Yo, remember that 500 miles headcanon we went on about for a while? I was thinking about this yesterday and it's chapter 285. Kirishima goes to see Bakugou at the first opportunity. Whether or not he's awake, he starts quietly singing the song to him. Kiri's crying all the while, because their song could either fall on deaf ears or be the last thing Bakugou hears. And fuck, that hurts. Anyway, sorry if you didn't want this angsty shit. I just felt the need to share it.

[manga spoilers] oh god oh fuck

"KACCHAN!" Midoriya's ears registered the scream before his mind remembered that it was his scream, and his feet carried him to the blonde who was falling from the sky. He launched off the ground and barreled into Katsuki as he wrapped his good arm around his friend.

The two were sent tumbling to the ground and Midoriya sucked in a breath before turning to Katsuki to make sure he was alright.

He was not.

There was a gaping wound in Katsuki's stomach that eerily reminded him of both Sir and All Might simultaneously, and he keened as the blonde coughed up blood that helped his mind further the comparison.

"You're a fucki- uff- you're a fucking idiot." Midoriya winced, but didn't take his eyes off the other as he pressed down on the wound in a feeble attempt to stop the bloodstream.

"I-I know- I-I'm, I-"

"Shut up, I'm not done." That shut him up quickly, and Katsuki opened his eyes. Midoriya couldn't handle how they were glazed over in pain.

"You're a fucking i-diot who's gonna get himself killed." He looked away, grimacing, before turning back to the greenette, who had tears running down his face. "Listen, I'm only gonna say this shit once, so..." Midoriya waited for reprimand, to be told that he was going to get them all killed, but...

"I'm sorry." That wasn't what he was expecting. At all.

"Huh-"

"Listen, I'm fucking sorry. I shouldn't have done that shit to you, okay? So stop try'na take my 'advice'. Stop trying to kill yourself." Katsuki coughed again, but it was far weaker this time, and Midoriya bit the inside of his cheek and shut his eyes tight to stop from sobbing right there. There was a tug on the front of his shirt- a hand, and he held onto it like a lifeline. The grip was the only thing grounding him.

"Hey, nerd..." He opened his eyes and stared into the crimson ones in front of him.

"...You chose 'Deku', right? Then I get rights to 'Kaachan'. A name of a fuckin' hero."
