some way or another. But it will not be the same, nor should it be.
It ought to be better. Make it better. *Be* better to one another.
I'm going to do what's best for me. Please respect that.
Cheers,
LoruleanHistorian

Hiya! I saw you made a post back in February about trying to gather an archive together of Mudoran information and magic. Back in 2018, I left tumblr for a while, but I wanted to gather up some Mudoran posts I found useful onto a backup google document so I wouldn't lose it. It's extremely rudimentary––a bunch of stuff copy-and-pasted over into the doc with absolutely zero additional formatting, fan art is mixed in with some random recipes and now defunct masterposts of dead hyperlinks, etc etc––but I'd be happy to share a copy with you or anyone else trying to archive all this information. I'm not sure how much of it would be useful, but I figure it's at least worth glancing at in case it contains any of that lost information, right?
Gods, you have no idea how much we've been waiting for something like this! Please share it with us, whether in DMs or in a reblog! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there will be some breakthroughs!

Light of Blessing, Spirit Orb, and Stamina Vessel/Heart Container Ritual
Tumblr media
Each of the orbs serve a different purpose, and it's best not to try and do all of these rituals at once. The orbs can be made of anything (crystal, metal, wood, rubber, cat toy w/e. I used marbles I found in the yard). It's a good idea to cleanse your item before you do the ritual. Doing this ritual will program this item to act as the blessing, orb, or vessel, so make sure you don't use it for unrelated rituals.
Light of Blessings are to purify and cleanse yourself of negative, unusable, and unwanted energy. Good to do as part of a routine.
Spirit Orbs are tokens of Hylia's grace used to imbue you with courage. Good to do after a huge defeat or before a challenging task. This is a transaction of power, so be prepared with an offering.
Stamina Vessels and Heart Containers are to restore your energy, especially if there is a specific issue draining you. Good for when you've lost motivation. Also a transaction of power but the source is more universal than straight from the Goddess. You will get what you put in! Good to do as part of a routine as well.
You will need:
Orb/Object you can hold in your hands
Shrine/Designated area for orb (bowl, pedestal, stand, bag)
Offering (candle, incense, food, etc)
Prep:
This is going to be a mainly meditation-based ritual so make sure you have a non-distracting area to do this. For a more ceremonial feel, wear white loose-fitting clothing. for the MOST ceremonial feel, wear a head covering.
Ritual:
Light your candles and incense if that is your offering. Set out any food or objects for offering in front of you. Sit or stand in a comfortable position. Close your eyes and take deep breaths, keeping your body loose but not limp.
Once you feel you have found a steady breathing rhythm, take your orb and fold your hands around it, close to your chest and pray.
[FOR LIGHT BLESSING
Light of Blessing, holy relic that imprisons and purifies ancient evil, may you shine upon me so I may be cleansed.
Take your orb and rub it in circles around your chest, imagining the negative energy being released from your body and absorbed into the orb. Feel free to cry, sing, stomp, jump, etc, whatever your body does to release energy.
Once you are ready, hold the orb in both of your hands. Take a deep breath and SLOWLY pull your hands away from your chest, still holding the orb. Imagine the negative energy being pulled away from your body. When your arms are fully outstretched, open your hands and offer the orb to its designated spot.
End the ritual by saying 'May you grant the strength I seek'.
LEAVE the orb until the next day/night change, so if you do this in the morning, wait for the sun to go down, if you do this at night, wait for the sun to come up, or however long you feel it takes for the orb to purify your energy. After that, you are now free to meditate with the orb, carrying it around, etc etc, but don't forget to repeat the process when it starts to feel heavy or your energy is wack.]
[FOR SPIRIT ORB
Goddess Hylia, I bring these offerings so you may grant me the courage to face the adversities ahead.
Meditate with the orb, tell her of the challenge you are going to face and what your best case scenario would be. Courage comes in many forms, it may be the courage to stand up for yourself, the courage to fail and learn, or the courage to walk away.
Once you are ready, open your palms to cradle the orb. Take a deep breath and slowly raise it up as high as you are comfortable holding. Imagine Her light pouring into the orb.
Once you are ready, slowly lower your hands back down, placing the orb against your chest.
End the ritual by saying 'May you smile upon me in my time of need'
You are now free to take this orb with you, meditate etc. Dispose of your offerings properly (burning, burying, eating, garbage can, etc)]
[FOR STAMINA VESSEL/HEART CONTAINER
Goddess Hylia, please bless me with the vitality to endure so that I may continue my quest for peace and balance.
Take your orb and rub it in between your hands, meditating on drawing in energy to you. If it helps, imagine hearts being added to your health meter and more rings added to your stamina wheel. Rub the orb as fast or as slow as you feel necessary.
Once you are ready/hands are tired, hold the orb still against your chest. Take a few deep breaths.
End the ritual by saying 'I shall go forth and bring peace to the land'.
You are now free to take this orb with you, leave it on an altar, etc. ]
Feel free to make any additions or changes to personalize the ritual, I would love to hear about anyone's experiences or results!

Mudora the Sword Oracle
“You can discard 1 other EARTH Fairy monster; Special Summon this card from your hand, then you can place 1 ‘Gravekeeper’s Trap’ from your Deck face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone. (Quick Effect): You can banish this card from your field or GY, then target up to 3 cards in any GY(s), or up to 5 if ‘Exchange of the Spirit’ is on your field or in your GY; shuffle them into the Deck. Alright! I got the dress right here. Maybe I can be a fairy too Princess, a fairy and a princess! I could have all the adventures I wanted at that point!
Tumblr media
"That is something you will have to convince her of." I gaze away from you, sliding your hand in mine as I begin leading us outside.
As we walk I make sure to keep myself between you and any guards we come across. Though, they make no attempt to cause us trouble. In actuality, considering the current condition of the castle, the day feels light and the sun is actually shining through the windows. It casts warm rays upon us and I can even hear bird song calling from outside. We honestly could not have picked a better day for an outing and I find myself taking a deep relaxed breath, as we make our way out the front entrance.
From there, we take a sharp turn to the left where the path becomes choked by brush and weeds. The stonework beneath our feet is heavily covered with years of debris and dead leaves, showing how long it has been since a gardener has tended this area.
"It's not much further from here" I nod inward, as I stop holding open a wrought iron gate. "Remember to be respectful and I will be here should you need me."
