16. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Share one of them?

Ok so you remember this little baby:

Well, the first bullet point is already completed. But look what I started at 1 am before I went "wtf am I doing?" and went back to sleep.

(Ugh, I should've cropped this better before I put this here 😣 ) Anyway, Coronation chapter, yaaaaaay!!! This one is gonna be so fun I am looking forward to see how this will come out. I know you guys missed my beautiful friendship moments with Bowser and Peach, so that'll be there. If you remember my "Finding the Balance" fic you know I kinda touched upon Peach and Toadsworth relationship shifting a bit as they transition from that father/daughter to advisor/ruler dynamic so to speak so a little bit of that in there. I feel like the second point can also relate to all the other toads as well seeing as they all had a hand in raising her and now she's going to be the one over them now. I think I have her age here set around 16-17 ish and it's that struggle of being seen as someone they can trust and taken seriously despite her age vs how they still maybe see her. I'm leaning towards making her give this cringy speech during the process, which is where this screenshot is surely leading. Gotta remember this is where her and Bowser's alliance is officialized. I'm gonna do my best to make it really good for you all 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾☺️☺️☺️.

54. What’s your favorite part about the fanfiction writing process?

When it's done 🤭. I feel like I've written what I've wanted to the best I can, and it's another thing done . It's ready to be shared on the internet, and I love that for me. Also, I'm able to go indulge and treat myself to other fun activities for a while.

67. Do you prefer prompts and challenges, or completely independent ideas?

For now definitely independent ideas and those formed from conversing as you (Spocky) really would know (AO3 comments between me and Spocky 👌🏾). I feel like I would do so good with prompts if I tried them but there's also a little part in my brain that's like....no 🤣. When I think of the prompts I see here and people sending them, I'm like "Ok if I did this, what if it's not what they were expecting it to be 🤔 and they just don't like it" or something along those lines... it might sound crazy but that's just how I think about it and heck It's already a challenge to make my own stories how I want them to be. Oh and if the prompt/challenge is combined with a deadline to submit...ugh that's something else 😳

another s2 only watcher here. I watched the Tudum panel and it was basically my intro to the show. My 2 big takeaways were Simone and Jonny’s chemistry is 🔥🔥 and Nicola talked over everyone (the 🤧 insertion was pathetic). Her crying over the show’s diversity on KC, saying she “let” s2 have its moment, the constant clout chasing, etc really turned me off of her. And she shaded RJP huh? But she gets treated with kid gloves even by the anti 🤧

Honestly aside from the NC of it all, that's a pretty good intro to the show. I wish I could back to that moment. I was so happy and excited to have Jimone as Kathony who had amszing chemistry. Sweet Chari as the lovely and wholesome Edwina and a wonderfully adapted version of TVWLM that was similar to S1's close adaptation and I was interested to see how the sideplots would connect to the main story and romance while elevating the characters and setting Ben up for his season.

Imma be nice and say she looks adorable here and it's always great to have an ally or maybe even a fellow Community member 👀 but I'm not one to speculate sexualities on a public platform like this so we'll leave it at this. Though the meltdown from those creeps - who ship N&N despite Newts being in loving relationship with Jade - would be funny af

The Choose Love organisation also seems to be a good cause and she does bring the eyeballs so at least the attention on the organsation is good!! Tho I am side eyeing the POC inclusion flag colours esp after the way she's treated Regé and Marina.

As for JVN Hair Deal, I can't find anything new? The last post she made was in September being excited for it to launch. Even if she is their brand girl now, honestly her getting brand deals isn't a crime. Good for her I guess if she wants she can go retire and be an influencer.

The annoying part was how Simone our S2 LEADING LADY was sidelined by production when they partnered up with Pat McGrath. I'm giving Pat McGrath the benefit of doubt in that situation (I did an ask on it here) and they didn't get to pick who from the show would rep them. Because let's be real it was founded and is being run by a black woman, the titular Pat, you think she wouldn't jump at the chance to promote the products catered to darker skin people??? So that one I fully blame production and their brand coordinator for deciding a white woman was a better representative for a black owned make up brand over their literal Indian Lead of that season.

Also for this alleged current deal - not trying to excuse it but rather explain why NC got it again - it's finally her season 😒 how can we forget they remind us every fucking second and she's friends with JVN so she has that personal connection. He probably knows her best out of the cast and asked for her. And of course as Production's Sweetheart, the show sent her to do it.

As for the kid gloves thing, it's mostly with her fans. Most people I know who dislike her now like I do after being burnt by her, we're pretty scathing towards her actions. But I will say we are very cautious of how we talk about her because her fans LOVE to scream about how every single person crictising her racially ignorant bullshit is fatphobic. I don't disagree that there is a nasty part of the fandom that is fatphobic towards her but not most of us. Like we literally do not care about her weight, that was never in the question, her personality and behaviour is. All in all I assure you there's no treating her with kid gloves here.

What reshade do you use if you don’t mind me asking?

I don't mind at all but I actually don't use reshade, I've always been too chicken/lazy to try it.

I'll put how I edit my photos under the cut if you're interested.

I highly recommend downloading the NoGlo and NoBlu (I use the darker option) mods from @luumia. They help modify the EA lighting to make it better for screenshots. It makes the sims look a less washed out and gives it a warmer tone.

Here are the graphic settings I use:

Aside from that I use the photo editor tool that comes with Microsoft. If you have a pc, you right click on the image and select "edit with photos" and it allows you to crop, add filters, and make adjustments. I spent time playing around with the expanded "light" settings, the overall "color" setting (I didn't find any benefits from the expanded "color" settings), as well as the "clarity" and "vignette" settings (cut off in the screenshot).

The settings I usually use are:

Contrast and Exposure at +20 (If the photo is really bright already I'll reduce the exposure)

Highlights and Shadows at -20

Color at +30

Clarity at +50

Vignette at +20

I highly recommend taking some time to play with different editing settings or the different features on reshade. I found my current editing settings by just playing around with the same screenshot with different settings and seeing which one I liked best.

I also recommend trying out the variety of different editing tools out there! I've tried a lot of the free editing tools and I think they all have some great features but each person has their own preferences on which one works best for them. Some swear by one tool and hate another while someone else may have the opposite feelings. Find what you like and what works for you!
