She had an idea but you know she wanted you to answer. "Pulled an all-nighter." You left out the fact that you hadn't actually slept in days. Soojin sighs, "What time are we going to the orientation?" You stopped to think.

"Wanna say 7? 7:30? Why not call Minnie?" Soojin's girlfriend, also Your best friend since middle school. Granted you knew her first. "No, she's sleeping." You sighed, "I could've been sleeping." She laughed at that, and you rolled your eyes. You both knew that wasn't ever the case.

I was talking with @night-at-the-musian last night about this hc that I had and I thought I should touch base here. I’m not sure if I’ve posted about this before. If I have, I apologize in advance, but I’d like to discuss it again.

I was thinking about Larry (when am I not) and touching on the fact he does not have the best track record with relationships. Erica? Divorced. Rebecca? Fucking disappeared. Amelia? A wax statue. That one girl at the end of the second movie that I forget her name of? Not in sight.

And apparently, from Ian’s info, he was gonna get kissed??? By cleopatra??? Not sure how I feel about that.

And then there’s the og script of the first film with him… having a romantic relationship with Sacajawea??? Thats really conflicting

But this just really feeds into the fact that Larry has a hard time keeping people in his life. And sometimes, it’s not even his fault, but I think it also feeds into the mentality that it’s his fault. I, unfortunately, know from personal experience how that feels and it’s a VERY very real thing.

It’s even sadder with the fact if you factor in my hc that he has a hard time with affection. It’s not that he doesn’t know HOW to give affection, it’s just the fact he’s been taught by society that’s not how men are supposed to be perceived. So he has this toxic mentality fixed in his brain that he must uphold this stereotype while also needing the love and touch of another person.

What tops the fucking cake is that he really has no one. Sure, he went back to college, but he’s a man in his 40s at this point. It’s not like he’s in his prime. And he doesn’t even have anyone to land on like any friends or family, because they’ve all left.

Lawerence Oswald Daley is a fucking tragic character. And by god, I want to give him a hug.

natm headcanon: jed reads classical literature (dante, homer, chaucer, gilgamesh, etc) and knows a lot abt it. [inspired by how he calls larry “bocephus” in natm 2. bucephalus (bocephus) was alexander the great’s horse!]
