West Virginia Angler Reels in Record Musky

A West Virginia angler caught a state record muskellunge on April 30 in Braxton County. Chase Gibson of Mount Clare, WV, caught a 54.0625-inch, 39.64-pound musky at Burnsville Lake, breaking the previous record for length (53.5 inches) held by Joe Wilfong since 2017. Michigan 2021 trout opener and the Lower Peninsula inland walleye and northern pike seasons open Saturday, April 24. In Upper Peninsula waters, the walleye and northern pike possession seasons open Saturday, May 15.
