It’s Week 2 of online spring quarter and it’s honestly not too terrible, but I miss my normal routine. I miss my walk to campus, I miss sitting in a crowded lecture room, and I miss being able to interact with classmates and professors in person, I miss my friends, I miss my apartment, and I miss my crazy-packed schedule. I’ve been catching up on sleep (literally catching up on three years of continuous sleep deprivation) and the change in pace has been nice, but I definitely miss the hustle of my regular routine

Everybody I know who is in a leadership position is scrambling right now to work out logistics of moving things online, which is beyond chaotic, but it’s nice that the challenge of figuring that all out is keeping me busy

Also I impulsively bought the new 2020 iPad Pro and it’s coming in the mail next week lol

spent my night watching notting hill and studying for a CET review test. lockdown’s extended and as much as i feel sad for those that are worried about what they’ll be eating for the next few weeks, i’m kind of relieved because i have more time to study and also because i’m not ready for school yet. i miss my dorm, though.

[015/100 days of productivity]

hello

for this month’s bujo spread i was inspired by a Van Gogh painting that i (awfully) tried to recreate in the cover page (i cringe because of those tables)

i decided to avoid dailys and instead use my usual calendar to write the very few tasks i have for the day

i’m really enjoying this very calming colour code i decided to go with, definitely proud of this one

This weekend I was able to do a little neuroscience studying for fun. My family friend sent me a package of fun stuff from Japan, which included a ton of cute muji pens! 😊

Now it’s Monday and I have to work again. My job has been quite stressful, but I think/I hope I am getting better at this whole working from home thing.

[31.03.20]  MARCH MADNESS

Due to a series of unfortunate events, we find ourselves somewhat ‘locked’ in our own homes. Because of COVID-19 we now find ourselves in isolation in hopes of ‘flattening the curve’ through social distancing. For the first two weeks it has been a struggle to find a new routine and resist laziness.

In those two weeks I was all the more obsessed over social media to check what is happening in my home country. I find myself endlessly scrolling through Facebook and twitter and see constant ranting because of the inefficiency of the government and ceaseless bickering due to differing political views. There’s a plethora of nonstop call outs here and there, magnified cancel culture of ignorant privileged people, mediocre tiktok videos, etc. It’s a heavily anxiety inducing shitshow to say the least. And at some point I took a step back from all the social media toxicity. Times like these its very easy to feel helpless because you feel like even if you donate or help in any way you can, it feels like its not enough. It’s easy to be swallowed by guilt for things that are in fact, out of your control. Shit like that is not cute for your mental health.

So in my usual form of therapy, I yet again wrote about my feelings. I can’t stress enough how writing on a journal on just about everything feels so therapeutic and calming. I also added some five minute stretches every morning and it really helps boost my mood for the day. Even if the day mostly consists of staring at my laptop. Also checking on family and catching up with friends always gets my spirits back. This home quarantine situation really can take its toll on you and right now it’s just about finding balance between staying positive (and productive) and acknowledging those negative feelings.

Hoping for better news ahead!
