I dunno, I think my take on an actor AU would be the Eldritch AU. It's an actor AU, but nobody but c!Dream knew. Involuntary, unwitting Actor AU. With no cameras. Or like, maybe one camera but it only took 10 photos and none of them are good.

I like my stuff to carry a solid layer of still being fucked up to it. Even when I'm writing lighter stuff. Actor AUs in full are hard to do that with, although there's a really good Warden Hybrid c!Dream AU on a03 that plays with that concept well! I think the most recent work is Roommates?

That being said, in a full Actor AU I think the most important thing is that the show is done live, and c!Wilbur made up the thing about fucking a fish on the spot, and refuses to retcon it no matter what anyone else tries. People tried to pressure him into changing it, and c!Phil made up the thing about fucking a fridge in solidarity.

The C!Prime Primer!

Since I’ve been getting a whole lot of new followers after my Pokemon posts, I’m sure a lot of you are confused about the two little guys I’m constantly posting about. This is the post for that!

What is c!Prime?

c!Prime is short for c!Primeboys. c!Primeboys, or c!Discduo, is the name for the platonic relationship between c!TommyInnit and c!Dream from the Dream SMP.

So, are these real people?

No. c!Tommy and c!Dream are fictional characters portrayed by the YouTubers they are named after. They’re very distinct from their actors.

Didn't you know that the real people involved are problematic?

Yes, you don’t need to tell me and I do not support that. I do not watch or interact with Dream or his content at all, and while I think Tommy is alright as a whole he’s done bad shift I don’t support. I simply don’t see why that should affect my writing of fictional characters they played in a no longer active server.

So, who are c!Tommy and c!Dream?

c!Tommy is a severely mentally ill child soldier who, while loyal and good at heart, hides that behind a mask of toxic masculinity and is just kind of a dickhead teenager a lot of the time. c!Dream is a mad scientist obsessed over the idea of immortality, who hides his emotions and attachments out of fear yet desperately wants friends and family. The two of them are in a deeply unhealthy and abusive friendship, where c!Dream is physically and emotionally abusive towards c!Tommy and conditioning him into seeing him as his only friend.

Is this canon? Was the Dream SMP always like this?

Basically, yeah! While a lot of the content I have about them comes down to personal interpretation, they canonically are part of a storyline about child abuse and trauma.

Why are you so obsessed with Minecraft child abuse?

Multiple reasons. For one, I'm both autistic and ADHD, and it’s both a special interest and a hyperfixation to me. Also, I just enjoy writing horror. But most importantly, the Dream SMP and c!Primeboys storyline helped me come to terms with my own abuse, and I want to help others do that with my own work.

What if I'm uncomfortable with these themes?

Feel free to block the “Primeboys (Derogatory)” tag!

Is this meant to romanticise/glorify/normalise abuse?

Absolutely not. I intend to do the opposite- to depict abuse frankly and to show how horrific it’s effects are. Ideally, I’d like to help others realise what they went through wasn’t okay, as that’s what canon helped me do. I intentionally depict aspects of abuse often not shown- most notably, non-sexual abuse by an unrelated authority figure, the mindset of an abuser, and the mixed feelings a victim might have to their abuser, but this is not to normalise anything. It’s to shed light onto overlooked areas of abuse in the hope it’ll help people realise that this is a part of it.

What's with all the AUs?

I like AUs. Also, I am plagued with visions about them that haunt my dreams.

Why are you so defensive over two Minecraft characters?

Years of harassment. I had a harassment campaign against me accusing me of shipping these two, romanticising abuse, being a predator myself, and in general sending me victim blaming bullshit and gross sexual shit in my inbox since I was a minor myself. I also have moral scrupulousity, and part of that revolves around fiction. Sorry if I’m a bit of a bitch about that, literally just tell me because sometimes I don’t realise it.

Actor AU where the teens actually look forward to shooting with Dream in emotionally intense scenes because he buys them all the ice cream they can stomach afterwards.

Like even after they say they're good, they all use it as an excuse to get ice cream. Dream included.

Ranboo offers to buy his own ice cream once and is shut down by everyone else. Dream makes bank, he can afford it.

Tommy usually beats Dream to his car. To the point where Dream yeets him his keys while he finishes packing his stuff so Tommy can turn on the AC.

Purpled goes every time even though he’s never in any of these scenes. For “additional emotional support” as any good friend and co-star would.

Tubbo will start fake sobbing on the spot any time someone questions their routine. Without hesitation.

"Dream, Tubbo literally just shot a Tiktok two minutes after that scene I don't think he needs-"

"OH, OH MY BRAIN IS BLEEDING TEARS! THE SOUL-SPLITTING AGONY!"

When they’re shooting the scene of Tommy visiting Dream in prison, Dream’s just sitting in the middle of that barren ass room eating a burger and fries between takes.

"If there was a more peaceful time on the SMP, Sapnap wouldn't know it. Their lives had constantly been overrun by acting out the script for their series, wearing them down to exhaustion most days. The few nights in which Sapnap could finally sit in the quiet, overlooking the mountains and untouched forests were his most precious since the start of the lore. His fiance's would join him once their own jobs had been completed for the day. Karl usually arrived first, taking his place next to him and enjoying the warmth that he provided to fight against the nights chill. The two would stare at the moon, taking in the sounds of crickets chirping and the occasional rustle in the leaves from a fox or raccoon. Soon, Quackity would join them and take Sapnap's opposite side wordlessly, wrapping his wing around his two future husbands as a quiet affirmation of his care, too tired for words after a long day of talking and yelling. With the three finally reunited under the stars, Karl would begin to talk about all the things he had learned when trying to build the most accurate sets for when he was next set to film, painting a picture in the sky with carefully chosen words and hand placements. Karl would do the talking for the other two, both of which were more than content to sit and listen to their third ramble about the days events until it was time for them to once again head home to repeat the same schedule. It was exhausting, but when they were together after a long day, sitting under the stars in the warm embrace of eachother, it made it all much more worth it."

i HAD to write this oh my god, you and the other anons that suggested this are geniuses this was so funny,,, without further ado, the actor au my beloved !!

The camera pushes closer eagerly, the crew signing instructions and reactions to each other as the fight in front of them continues strong. It’s a good thing, Techno reflects, that he’s friends with Tommy and they work so well together - this would be a hell of a lot more awkward with someone he didn’t know as well.

Still, it’s a little unsettling to see such hatred and betrayal etched into his friend’s face. He’ll never admit it, obviously, because Tommy has a big enough head, but Tommy is a pretty fucking good actor: in such a high stakes scene, it almost feels real. Techno forces himself to shake off those thoughts, ducking under a wild swing from Tommy and retaliating with one of his own. This one strikes Tommy’s shoulder, and Tommy, though not hurt (and Techno is being careful) reacts with a yell, staggering back with blood pouring from his shoulder.

Fuck. That’s a lotta blood. Poor character Tommy, Techno reflects, even as he prepares his next attack. He’s gonna have a hard time with his shoulder after this. At least Tommy - real Tommy, his friend and fellow actor Tommy - will be happy about the badass scar, even if he’ll complain the whole time he has to sit through makeup.

Techno knows how the script goes, but it doesn’t make it any easier to beat Tommy up so callously. And it’s not like his character doesn’t have reason - provoked by Wilbur’s comments and Tommy’s ire and the terror of being alone at the festival to kill Tubbo - but still, man, he’s not in the swing of acting after a break away from it, things still feel tense. It’s hard to focus on remembering the choreography of this fight (swing, duck, parry, swing) never mind his lines, never mind what comes after.

But all too soon, Tommy is broken down on the ground, kneeling at his feet and spitting out blood from his teeth - yeah, okay, Techno takes it back, Tommy is a fucking amazing actor, and he’ll tell the kid that after recording today - and it’s his time to shine. My fifteen seconds of fame on the Dream SMP, Techno reflects sarcastically, even as he crouches down to Tommy’s level, gripping his chin between two firm fingers. The camera angle switches, going for a close up, even as Tommy’s eyes gleam mutinously at him.

“This was inevitable,” he begins, and oh, God, oh God he actually has lines here, what the fuck are his lines? “You shoulda seen this coming, man.”

Tommy spits at his feet, panting heavily. “Fuck you. We could’ve- We could’ve fixed things! We coulda saved Tubbo! And you fucking murdered him, you murdered him up on that stage like you never fucking cared about him!”

“You see, Tommy, you’re using words,” Techno says, trying instead to focus on his acting - that’s the important part, he just has to trust the lines will come naturally, “but the thing about this world, Tommy, is that the only universal language is language.”

Silence. Dead silence, bated breath silence. Tommy stares at him, blank faced. Techno wonders what he’d done wrong, mentally reviewing his position and the lines. Using words.... universal language....

...Language...

He mentally stops. Oh.

Dream’s wheezing giggle echoes from the back of the hall, and that’s enough to tip everyone over the edge. 

Tommy shrieks with laughter beside him, doubled over and clutching his stomach as he laughs, and even Wilbur “Don’t-Talk-To-Me-While-I’m-Acting-Or-I’ll-Blow-Something-Up” Soot is giggling, burying his face in the makeshift stone wall to hide his laughs. Techno, disgruntled as he is, feels the corners of his lip press upwards into a grin.

“Oh, so that’s how it is,” he calls over the laughter and hilarity ensuing, “Tommy can mess up as many lines as he wants without being laughed at, and I mess up one and I’m suddenly the clown at the circus?”

“That’s the funniest fucking shit you’ve ever done,” Tommy says weakly, wiping tears out of his eyes, “oh my fucking god, I’m going to die, I think I’m gonna die.”

Wilbur claps his hands, face flushed from laughter. “Let’s—” He begins, but erupts with another giggle. “Let’s take five minutes, alright? Fuck, I think we need a break to get ourselves under control.”

And with that he’s gone, disappearing into the crowds with laughter floating after him, and Techno has to try hard not to follow him in hilarity. Instead, as the actors split, he turns to Phil, pinning him with the most long-suffering look possible. “Phil,” he deadpans, “I hate this place. I wanna go back to our old SMP Earth cast.”

His friend, chuckling, does his best to hide his laughter loyally for Techno. “Think of this as a welcome to the family,” he grins, “if it makes you feel any better, Wilbur forgot a line and accidentally made it canon that he had sex with a fish. People still laugh at him for it.”

Techno blinks, before swivelling to see Wilbur in the distance talking animatedly about something to Schlatt. His eyes narrow.

“That wasn’t an accident and you know it,” he tells him dryly, “that was Wilbur needing an excuse to add an awful horrible idea from his brain into the script and deliberately messing up his line.”

He sighs, shaking his head and turning away.

“I hate it here.”

It’s deadpan, more to himself than to Phil, but Techno is grinning, and he doesn’t really mean it.

Think of this as a welcome to the family, Phil had told him, and Techno, looking round at his friends, decides to do just that.

Dream SMP Actor AU

Lots of improv and people working multiple jobs on set to help with the budget. Though it was vastly expanded after the success of season one.

Tubbo and Tommy had actually worked together before for a tv show so they were already kind of friends before the series began. The casting director saw them bantering in the parking lot after the auditions and realized that they would be perfect for the role.

They actually auditioned for each others role first!

Before the series, Tommy rarely swore.

That’s not true anymore.

This is Quackity’s first show. Before the SMP he was a stand up comedian who occasionally did voice acting.

Wilbur was a writer and assistant director, who originally wasn’t going to act in the show, but he stepped in for the character Wilbur so many times while reading scripts that no one could see anyone else playing him.

Wilbur was/is a total theatre kid, and when he was younger in school he ran a few performances with Niki and Fundy.

Fundy was largely a stagehand in theatre and later did special effects for films. He acted as minor characters before but this the SMP is his first big role.

People joke about him being cursed though because for some reason the boom mikes only cut off around him.

Dream, George, and Sapnap had all acted together multiple times for the manhunt franchise before the SMP.

Most of their dialogue with each other on set is improv. The scripts literally just say: just talk to each other.

There is a running gag on set to draw eyebrows onto Dreams mask, one time they filmed a whole fight scene without realizing they had forgotten to wipe the marker off.

Erets betrayal was kept a secret to most of the cast until right before they filmed it.

Maid Hbomb started off as a gag when a costume mix up happened at the dry cleaners.

Technoblade was originally going to have red hair. But due to a misreading of the hair dye bottle ended up with pink hair that they had to roll with.

Captain Puffy actually knows how to sail!

Ranboo just showed up one day on set and started acting. No one noticed the additional pages and the red sharpie added to the script.

Tommy and Tubbo spending hours in each other's trailers playing stupid phone games and chatting and watching bad action films, ordering way too much pizza and eating all of it and building a pillow fort and having sleepovers and staying up until 3 am going over scripts (especially going over other peoples lines and doing horrible imitations of the other actors)

okay tumblr is being a little bitch and posted this early so here is everything else:

Dadza reminding the kids to go over their scripts, especially helping Tommy with getting lines right (such a young actor would appreciate the help from an older, more experienced one, methinks)

Wilbur being the Way He Is off(and sometimes on)set because he's used to being in romance movies (you cannot tell me that execs would look at him and not put him in a romcom. you cant)

Dream, Techno, Schlatt, maybe Quackity, being used to the intense action sequences from the bad action movies (that tommy and tubbo watch?) so they're really good at the fight scenes and practice together

George sleeping on set it absolutely hilarious and he probably makes a game out of it (along w the dreamteam) to get him sleeping in the absolute weirdest places on set they can find (in the walls of eret's tower, strung up from the ceiling of tubbo's bee dome, in techno's trailer one time, etc)

The writers chilling on set having late night discussions about weird stuff they could add, sometimes the rest of the gang comes too and they all just. Vibe. Yk
