Here he is! Another wonderful Bucky cross stitch, this time by artist Liz K Parkes (@eklixio). This was done for Marvel Trumps Hate 2022 and my auction winner was quite patient with me considering I started this in April 2023. I love that we have access to so many wonderful fan artists and that they are so gracious with sharing their art. Please support our fan artists!!
On to MTH 2023!

A super wrinkly update 👉👈 and he's in the sun!
Dream Stitch Update 11 🧵 🪡
Tumblr media
How is this only (almost) 28%?
I'm still blown away by how this looks up close and bamboozled by how striking he looks from afar. This is the larger trail of sand from his hand 👇 *I'm still working on it* It has five different colours so far and many more to come.

Will I ever sell this pattern? No. Find out here as to why.

To cope with… well, you know... ::makes vague gesture:: EVERYTHING for the last 3 years, I’ve been puttering away at a series of cross stitch projects to cheer myself up through the effective combination of (1) swearing and (2) stabbing.
10/10 highly recommend. Here’s what I’ve made so far:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ID: Photo 1: Overhead photo of a group of 9 cross stitch hoops and a rectangular framed cross stitch. They contain various swear words and motivational messages related to swearing.
Photo 2: Overhead photo of a cross stitch hoop with black fabric and the word "fuck!" stitched in rainbow gradient lowercase cursive letters, circled by rainbow French knots. The hoop is surrounded by bobbins of thread in rainbow colors.
Photo 3: Close up photo of a cross stitch hoop with the word "fuck!" is stitched in rainbow cursive letters, surrounded by French knots.
Photo 4: Overhead photo of 4 cross stitch hoops in navy blue or white fabric. In small text they each have repetitive swear words stitched: (1) goddamnit, (2) oh shit, (3) fuck, and (4) bitch.
Photo 5: Overhead photo of a framed cross stitch with blue fabric. The white large-font stitched text reads: "Don't give up. You can swear the whole time. Just don't give up." There is small yellow cursive text stitched inserted with a caret in between "whole" and "time" that reads "motherfucking goddamn".
Photo 6: Close up photo of a cross stitch hoop with pink fabric. The purple and silver stitched text reads: "Maybe swearing will help?"
Photo 7: Close up photo of a group of 7 cross stitch hoops with fabric that is either white, navy blue, pink, or light blue. They each have repetitive swear words stitched in a small font: (1) bloody hell, (2) bitch, (3) fuck, (4) oh shit, (5) assorted swear words with tangled thread, (6) goddamnit, (7) assorted swear words and insults. /.End ID]
Crafty details and more info under the cut.
Many of these (especially the mini hoops) were done in between working on larger projects, to take a little break from full coverage pieces, or to use up leftover fabric or leftover thread. I’d never finished the back of an embroidery hoop using felt before, and did several of the hoops so I would have a chance to practice my blanket stitch and whip stitch. I also wanted to experiment with dyeing fabric, and getting more practice with French knots.
Fabric and size details:
Each of the small hoops are 3-inch with 14-count aida.
The rainbow fuck! is a 5-inch hoop with 16-count black aida.
The pink Maybe swearing will help is a 5-inch hoop with 14-count aida (dyed in grape koolaid, lol!), and uses DMC Satin Floss #S762. (Never again!)
And the Don’t give up piece is 8" by 10" on 14-count Nordic Blue aida.
Pattern credits:
Lettering for the rainbow fuck! hoop was modified from Oh Wow Stitch on Etsy.
Font for the Don’t give up piece was from adapted from SuncatcherStudio.
And I've seen the quote "maybe swearing will help" stitched a bunch, but wanted to make my own pattern for it. I had a lot of fun hiding some grawlixes among the flowery vine. :)
Totally okay to reblog but please do not repost to other sites. Thanks!

2023 cross-stitch gift for my sister.
I hired a pixel artist from Fiverr to make the pattern, using the Internet-famous Miette as a base.
First time stitching on gold aida. It’s very sparkly in a way that the photo doesn’t do justice, but it also causes subtle color differences to get easily lost, so the next time I’m using this kind of cloth, I’m using an image with lots of bold colors instead of one where most of it is subtle variations of gray 🤦
Piece is approx. 8” by 10”.

I dug around to share some cross stitch with fandom friends. I'll share some here, for fun, and to remind myself that I should be stitching more.

Wow. My local Michael’s framing dept did an amazing job with the stitch I made for my son & DIL for their 2nd wedding anniversary. I love that patterned mat, and it compliments the blue of the flowers perfectly. The blue is the same color as the bridesmaids dresses. I’m giving it to them this weekend, fingers crossed they like it.

I stitched these snowflakes years and years ago, but never posted them. Sharing them now because it's highly unlikely I'll manage to get my butt in gear enough to actually stitch any holiday things this season.
The pearl beads and antique glass buttons were super fun to work with. The metallic floss and stitching the 12-pointed snowflake? Not so much! I kept asking myself "how the fuck am I supposed to align a third of a stitch on a square grid?!"

[ID: photo 1: two embroidery hoops hanging on a wall, each with navy blue fabric, and each has a snowflake stitched in them with several pearl beads and crystal buttons.
Photo 2: gold embroidery hoop with navy blue aida fabric and a snowflake stitched in gold thread with several pearls around it and a round crystal button at the center.
Photo 3: silver embroidery hoop with navy blue aida fabric and a snowflake stitched in silver thread with several pearls around it and a crystal flower button at the center. ./.end ID]

2021 cross-stitch of Troupe Leader Grimm, from Hollow Knight! I found the pixel art online, but unfortunately it was unsourced, so I’m not able to credit the artist.
I’m really pleased with the gradient on the face and the eyes. There’s actually only three colors of floss outside of the face (gray, black, red), but I think there’s literally fourteen or fifteen more grays on the face, and I forget how many red/pink colors I used on the eyes.

My most recent cross stitch of moths for my moth loving friend!
I'm ridiculously happy with how it turned out. Hours of making each pattern and adjusting the spacing and placement ACTUALLY paid off!
