So, Mr. Procrastination has been squatting with me for a good while now. I have so much CC to upload but for some reason I never get around to it.

I’ll be making a collection of retro/vintage gaming consoles and thought I’d start with a tribute to the Sony Playstation 1, dedicated to my Hubby who grew up playing on the O.G. gaming consoles!

I'm here on the behalf of the "send me a character" ask game and I'm going to cheat by asking for two characters: Hua Cheng and mtp Sherlock Holmes (bc tgcf and mtp are both special interests of mine and I'm always excited remembering you post about both of them)

I love that there are other people who are into both of these series!

Sherlock Holmes (Moriarty the Patriot)

My first impression: tbh he definitely grew on my gradually, I seem to remember watching the anime the first time and every time the focus was on him being like BACK TO WILLIAM BACK TO WILLIAM.

My impression now: I am so fond of him. I think he is sincerely such a lovely adaptation of Conan Doyle's character. He's lively and silly and moody and awkward and smart and caring and I just really like him.

Favorite thing about that character: I feel like he's very...steadfast. He sets his mind to something and just goes for it, stubbornly. Sometimes unhealthily. But I admire it.

Least favorite thing: I do still get a little bored anytime the story is just on him without William. I love him best when he's with his hubby.

Favorite line/scene: obvious pick but THAT whole interaction on the train is one of my favourite scenes in the whole series. "I was just thinking it'd be fun if you were that clever mastermind"????? [parapharasing again] Sherlock that is crazy people talk, what are you on about you kinky weirdo. But also the bridge scene is right up there. And the rooftop.

Favorite interaction that character has with another: extremely hard to pick between Sherliam moments but I think I'm gonna land on the entirety of chapter 67.

A character that I wish that character would interact with more: Hmm. Bond, maybe. I want to see them get really chummy in part two.

Another character from another fandom that reminds me of that character: Sherlock Holmes from the original ACD stories. 🤣 (Again, I'll edit if/when I think of a better answer)

A headcanon about that character: He idolized Mycroft as a little kid but between a mix of teenage cringe-syndrome over hanging out with big bro and the ways he sees their worldviews as diverging, they drifted apart as he got older.

A song that reminds of that character: Sherlock-focused-Sherliam

An unpopular opinion about that character: Idk if this counts, but that he doesn't actually actively dislike women (though he is very gay and not interested in them romantically/sexually) he's just annoyed by the front proper Victorian society makes them put on. Once he actually gets to know a woman, he usually likes them.

Hua Cheng (Heaven Official's Blessing)

My first impression: I first saw a clip of the scene where he's leading Xie Lian through the bloody forest in the wedding clothes beneath the red umbrella, and I downright swooned over the romance of it all.

My impression now: basically the same. THE romantic character. Like. Literally a character who exists for the sole purpose of loving another. I'm getting sentimental in my old age, because I would have turned my nose up at that idea fifteen years ago, but now I adore it.

Favorite thing about that character: he's just so gentle and careful and thoughtful and loving? But also powerful and dangerous. Knight in shining armour hours. But then to be all of that and also be such a bratty, sometimes teasing and sometimes sulky husband is so funny I love it.

Least favorite thing: Uhhh. Hmm. I get why he's mean to...basically everybody but Xie Lian, because everyone has been cruel to Xie Lian. But in a sort of realistic sense that I don't actually bother to apply to fiction like this, I'd like to see him encourage Xie Lian to have other people in his life. It's fine if he wants to stay mad at Feng Xin and Mu Qing, but he should invite Yushi Huang for tea and encourage Xie Lian to hang out with Yin Yu and so on. It would be good for them both to have other friends. But like. That's me forcing myself to come up with an answer lmao.

Favorite line/scene: any big romantic speech, but also anytime he just absolutely embarrasses himself. "Gege, want to get married?" PFFFT. Loser (I love him.)

Favorite interaction that character has with another: I think the part where he's disguised and Xie Lian is laughing at him and he's pouting, and then "Only after having met you did I rediscover that it's such a simple thing to be happy." Just imagining what that must have done to Hua Cheng's heart makes me so happy.

A character that I wish that character would interact with more: Yushi Huang. They are covert infiltration buddies.

Another character from another fandom that reminds me of that character: Has there ever before been this level of simp? Has anyone else romanced so hard? I'm gonna say maybe Kurogane from TRC, because ( TRC SPOILERS) while Hua Cheng is much softer and more poetic about his love, Kurogane did cut off his own arm to save his beloved, and bond his soul to a vampire who could only feed on him, and definitely seems the type to do what Hua Cheng did in the current donghua arc with refusing to let Xie Lian take blame beyond what he actually had done even when that was what Xie Lian wanted. Those all feel like Hua Cheng levels of dedication.

A headcanon about that character: just absolutely and entirely overwhelmed by actually having sex with Xie Lian the first few times. He cries. He maybe panics a little. He comes too fast. He cries some more. Xie Lian adores him.

A song that reminds of that character: I mean, A Thousand Years is more about Hua Cheng than it's ever been about anyone else ever. But also this.

An unpopular opinion about that character: apparently, in some corners, my belief that the donghua version is very very in character to the novel would be unpopular lol

Favorite picture: all the manhua art is of course utterly gorgeous but...

Hello! I'm Hannah and if you stumbled upon my blog - welcome! I'm glad you're here 🥰

A little about me: I'm a married 90's kid but I don't have any kiddos (yet). I work part-time as a barista, make designs for Redbubble, and am working on a couple writing/editing projects. I love coffee, tea, purple, pink, and pastel colors. I struggle with fatigue, major depression, anxiety, and C-PTSD but don't let my weaknesses hold me back or define who I am. I LOVE to create and although I've had some major slumps with my mental health, I always find myself going back to it. When I'm not creating, I enjoy spending time with my hubby or my closest friends and family. I also love video games (cozy indie games are my favorite), reading, music, collaborating with characters or story ideas, and watching Bob's Burgers, old TV shows, or anime.

My projects: Skyglass (main): middle grade fantasy series I'm currently writing about a bunch of fae kiddos. Premise: A young orphaned girl learns she’s from a magical world. But she must make an important choice—stay in her comfort zone and let fear control her, or step up and help change the course of history in her new world.

Project Burley (on hiatus): collaborative project I started on Instagram in 2019. It's about a creative arts school that houses middle school through high school students in a world where creativity is severely looked down on. I still love my kiddos deeply from this project, so I plan on posting more about them here. And if you're ever interested in reading my short stories and learning even more about my kids, links to my stories are at the bottom of this post and in my linktree.

TBN "Oreo" project (side): another story I've got in development that'll probably turn into a book. Premise: After being sent to a school for young criminals and social outcasts, Theo must team up with the eccentric Orly. Because their school isn't what he thought it was, and they are all in danger of being turned into weapons of war for their country. (I'll use the "Project Oreo" tag for this now).

AND I'm bound to post about miscellaneous other characters and story ideas. Since I play around with a lot -- but those above are my most consistent/serious ones at the moment.

Other interests: In case you couldn't already tell, I'm passionate about original characters, stories, and content. It's not that I hate fan made content (and you're bound to see fan art reblogged on my side blog sometimes), but there is something truly special about original ideas so that is where my main interest lies. I really hope to find many original character artists and writers here to love and support.

I'm also a huge advocate for mental health and strive to be a light in this dark, chaotic world. I plan to make my blogs safe, happy places for anyone to enjoy who shares common interests with me.

About time I finished her. Here's Nanoka Matsumoto!

I procrastinated on this so much, it's not even funny. She was the HARDEST character so far, but at least I got it

Also, I went out to the Henry Ford museum in Dearborn with my parents earlier today, & it was incredible! Let me know if you want a photo dump later, cuz I'm down

Alright, meet Nanoka! She's one of the greatest kunoichi in Japan & is even a little famous because of it. Before she became one, she was, trigger warning, SA'd by a drunk man & she suddenly jumped him & killed him. Only with a single kunai. She's fully recovered from that by now & has used that power to put her where she is now

She's lived in the entertainment district her entire life. Because of this, she knows the area like the back of her hand. To the point where she knew something was wrong when Gyutaro & Daki came into the picture. BTW, about the Moonlit reunions arc with Koku & Zakiko, I'm changing it to take place during that arc instead of the swordsmith village arc. My bad! ^^"

She wasn't too keen on being arranged to three husbands all at once, so she hated all of them at first. Eventually, she just let her guard down around them & now she'll do anything for them

She & her hubbys actually help out Tengen, Yuzuki, & the kids when things get bad with upper six, so they hold off Gyutaro for a bit

Because of her beauty, she always gets hit on & asked to "have fun" with people. But, she's a loyal girl to her boys & she can & will stick a kunai down your gullet, so keep your hands to yourself

Daichi was actually the biggest help with Gyu & Daki because he laid low under the radar, jumping from house to house to see what was happening

& I'm far too lazy to explain the boys right now, so I'll either edit this or direct you to @batmansbae1600 because I told her about them when she wanted to know about them. So, if you wanna know, either wait until I decide to edit this or just ask J

What I will tell you about them is that they look like they mean business, & they do, but they're always just a bunch of flustered kitties with Lady Nanoka (Yes, I'm gonna draw that at some point >:3)

Because I have... so, so many favorites and I absolutely love so many of them. And I love to hate quite a few more of them. 

Okay. OKAY. Forcibly restricting myself to FFXIV characters. (Don’t you sulk at me, Nathan Talbot. Get back into the novel that’s awaiting editing. I’ll get to it in... uh... ask me in five years.)

And I honestly can’t choose a favorite. Even characters I made, took a few pictures of, thought about and then shelved can qualify because every single idea that sparks to life reassures me that age, exhaustion, capitalism and stress haven’t destroyed my urge to create.

Oldest:

As we’re sticking with FFXIV characters, it’s actually C’allie! And not just because she’s the first I made in FFXIV, but because her original incarnation was a Ceilican for an old World of Darkness online game that I ran. (It’s actually one of the first times that my husband and I got a chance to really RP together.) And that game was... gracious... twelve years ago?

I actually used Callie’s name for my FFXIV miqo’te because I was migrating over from GW2, where my hubby and I had Seifer & Anna, and I wasn’t sure if I’d be translating any characters from Tyria, but I wanted someone with a mental tie to the man I was (at the time) dating because I hoped to lure him in to play with me. It worked marvelously and the world got C’allie Kyho, the Seeker of the Sun.

Newest:

Carmen Heron, the Keeper of the Moon architect specializing in erosion repair who is deaf in one ear, really really likes the ladies and smells like candied ginger because she spends so much time sucking/chewing on it. (She always keeps a tin of it in her pocket.) Why candied ginger? 

She lives in and works in Limsa Lominsa and she gets horribly sea sick. So! Having ginger always at hand helps!

Meanest:

Anna. 

Just... yeah. No debate, no question. Anna.

Softest:

Esti Kyton, my sweet, damaged barista. She’s spent her entire life just hoping to be special to someone, living on the fringes of a huge family that never quite seemed to accept her, and has dealt with abuse from both her mother and her ex. All she wants is a quiet home with someone she can take care of, good coffee and a small yard where she can hang her aerial hoop up for her daily practice. 

Most Aloof/Standoffish:

Meli Iliakos, my Warrior of Light. 

There’s... a lot of heartache she’s dealing with, especially after the events of Endwalker and what she learned about her distant and recent past. And being the Warrior of Light means people either assume they have a right to your time or they act like you’re too good for them. Meli doesn’t have the emotional bandwidth anymore to deal with either extreme, and so she stays quiet and tries to let the Scions (and her Scions-Ish) deal with the public at large whenever possible. 

Only in Norvrandt does Meli warm up to the people around her and drop the aloof demeanor.

Dumbest (Affectionate):

Chessi Eder, my lovable idiot. She has more than two brain cells to rub together, but does she realize that? Nope! With all she’s suffered in her life, it’s really a testament to her stupidity that she doesn’t realize she’s been horribly used. Chessi takes everything at face value, assumes the best of everyone and that finally paid off with her being “adopted” by Narasen & Voranoix L’espoir and getting herself a boyfriend-who-isn’t-her-boyfriend-right?-ooo!-is-he-my-boyfriend??? in Sezra.

Dumbest (Derogatory):

Reneaux Iseterre is... too smart for his own good, which essentially turns inside-out and becomes so dumb he can’t comprehend anything without it slowly soaking through his skull. He’s not quite That Guy From Your Literature Classes but he’s dangerously close.

Smartest:

Anna. While C’allie is really damn smart, Summer makes a living as a professional author and Esti has incredible business acumen, Anna’s greatest weapon truly is her intelligence. She’s incredibly good at analytical thinking as well as translating theory into practical application, which stands her in good stead in her quest for complete magical mastery. Anna also masters languages fairly quickly, helping her along when she finds new tomes or treatises from other nations. 

Horniest:

I’m going to shock anyone who’s read this blog for more than a month. It’s not C’allie. Seriously!! It’s NOT C’allie!

It’s Narasen. 

She and Voranoix spent years as just friends, aware of each other, friendly to each other but not much beyond that. And then he comforted her and kept her safe when she had a particularly bad night involving alcohol and loneliness, which led to a rather... long couple of days that they spent together. They went their separate ways and Narasen often thought back to ... well... all of the details of that particular encounter. 

When they officially began a relationship, Voranoix began slowly helping Narasen to recover from the multiple traumas she’d suffered in her youth. (Which involved killing a few people but you know, that’s how these things go.) And some of the methods involved that worked best finally coaxed Narasen into feeling safe enough to express sexual desire. 

Voranoix didn’t realize what he’d unleashed by doing that, but he’s not voiced a complaint yet. 

Now that Narasen is away from Gridania, married to the man who healed her heart and ensured her safety, and feels secure enough to show active desire without fear of what it might entail? She is always after her husband’s ass. 

Character You'd Bang:

Honestly, it’d be C’allie. I wouldn’t actually feel self-conscious with her because C’allie doesn’t have a “type” and she’s playful and fun and funny. I’d really rather hang out and chat with her for a few hours, maybe compare reading lists, exchange recommendations. But if she wanted a roll in the hay, well... She’s experienced enough to make it really good and isn’t hesitant about teaching, so I’d probably come away with some pointers.

Character You'd Be RL Besties With:

Again, C’allie. 

While Summer and I would get along marvelously, and I’d love to have Esti advise me on how to make coffee, C’allie is curious and loves to chat and would drag me out of my comfort zone to explore new things. I’d give her a safe ear where she could talk about her multiple partners as she needed and get her to slow down and maybe even work on creating things for herself.

Finally got to sit down and eat after being on my feet for about 9 hours today in the kitchen, baking stuffs for tomorrow.

I grew the two medium/small sugar pumpkins myself~

The mini sugar pumpkin was a halloween leftover i was experimenting with. It turned out to have a sweeter taste than the larger pumpkins, so i tossed it in the pureé~

Once they were done baking, the pumpkins looked like soft golden brown baked bread rolls to me. XD

I forgot to take pics of the pureé and entire mix once i had it all together, and i forgot to take any pics of the dough making process as well, but here is the pumpkin pie!

Here is the recipe i used for the pumpkin pie!

I definitely used about a half a cup, to an entire cup more than it called for in pumpkin pureé, - i wanted to use it all. XD i also used two cups of heavy cream instead of one each milk and cream. 👍

As for the apple pie, we bought some apples from the store to use as our neighbors tree dropped all of its apples in late august so we had to improvise ~

I use a peeler to get the slices suuuuper thin.

I also forgot to take process pics fjshdhdh. Also this is my first time doing the lattice thing and i decided to do it last minute. =u

I also used her recipe for the pie crust of both pies!

I prettymuch swear by this lady's recipes - i found her on DeviantArt a looooooooooong time ago from an aesthetic picture of her beanut butter chocolate cake and wanted to make it some day. (Still haven't). I have however, made her chicken and dumplings and it's the fucking BOMB! Look it up on her website, i have enough links here for now. XD

For the cookies, they were also a last minute decision - i decided we didn't have enough sweets for tomorrow despite my hubby also making puff pastries lmao.

I could not tell you for the life of me where i found this recipe, i found it so long ago! I memorized it because it's super simple:

1 cup peanut butter

1 cup sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla

Roll the stuff all mixed together into little golf balls, grab a fork and squish them down a little, then bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown, it should make a nice crisp tapping sound if you tap the tops with a fork. If they cave in a little, you light wanna give them a bit longer. The harder the crust, the crispier the cookies will be~ if they are a little gooey when you first take them out, let them cool off and they will set.

You can also use crunchy peanut butter iff you want peanuts in your cookies!

Or get creative and add chocolate chips or peanut butter chips AND chocolate chips if u want it to be extra tasty. ;3

She told me about her baking and the fruit cake she made for Christmas. After she and her husband left (we were at potluck), she returned to the bottom of the stairs, motioned for my husband to come over, (I did not see her), then she handed him her last homemade fruit cake and said, "Merry Christmas".

My husband showered me with gifts! The best one was The Miracle Collector's Edition.

I read The Night Manager Saga and I Love the Way You Lie again. Wonderful way to put all the turmoil out of your mind! I have been reading a lot of Loki fanfiction.

I am swearing like a sailor! I am truly trying to stop.

So cool! I just graduated to a Level 7 Google Local Guide! I've always enjoyed talking photos, editing and directing little projects, but it's really interesting to see how fast something can spread. For instance, I took some cool shots last week on our trip to Best Buy to pick up a new Christmas present... Which we've already returned and replaced with something better but that's another story... But the second we got back I look over my photos and go to my profile to post them as an update on my review and 3 minutes... I counted them... Three minutes later I get an alert from Google that Best Buy & Google Maps have approved my pictures for their featured store images! I know it may not seem like a big deal but that really excited me. I mean, they thought they were good enough to represent the face of their company online and via Google Maps, Search and Shopping. That was cool but then I wondered if I could do it again with some different location and actual "added effort" this time. All be damned, but my hubby's company approved the pictures I captured outside their corporate office when dropping him off at work the other day and they are now featured photographs as well and are being put to use as the face of their corporate building! It's just a neat feeling when you can create something with some type of worth or value to give others and put out there. That's always been a driving force in my creative projects and a big motivator for me. I mean, I enjoy photography without the Local Guide factor, but it's always nice to know you could help or have some kind of input or impact on the world around you, however big or small. yourusername welcome to my postgame penalty box update: i actually attended my best friend’s game edition! the canucks not only got the series sweep against the stars this season, they now have six straight wins against them!

in quinny baby’s 27:30 minutes of ice time (the longest ice time for both teams, stars’ d-man miro heiskanen is second with 26:40) he did NOT recieve a penalty, which brings his streak to two games! he didn’t receive a point, but his +/- went up by one, and quinny is very proud of his +/- !!

quirky notes: slide four is quinn after suter scored for the stars, and that was also my emotion when he scored because he is not my fav and i was truly perplexed he made it in. slide five is quinny in warm ups doing his quinn hughes thing shootin pucks into the net! very fun to watch but he would not pay attention to me which was rude.

slide eight is the lighting making him look like an angel (because he is), and slide NINE is my favorite ever!! slide nine is benneguin (benn+seguin) sitting in sin together because they’re besties just like me and quinny!! (okay, maybe not exactly like us, but still besties!) (jamie looked very distraught in there and he has the cutest bambi eyes and i’d trade all three hughes brothers plus my boyfriend just to look at him up close) p.s. i didn’t have enough room to post a max domi pic but he also looked very good tonight!!

Make your own Custom View-Master reels from Image 3D!

I have found what is quite possibly the coolest personalized product you can buy, anywhere. Thanks to PTPA, I got a chance to test out the Custom View-Master Style Reel and Viewer set and it is now in my top 10 products for the year.

Remember those View Master reels you used to have as a kid? Well, I still love them and I have a bunch of them from my own childhood as well as those I’ve been collecting for my kiddos with the newer characters. With both the 80s reels and the newer ones, we now have a drawer full of viewers and reels we play with.

But, now we’ve got something cooler than Mickey or Disney princesses to look at with the addition of a CUSTOM View Master reel from Image 3D to our collection. Made with pictures right from my computer, I was able to make a special View Master reel that includes the highlights of my husband’s and my adventures from 1997 – 2008 {up until we had our babies – that’s for additional reels, which I WILL be ordering soon}.

I made the reel as an anniversary surprise for him, and it was seriously the most perfect gift I could have gotten him. Sentimental and personal without being mushy or girly, the Custom View Master is perfect for just about anyone, but especially for a family that loves vintage and retro gifts as much as we do.

And, it wasn’t nearly as hard to make the reel as I had thought it would be. Really, the hardest part was finding the perfect 7 pictures for it since we have tons of pictures and most of our early days together were 100% real film {yes, kids, we’ve been together that long}. Scanning in older pictures covertly was a bit difficult, but I managed to hide them until reel arrived, which thankfully was very quick.

Once I had the pictures, I merely logged into the Build-A-Reel site {don’t skip this step or it won’t save your work!}, started uploading pictures, and then I could make the edits I wanted.

I decided to edit them all to black and white since some of our pictures were with black and white film and I didn’t want to switch between color modes.

After they were all converted to black and white, I cropped the pictures as I wanted, and added 3D text and graphics {since I was pulling from different years and places, I put the location and year as reference for the kids}. I then chose a picture for the center of the reel, made sure the title looked good, and it was set. All that was left now was previewing the reel, which I thought was really fun because you can see exactly what the finished product would look like, and then I just submitted my order.

A week or so later and I was holding my special anniversary reel in my hands and I couldn’t be more excited. It was all I could do to wait a few days to give the reel to hubby, which still was waaaay too early for our anniversary, but I didn’t care. You can’t hold out on something as cool as a personalized View Master reel. Am I right?

And, even though it was a few weeks early, we still loved looking back on our adventures together thus far. We might have said "Look at us! We're BABIES!" more than a few times as we looked at our Image 3D reel together.

It was fun to reminisce with him and enjoy our pictures all over again, thrilled that they now will see the light of day. I was so happy that gems such as this one from our honeymoon {those are our Cook Island drivers licenses – complete with dust and fuzz all over the pictures} won't forever be trapped in photo albums {ahem *boxes* ahem}.

So... I did some minecraft sketches recently...

oh my gosh, ok, so I’ve been going through @zubneo​ and @sm-baby​ ‘s Minecraft tags and absolutely loving their designs/redesigns/head-canons and since I’ve been playing Bedrock edition on the switch I have also felt the need to draw my cute sona and the various Villagers she’s taken under her wings. 

But for now I’m just exploring my own Villager aesthetic, so here’s some poorly photographed sketches of some notes

Details of some Villager professions! We have Grace the farmer and her hubby the quiet and stern Cartographer, and the Fletcher (male) being courted by the Blacksmith (female). She luvs her smol feathered boi :3 Also cat.

Details 2 is some notes on the Player - who I kinda headcanon as being one of the last of an ancient and very powerful peoples known to the Villagers as “Builders” creative I know. Though they are ever-so-slightly shorter than Villagers in-game, I think with the variety of player “skins” (pheno/genotypes), their height would vary as well, keeping within .25+/- of 2 blocks. Maybe the ancient Builders also “built” some new DNA and that’s why all the Players look so weird... Also pupper who is big.

Details 3 are some notes on the “Nitwit” villagers who I think would have higher standing in the Village than just comedic relief, even if that is necessary in such a bleak world... No, I like to think they also work as general care-takers, watching the children while the adults work or acting as scouts for danger - (which explains why they sometimes stay out at night) - or as diplomats between Villages - hence why they seem to wander farther than their “professional” counterparts.

And Detail 4 are some extra character specific notes of some Villagers that I wanted to include :3

Here we have the village Cleric, a pale/ashen-toned man who is very serious about his job as Healer and initially distrusts the Player when they arrive, beaten and bruised, but is also the first to help when she beats back a group of zombies that night. He’s completely bald (no eyebrows) from practicing alchemy, and his ears have grown weird - after all, he had normal ears when he arrived right? You don’t remember either, huh? Weird... Also pictured is a weak Phantom, creatures that are not normally seen because they fly through the Between, a space between living and death, the waking and sleeping worlds... But Cleric sees them all the time because he’s constantly tired from insomnia, poor guy.

To the right is the Librarian, a kind soul that likes playing with redstone in their spare time because of the way it glitters and sifts through their fingers. They have some subtle magic that allows things they craft and touch to be faintly “enchanted” when left behind, even normal lanterns seem to glow brighter around them, or maybe that’s just their shining personality~. Like most Librarians however, they do know how to actively copy enchantments from the old tomes to current notebooks and happily trade them for more shiny red dust. As a final note about them, they know more than they say, hinting at things that have yet to happen, or maybe have in a different time... Or maybe they’re just daydreaming.

And finally at the bottom is the local Shepherd, a sweet guy, if a little absent-minded.
