Any long fics that are must read thats not E rated. I feel like I stick mainly to the E rating because Its shameless I mean the shows pretty explicit but I wanna give other fics a go
Hi! Sorry, this ask was in our inbox for an embarrassingly long time. We thought it was the easiest ask, but the hardest part was to stop ourselves from outting too many fics on the list :D Must read is a very relative thing and there are tons of other amazing fics that deserve attention, but this is what we decided on :)
Our Stubborn Love - In which, after years of being separated by more than just prison walls, Ian and Mickey try to find their way back to each other.
None the wiser - The real time accounts of Ian visiting Mickey's dingy diner and slowly becoming his friend.
Intro to Quantum Dating - College AU. Ian’s determined to make the most of college life. He thinks that means finding a stable guy to settle down with but he can’t stop thinking about his RA, Mickey.
Help Me (Tear down My Reason) Detective Mickey is investigating a case involving Ian as the prime suspect.
broad-shouldered beasts - Six years after Mickey goes to jail, he's released on parole. He does his best to build a "normal" life and a relationship with his son while juggling the scars of his past.
While We're Making Other (People's) Plans - Post S10. Mickey gets roped into being a wedding planner.
Life on Mars - Remember when a drunken Ned stayed over the Gallaghers house in S3 and got kicked out before morning for groping Lip? What if, instead, he ended up staying a while and wacky hijinks ensued?
sideways - Post S5. Ian attempts to make amends. Mickey tries to stay strong.
these days, life is better - Ian realizes Mickey is the most romantic guy on Earth.
lemme show you the ropes - Post S10. Family dynamics shift after the wedding. Mickey's not sure he's ready. Not sure he even knows what family is.
cut ties with all the lies - Canon divergent set between 3x06 and 3x07.
Rookie Mistakes - Hockey AU. Ian Gallagher is the right wing to Mickey's left defenseman, so it's not even that weird when Mickey makes a point to learn everything he possibly can about the kid. Really.
Twenty-One -  Mickey never had A Master Plan. His only plan in the last decade has been Find Ian. Instead, he's basically raised a kid, accidentally started a slow burning revolution, and failed everyone he actually cares about.
The Luck You Got - Post S4 canon re-write.
Heartstrings High School AU where Senior Ian finally meets his best friends brother who recently returned to finish school.
Lost Lullabies - Mickey Milkovich, former child star turned action movie star, runs into his old co-star, Ian Gallagher, out on the street in the middle of a winter night. When Mickey takes him in, he doesn't realize that Ian has the power to completely turn his new life upside down.
looked like a teenage runaway - Ian is seventeen when he moves to the South Side. Lip tells him to stay away from the wrong people, but no one remembers to warn him not to fall in love with the neighborhood thug.

Never read a graphic novel before. This was a nice introduction.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Simple pretty drawing. Starts lighthearted, becomes more serious as you go along. Heartwarming, cosy, sad.
It's your usual coming of age story. Boy meets boy, boy falls in love with boy (it's mutual), boy thought was straight, gets confused. Boy has had a hard time being gay, struggles with mental health.
The show is pretty good, too.
Oh, and my favorite character is Charlie's little brother.

Must read books suggestions please.....
MUST READ BOOKS HELL YEAH
ok I have quite a few but I’ll keep my list at 5 for now 🤗🤗🤗
1. Pilu of the Woods by Mai K. Nguyen
I did this one as a buddy read and it changed me. The story follows a young girl as she helps a forest spirit find her way back home. The themes deal with death, grief, and how we deal with emotions, namely by bottling them up. It’s a graphic novel that’s beautiful.
2. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
I don’t read a lot of YA books but this one is amazing. It’s rooted in the Black Lives Matter movement, featuring characters who are dealing with the unjust death of a friend by the hands of police. Starr, the main character, is passionate and gives us a strong narrative fired with emotions, sometimes conflicting.
3. My Family and Other Animals by Gerald Durrell
Flash back: I’m in my IB Biology class and my (favorite) teacher borrows me this book.
I wasn’t into it the first time I read it, but the second time? I ate it up. It’s a true story by Gerald Durrell on how his family up and moved from England to the island of Corfu, and writes about his adventures with the wildlife and his siblings, who could also be considered part of the wildlife. It’s witty, funny, and gave me a newfound appreciation for life & nature.
4. Snapdragon by Kat Leyh
Holy cannoli, did I love this graphic novel. It’s got everything! Lgbtq rep, witches, taxidermy, self discovery, old love, and family drama. You’re following our main character Snapdragon as she befriends the local witch and how they start to bond with each other. Snap’s mom is super cool, too! Actually, all the characters are rich and well put together.
5. The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
Accompanied by the amazing artwork of Dave McKean, Neil Gaiman spins us a story of mystery, growth, and self-realization. It start with a murder that leaves a baby in the care of a graveyard full of ghosts and a mysterious protector. As the boy, Nobody (Bod for short), grows up, he must learn the tricks of the graveyard and be hidden from a murderer who is still looking for him. Does this sound interesting? It’s even better once you read it, trust me.
That’s all for now, but those are some of my favorite books that I think I’d consider “must reads”. My favorite book is Watership Down, but as it is large and not everyone’s cup of tea, I’ll leave it off the list for now. If you’re interested, it does feature an epic journey taken on by a group of rabbits looking for a home. Check it out if you want!
Thanks for listening to me ramble!

Annie Walker is on a quest to find her perfect match-someone who nicely compliments her happy, quiet life running her flower shop in Rome, Kentucky. Unfortunately, she worries her goal might be too far out of reach when she overhears her date saying she is “sounbelievably boring.” Is it too late to become flirtatious and fun like the leading ladies in her favorite romance movies? Maybe she only…

Alan Moore is a British writer who has made a significant impact on the comic book industry. His unique writing style and character development skills have earned him worldwide recognition. Here are ten of his most noteworthy works that have contributed to the evolution of the comic book medium.

Moore's captivating storytelling and David Lloyd's striking visuals make this a must-read for anyone interested in political philosophy.
Swamp Thing (1984-1987): Moore's run on Swamp Thing transformed the character from a B-list monster into a sophisticated, philosophical work of art. His writing and Stephen Bissette's haunting artwork created a gothic masterpiece that set new standards for horror comics.
From Hell (1989-1996): From Hell is a graphic novel that delves deep into the psyche of one of history's most infamous killers: Jack the Ripper. Moore's extensive research and Eddie Campbell's evocative illustrations make this a chilling and unforgettable read.

Miracleman (1982-1989): Moore's groundbreaking run on Miracleman deconstructed the superhero genre and redefined it for a new era. His writing, alongside artists such as Alan Davis and John Totleben, created a modern masterpiece that explored complex themes like mortality, power, and the human condition.
Promethea (1999-2005): Promethea is a fantastical journey that explores the intersection of magic, imagination, and creativity. Moore's philosophical insights and J.H. Williams III's stunning artwork create a unique, innovative work that is a feast for the eyes and mind.
Supreme (1992-1996): Alan Moore's run on Supreme revitalized the character and paid homage to the golden age of superhero comics. His writing, alongside artists like Rick Veitch and Joe Bennett, created a clever, self-aware work that celebrated the medium's history while pushing it forward.
Tom Strong (1999-2006): Tom Strong is a love letter to pulp fiction and classic science fiction, with a twist. Moore's writing, alongside artists like Chris Sprouse and Alan Weiss, creates a charming and delightful world that evokes the spirit of old-fashioned adventure stories.
Top 10 (1999-2001): Top 10 is a police procedural set in a city where almost everyone has superpowers.
