has

a

personality.

Don’t get me wrong, love the show and love the characters, but there’s no denying that the writing and plot wasn’t always 100%, and that’s widely accepted for the most part. But…conveying that he has no personality…the fuck?

I think some of his large defining qualities is his selflessness…

…his occasionally overly optimistic outlook on the those who have fallen into disarray…

…his determination and drive to end struggle…

…the intense concern he holds for others above himself…

Again, don’t get me wrong, I’m absolutely frothing at the mouth in excitement for this guy…

…because I got into the fandom through this guy…

But this guy, definitely has a personality. Perhaps a little unhealthily emotionally absent whether out of Primely necessity or not, but he definitely has definitive qualities that make him, him.

Tldr: Tfp Optimus Prime has a personality, he’s just a very emotionally constipated owl because he probably thinks that his burdens are his to deal with alone and he feels responsible. Look at Orion Pax ffs, that’s literally young Optimus Prime…FIGHT ME?

TL ; DR --

season 1 ivor has BIG ASS BAGS! season 2 ivor has a much more bright vibe to him. if gabriel tells the world about the true nature of the order, ivor finally changes and can let out his rage! he doesn't have to be exhausted anymore! he realizes he can let out his emotions and be happy while also being the best brewer ever! he's no longer tired.

they appear lighter in season 2. not as dark. not as baggy. i'm sure in season 1 he was so tired and exhausted from all the stress the order gave him. the fact that he believed he could trust them, that he could be himself around them, and then having everyone turn around and break his trust like that is horrible.

i had a talk with @ellegaard about this -- considering ivor's past, i'm sure ellegaard and the other members have heard about ivor and his outstanding brewing ability. what with him being the best brewer in the world. but because of his backstory with his mentor and the chaos that ensued from that, i believe soren would have been afraid of ivor and his abilities. i'm sure he would have fed the order a lot of his own personal agenda about what to feel about ivor, and to be scared of him.

the way i told ellegaard's mun:

of course when ivor began his role in the order he was helpful. he made them enchanted armor, potions, everything of the sort to help them through all their adventures. but because of the past he has and because of soren being so scared of him and shoving that agenda onto others, they reacted with anger. and anger is always a secondary emotion, usually to fear.

ivor can get very, very vengeful. though the backstory is just my personal headcanon ( whether you take that or not as your way of seeing ivor is up to you ) , if you include it that is one time he's been vengeful. canonically, the wither storm is proof enough that he can be an extremely vengeful person. i'm sure that when he would get upset at the members after realizing what soren was doing, it was more so with revenge than it was healthy communication.

especially after everyone started saying he was evil, that they expected him to do awful things, and that he wants nothing but to hurt them. he never wanted to. that's why he stepped in when magnus/ellegaard dies. because he never actually wanted to hurt any of them. he was just so exhausted of how he was being treated. no trust at all because of his history, and then lying to him this whole time about being a hero. when really it was all a fraud.

a huge part of the reason ivor wants to be a real hero is also in my backstory. again, whether you take it as your own canon or not is up to you but i'll explain it a bit here. his mentor forced him to do things he really wasn't up to doing. killing creatures for their magic, pushing away empathy for others, stealing and thieving and the like. his mentor taught him how to be a machine that has no emotions so that he could focus on nothing but potion making. ivor never wanted to be someone like that. so the idea of being a true hero is astounding. only to have that taken away is absolutely heartbreaking. of course he would be upset. of course he would be stressed!

but then in comes jesse and the new order. they don't let his history hold him back. except petra, but petra's a young woman and ivor knows he fucked her over. he dealt with a whole lot of emotions that he hadn't settled before. especially with his mentor telling him that emotions aren't exactly something to accept. anger and exhaustion make someone do regrettable things.

the new order don't judge him. they enjoy his excitement, his knowledge. and this time, they can be real heroes! he doesn't have to hold back or anything! and it feels amazing to finally let his true self free. and he can finally have people to let his intelligence rub off on. he wants to teach any of the members his brewing, his knowledge, his wisdom.

and depending on whether gabriel lets the truth out or not depends on the true change to happen. if he doesn't, ivor doesn't really change. he doesn't let out that rage. he doesn't feel any different. sure, jesse and the others help him feel like himself, but they've all moved on and have done their own thing. he is left alone again, selling enchantments, potions, and advice like he was before the order. back to stage one.

but let's just say gabriel admits the truth. ivor can finally be free. he feels like a huge weight has been lifted off his shoulders. the rage is gone. he doesn't have to be exhausted. he finally learns that he can be a true hero, show empathy, be happy, and let his emotions out all while being the best brewer the world has ever seen. he doesn't have to hold anything back. the shadow the mentor has cast over him is finally gone and he can live freely now, without the worry of being less than.

ivor can rest assured that he can be himself. and it was all thanks to jesse and the new order.

finally, this old man can get some much needed psychological rest.

Tried to go to sleep. Woke up again. Not super surprising as it's only midnight and I usually sleep around 2-3 but this headache WILL NOT go away ughhh. Let me try to articulate myself for a moment.

re. Previous postings of mine: Despite Crane not thinking of himself as attractive, a weird amount of people have hit on him. He's [server canon] gotten several threesome invitations, been kidnapped and almost strongarmed into an impromptu orgy once before the couple he was talking to got distracted and left an opening for him to break out of their house, and even had the James Jesse version of the Trickster openly hit on him. Jesse's offer was immediately declined, as the man was under the impression that Crane is capable of actual human emotions and would have reciprocated his romantic feelings. While he can certainly feel something if given the time and depending on the person, he's aromantic. And of course he's by default interested in some people more than others, typically due to similar personality types or personal values/morals.

Honestly, he's about average as far as looks go. The mun is hardly one to judge people based on appearances, but my interpretation of Scarecrow certainly isn't conventionally attractive according to classic Western white supremacy. He's got Marfan Syndrome as well as an underbite, and is visibly disabled in other ways. Half of him is metal and the cat claw nails tend to put people off. On all levels but physical he is a giant, horny cat. I just find it funny that a double digit number of people [RPers, otherwise] have viewed him as some kind of sex bombshell when he drinks his own fear toxin for the purpose of spitting it back up in people's faces, has a habit of self mutilating, and as a general is deliberately written as hard to like let alone love.

My name is Jess, I host the resident ghosts around here at Something Spooky Breeding and Developement Center! Xe/xir, 25+, Sinnoh native. Breeder by profession, and a hobbyist coordinator in yesteryear, though I've been a battler too. (How else would I be able to raise Misdreavus for both purposes?)

We also sell accessories handcrafted by me and the Mimikyu, poffins, dusk stones, spell+cleanse tags, and various tea and powder blends inspired by the ghost magic practiced by me and three of my Mismagius. I DO, as a matter of fact! Even though I do appreciate everyone that gives me a chance to write with them, I have some that are my preferred ones already.

@foghidden is my main exactly because of that. I love her and her muses a lot and how amazing she is at writing and developing characters. Not to mention how she masterfully makes edits and moodboards. Overall, she's very dedicated and we're usually on the same wavelength, so it makes things so easy. Her ideas are top notch and she's so sweet as a person, I care a lot for her! She's my bestie around here and first priority!

And I am biased but I ADORE our Laura/Travis threads as well as the Kaylee ones. And with Emma, I am in love with Sam and Emma interacting as well as Jess. HONESTLY? I say this but I also ADORE the threads with Wednesday, and if I keep going down that rabbit hole, I can just say that I adore ALL OF OUR THREADS, because it's true.

@saecrifical was one of the first people to interact with me and I always appreciate that a lot. They also write really beautifully and I'm always looking forward to all the characters they bring to the table!

My biased threads would be mainly the Hannah/Emma ones, but oh my gosh do I love all your other muses too aaaaah, we need to write more for sure!

@quarryhag is and will always be my preferred Dylan! Just top 10/10 Dylan content, made me love him even more and cry because he doesn't have enough interactions with Emma (or Travis). We need that friendship, but thank goodness we're writing them out! They're also very creative and great to talk to, so bonus points!

The one thread where Emma and Dylan are going to the radio station together is my favorite, I think. And also any one with Dylan interacting with Travis because gosh it's so interesting to see their dynamic.

Could be a coincidence buttttttt…I’ve had this in my head for a hot minute, but they look hella similar? Like think of the plot potential. Take away the grand depictions of the golden age in Ratchet’s pre-war summary to everyone, and the decor and roads/walkways…are they not similar?

Regardless, what better way to piss Optimus prime off then for Megatron to “rebuild” Orion Pax’s precious Hall of records in his vision…

…or to rebuild it how it really was…I mean look at Optimus and Megatron’s reaction to it in Darkest Hour.

Like everyone thinks it’s this gorgeous cultural epicentre and then it’s just…not that? And in turn, is this not evidence to further suggest how tone deaf higher caste bots like Ratchet, who would’ve most certainly been a doctor, is ignorant to how ungolden the golden age was?? Like they weren’t even in the golden age anymore when Ratchet narrates the pre-war mumbo jumbo.

Think about it…

Note how Ratchet’s perception vs. the potential of Megatron’s perception are starkly different…

How can we trust Ratchet’s viewpoint of the story where he paints this one-sided pedalstalled Orion Pax and hell sent Megatronus, who were both campaigning for the same thing? Would it not be right then to assume Ratchet would also paint the golden age, in this case the Hall of records, as this illustrious thing when it was just another building??

There's Chris X Esme with @realmyths. Really cute courting vibes with these two. Plus I love the mun so any ships, romantic or not, I'm down for! I love their writing so much!

I have a few with @siiinfully that I dig alot. Chris X Harper for the childhood friend romance they got going on. Chris X Eleni cause it's nice to see a normal variant of Chris just trying make it. Chris X Tamara is sweet and a little kinky. I love how sweet she is to him honestly.

I really really really love his budding ship with @brooklynislandgirl's Beth. I think they're growing friendship/relationship with each other is played really well. Like it's not super instant, feels like a really slow burn between two childhood friends. One of my favorite things that I enjoy is that Beth really speaks her mind to Chris. Like if he's being stupid, she'll say it and there's some brewing stuff from Jess I really like.

Dictatious and Ruby are living in skull village. Dictatious is Bular’s advisor and rRby works in a restaurant in the village. Nika and Dee are like 10 in human years and go to gumm gumm school. Alex is about 6. She also goes to school. Nika has the power to grow and talk to plants because Nari gave Nika some of her powers when she was a newborn. Alex and Dee eventually got powers from the Janus Order, with Alex having ice powers and Dee having fire powers. And Alex has some demon powers thanks to Odd when she was born.

Milo is married to Jermaine and has four kids. Malcolm is 6. And the triplets (I forget their names) are 4. Me and Mun haven’t discuss where they live so either in the forest or Trollmarket. Milo is a writer and a scholar and Jermaine is a doctor/healer and does experiments on the side.

Hugo lives in Trollmarket with his three wives, Ash, Afric and Vera. Hugo is a blacksmith. Between the four of them, they had I think four kids. But the mun’s and I made more on discord. Maz being the oldest  being 6. I don’t know what the women do for a living. Hugo also has fathered three children. Hanz, Mie, and a Gumm-Gumm name Bogar. Hugo was previously married and had one daughter before he and his ex wife Tara divorced. 

Sasha lives in Trollmarket with Anastasia. Anastasia was a changeling working in the Janus Order. But Kat gave Anastasia her baby familiar and gave the familiar to her original parents. So now she is a full troll. Sasha and Anastasia have a child name Taya. She is 2 by now. Sasha is a teacher for the whelps that live in Trollmarket.

Kat and Bular are in a relationship. Bular is in charge of skull village.

Blinky, Aaarrrgghh and Moonstone have four kids. They also adopted Kat and Yuki

Blinky and Dictatious parents are alive too thanks to Jermaine. Blinch was a bad troll who abandoned his family to become a powerful wizard. He tried to steal Alex to gain her demon powers. But now he lost his memory and Della and Blinch came back from the dead, live in Trollmarket. Blinch can’t use his powers anymore. Blinch also trained Hugo in the past.

Have you made any new friends this year in fandoms your muse isn't from? Who? - This year has been the year of getting abducted into the Stranger Things fandom by @thefreak-86 and this nerd named @talesfromthevoiid which then gatewayed me to a bunch of amazing people like @zoomingupthathill @theolderh3nderson @helltothefire @havvkinsqueen @surfkng @vitaegratis and so many more! I've also been hanging around Stars Hollow with @offorester and @erncst and @paddyfuck which has been an absolute blast! And then I've also been adopted into the Euphoria universe by @depictedmorada @depictedblue and @deeplyflxwed and it's been such a joy! 

Have you made any new friends this year in the fandom your muse is from? Who? - I've been lucky to have a few Trubies show up this year! @headsxwillxroll and @itsacrowd brought Erics and @depictedmorada created such an amazing AU for Maddy and I'm so blessed to have connections for Jess in her canon verses!

How have you grown as a rper this year? - This year's been the year of imposter syndrome and feeling like I don't really have a place on the dash and I've done quite a bit to work through those insecurities and it's been a lot but I definitely feel like I'm in a better place than I was at the beginning of 2022

Have you learned any new skills through your rp blog this year? - I learned a lil Javascript which was fun lol

Have you read/watched/played anything new thanks to the rpc this year? - Literally the only reason I watched season four of Stranger Things is because of @thefreak-86 and then I went back and did a rewatch after it fully claimed my brain again lmao.

Have you made any new blogs or added any new muses this year? How have they been going? - I have some ideas for a new blog for 2023 but we'll see if that gets off the ground! Otherwise it's just been verse building here on Jess.

Talk about one of your favorite threads that started this year. (If you get multiple of this ask, talk about multiple threads!) - Oh gosh, there's so many and I think I'm gonna kinda cheat and say the arc that @thefreak-86 and I have for Jess and Eddie. It's technically three threads but it's so good. If I have to pick one standalone, though, I've probably re-read our initial rockstar verse thread the most hahah.

Talk about one of your favorite headcanons you posted this year. - There was a lot of headcanons around music this year and I think my favorite is that Jess is a nu-goth fan in the 80s hahaha

Talk about one of your favorite world building you posted this year. - All of the world building you and I have done in our fated mates verse has been so much fun and the fact that it's grown a bit to include others is one of my favorite things!

Did you the mun learn anything about yourself this year? What? -I'm really a sucker for a good fated mates trope lmao
