A couple of weeks ago I got a message that said "You've been asking for money for too long." I understand it. It must be very annoying to open social media to distract yourself from your own problems and have people try to make you part of their needs. I know that neither my family nor I are entitled to your money, or even your sympathy, but there is nothing else I can do. This is the receipt that my brother's medicine comes with, there you can see that each round of his treatment costs 6,740 soles, which is equivalent to 1,925 USD.

I know that 46,000 USD is too much money, it must be more money than my parents have been able to produce in their life, but there is nothing else we can do. A one-year treatment is the only option that oncologists have given us, only after that could we think of something different. My kofi goal is set at 20,000 because I knew that putting in the full amount would be impossible and I have only been able to raise 24% of that. I really don't know what I'm trying to say, I just know that every day I feel bad because my brother is sick. I really appreciate your help, I don't expect each person to donate 1000 USD for strangers on the other side of the world, every penny you have given us has been for my brother. I wish there was a way to achieve this goal.

I was making him watch the anime with me (he’d never seen the games) and the topic of dahlias necklace and poisoning of godot came up

When the characters say the poison was in a bottle the size of an eye dropper, my brother says “ohh did she poison an eye dropper that he used? Is that what the mask is for?”

…god I WISH. That makes sense!

(While writing this I remembered a chemist friend telling me poisons making you blind is a thing that can happen, but since I didn’t know that and it sounds like it’s not common knowledge I stand by my claim that a poisoned eye dropper would’ve made more sense to the layman player (aka me))

Edit: okay maybe it’s common knowledge? Idk I can’t read every persons minds. I can say I myself thought that was fake anime bullshit tho so I think the point still stands in my case. Eye dropper poison woulda been cool and made more logical sense to me

What it's like living 3 houses away from your brother, the "when he's at work" edition:

Your sister-in-law was not raised by the same woman you were, obviously, and so she is in no way an aggressively protective Mama Bear in potentially sketch situations

So when strange people pull up in her driveway and stay there, she calls you instead, and then you have to go down there to be the Protective Auntie/Sister Bear and figure out who tf they are and why they're at your brother's house

And not for nothing, but when one of your neighbors see you tear out of your driveway and race down there, they know something's up so they mosey on down to keep an eye on things because your brother is a dumbass but people like him for some reason

Today, it was a misunderstanding because my brother is, as previously stated, a dumbass and didn't warn his wife to expect anyone. Once it was settled, the stranger in question was on the phone with my brother like, "Damn, man, your wife has the neighborhood SWAT swarming us."

While his companion looks at me and says, "You're the big sister, aren't you?"
