True Crime Books, Murderabilia
I'm a True Crime reader (I don't feel comfortable saying i'm a "fan" of true crime, because real people were murdered, including animals) I do like the term "Murderino" for people that read true crime books, watch true crime documentaries, listen to true crime podcasts, there are also collectors of items associated with serial killers (correspondence, art etc)
Murderabilia is interesting, but obviously controversial for various reasons. I never have or ever will idolize serial killers, mass murderers, torturers, executioners, cult leaders/cult members but it is interesting to me. I'm interested in psychology, sociology, psychopathy, criminology, psychological profiling, forensics, understanding the state of mind of a serial killer. I don't have hybristophilia, I have never identified with being a hybristophile either, I don't idolize, sexualize or feel any attraction/ sexual attraction to serial killers. However I can understand why some people would have thought the teenage rebel Charles Starkweather, Ted Bundy, Richard Ramirez, the Casanova killer and other serial killers, murderers were attractive due to how charming, polite or friendly they acted, but that was a fake persona they created to lure people into a false sense of security, to gain their trust. Serial killers know by creating a fake persona, that people in general, or anyone can be easily fooled, deceived, manipulated, abused. They use/manipulate/coerce the person, to get what they want from them, but once they are no longer of use to them, they discard the person, psychopaths use people, they have a different mask/fake persona for different people. They don't feel empathy, remorse, the don't care if their behaviour, attitude has caused you pain & suffering, it means absolutely nothing to them, this includes harm, pain/suffering of a animal/people in general. Some psychopaths are a emotional/sexual sadist & sexual narcissist. Anyone can be love-bombed, into a relationship, that could be potentially abusive, violent, that involves gaslighting, coercion, coercive control, narcissism, sexual narcissism, spiritual narcissism. If it involves a cult, the cult leader, or cult members will lovebomb you, but then test you loyalty, what your really willing to do to prove to the cult leader/cult members that your worthy of being in a cult. (One of my exes is a sanguinarian vampire & Satanist in a vampiric/satanic coven of vampire witches that are satanists. He wanted/expected me to go to prison for him, they kill people on purpose with magick (witchcraft)
In my opinion true crime books should have a trigger warning for: animal abuse, the torture, mutilation, murder/sacrifice of animals, torture, rape, mutilation, cannibalization, necrophilia, sacrifice of humans/animals in a ritualistic context. Not everyone can handle reading the graphic detail, of what specific serial killers did to their victims, it made me feel physically sick, I literally almost vomited a few times, due to him dissecting roadkill/animals & people he murdered and because I have a very vivid & dark imagination. I have watched documentaries about Jeffrey Dahmer, read several books about him, so I already knew who he was before I watched the new Netflix series with one of my favourite actors Evans Peters (from American Horror Story) as Jeffrey Dahmer. Good examples are what Richard Trenton Chase did to one of his victim's which was a baby, Jeffrey Dahmer killed more than one victim that was only 14 years old, a man that was sadly deaf & mute (these particular murders, among all the victims especially pissed me off, it made me feel sick, it's disgusting)
For any victim(s) of crime, murder, a serial killer, any of the victims that have been murdered or anyone that has survived they are traumatized, scarred by what they experienced & they didn't deserve what happened to them. They didn't do anything to deserve being treated in the way they were treated. The victims of crime those that are dead, survivors, should be remembered, they should be treated with respect and so should their family & friends. People don't always seem to realize that the survivors of a serial killer, of crime, attempted murder are traumatized, scarred by what they experienced, it would obviously be difficult and painful to talk about what they have experienced. Obviously people would want to know all the gory details, but it can be done in a respectful way. The more I read about serial killers, the more I notice red flags in people's behaviour, attitude, perception of people and of sex, women in general.

Lately I've been looking for autobiographies written by serial killers and most of the titles I search are very difficult to find. There doesn’t seem to be anything on Overdrive and the ebooks are simply not available in any online stores.
I recently ran into a title called "The History of a Drowning Boy" (Dennis Nilsen) and discovered that the UK banned it from publication under something called the Obscene Publications Act. (I don’t know law stuff. I’m repeating what I read.) From what I understand, this is an outdated law that was bullshitted back into relevance for this particular case, specifically to prevent the publication of this book.
This is making me wonder if there some kind legislation in the US that also makes these books kinds of books difficult to access. Or perhaps some kind of obscenity policy affecting ebook stores like Amazon and iBooks.
I don’t mean to be lazy. I’ll continue trying to answer this on my own. This question just feels like something you might have some insight on.
--
I don't know offhand. I do know that there has been considerable debate about murderabilia and serial killers'art. Basically, people think it's pretty horrific that serial killers get to profit off of shit like their autobiographies while their victims' families are still around, watching in horror.
Amazon is heavily censored. It's just not obvious most of the time because mainstream published titles only rarely run afoul of the algorithm and almost never get deleted outright. It's certainly possible that some title is being suppressed, but I doubt that's actually what's going on here.
The History of a Drowning Boy seems to be available all over the place. If I had to guess, I'd say the other books you were looking for are hard to find because they're enough older that an ebook was never made.
IME, most books from before the last 10-15 years never had an ebook, and many of them never will.

so i recently bought a book called Making Evil: The Science Behind Humanity’s Dark Side by Dr Julia Shaw. i haven’t started it yet, but- besides it having a notes section for cited sources (fun)- it has an index section so you can find where specific subjects are in which pages of the book (organization:)!)
so! i’m gonna just list off the specific words i saw that i found odd in general/without context, or words that were in subsections of other words, or words i associated with each other because they were close despite it being in alphabetical order lol
disclaimer: this is a book about evil things, so obvi it will mention dark things like murder and various degrees of SA. this is your warning.
