Fussa/Paresse babbles because I can

Mutual pining. MUTUAL. PINING.

Paresse being extremely socially distant and unmotivated as a douji to say anything. Ends up just staring a lot.

Fussa thinking he's kinda cute but creeped out by the staring.

Canon ending happens.

Paresse gets a little more energy as a human. Band starts. Fussa asks him why he stares and he just blurts out that he thinks Fussa's pretty.

Instant gay panic 2.0, just add water.

The staring does not stop and Fussa is stuck in homo limbo for a while processing Feelings(tm). Unfortunately, Paresse reads this as rejection and before Fussa can properly gather the mush of queer her brain became... Paresse is with Rage. Not to mention she's coming to terms with her being, well, her.

Fussa comes out.

Paresse realizes he's still very attracted to her and at this point has spent enough time with her and gotten to know her so he's kind of... uh, oh. He's fallen in love with her. And yet he's with Rage.

One drunken binge later and oops there's a fight between him and Rage because he told the truth while drunk.

No one says anything about why they broke up. Paresse is a bit of a mess on both sides. Fussa tries to comfort him, but he's oddly distant until one day they're smoking together and she's staring at him.

He asks her why she's staring.

She says it's because she thinks he's pretty.

That she has for a long time, just never knew how to say it.

By the time she did, well... it was too late.

But it's just late enough now.

Rage is infuriated by how easy it seemed to be for Paresse to move on. But it's a comfort how well a certain bodyguard's hand fits in his when he bitches about it to him.

Thinking about James/Remus and seriously questioning why it's not a thing cause

1) the whole sun/moon lore I was talking about earlier

Hii is it okay if I ask you about what you think everyone's relationships are like for a fanfic I'm planning to write? Like, since you're a multishipper, what do you think caused Genshin to report Klint to Stronghart before confronting him? Why do you think Lady B was alone, far away, during her hour of need? What do you think of their characters in general (you mentioned you like Klint having parallels to Kazuma, do you have any more ideas?) or who they are like/who they contrast? What role does your version of Mycroft play in this story? I'm sorry I'm just so curious to know everything- sorry if this is weird or creepy and promise I'm not trying to idea steal for my fanfic, I have a lot of ideas of my own I just wanna get other people's perspectives!!

when it comes to genshin, i feel like that hinges on how you choose to characterize him since there is little that we do know. genshin came to great britain as a visiting student to learn about their police and judicial system. as a guest in a foreign country, it's not unsurprising he would choose to defer to stronghart's authority on the matter (of course, this is before he learns about stronghart's direct involvement). on the other hand, we know that klint and genshin were friends- close enough that klint knew he couldn't lie his way out when confronted by genshin (due to genshin's skill as a detective, or affection, or both. and by this point...klint wanted to be stopped). if genshin was aware of this, it wouldn't be unreasonable to think that a part of him wished to avoid coming to terms with the fact that he'd be ruining a lot of people's lives by exposing the truth (in a fun parallel to ryuunosuke), such as lady baskerville's. following that train of thought leads me to believe that he was close enough with her, or at least well-acquainted through his friendship with klint and barok that he weighed the decision to report klint with serious consideration. it's implied by his conversation with yuujin in the prison that genshin is the one who relocated her to the house where she gave birth in, so i can't help but believe he prioritized her and by extension her child's safety as he is a father himself. (and therefore was disappointed and angry at klint for jeopardizing their well-being with his actions.......which he ended up doing as well in a deliciously ironic night of bad decisions. lmao)

i have MANY questions about lady b (what did they do with the body after iris was born?? did holmes take care of that? it's not like they could report it to the authorities, that would defeat the whole purpose of being low-key...like did they make a deal with lowgate cemetery or some med students ...again😭). honestly, in answer to your question, i was surprised that she was completely by herself with zero staff but that does speak to the gravity of the situation so i understand the logic. however, and this might be an unpopular opinion/hc, that leads me to think that she believed her own family to be untrustworthy to look after her and iris. it's my headcanon that klint and barok's parents passed away when klint was around 14 (paralleling with kazuma losing his father, and then his mother the following year), so she would not have had any relatives on the van zieks side either to entrust her child to. i really wonder what her (and maybe by extension genshin's) plan would have been, had klint been executed following a proper trial. (i have some ideas, but that's for a later comic..)

regarding klint and kazuma, i fully believe that they are meant to be narrative parallels with the additional irony of ryuunosuke being more similar to genshin than his own son, because just like klint, kazuma has been "corrupted" in his pursuit of justice- until his friend makes him see clearly again (which is perhaps one of, if not my favorite moment in the entire game. i love ryuunosuke so much waugh). hm, they're also both older siblings now that i think about it haha. i wouldn't say i have many hcs adding to their similarities though, canon already does a good job at it so i don't have to say anything LOL. although in an everybody lives; no one dies modern AU setting i'm absolutely convinced that kazuma would consider klint to be the most annoying person on the planet, but that's because i love when things are funny lmao.

finally, thanks for asking about mycroft! he's not relevant to the main plot of the games, because i like to keep my fan characters as canon-compliant as possible- and since he and sherlock are both people of extremes, it's believable for iris to not even be aware that she has another uncle outside of barok, at least during the game timeline. mycroft has a low threshold for social interaction on a daily basis, and with his younger brother being a "world-famous great detective", he's asked sherlock to not talk about him. (mycroft does know about iris's existence, and might have met her once as a baby.) as for what role mycroft plays, he's a huge influence on sherlock and pushed him to pursue his ambitions in establishing himself as a detective, even if he questions sherlock's approach sometimes lol. while mycroft, like in ACD canon, would be considered "more apt" at deduction, sherlock has more social aptitude and mycroft actually considers his younger brother to be the better detective since he's hurt a lot of feelings in the past. he's the kind of person who looks like he doesn't care, but actually cares a lot. he's also arrogant but hates attention because i love characters who are a walking paradox.

as you might have seen in a previous post, i decided to have him and klint be childhood acquaintances (and later on, friends). keeping in line with my hc of the van zieks losing their parents very young and klint becoming a Lord way too early, having contact with people who aren't nobles like the holmes family from a young age helps to ensure that he stays more open-minded than his fellow lords who are likely all at different stages of corruption, and the same goes for lady baskerville. mycroft and klint are both older brothers, too, so there's something to start relating to each other with in spite of their very different personalities (their first impression of each other was not very good to say the least haha). the doodles in the post i linked are actually concept drawings to figure out everyone's dynamics because i really want to make a fan game where all the kids have one day to solve a mystery. it's extremely self-indulgent and might never get made but working on that project is super fun 🥰

MY GREMLIN QUEEN!

She was the first character I fell in love with and kept watching for. Ever since I was a kid I've had an interest in the witch trials so was so eager to find out more about her. And even though we never really got to hear about that (for tasteful reasons), I just love the way she speaks and her imagination and how she views the world.

I love how she stands up for her fellow women in the group, like her "you go girl" for Fanny when she gets with Humphrey's body, how proud she is of Alison for speaking up to scare the cult people off, and OMG her bond with Kitty is the cutest and most underrated dynamic! This is her little girl, she watched her grow up, she hated her father and sister for how they treated her, she comforts her when she's sad and puts her to bed, they're always giggling over something together, she cheers her on when she stands up to Cap, they are just the sweetest.

And being the multishipper I am, I love both her and Annie and her and Robin, or hell I've written the three of them as a thruple in my fics! Her and Annie especially just have amazing chemistry and such a great meet cute moment. Her and Robin is more queerplatonic, but they are the perfect gremlin duo and she will always be his lawyer.

In short, I love Mary and hate that they couldn't get Katy back to say her parts for the audio book, or a cameo in the finale as both would have been so improved. I do feel like the show lost something without her, as much as I still enjoyed it.

Thomally, I'm a thomally shipper as much as a thominho one. All I have to say is MAJOR "he loves me, he loves me not" vibes from some parts of the books. Thomas has (mostly) forgiven Gally for killing Chuck, as he was under the control of WCKD. This ship would need an uncanon storyline to help it, but it is a good ship if done properly in this book

Thoresa, okay. This one is mostly platonic. Thomas canonically friendzones her, so I don't ship them romantically, but the friendly vibes are real (RIP Newt and Teresa BTW)

Are you a fan of LusLus (Gallus x Ocellus)? If so, what do you imagine they'd look like as a pair on a deeper level?

If I have not made it abundantly clear by now, I am totally down with shipping literally any arrangement between these seven idiots (including Swift Foot, obviously), up to and definitely including any arrangement of poly ships.

Which is to say, yes, I am definitely a fan of LusLus. I may not make all that many quotes for them because, my multishipper ass aside, I do tend to gravitate towards specific pairings more often than others, but I definitely see the appeal and the potential.

The best way I can describe their relationship to each other, platonic or romantic, is that these two corrupt each other. And I mean that in the most wholesome, supportive way.

I headcanon Gallus as being a closet nerd. I think that, if he were given a chance to really engage with an academic subject that could hold his interest, he’d take to it like a fish to water. Gallus is actually surprisingly smart when you think about it.

His trial from the Tree of Harmony, while mainly a test of courage to overcome his claustrophobia, was also a puzzle that he legitimately took the time to approach empirically and logically. Sure, it was a simple puzzle, but it still showed a pretty methodical thought process.

(Plus, there’s having the foresight to have prepared his permission slip in triplicate. That was straight out of Twilight’s playbook)

I like to think that his relationship with Ocellus could really give Gallus a lot of natural opportunities to really let his inner Einstein out, something he would learn to appreciate about himself more and more as Ocellus would be nothing but a source of support for Gallus to embrace his own intellect.

On the flip-side of that? Gallus would be such a terrible influence on Ocellus by rubbing his snarky, sarcastic sense of humor off on her.

I like to think that, once Ocellus learns to overcome her anxiety and social phobias as she grows older, she would naturally have a much more, shall we say, dry wit. In fact, I can see her overcoming her anxiety almost exactly because of that. It’s a confidence-builder.

Don’t get me wrong, she’d still primarily be a sweetheart without a single mean-spirited plate on her exoskeleton, but I’d like to imagine Ocellus would be the type to indulge in the occasional good-natured sardonicism. And Gallus would basically fulfill the role of being the perfect sparring partner for her.

Basically, I view LusLus as the type of relationship where they each take a small piece of the other and build off of it to be a better, more complete version of themselves. And the best part is, you can see that even if you view their relationship as purely platonic.

Tldr: fuck both ccs. I sympathise with anyone upset at what happened and don't blame anyone who is still attached to their characters. Unfortunately, it'd be far too much work to wipe them off my blog so I can't, but at least know how I stand on both ccs.

Absolutely! I'm always going to be for Jean/Scott first and foremost, but I am a multishipper and there are lots of people I think she would be fun with.

Probably the main one is Jean/Ororo, I love their canon friendship and I think they would be a really good couple. (I’m also into Scott/Ororo, so Jean/Scott/Ororo is good too.) I think they complement each other well in battle and out of it, where Ororo is more pragmatic and Jean is more optimistic but they have a shared vision of what they want the future to look like and the determination to get there. I also like that they do in canon have an intimacy that is easy to read as romantic. There’s a scene where Ororo is on the brink of death and Jean comes in to save her, but Ororo asks her to wait so that she can see her parents in the space between life and death, and then she introduces Jean to her parents. Jean is allowed to witness such an important reunion, and Ororo even invites her to do so, because they are extremely close and important to each other. In the drama of their lives, they provide a space to be quiet together, and I think that’s a really solid foundation for a ship.

Jean/Wanda is also good, more for what I’ve seen the fandom do with it than for anything in canon (although their friendship in XMFC is adorable). The aesthetics of it, too, are just amazing, they’re both incredibly powerful women with space-y aesthetics. And they’ve both done things that they really do regret but they’re moving on from them and they refuse to let them define them. Jean-and-Wanda-raise-the-twins AUs are always going to have a special place in my heart.

Jean/Bishop kind of came out of nowhere and surprised me, but I’m not opposed to it. Bishop has the kind of unflinching morality that Jean finds so attractive in Scott (although Bishop’s code of ethics is different from Scott’s), and for Bishop I think Jean has a hope/optimism that is good for him. I doubt we’ll ever see anything more done with this couple, but like I said, I’m open to it for sure.

Then there are a whole bunch of guys where I’m like, okay, in another life, I guess this could’ve happened. Warren’s the most obvious one, but also I think it would be interesting to see her with Gambit or Kurt or Hank. (I didn’t really like the teen!Jean/Hank plot; I am talking about other universes here.) I feel like it would be easy to be like, yeah, in this alternate universe something happened and Jean and Scott didn’t end up together, so she’s with [other X-Men member she has a decent relationship with] and that’s just a thing that everyone’s used to.

With Warren, they are like probably quietly going through a divorce that they don’t want anyone to know about because they’ve always been the face of the X-Men and the rock on which everyone else depends but they’re really better off as friends. With Hank, it depends on which Hank we’ve got. Classic Hank, he and Jean are very dramatic all the time and have several elaborate rituals that everyone else finds disgustingly affectionate. With modern Hank, we get a seriously preachy Jean who is always 0.2 seconds away from giving him a lecture on why locking people up without trial is Bad, Actually. With Kurt, they both have heavy subtext with Logan (listen. I hate Jean/Logan but I’ll allow it in the context of this specific AU) but mostly Kurt always catches her in his arms when she’s about to fall and smiles his most charming smile and then teleports her to safety and she always gets super mad and goes full godmode when anyone hurts her boyfriend. With Gambit, I think you have to go full nineties with the characters. He does not have half of the growth that our Gambit has had and she is in her least subtle and most dramatic characterization. They fight regularly and then passionately make up only when one of them gets into danger. (As you can tell, I don’t take any of these ship opportunities particularly seriously.)

My problem is that if Jean and Scott are anywhere near each other in a story, I want them to be together. I think they exist, naturally, at the center of each others’ stories, and it’s really hard for me to entertain the thought of other Jean ships when Scott is in the picture. 😭 This may be indicative that there is something Wrong With Me, but mostly I just think that from the beginning, Jean and Scott’s stories have always been written to be about both of them together, and so their relationship is very fundamental to the characters they are today, and I want to continue their character growth together. I love characters whose narratives are inseparable.

ironically, trenda lmfao. romantically i hate them in every way imaginable but on a platonic level they are like soulmates to me. the parallel in the death cure of "you never know when to walk away from something even when you should" like they are that level of friendship where you can call someone out on their shit and neither party will be mad about it. they are in so many ways similar to each other but enough of their personalities differ that they can either pull the other back from the edge or encourage them when need be.

okay so i'm notably not a multishipper but i love both brenderesa and brinho in equal measure and have never been able to choose between the two. i guess brenderesa technically has leverage since i haven't written brinho yet but that's my own achilles heel to bear.

brenderesa as i said before has essentially no canon basis and exists entirely in my head. i love how messy and complicated they are. like they can be incredibly toxic to each other but god help them if they ever learn how to communicate they could flourish.

brinho has like a crumb of canon basis but that was enough for me in 2015 reading the death cure to be like O_O and i have never looked back. i've said it many times but they can make each other worse and better. i will pay someone to write a safe haven brinho fic.

as mentioned earlier i fucking hate trenda so much. both for the weird nonconsensual stuff in the books but also because everything about it feels so forced. again this is mostly book stuff but brenda was so clearly set up as a teresa alternative and the trilogy ending with them kissing was so like ??? okay feels like a weird time for this but sure. the movies luckily dial back on this a LOT but any time they interacted in the scorch trials especially i got a weird icky feeling.

Yeah. Haru has great chemistry with literally everyone, but him and Satsuki are one of the romances of all time. Do you see the conundrum my multishipper ask is in?

One thing that I really liked about the Another series that I think it did better then the main series is painting sacrifice in a morally conflicting light. Like, between Taka's attempted sacrifice not getting addressed Gundam and Nekomaru, Kirumi either lying or being deluded (I like the second one) about Ryoma being a willing sacrifice, Tenko taking Himiko's place, and Peko. Sacrifice is kind of glamorized...? if that makes sense. It isn't a bad thing per say, but I like what another did better.

Like, we got Hina's actions being addressed as messed up (affectionate) but Sakura was already dead by that point.

But in Another, sacrifice is presented in a wide variety of ways? Like, Ayame's is presented in a way thats close to canon. Its her choice to make, and she doesn't expect anything of Akane in return other than for her to live. (thats what makes it so SAD.)

Kinji's heart is in the right place, but it doesn't excuse his brutal killing of Inori from a writing perspective (that's not a bad thing!!! thats interesting!) He also made a horrible mistake in trusting Monokuma to keep his end of the bargain. Also, in some ways this sacrifice was self serving, because he'd no longer have to betray the group.

Haru's sacrifice was painted as a bad thing due to the way he went about it. He ignored Satsuki's opinions, which ended in her willingly facing her death to not have to watch her friends die. He could have had an honest talk with her, and when he discovered she didn't agree, ask Tsurugi to do the same thing. That way Satsuki would survive the trial no matter what.
