how does Sasori see? is it... does whatever he has going on mimic visual input? is he a sensor? when he is inside hiriko does it extend to the false eyes on THAT puppet? does he get rid of everything OTHER than the ocular nervous system?

I think it'd be really interesting if he used sensing to see, because it would mean he has such a specifically honed range/ability of it. he tells Deidara to stop silently flipping him off. Deidara is 2 rooms away. he just starts throwing shit at the wall.

there's something something about Shimano having a tiger, about Ryuji having a dragon; avout how these two men contrast and show "this is what you are unchecked" about two of our protagonists

but all I'm focusing on is- do we ever see anyone else with a Hannya tattoo other than Majima? I can't remember and it just means my brain is running around like "Majima is the worst enemy and closest companion to Kiryu of course there cant be another Hannya it would be BLASPHEMOUS" and that Hannya yokai are women consumed by jealousy (source) and that Majima is a contrast each time we see him with himself

but I also like to think if we track canon from 0 to 6 as a true timeline; that the other Hannya was Nishitani. who (meta retroactively) inspired Majima to be who he was off the leash, unbound... hmm.

-Mama is a strong woman, she was a mason and architect apprentice

-She was chosen because she has almost next to no chakra signature, like, none. Not "oh low civilian levels" she just doesn't have one. The working theory here was that her lack of chakra meant it wouldn't interfere with the fetus developing the mokuton (control over wood/nature/trees)

-She was unmarried because her grandmother was a matchmaker, took one look at her when she was coming into early adulthood and said "no one except a Shinobi would be happy with you, and I'm not letting a Shinobi into this family. cope."

-She doesn't resent her grandmother for it, she... for all the civilians living in a shinobi village are more free thinking, there's still expectations a civilian has for a wife. She is neither conventionally pretty, nor is she docile

-She wanted to be a kunoichi when she was younger, but see point two. She becomes a stone mason out of spite for the shinobi who told her she would never be strong enough to specialize in taijutsu

-When she ran away from the village she did so essentially with the intent to die, if she wasn't killed by wildlife or root agents; without access to a doctor she knows it's likely she won't survive

-Momoji is a fox spirit, she has 2 tails and well on her way to her 3rd. She offers to help Mama because she feels it will garner her favor with higher spirits for helping a mortal (2 for the price of 1 mortal savings, Momoji thinks, I really lucked out, Momoji thinks. Oh Momoji.)

-Now pregnant, and toting around a fox spirit Mama is like. I have no money, and I'm 4 months pregnant. I am keeping this baby out of spite.

-She finds a civilian with Momoji's help and he takes her as a mistress, he's.... unsavory but he keeps her fed and clothed and safe during her pregnancy and let's her keep the baby

-Suzu is named by Momoji

-this is Momojis second mistake. Momoji your trapped now. (Not really she can leave whenever. Emotionally? Yes.)

-Mama keeps Suzu safe and away from danger, she never lies out right. She tells her child that their father doesn't know they're alive. That Momoji saved them both. That they're very special and they need to Not make those sweet flowers grow where people can see them Suzu

-Suzu would not have the Mokuton if Momoji hadn't been involved. Suzu is technically part fox spirit, as well

-This freaks Mama out for all of 4 hours. Than she figures if Momojis sticking around then Momoji can damn well teach HER child how to use those powers.

-Momoji, having been a mother fox before her accession to the spirit world, is baffled by how SLOW Suzu's development is

-Mama is baffled by how FAST Suzu's development is

-They do not bring this up around Suzu, or Mama's patron.

-Years pass, Suzu grows up, around 4 their growing and development slows down rapidly to be more in line with human standards. Suzu would pass as being a 6 year old

-At 6 Suzu has fairly decent control of her powers, much to Mama and Momojis shared stress

-Suzu kills their first man at age 6. Mama wonders how to explain death and murder and murder in defense versus how they'll be blamed any way because they're not men and just decides to book it back to Konoha

-Tsunade is, understandably, pissed. Kills Danzo. :^) Yay! This is as much involvement as Mama is allowed into the handling of that side of things, that she and her child are safe from him and under her protection

-Momoji is delighted to be offered a place in the village, this is her third and final mistake. You're in too deep now Momoji

-Mama reads some books and ask Momoji is she can transform. She can. They kiss.

-Suzu is out, 6 years old, looking around 7 (is that quantifiable? Mama thinks it is. It's not fair. She wants more time with her precious Suzu having chubby little cheeks.) buying food. They have a step stool and a basket.

-Suzu you delightful little thing. Everyone loves you

-Kakashis taking a depression walk (patrol. roots been taken out for real and as much as Tsunade can knock people the fuck out, ANBU need to be out on the streets making sure people are safe. also his dogs kicked him out.) and sees

-The heart attack he has is, he thinks, FAIR!

-His smart choice was not approaching Suzu, and instead booking it to find Tenzo while having a minor panic attack. Momoji is doing an amazing job at pretending to be a themed blanket in Suzu's basket

-back to Mama, so, turns out. That thing where she has no chakra signature? Yeah she's not suddenly some OP super amazing shinobi, but she's a naturla born sensor. As a civilian she didn't know wtf that meant, and since she was denied a shinobi education still isn't really sure how good she is at is. Momoji says she's "okay, but there's been better." Momoji your point of reference is spirits this isn't fair

-What that means is Mama KNOWS Suzu's other.... contributer? Parent? is in the village. And freaking out. She knows this because she remember she was used to taunt him into compliance for 5 months. She knows he's freaking out because well his normal signature is a flatline when it starts

-So she's just like. Momoji. You leave our child's side and I'm divorcing you ♡

-Momoji is delighted. Mama is usually big on independence and that Suzu is relatively safe as long as they're and unknown. Momoji thinks Suzu is the most fragile creature known to this world because they can SKIN their KNEE this is a BIG DEAL MAMA STOP LAUGHING.

-Tenzo is torn between wanting to see Suzu and being like. Oh Dear Oh Well. Kakashi has a wierd sense of boundaries and relastionships (yeah) and thinks Tenzo has to be involved. The kid SMELLS like you get OUT THERE Tenzo FOR ME? 🥺

That's about all I have on her story and how other people play into it. Solidly at least. I know I want Tenzo to play a part in Suzu's life. I want to develop her sensing skills and how that helped her survive through being used as an experiment in Root and how it helped her survive and keep her child safe between than and returning.

I want to play a bit more in the space of Momojis skills, how people feel about having a fox spirit living in their village, and how the death of Danzo this early on plays into stuff that happens later later on the Naruto story line.

But also I just want Mama to look at Tenzos emotionally repressed ass and go "I can't believe I'm going to kiss him" "You don't have to." "Yes I Do. ♡" and her grandmother finding out she's alive and being out in the hospital for a week because she fell down laughing in relief and good natured humor about how she said "no shinobi" and Mama said "mmm okay! fox spirit than!"

edit: SORRY I kept it unintentionally vague because I HC Tenzo as trans but he had nothing directly to do with the. Process. Other than agreeing to have some ninja bullshit genetic magic cells taken or whatever. He would have been mostly out from under Danzos thumb by this point in canon I think but that never means fully as long as someone is that politically powerful and manipulative; Danzo got 5 months of Tenzo anxiously not wanting a civilian and unborn child to get killed because he acted out.

which is why mama knew on some level Tenzo was in the village but didn't quit register that that might be an issue until Tenzo is anxious again.
