My favorite thing about Saudi life is that when you enter a house around a prayer time, even if you don't know them, first time visiting, the first thing they ask is if you prayed or if you needed to pray that current prayer. They rush to bring you a prayer mat and show you a quiet space where you can pray. I just love how this is a norm, a paramount yet natural part in their life. Allahuma barik.

How long have you been Muslim? What lead you to Islam?
6 years, الحمدلله 🤍 I was raised Christian but struggled with the Trinity from a young age. Can’t really explain it besides fitrah & and an innate inclination towards Tawhid. I met a muslim for the first time in 2016 when I was 16, and initially asked questions and talked about faith out of curiosity. I ended up going out of my way to learn more on my own though, and eventually after a couple of years, I said the shahada in 2018. I didn’t tell anyone I wanted to convert, not friends or family or even the muslim I knew. I was scared of backlash- and caving to backlash… I’m a chronic people pleaser 🥲
Alhamdulilah for everything. Despite my hardships after converting, there was still goodness that came from it. I learned how to set boundaries & how to speak up for myself. And the muslim I knew then? Yeah, we eventually got married❤️ together we now have a 3 year old son and are expecting a little girl in just a few weeks inshallah!

Are you familiar with the saying "life doesn't come with a user manual"? Well, it does. It's called the Qur'an and it contains everything you need to know: the rules, the do's, the do nots, the guidelines, the rewards, the punishment, and for those who learn better by listening to other people's experiences and relating to them, it does come with an important section of stories of the previous clans and generations and what happened to them in hopes that we be warned and take caution. Whatever situation you might be in that has you feeling lost or indecisive, the answer is in the Qur'an, the solution is in the Qur'an. Such a blessing we underestimate. La hawla wa la quwata illa billah.

They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like livestock; rather, they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless. Surely We have created for Hell a lot of people from among Jinn and mankind. (7:179)

"A Palestinian family in Tal al-Sultan camp, west of Rafah, decorates its tent in preparation for the month of Ramadan in order to preserve Ramadan customs and bring joy and happiness to the children to alleviate the effects of war." from Belal Khaled, 02/Mar/2024:

How long you'll be fasting? How fasting works? Can everybody do it? Is it hard? Can you please share somethings i have some friends who are talking about it and want to know about it 😆
Ahhh i love these kind of people!!!
Ok so tomorrow (march 11) we start fasting and it lasts about one month.
We are going to wake up at night (time zones makes it different) but we all wake up at night around 2 am to 4 am and we eat whatever we want,i usually eat what i eat to breakfast and when the prayer starts you cant eat or drink anyting until dinner it lasts more than 15 hour or smth i guess. We dont eat or drink anything during day and then when the prayer starts we eat and drink until 4 am or around it.
I dont think it is hard at all if you are at home or resting but it is hard when you are working. I remember my mom used to get tired the second day and cant fast. But i will be fasting until if there is something.
Not everybody can, you have to be muslim, you have to be not sick, pregnant, breastfeeding, travelling, old or on your period.
Usually people open their fasts by eating "hurma" (date) and drinking water. And there are classic desserts for this month. And a speacial kind of breed.
We share what we eat during that day and it is better to eat with people.
I am excited to fast again this year🥹
