I love Stakeout (5x17) episode. I really do. You know, all these McDanno moments like sharing food, talking, confessing, arguing and of course being husbands (oh, I love Ruth).

But my favourite moment is in the end. Danny giving Steve a guitar? Yeah, it's great too. But the best is just after that.

When Steve sees the guitar he... Ohh. He says "Danny, Danny, Danny...".

Yeah, sure. It can mean just "Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you" or "Ayy, you're unbelievable, boy" or "Oh, you did it, for me" or "ehh, you didn't have to, you know? but aww thanks".

But I also hear there "I love you, I love you, I love you". I love the tone of Steve's voice in that moment. It's so full of love and friendship and devotion. It's so soft, so warm. And so damn romantic. Yeah, Steve sounds like a lover in a fever. Like a man just kissing his beloved one (and asking for more). I mean, it's so passionate that I can't 😍 And I love that he says Danny's name not one but three times! Danny, Danny, Danny. It's like emphasis. And like mantra. Like a desire to say lover's name over and over again. Steve tastes Danny's name. He loves it. He always loves to call him Danno, Dan, Daniel, sir Daniel, Danny... But this time he says "Danny" in a different way. Like "Romeo, oh, my Romeo" (or should I say: Petruchio? cause sometimes it's like The taming of the Shmuck SuperSeal 😆).

(Has he seen THAT movie? Has he seen 10 things I hate about you and the "guitar scene"? Does he dream about such events, I mean: lovebird 1 buys lover 2 a guitar and lover 2 kisses lovebird 1? Does he dream about kissing Danny? 😉 Oh, Stevie, Stevie, you could then just say "I... I'm really grateful, you know. I wanted to thank you in a... non-neanderthal animal way, I mean... I wanted to be a gentleman" 🤭).

I know that he has been in love with Danny since he met him in his own garage. And yup, it's not a first time when one is doing something sweet and adorable for the other. But in this episode they were SO close. One flat, one room, one couch. No Ohana around. No activities. No danger (like in that episode with them being under the ruined building). Only spying (doing their job) and talking. There was a) we are sitting in the silence or b) we are sitting and talking. And Danny loves talking so... 😉 They were so close physically and also mentally. They were so intimate while confessing things. And Danny was right when he said that thing about Steve. Cause, yeah, Steve sometimes thinks that they're from two different worlds (ah, so romantic 😉). But Danny is right: they are not that different. They share many things, many pains (like losing a brother; Freddie/Matt). They feel each other so well. They're soulmates. And in that episode Steve is like "oh". He knows that Danny's words are true. And he knows that Danny is the best thing in his whole life. He knows that he can always share his secrets with him. But this time he sees it so damn clearly.

So they are so sweet to each other. There is very romantic mood around. There is SOMETHING. They share and share: that couch, food, secrets, feelings, thoughts about each other. And it's all more and more romantic. And Steve is so openhearted, he talks about his old fears and trauma and about the shame. And Danny tries to heal him. They both try - yeah, they don't need that therapy but I think that was a good idea to make them so close again. To make them talk in that intimate way.

So, all is so romantic and in the end boom! Danny gives him that guitar, Danny shows him "I feel you so much, babe and I wanna make you happy and free from traumas". Danny is so cute. So gentle. So gentle that it could make Steve cry. I can imagine that Steve is screaming inside. And that there are butterflies in his stomach 😉 It looks like... something happened. Like... another "something" in their relationship. So romantic something that... Danny, Danny, Danny. Bravo, Williams. More moments like this and this poor boy will finally confess more and more. Will finally confess THAT feeling.

Wow. One damn guitar and we've got McGarrett Romantic Mode On. McGarrett shining like the Sun. McGarrett being so gentle, so much in awe and being... courted by Danny 😊 Oh. My. Poor. Heart.

Ok, confession. You know, I'm not a native English-speaker. And maybe when I hear a word X and think "gosh, it sounds just like word Y" well, I'm wrong. Maybe you would tell me "nah, Ell, no way, two different words, no way". Ok, ok, confession: You know what? When I was watching that episode for the first time, I didn't hear Steve's "Danny, Danny, Danny". What did I hear instead? "Honey, honey, honey" 😁 And I was like:

i feel like it often comes across weirdly (when done by someone who doesnt speak that language) so i avoid it. there are some characters and situations where it is done well, but i avoid it

Steve is the one yelling at Danny for being reckless and making himself a target with a crazy ass Gunman before Kono takes him out.

This is so what I needed with the end of this cluster fuck. Classic McDanno where Steve and Danny are so married and worried about each other and Chin and Kono can see right through their insults.

It’s his own stupid fault he didn’t realise sooner. Danny’s waist deep in the kids’ school stuff every day; the fact he hadn’t put two and two together when the kids told him they had a new football coach called McGarrett is an absolute rookie mistake.

“Danny?” Coach McGarrett says when he spots him, squinting against the afternoon sun. He’s tall, is Danny’s first thought, and broad - he’s as beautiful as Danny remembers. “Danny Williams.”

Danny gives McGarrett a wave that he knows looks as awkward as it feels. “Hey. Small world.”

“Yeah, wow.” Steve - McGarrett, Coach, Danny has no idea what he’s supposed to call him - takes off his baseball cap and runs a hand through his hair. “It’d have to be, what? 15 years?”

“Give or take,” Danny agrees with a nod, looking across the school yard to see if he can spot any of his kids so he can get out of here faster. “So you’re the new coach the kids have been going on about.”

Steve scoffs. “Hopefully that’s a good thing.”

“Well the two main topics in our house are football and Frozen, so by that I’d say you’re doing pretty well. Quinn will only play football in an Elsa dress while pretending to be you so I’d say you’re probably his favourite.”

“Oh,” Steve says with a smile, clicking his fingers at Danny. “You’re the triplets’ dad.”

“That’s me. Their brothers and sister are into football too, just not enough to join the team.”

Danny can see Steve doing the maths in his head. It’s the usual reaction he gets when he talks about his kids. Most people - normal people, as Danny likes to say - stop at 2 or 3. But no, Danny and his ex-wife Rachel thought they’d go for number four, and ended up with six instead.

“I think I’ve met Charlie and Keiran, they’re yours too?”

“Yep. And Grace started Junior High this year.”

“Wow. That’s a lot of kids, man.”

Danny can’t help but grin at the way he says it. More impressed than disbelieving. It’s a nice change from the judgemental upturn of peoples noses. “It is a lot of kids, I agree, except they’re mostly annoyed we only got half way to making our own football team.”

Steve barks out a laugh. It’s a nice sound, and it hits low in Danny’s guts; something Steve always managed to do to him. Make him feel things, spin him around. “Well I’ve got four at my house, and another two that are almost always there anyway. Maybe we’d have to join forces some day.”

“Uh, yeah,” Danny eventually says, not prepared to be the one in shock for a change. “Sure. You’ve got kids too?”

“Well I’ve got two, Nehele and Leah. And my sister lives with me, she’s got two of her own, Joan and Cole.”

“So you’re no stranger to a crazy household then.”

Steve smirks. “No. I don’t mind it. I lived on my own for a really long time and I definitely prefer the noise.”

“Well I never lived alone, and I always wanted to. But when the kids are staying with their mum it’s really…”

“Lonely,” Steve finishes, and it’s not a question. “Yeah. I know what you mean.”

“Danno!” They both startle at the sound of the kids voices shouting for Danny, running towards him with their massive school bags swinging around on their backs. Their once-neat hairstyles are completely maniacal after a full day of school and the sight of them makes a smile slowly unfurl across his face.

“Mi amigos!” Danny shouts back, opening up his arms for them to jump on him, trying to gather them all up at once. “I missed you so much. Where are your brothers? Did they run away? Have they joined the circus?”

The triplets giggle.

“They’re being slow,” Bo says in an annoyed, drawling voice, at the same time Quinn chirps,

“Hi, Coach!”

Danny spins to look back at Steve, forgetting for a moment that they’d just been talking. Steve is just looking at them all with a soft expression, and Danny blushes, he feels seen.

“Hey Triple Threat!” he says with a laugh, moving close enough he can boop them all on the head. “Sara, have you been practising that off tackle?”

“Yes, Coach!” she calls with her chin up, and Danny’s not sure whether to grin or roll his eyes.

“Good, good, I was just talking to your dad and I told him if the Williams’ don’t get in shape we’ll be running drills until midnight.”

It says a lot about his kids that they just laugh at Steve, unlike their dad who manages to get offended by just about anything. Not to mention that he thinks his kids are amazing at everything.

Danny can see the teasing twinkle in Steve’s eye though, remembers the way he used to play with Danny just to get a rise out of him. Danny’s the furthest thing from offended right now and he’s not ready for it. He’s not a teenager any more - he doesn't want to feel like one.

“Well, I better round up the other two so we can go get Gracie,” he tells them all, but mostly Steve. He puts his hand out in an offer of a handshake, and Steve takes it, strong and warm. “It was good to see you again, Steve.”

“Yeah,” Steve says gently, their eyes on each other just a beat too long. “You too, Danny.”

“Danno, that’s not Steve that’s Coach,” Quinn berates, and Danny hears Steve chuckle.

“Well, Coach used to be a friend of mine, and I called him Steve,” Danny says, glancing at Steve whose expression flickers. Danny can’t really read it. It’s been so long. He’s changed so much.

“Yeah,” Steve nods. “We’re old friends.”

Danny lets the kids say goodbye before they head off, and he knows he shouldn't, he knows it's stupid, but he looks back one more time. Steve is looking, too.

Friends, he'd said, in that way that meant, we both know we weren't just friends.

Danny knows.

Favourite male character: Danny Williams! 😍 So many reasons to love the fuzzy little angry man from NJ.

Favourite female character: Kono. She owns my heart forever. My favourite female badass of all time. Every time they rush in to rescue her she’s literally like: “It’s cool, I got it.” With a pile of bad guys at her feet.

Least favourite character: Lou. He had so much potential and they made him this way over the top slapstick joke.

Prettiest character: Chin 👏 Ho 👏 Kelly 👏 That man is so beautiful. He looks like a classical statue. Every single bit of him (that we’ve seen - and let’s recall the locked out of the hotel room episode) is a work of art. And his face?!? Come ON! He’s so pretty it hurts.

Funniest character: I’m torn on this one. My favourite funny moments in this show are Steve and Danny together.

Favourite season: S1 - all of my favourite things are in this season. Idiots in love. Banter. Enemies to friends. There’s also a lot more Steve doing Macgyver stuff in this season… which I always missed in later seasons.

Favourite episode: ugh. WHAT AN INSANE QUESTION! How do I pick one?!?! If I HAVE to pick… it’s gotta be 1x23. The Sarin episode.

Favourite romantic ship: McDanno

Favourite family ship: Steve and Gracie 1000% Steve having dad moments with Grace is the absolute best. Honourable mention to Chin and Kono. They have a great relationship that I love a LOT.

Favourite friend ship: Danny and Kono. BroTP for life! I love so much how their relationship evolved from Danny’s initial attraction, to them just being the best of bros.

Worst ship: McRollins. I love them both individually. But they’re bad for each other, in my opinion. And that Goes both ways. Steve really doesn’t treat her well, and she keeps leaving when he wants her to stay. No thanks.

💕 Favourite ship to write?

Hmm, I’m not really sure I have a favourite one to write for. I absolutely love writing Stiles Stilinski, though, he’s so much fun to write, so maybe Sterek would win by default. Harvey Specter is fun to write too. I‘m not a very sarcastic person in real life (I have my moments, but honestly I usually keep any sarcastic remarks that pop into my head to myself because I know firsthand that while sarcasm can be funny it can also be hurtful and I’m not looking to belittle anyone), but maybe I just channel it through these characters instead!

📒 Any fics planned?

So many! I have a short little Sterek ficlet lined up for the A Very Sterek Summer event next month, as well as at least three other Sterek WIPs. I have a Barisi WIP that’s so close to being done, but I just can’t seem to get it over the finish line. I have a McDanno WIP that’s been languishing in my docs for way too long because I have no idea how to end it, and I have several Buddie WIPs in various stages of development in there too, as well as several ideas I haven’t even started on yet, including possibly one for a Chenford fic that just came to me the other day. So, yeah, I have plans! I just don’t know when any of them will come to fruition.

16, 20, 39, 40 for the ship ask meme!

16. Talk about a ship you initially disliked.

Mmm...it doesn’t happen so often anyway the last time a ship surprised me was in TVD Stefan and Caroline, I wouldn’t bet anything on them...I was never a Stelena shipper but back in the days I loved Caroline with Klaus (than I changed my mind but it’s another story) and when I read the spoilers I was like EWWWW how could they be good together? Then...episode by episode I found myself enjoying them always more and then I kind of shipped them...not like my OTPs but I loved to watch the two of them together. It was nice and different for once.

20. Talk about a ship you feel alone in shipping.

Hawaii Five 0, the shippers and that serie well they are always talking about McDanno or Steve and Cathrine...I was on a totally different LOL In s02 There was this amazing female character Lori Weston (the amazing Lauren German) and I loved her so much but specially I shipped her with Steve right away. They were perfect, she fell in love with him but then she left the show...so...I always thought to be the only shipper of Lori and Steve but I still love them I even made a youtube video edit about them, back in the days I wasn’t able to make gifs LOL or you would have found them here on my tumblt. :P

39. Is there a fictional relationship you’d really want for yourself?

Hayley and Nathen of One Tree Hill. Maybe it’s because I grow up watching that show or I don’t know...the girl who gets the most popular boy in high school and then day by day they built their future and their family on their own. Struggling but always with so much love and hope and faith. They were unique. Maybe for someone even boring but...no. They chose wach other over and over again...Beautiful. And Lovely. My heart still love them. And I wish for a men like Nathan Scott. (who totally became a better man thanks to Hayley anyway.)

40. If you could change one thing about your OTP, what would that be?

Any person who read by tumblr for a little times know that one of my very favourite OTP is Klaus and Hayley from TO. We had a lot. A child...a relationship who grow up season by season but If I must change a thing...I truly missed an hug between them. Yeah...so stupid maybe I don’t know. But people can hide so many things in a simple hug. They never hugged on the show. Never. And I regret it. Because they had a unique connection and it would have been lovely to see this kind of moment between them.

7x23: Wehe 'ana-Where Steve and Danny have “fun” decorating Charlie’s bedroom.

Awwww 🥰 this is McDanno at their best. Steve and Danny who I know are secretly married remodel Danny’s spare bedroom for little Charlie. And I have to say it’s absolutely hysterical how Steve and Danny fight over tools and Danny throwing away the instructions on how to make the race car bed.

This was so heart warming I love how Steve seems to be having the time of his life helping Danny make up Charlie’s room.

3x03: Lana I Ka Moana-Where they only have a sinky dinghy ⛵️

With their boat stolen and their only option to use the fucked (shot up) dinghy Steve uses his training to stop the thing from leaking and buy them some time to get help (in the middle of the ocean) with Danny who is not prepared for this. Steve will do anything to keep Danny calm.
