I thought the reason ABA wants Paracelsus to be human is because she’s based their whole relationship on what she’s learned through osmosis about romance and humanity? So like, she wants to be husband and wife specifically because of societal expectations, and wants him to be human to fit into that image even more?

I would say she did base her ideas on how to 'act human' from prolly books and things around Frasco in her 10 year isolation. We dunno what books she was reading in Frasco, other than apparently a lot of books containing idioms and things that she never quite remembers right (this is based on her random quotes back in XX/ACCENT CORE). She was also obsessed with laws, so I think that's how she view society really - through the words of law dictating behavior. And that included the idea of men and women, married couples etc. etc.

Her GG World Xrd entry implies she immediately fell in love with Paracelsus, decided they were married, and the natural next step in her reasoning is that he needs to have an artificial body like her to as you say, fit the image/idea of what they should be in her head.

Honestly, I think Daisuke kinda wants to move away from this being her sole focus for years in STRIVE, hence why no one brings it up during the conversations between all characters in any route in the arcade mode, other than when ABA falls back to that plan and drags a protesting Paracelsus away off-screen.

I think it's kinda resolved in her conversation with Elphelt, where she admits she understands what 'love' means academically, but she doesn't know what it really means to be in love. So it kinda applies to her singleminded plan to put Paracelsus into a human body? Like the 'why' of it is not even clear to her, and her getting better is her finally let go of that obsessive plan.

Also since Paracelsus is revealed to be able to shapeshift into whatever she wants, or what he wants for that matter, that means there's a natural way Paracelsus can get a human body now. With consent from both parties. I personally think that may actually be where the story is headed, plus if Para learns to shift between any form he wants, then ArcSys won't have to worry about how A.B.A. remains playable in future games! Para just turns back into an axe-key when needed (or she swings him around in human form lol).

Hi, you said in your bio that you're chronically ill. I was wondering if you had any tips for knitting with chronic pain (assuming that's your flavour of chronic illness)? Or do you know anyone who could give me advice?knitting/sewing is my sanity-saver.

I use compression gloves, only knit with specific weights of yarn (the ones that are the least painful for me), and try to take frequent breaks, which for me looks like switching hobbies every 30 minutes or so (knitting to spinning to knitting, etc). I also do my best to be very gentle on my joints when i can, altho i honestly rarely have the choice at work.

Personally i have joint problems and migraines, so thats what im correcting for/trying not to make worse. Helpful advice probably varies depending on what youre trying to correct for. Really my only general advice is "when it starts to hurt, try to stop" and "if possible, save the painfully difficult stuff for when youre doing well, and make the easier stuff your usual work"

If anyone who sees this has got other tips please feel free to comment them

I knew I'd get something in my inbox after re-blogging my old opinion piece about the Empress Ending.

Let's answer this one sentence at a time.

Why the world and Nilfgaard can't be changed by someone else not Cirilla?

Nothing in my re-blog states that it is only Ciri who can change the world and Nilfgaard. Anyone with a goal and determination to change the world for the better (or worse) can. But in the games' Empress Ending, Ciri decided if she wants to do this, she must do it from there: in Nilfgaard. By finally accepting her birthright as Emhyr's heir apparent.

She might be one of the main character for the Saga but not the main character for Nilfgaard (and even being Emhyr's biological daughter doesn't make her "familar" to nilfgaardians.)

She is a "main character" for Nilfgaard because she is an Emreis, the direct bloodline, Emhyr's firstborn and only child. And in the ancient monarchies, kingdoms are passed down from parent to child. In the absence of a direct lineage, there is the heir presumptive (Morvy-bebe!). Morvran may not have seen Cirilla in person but he, and perhaps the inner circle and those close to Emhyr knows Ciri is Emhyr's daughter and successor, and in Morvran's own words, "ceding the throne to Cirilla is the best the emperor can do". There is your "familiar to nilfgaardians", at least to those who really matter.

There are other characters to save the world and especially Ceas'raet.

Definitely, there are others who can take up the mantle of emperor/ empress. We all know Morvran becomes one regardless if he is married to Ciri or not, the Jan Calveit succeeds him. But this is the Empress ending, and in that ending- as much as you dislike it- Ciri becomes the new ruler and will use the coffers and her power to change the world for the better.

Then there are the Alternate Universes, thank god for fan fiction. We can create AU's where some sympathizers of the late Stefan Skellen picks up his cause and turns the empire into a democracy. Radovid or Djikstra finally has the numbers and resources to stage an invasion and assimilate the empire into one big Northern Realms.

AU's of original characters who has the support of the masses and overthrows the current regime... Just about anything! Anything is possible with fan fiction!

Personally, I like the AU where Morvran is actually Morvranne and becomes the Empress of Nilfgaard 👑👑👑.

I had to suffer through years of allison worship

Well I want to start by saying I’ve yet to read the books(been busy with class) so my opinions of Allison are mostly formed from fanfics and tumblr. And I too am happy to meet someone else that doesn’t like her.

I honestly am just annoyed by her. She just comes off to me as nosy, pushy and unwilling to take no and mind your own business as an answer(which is half the reason I don’t think Andrew would ever do more than tolerate her). I know fics have a tendency to exaggerate characters worst traits but her betting on Andrew and Neil’s sexuality and their relationship, not to mention her(and some of the other foxes) seeming purposeful blindness to the fact Neil and Renee are as dangerous as Andrew and perfectly capable of defending themselves against him if necessary. I’m not saying she doesn’t have a reason not to like or distrust Andrew and I know the feeling is mutual but Allison’s(and some of the other foxes) blunt hypocrisy in refusing to see Neil and Renee as anything other than innocent flowers that needs to be protected from big bad Andrew just gets on my last nerves. Not to mention how most people write her forcing Neil to buy clothes outside of his comfort zone and get haircuts he doesn’t want or like(or he simply doesn’t want to cut his hair) as if his opinion on what he looks like doesn’t matter. Mostly for me it’s Allison’s(and most of the foxes honestly) inability to accept a plain no and mind her own business when it comes to Andrew and Neil and their relationship.

And I know this fandom tends to ship Allison and Renee and I get it but I just don’t see it working long term. I read a fic where they were in a on/off relationship after graduation for years before calling a quits because they were two very different people who lived/wanted to live different lifestyles and wanted different things out of life , so they ended it before they lose their friendship too which is now my personal hc and how I see it going for them. I read another fic where all of Allison’s betting spiraled into gambling and her invasiveness grew into outing young employees l(by being nosy and betting on their sexuality) that work underneath her and while even I think this is a very bad take on her, I could also totally see this happening like it not completely out of character for her.

Honestly, I never really considered her not really being a proper fox and only got accepted for the PR. But when I read your tags I was like huh you’re not wrong. Her past(I think correct me if I’m wrong) is mommy and daddy not agreeing with how she wants to live her life which is sad but I wouldn’t really call it fox material.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any more model sheets related to Goldie from the comics and Ducktales 1987, so I only have these pictures. Interestingly, the first picture shows the prototype Glittering Goldie (Goldie O'Gilt) drawn by Carl Barks before he wrote "Back to the Klondike". Also, the third image shows Goldie who was supposed to be in the Ducktales Remastered game, but unfortunately didn't appear. The second and fourth are sketches of Goldie drawn by Don Rosa. AAAAA like honestly I really don’t care for tsugemina but I know they have a decent sized jp fanbase so I get the vol 12 sacrifice once again💔 but kurodachi as parents my God naina… I can see it so clearly like in my dream they’d be the sweetest most loving parents ever like in my dream it was weird cause it was little snippets? But I can just see it… adachi falling asleep with their baby girl already far into dreamland on his chest and kurosawa using every molecule of strength in his body not to start crying (53636 burst shots were taken), kurosawa buying matching pyjamas for all three of them (cherry print I’m sorry I’m a weak, weak person…), that classic moment of them laying together in bed ready to sleep, wedding photos framed prettily on the bedside, when all of a sudden the baby starts crying and they both make a move to get up but then one of them stops the other with a gentle hand with the ‘I’ve got it, rest yourself’ line oh I’m insane. Positively INSANE

You know. I've been thinking on it. Why would Aba, who is very clearly into Paracelcus as a key, even bother with a human body Fer him?

Yeah it’s one of those questions or plotlines where I think maybe ArcSys actually did just kinda drop the ball and not think up a good reason, or not beyond much then she’s horny for Paracelsus and wants to get closer to him.

Like she only abandons the plan in -STRIVE- cos Para is literally falling apart so she finally has a mission that’s actually pretty dire. She does have a line in one of other endings in arcade mode, where she seems to think that Paracelsus wants to be in a human body, despite literally years of him protesting that ‘no, please stahp’.

Even then that doesn’t explain her own obsession with the idea from the very beginning.

I guess it IS kinda sweet that she sees Paracelsus for the being he is rather than just fixating on him for being a giant key, so it’s not a paraphilia situation. It’s clear she’s in love with the being that is Paracelsus, and she wants a relationship with him and not just because she’s attracted to giant keys.
