Discord's back it seems. Saw people on the reddit thread I found about this that was from like 20 minutes ago saying that they had moderate success resetting their router
No, I refuse. Discord broke it, discord can fix it, I'm not putting in that much effort when I still had my phone and didn't have anything important to do
And I won, I didn't have to do shit and it got fixed eventually
So like... good work, but I'm still gonna complain. The correct amount of outages is zero when you're a big company. Full stop (though while I'm very much applying this to stuff like ISPs, I'm sure many of us would say that by that standard their ISP isn't acceptable... and it's not)

HAPPY CARAT DAY 💎
I've been a carat from the moment I heard their song BOOM BOOM from my classmate and I fell in love with them ever since and I'm still their fan until now. I hope I get to see them one day and manage to buy their albums since I haven't bought any album of theirs. Happy Hearts/Carat Day everyone 💜

- i'm in denial when i saw this part of the game
anyways, my ISP sucks, and I managed to play for a short while since my net is that scuffed. I'm gonna watch the VODs tomorrow instead and gonna pray and manifest to get good grades for the first semester of my senior year in university.
that's it for today, see you for my next update!
(spoiler: I'm currently playing a game called "A Date with Death" and it involves a hot male grim reaper); i'm gonna post updates/reactions when I finish playing.

(Emirati) I am very privileged in that I am local on both my mother and fathers side, so I am able to kind of... shut these things out if i want to? like I can just ignore all that they do and my life will be minimally impacted, cannot say the same for immigrants/expats esp if they aren't wealthy. however we are all aware that a lot of our activities are heavily monitored, especially social media since we have one ISP and they largely suck ass and block any "inconvenient" websites (even change .org). you can't really criticize the royals themselves but you can criticize their politics if you sugar coat the absolute life out of it so like "with all due respect to HRH and all those involved this would not be the most beneficial course of action because XYZ and instead they should consider XYZ". but yeah everyone has repeated the joke of "oooh, careful the black GMC is gonna get here any minute" if someone says something too controversial. but we are largely numb to it cuz its our only reality.
Damn. My family were immigrants in Saudi Arabia and you can imagine how they thought of us (like the dirt on their sandals). But people were rather chill about the royals. But a Saudi was always superior and a criticism of one was the end of the other.
Off topic, but once a woman bought a ribbon from a fabric store (it is like when you have them cut a certain length for you). She came back to return it and the Bengali man who owned the store said she couldn't since it had been cut. She called over her husband who literally berated the poor man so much and even took a pile of fabrics and threw them on the ground. Of course, he barked about how he was superior because he was born in the land of the Prophet. For a bloody piece of ribbon that cost less than a riyal. It was my glimpse into how awful people can be. The worst part was that my parents just watched. I remember losing sleep over it and not trusting them after that lol. A bit dramatic but I had been so sheltered to that point.

JOB2005
Andy receives a piece of news from Duffy in regards to the case involving his son. He gets a little heated and unfortunately it does not go well in the beginning.
Things do work themselves out though.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Savannah was startled when she heard Andy slam the backdoor as he came into the house. Quickly getting up from where she sat in their home office, she found him looking around.
“Andy, what are you..”
“Where’s Jake?”
“He’s in his room. What’s wrong?” She had barely gotten her question out when he had headed up the stairs. “Andy, what’s wrong?!”
She was too late though as Andy had already barged into Jake’s room.
“Did you write a story about being Ben’s killer?” He asked looking at their son.
“Dad…”
“Did you do it, Jake?” Andy asked again. Savannah stood in the doorway watching the two of them react to one another. Even she knew trying to stop Andy in this moment wouldn’t matter.
“Andy, can you please explain what you’re talking about so I can mediate?” She asked, finally moving into the room.
“Our son may have written a fictional story on some cutter fiction website about being Ben’s killer!” Andy answered, not daring to look away from Jake. “Did you do it?”
“No!” Jake answered looking at him. “I swear I didn’t! I mean yeah I wished the guy would leave me alone but I would never!”
Savannah could see the honest fear on Jake’s face as his father’s sudden outburst. This was why Jake had never been in a courtroom while they’d been working a trial. They didn’t have angry outbursts in the house for a reason.
“Andy, how do they know it was Jake?” She asked, looking at him.
“Username was JOB2005.” He answered by turning to look at her.
“Did the ISP for the story lead back to our house? To any of our computers?” She continued with her questions, looking at him. She was the defense lawyer busily working to talk her fuming husband down.
“Duffy said they’re running it right now.”
“Then lay off our child until you have answers. Jake didn’t write it. He just told you he didn’t write it. You do not get to be angry with him for writing it when there is no proof other than the username to tell you it was him.” She could see Andy’s shoulders relax as she spoke. “Now, apologize to our son.”
Jake looked at her, knowing that this was stressful for both of them as much as it was for him. But he had never seen his father blow up like this.
“I’m sorry, buddy.” Andy sighed, moving to sit next to him on the bed. “I shouldn’t have… I know you’ve told us everything and I shouldn’t have burst in here like that.”
Jake kept a small distance between them, still slightly scared of his father.
“I just want to be able to protect you, Jake. Ever since you were a baby, that’s all I’ve wanted. I see daily what the world can spit out in people. I know because of my dad. And you know that. I am sorry, bud. I really am.” He was staring at the floor, trying to control himself. “I just.. Duffy said the username and I couldn’t…”
“I didn’t write it. I promise. Even if I did, you and mom taught me well enough. Vent it to a sheet of paper in handwriting then burn it.” Jake answered looking at him. “I promise I didn’t write it. I wouldn’t even know what website that is.”
It was later that evening when they were starting to fix dinner that Duffy showed up, knocking on the backdoor. Savannah was busily showing Jake how to do something when Andy let her in.
“What’s the news?”
“The internet connection was here. But his laptop nor phone matched where it was posted from according to the website’s log history.” Duffy smiled, coming in. “And Savannah invited me to stay for dinner so I’m taking her up on it.”
“You’re always welcome here, Duf.” She answered over her shoulder as she turned back to help Jake.
Andy nodded, still not okay after the earlier outburst with Jake. He hadn’t exactly wanted to be close to him.
“What’s wrong, Andy?” Duffy asked, looking at him. “I figure you would be happy about that answer.”
“I had an outburst with Jake when I got home from you telling me after we searched the phone.” Andy sighed, shaking his head. “Jake’s not… He’s keeping his distance right now. This just makes me look more like the asshole.”
“He knows you love him, Andy. It’s just rough when you can’t take care of him and be the lawyer.” Duffy offered another smile as she gently squeezed Andy’s shoulder. “He’ll come around.”
“Hey Duffy!” Jake called, moving over to hug her. “Mom’s making her dad’s chicken piccata.”
“Oh god… You’re set on fattening anyone in this house up as much as you can, aren’t you, Sav?” Duffy asked, hugging Jake.
“Nah, just…. It’s either that or we order takeout and one of us has to go pick it up. I’d rather not be looked at like a sideshow freak.” She answered, looking over her shoulder at Duffy. “I’m glad you’re staying for dinner, by the way. With everyone…”
“Of course!” Duffy went over, spying the wine glass that was sitting next to Savannah. “You okay?” She asked quietly.
“Well enough. I thought for a second Andy was going to throttle Jake earlier.” She answered with a shrug.
“You defense lawyered him, didn’t you?” Duffy knew she was good at it. She’d been crossed by her too many times.
“Yep. And of course you come in with the truth that it didn’t come from one of our computers.” Savannah answered as she finished with what she was working on - the chicken - and moved to put it in the oven. “I knew it wasn’t. I know my son well enough.”
“You’ve taught him well enough.” Duffy smiled, shaking her head as she looked over to where Jake was playing with Theo in the living room. “He’s doing okay, right?”
“As well as can be expected. We’ve been seeing a family therapist once a week and he sees someone on his own as well.” She answered, taking a breath. “But today… Andy’s just not been okay since Joanna decided for us to see the genetic therapist. He had to go see his sperm donor.”
“God, that must have been rough.”
“I haven’t seen Andy feel so defeated since he lost his first case that first year we moved here.” Savannah knew it sucked for him. She had wanted to go do it herself but he’d put his foot down. “They’ll fix it. Give them a few hours and they’ll be fine.”
What Savannah wasn’t expecting is that it wasn’t going to be fine in a few hours. Jake had gone to bed without a word to them. She’d only discovered it after she’d gone up to see if he wanted ice cream. It had truly broken her heart at the thought that he was so upset over the accusation that he’d just chosen to go to bed. But she knew he needed his space from them - even if she hadn’t accused him of it. It was when she and Andy were getting ready for bed that they heard the knock on their door, making her curious as Andy opened the bedroom door to reveal a tear stain faced Jake.
“Baby boy, what’s wrong?” She asked looking over at him. Slowly she made her way over, wrapping him in her arms as he continued to sob. “Was it a bad dream?”
They both saw the soft nod as he clutched to her. Savannah slowly led him to the bed, pulling back the covers for him to crawl in.
“You can sleep with us tonight.” She said looking over at Andy. He nodded as Jake crawled into the bed. Theo came too of course, snuggling at the foot of the bed at Jake’s feet as Savannah finished her routine for the night.
Andy was hesitant as she disappeared into their bathroom, the sound of the water running as she brushed her teeth filling the room. He sat down on his side, checking his phone one more time before turning it on to ‘Do Not Disturb’ and sliding under the covers. Jake was still leaving a tiny bit of room between them as they laid there in bed waiting on Savannah.
“Bud… I hope you know I really am sorry about earlier today.” He looked over at Jake, knowing it must have made him feel like shit. “You’re already worried about things you shouldn’t have to worry about. And my blowing up like that wasn’t what you needed. It also wasn’t very appropriate of me either.”
“I know you’re trying to protect me, Dad…. I just… I haven’t lied to you either of you about this. I wasn’t there when Ben got killed. I gave you my knife because I was scared.” Jake answered curling himself into a ball in the sheets.
“I know, bud. And I can’t take away how I made you feel. But I promise, from here on out, I’ll ask you about it first before I start assuming things… because I really made an ass out of myself earlier today.”
“Yeah, you kind of did.” Jake laughed, looking up at Andy.
Savannah came out to find the both of them smiling as she headed over to her side of the bed. They were at least mending their relationship after Andy’s outburst that morning and she was happy that they had talked. Snuggling up behind Jake, she wrapped her arms around him and kissed the top of his head.
“Time for all good boys to go to sleep.” She whispered, squeezing him lightly before settling into her pillow.
And that was how the four of them spent the rest of the night, sleeping peacefully in their little cocoon where Jake was safe and home where he belonged and not even the world could change that.
Protect Your Browsing/Data Sharing
For free, because in this house I don’t believe in making people pay for basic human rights.
I’ve decided to share my browsing protecting tips here. Digital security is usually quite expensive, but it doesn’t have to be! In this day and age, you’ll be told to watch out for home-born hackers and ‘hacktivists’ accessing your data, but I gotta tell you, what your own governments and ISPs are doing makes this more important (aka: they’re worse).
I know with all the TIKTOK IS SPYING ON YOU stuff, a lot of my friends have come to me seeking some advice on this. This is also great if you don’t want parents checking your browsing >_> just sayin’
If anyone has questions - drop me an ask! I’ll always answer for this topic. I am also happy to ‘expand’ on one of these suggestions if they’re unclear :)
Note: This works under the assumption you have your default ISP provided router and can’t get another one for whatever reason. I will advise that if you can get an additional router, do so! Try to avoid the one the ISP has provided to you.
Additional Note: This is not ‘optimal’. There is no such thing in security – everything has a backdoor.
Let’s get cracking! This is a long, and thorough post, but I _do _have a pdf somewhere if you want it because it looks nicer :*)
Use Tor to browse.
There you go, there’s my advice leaves
https://support.torproject.org/ to Download/Install/Run.
Don’t change anything, except maybe using Tor in ‘bridge’ mode.
Okay, you can use other browsers (see: Chrome/Firefox), but they are not as secure as Tor.
USE A VPN IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE TOR! I prefer Firefox (extensions + good security)
________________________________________________________________
Install the following extensions if you have Chrome or Firefox:
Privacy Possum
Stops tracking cookies. PSA: Cookies are not evil, certain cookies can be.
Firefox:  https://addons.mozilla.org/nl/firefox/addon/privacy-possum/
Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/privacy-possum/ommfjecdpepadiafbnidoiggfpbnkfbj
Ghostery
Stops tracking adverts and cookies. Why do I need this in addition to Privacy Possum? Ghostery specifically looks at tracking cookie ads. It’s like adding MOAR POWAH to Privacy Possum.
Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/nl/firefox/addon/ghostery/
Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ghostery-%E2%80%93-privacy-ad-blo/mlomiejdfkolichcflejclcbmpeaniij?hl=nl
HTTPS Everywhere
Enforces HTTPS. If you look next to the URL in your browser, you’ll see the little lock which indicates the specific URL is secure and uses HTTPS. Many websites still use the old HTTP, which is not as secure and you should NEVER EVER VISIT AN HTTP SITE ITS LIKE READING A BOOK OVER SOMEONE’S SHOULDER, thank you.
Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/nl/firefox/addon/https-everywhere/
Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/https-everywhere/gcbommkclmclpchllfjekcdonpmejbdp?hl=nl
Adblock Plus
Foff, ads.* Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/nl/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/
DNS Settings
Ideally, you should change this on your router. ISPs use a default DNS – you don’t want to use anything those bastards say you should use.
Use Cloudflare or OpenDNS:
Cloudflare is more secure overall and keeps up to standards in addition to not storing your data, whereas OpenDNS is great at avoiding malicious websites, just take your pick really 😊There are a ton of other options, feel free to google ‘free DNS servers’. Google has it’s own as well, but, yaknow, it’s Google.
Cloudflare
Primary Server: 1.1.1.1
Secondary Server: 1.0.0.1
OpenDNS
Primary Server: 208.67.222.222
Secondary Server: 208.67.220.220
Add these to your router settings:
In a browser, go to http://192.168.1.1/ or http://192.168.1.0/ (it varies per router). This will lead to your router’s configuration portal. Don’t have a router with a configuration portal? Throw it in the trash and tell your ISP they suck for giving it to you.
Login to the admin portal. If you have not configured this or set a password, try the default combinations: usernames are usually ‘admin’ or blank, the passwords are usually blank, ‘admin’, or ‘1234’.
Each router is different, navigate to where it asks for DNS values or servers, and enter the above addresses. You will see ‘Static’ near the DNS options, select it. This also ensures you’re in the right place. If you’re not sure what to do, look up the model/make of your router and check how you can change DNS.
Whilst you’re at it, change your WiFi password from the default one, and create a proper password for the WiFi portal login. If these two things are kept as default, all these protection methods are pointless as it is easy to crack your router passwords.
Can’t do this on your router because your parents are ds?* No worries! This can be done on your device! :) Yeah, I know how parents work.
Windows OS
Go to Control Panel <Network and Internet < Network and Sharing Center
Click on the link next to “Connections:”* Click “Properties” in the dialogue that pops up.
Select Internet Protocol Version 4 < Click Properties < Select “Use Following DNS Servers” < Enter the primary and secondary server addresses
Do this again for Internet Protocol Version 6 in the list.
Boom. Windows is so nice to make this easy.
Mac OS
Go to Apple Menu < System Preferences < Network
Select the Network you’re connected to
Click Advanced
Select DNS Tab
Click the + button < Enter chosen DNS < Save
Linux OS
I’m going to assume if you’re using Linux, you know how to use the terminal and are using a modern Linux system. Enter these line by line. There are many ways to do this (Google is your friend)
·        sudo apt update
·        sudo apt install resolvconf
·        sudo systemctl status resolvconf.service (check that it is running)
·        sudo systemctl start resolvconf.service (to start it, use ‘enable’ instead of ‘start’ to enable)
·        sudo nano /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/head
·        nameserver YOUR.DNS.ADDRESS.HERE
·        nameserver YOUR.SECOND.DNS.ADDRESS.HERE
·        sudo systemctl start resolvconf.service
Android
Oh yeah, you can do this on phones too wiggles eyebrows. Note, if you’re using a VPN it will lock you out of editing this. Turn it off, edit your DNS, turn it back on. This can be tricky with mobile devices that have not been jailbroken (I don’t advise doing that if you have no clue what you’re doing).
Go to Settings < Connections < WiFi
Select the gear icon next to your current WiFi
Select Advanced < Ip Settings drop-down < Static
Enter chosen DNS options under “DNS 1” and “DNS 2”
iPhone
Go to Settings < Wi-Fi
Select the arrow button next to your current WiFi
Select DHCP tab, scroll down to DNS
Select DNS, and enter your DNS servers
TEST YOUR DNS IS WORKING:
OpenDNS: https://welcome.opendns.com/ (You’ll see a “Welcome to OpenDNS” message”
Cloudflare: https://www.cloudflare.com/ssl/encrypted-sni/ (You’ll see check marks for all fields)
________________________________________________________________
Turn of WPS on router. Enable encryption on router.
If you can access your router portal, find any sort of toggle or field that says “WPS” and disable it. WPS= bad.
Wherever there is an option for WPA2 (or higher) to enable, enable it.
Enable the firewall on your router and Operating System – ALWAYS. If you disable this, you’re disabling an additional layer of security. Firewalls are confusing things and a royal pain in the ass to configure, but having the default is better than having nothing.
________________________________________________________________
Configure your browsers.
Browsers have most things enabled by default, including tracking your location, turning your microphone on etc. Let’s disable that nonsense and make them ask you for permission because it’s 2020.
I’m using Chrome as an example below because it is INFAMOUS for this. Essentially, go through your browser and scroll through settings you don’t like.
Go to the little menu icon < select “Settings”
Sign out if it’s linked to your Google account. Let’s not give Chrome a reason to track your browsing history for your account >_>* Disable EVERYTHING:
Tumblr media
Here, I turned off everything I would find annoying except autocomplete because I’m lazy.
Tumblr media
NICE TRY GOOGLE, YOU CANT SAVE MY CREDIT CARD. (Seriously, don’t ever EVER autosave passwords/payment info).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The trick is to balance ease of use with security. These may vary from person to person, in general though, if there’s a setting ‘ask before etc.’ select that over ‘allow’.
As a rule of thumb:
NEVER ENABLE FLASH (not even an  ‘ask before’), NEVER ENABLE LOCATION (ask before is fine, but at your own risk), NEVER ENABLE CAMERA (ask before is fine, but at your own risk, use the desktop version of an application over the browser version), NEVER ENABLE MICROPHONE (same as camera)
________________________________________________________________
Additional Tipss
Check every single social media setting. You should disable anything that accesses your privacy, if possible.
Cover your camera with a sticker. Disable it unless it’s needed
Disable your mic unless you need it.
Turn off Bluetooth/NFC when you don’t need it.
Have two separate networks/Wi-Fi for smart devices and personal devices.
Always use two/multi-factor-authentication for every single app, site, device etc. that you can.
Biometrics are preferable and the usual chosen default (fingerprints, retina scan, NOT FACE OR VOICE THIS IS SO EASY TO IMMITATE BRO PICTURES ARE A THING)
SMS (try to avoid if you can, please)
App ‘token’ authentication. A good choice if done well.
Hard physical key or token. The best option (Google: Yubikey, for some information on how this works).
Passwords
I know you use the same password for everything – get a centralized password manager, and start using different ones. Examples include PasswordSafe, Keeper, Bitdefender etc. Try go for a Cloud provider, and pay a little bit for the extra security and backup. If they’re compromised, then you will know, and you’ll be able to change everything. You can tie password managers to a token too.
USE PASSPHRASES, 17 characters is a good average length, use a mix of characters, uppercase, lowercase, numbers, ascii etc.
It doesn’t matter if your password is ‘complex’, it matters if it is complex and long. Servers and computers these days are jacked up on tech steroids and can bruteforce many things, given enough time.
Anti-virus.
EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE ONE, ON EVERY DEVICE. If you have a device that can add AV, add it. This goes for phones, PCs, smartTVs, you name it.
Free versions are okay, some free ones I like are Bitdefender, Kaspersky, McAfee, Avast (hate their fihsfirstg89ewjg9srjgrd ads though).
Sorry Mac users, that belief that you don’t need one is from 2008. Windows has more security built in than Mac, which means Mac devices should 100% make sure they are adding an AV.
VPN
Ahhhhh. The great VPN. A tricky one. Most free versions I find incredibly slow, but give them a try – play around! A VPN is an excellent addition and these days, I’d argue it’s an absolute must. Many AV solutions include a VPN package with their deal. If you want to make sure those sites don’t share your data, this is the thing that will hurt the most - a good VPN will make it a jumbled mess.
Updates - just do them.
There is no complete security in this day and age – it really is just a matter of time. If you use social media, you’re traceable, be it by the company, ISP, some bored 10 year old, or your ex, your data is out there circulating. Once it’s on the internet, it’s there forever, so don’t worry too much and try to make sure it’s all complex binary trash so that they open it and go “WTF” 😊
a couple days my internet was being good enough i could almost instantly stream a movie...and now it’s been entirely down since yesterday evening. i hate our internet situation so much, dude, now our isp is trying to encourage us to stop using their service cuz they can make more money selling to businesses i guess, but theyre like, all like this. theyre all terrible. because we live in the middle of nowhere we’re never ever getting cable internet, it’s always gonna be satellite, and it’s always gonna suck ass and its so frustrating
kabhi naa chodne ke kasme vaade = she's gonna dump his broke ass in about 5 episodes.
sonali's here! she's literally the only character i like on this show right now so seeing her really brightens up my day.
are jai/sonali supposed to be twins? i kinda get the vibe that they are the same age.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
anyway, sonali, bless her heart, gave all her money to jai. which was a grand total of 150 rs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
jai manhoos is like “itne ka main kya karoonga?????”
NIKAL L****, PEHLI FURSAT MEIN NIKAL.
Tumblr media
god sonali take your money back from this fool.
rani still on maun vrat with di, and tbh, this is the smartest thing she's done on this show ever. reasons are stupid, but pooja really isn't worth wasting time with rn.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
amma continues to be the only sensible person on this damn show, by telling pooja not to waste time messing with kabir. and in response pooja's like NO BUT HE'S THE ONEEEEEEEE WHO... ffs wtf are you 6?????/ he offered to get you justice AFTER you tried to set his father on fire, and tried to make peace once more even after that. you're the one who started this petty nonsense with him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
OK THIS BISH CRAZY. before she at least used to listen to amma's voice of reason, now she's just straight up doing the opposite. she's become absolutely not worthy of rooting for, unless in situations of misogyny.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
what kinda next level of extra???????? this is beyond oberoi levels of extra also.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
there's everyone's shocked faces, and then there's kabir's eyeroll reaction, lmao.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
kabir toh has been getting out his rage by doing some phadda everyday, aaj dhruv ko finally outlet mila hai.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
but in vain. kabir just hauled him away like:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
valiant chachi trying to attack but lmaoooooooo, pooja's like "pls stop yelling; heart attack TYPES (complete with shoulder shimmy action) aa gaya toh ab doctor bhaaga bhaaga nahi aayega."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and also adds that chachi is very irritating and she doesn't know how she tolerated her for all this while. saalon ki bhadaas nikaal rahi hai, lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
lol pls note how kabir is mad, but not disagreeing or stopping her from saying any of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
lo bhai ab sabke saamne hogi inki tashanbaazi.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ohoho kyaaaaaa hi swag. just fuck and get it over with man.
Tumblr media
lol mummy legit said "tum jaati ho ya main sach much ke pagalpann pe utar aaoon??"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
kabir's like mom pls stop cockblocking can't you see we're doing foreplay here???? in any case, yes babe, i'm down to get dirty with you. in more ways than one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i was on his side for this battle until he said "hum tehre paidaaishi rayeez" and now instantly i want to kill him too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pooja sharma really living up to her namesake and giving appropriate response.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ugh. both of you suck. (BUT ALSO THEY ALWAYS LOOK SO TURNED ON AFTER TUSSLING WITH EACH OTHER???? Y’ALL NEED TO STOP WITH THIS SHIT.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
sab kabir ke oopar toot pad rahein hai. let the guy eat, unlike the rest of you, he's the only one who's done some shit today.
Tumblr media
dhruv is probably like ‘i don't like how those two had more sexual tension in front of all of us in these 3 min than i had with her in our bedroom for over a year.’
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
elevator music playing in kabir's head as everyone yells around him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
HEY! NOT THE MITHAIS! THERE'S LIKE ONE BOX PER PERSON, WHAT THE FUCK, THAT COULD HAVE BEEN DESSERT FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
savings scam alert!!
for only seven more hours (ending at 11:59pm EST 07/15/2018) stacksocial is offering a lifetime subscription to vpnsecure for $17 with code "SAVEJULY"
it's a zero-logging vpn that covers up to 5 devices & torrenting/streaming
you do need to be signed up & signed in to apply the savings code, and if you sign up using my referral link, I also earn a $10 credit! you don't have to, but like… it's free for you & it'd be nice for me lol.
vpn services right now afford political & privacy protection, ip changes for location-locked streaming media, protection against doxxing, and more; it's not just a piracy tool, and no matter what your intended use for it, this is an unbeatable price for that service. pass the word along if you know anyone who's interested or who'd benefit from this sale! :)
UPDATE: this sucks ass bc it sounded too good to be true, and it was— apparently stacksocial is known specifically for scamming customers into buying "lifetime" vpn subscriptions that originating companies don't honor (bc they aren't getting paid), so you end up giving them money for nothing…
and vpnsecure is known to log and leak data, plus potentially steal/sell users' bandwidth and re-route customers through other users' isp addresses for their "coverage," aka you enter a quasi peer to peer network of exploitation & isp swapping rather than using dedicated servers from your vpn provider, which exposes you to the fallout from almost anything other people in the customer base might be using the vpn for.
do not buy this deal! it was a bad recommendation and I messed up!
(Echee post) Did Emma Watson try stealing credit for a class?
Posted November 14, 2015
Emma Watson crafts a careful image, backed up by the media (even getting news outlets like the New York Times and the Associated Press to lie for her) and a legion of Harry Potter fans who uncritically accept anything their goddess/idol says as the truth. Still, it must suck, a lot, to put in a lot of effort into a group project and then have some witch (pun noted) steal all the credit on a national platform, kissing her own ass, and knowing you cannot do a single thing because her mentally ill fans will send you death/rape threats. Shocking. Who would do such a terrible thing? Below is a picture of the class of the Group Independent Study Project (GISP) at Brown University, called "How and Why We Fall In Love: Science, Psychology, and Philosophy" Notice that Watson who regularly claims to love school and education and whatnot is nowhere to be found. Remember that attendance is mandatory for GISPs and is required to pass the class. Also notice that despite Scout Willis (Emma's suite-mate) being the daughter of two multi-millionaires, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, she still attends class and does things for the class like singing Skinny Love (by Bon Iver) with Roman Gonzalez.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apparently this is Emma Watson's favorite class but Emma Watson does what Emma Watson wants, and that means not attending her favorite class or something? Who knows the truth of what was going on with that girl. The obnoxious thing is that Emma stans keep claiming this girl is super busy with balancing college/work (yeah which is why she, despite proclaiming how college is the most important thing/priority to her, decided to drop it to film Noah) but every single person is busy with outside activities but yeah somehow still managed to attend class. Like Amanda was busy working as a Minority Peer Counselor at the Third World Center to make sure minority students felt welcome on Brown's campus (the kind of campus that lets rich spoiled girls like Emma and Lena Sclove get away with everything). Sally was a Meiklejohn peer advisor and still managed to get good grades to make Phi Beta Kappa. Lauren founded SmartSitting and was busy working as a babysitter/nanny and working as manager and boss to connect families with caretakers. Victor chaired the planning committee for A Day on College Hill and was getting ready to work in Dr. Connor's lab. And omg Roman was doing a ton of shit. Meanwhile Emma is always whining and moaning about how much she does (without any results by the way).....and still getting paid in the tens of millions. Also, negotiating deals for Lancôme to get more money and attention despite claiming how much she hates fame and has too much money to know what to do with it. Vogue Magazine July 2011, interview by Amanda Foreman: One of her favorite courses at Brown was on the psychology of love. Rookie Magazine May 2013, interview with Tavi Gevinson: Tavi: I know you’re going back to Brown this fall, after taking a couple of years off for work. What made you decide on that school? Emma: A few different things. I really like the fact that it has a very open curriculum, that there aren’t any requirements. Really, I’ve kind of been in charge of my own education since I started out on Potter when I was 9 or 10, and I liked that I could design my own major if I wanted to, and I could take independent studies if I wanted to on subjects that weren’t necessarily in the curriculum. I did an independent study on the psychology and philosophy of how and why we fall in love, which was awesome. [Laughs] Tavi: Whoa! Do you know why? Can you tell me? Emma: [Laughs] We’d need like six hours! Opportunities like that, and the idea of classes being pass/fail, make it sound as if you don’t have to work as hard, but it actually gives you the freedom to try out things that you wouldn’t be able to do if you had to get a certain GPA on your transcript. It lets you take classes that you wouldn’t otherwise. And it attracts a certain type of student: [someone] very independent who wants to take responsibility and control of what they’re learning. That really appealed to me as well. Okay what? Notice how Emma claims "I did an independent study" and also "And it attracts a certain type of student: someone very independent who wants to take responsibility and control of what they're learning". It's pretty disgusting since this was a GROUP independent study project (GISP) and yet we have Emma lying and claiming she did it on her own and she's kissing her own ass and claiming ISPs (Independent Study Project) take someone very driven and focused. Oh yeah, that's why college athletes who can barely read take these classes to stay on the football team. I know Emma stans and loons are so pathetic they'll defend her over stealing credit, but imagine for a second that you work your ass off at work on or a homework project and somebody lies and steals the credit and they get promoted over you. How fair is that? Spoiled, rich, white girl, the most privileged kind of person in America (yes over men, since white women have the longest life spans, most safe jobs, least repercussions for breaking the law, and many many more) wants to get an unfair advantage? Pathetic. This GISP was mainly
led by Roman Gonzalez and Lauren Kay, as you can see by reading the Brown Daily Herald article on it (dated September 30, 2010):
Tumblr media
QUOTE Love, factually GISP analyzes the amorous by Amy Rasmussen At Brown, students tackle tough questions every day: They wrestle with organic chemistry, untangle streams of consciousness in Faulkner and talk — openly and unflinchingly — about love. Roman Gonzalez ’11, the independent studies co-coordinator for the Curricular Resource Center, and Lauren Kay ’11 are the leaders of the group independent study project, “The Study of Love,” which encompasses philosophy, neuroscience, religion, psychology, sociology and anthropology. On Monday and Wednesday nights, their group of 13 students gathers to think, to read about and to discuss love — at Brown, and everywhere else. Outlets for love Much like any other class at Brown, students in “The Study of Love” receive college credit, homework and a faculty advisor, Associate Professor of French Studies Virginia Krause. But the course topic and discussions are entirely student directed. The class syllabus, constructed by Gonzalez and accessible to the public on the course website loveatbrown.com, is loosely divided by Helen Fischer’s model of romantic love: lust, romantic love and attachment. Required readings, which were carefully selected by Gonzalez or recommended by Brown faculty, range from the works of Ovid and Shakespeare to primary scientific literature on the neurobiology of love. “I really want it to be a rigorous, scientific study of these things,” Gonzalez said. As he began to develop the class, Gonzalez said, he realized that while there are a number of outlets to discuss sexual health and behavior on campus, there are virtually none available for love or romance. “We want people to be talking more about it,” he added. “To be talking more about love, what it means and whether they’re okay with what it means.” Justine Palefsky ’13, a cognitive neuroscience concentrator in the class, had never even heard of GISPs until the beginning of the fall semester, she wrote in an e-mail to The Herald. When she learned of the class that was all about love, she jumped at the opportunity to take part. “It’s such a powerful force culturally that I feel like you’ve got to be curious about how and why it happens, and what it means to people today,” Palefsky wrote. Part of what makes the class work, Kay emphasized, is that every single person actually wants to be there. “Everyone has a different reason for taking this course,” Gonzalez added. “I want 13 different projects, 13 different paths.”
Finding love at Fish Co.? The group, which counts heavy weekly readings, student-led discussions and a 10-15 page research paper as part of their workload, still manages to handle things a bit differently than most Brown classes: they recently took a field trip. “We went to (the Fish Company) and asked people if they were in love,” Gonzalez said. “There would be people who would be hooking up in front of us, they would say no, and then keep hooking up.” Of the experience, Kay said that a lot of what happened at Fish Co. made her uncomfortable, but she found it to be an interesting place to observe the dynamics of Brown students. What we are “trying to get at here is what is relevant to love,” Kay said. “To a historical analysis of dating — to what’s actually going on after Fish Co., and before.” Ultimately, everyone in the class is required to take part in one of two final projects for the course. Gonzalez is taking charge of the creation of a 30-minute documentary and Kay’s group is in the process of developing a survey that she hopes to eventually publish. Gonzalez, who has a strong interest in filmmaking, said that he plans for the documentary to include both class discussion and interviews with students and faculty. Clips of videos, in which students on the Main Green are asked if they’ve ever been in love, and how they know, are currently available for viewing on the course website and Facebook page. The survey the other half of the class is developing has its roots in a similar project Kay did in her sophomore year. The original survey, which focused mainly on sexual behavior, has been expanded by the group into a 14-page series of questions about everything from marriage to sexual behavior and beliefs. “We want the survey to focus on love, not just sexual behavior,” Kay said. “I want to get it out there to more than just Brown students.” Kay said she hopes to distribute the survey to students in large lecture classes by the end of the semester and to publish the results within a year. The group is currently working with professors to seek approval from the Institutional Review Board for the survey. Love’s labour won Ultimately, Kay said she would like her experience to be about changing perceptions — in the class, at Brown and throughout the world. “I want people feeling happier about the cultures in which we live and the things that we do,” she said. “Dating and romance can be really wonderful things, but they’re not always.” While Gonzalez came into the study with experience — both as a participant and creator — of previous GISPs, it is a novel path for many of the students in the class. “We aren’t learning for the sake of regurgitating material on some final exam,” Palefsky wrote. “We are doing this for the sake of our own exploration of something that profoundly interests us.” Kay, who had never completed a GISP before her senior year, spoke passionately of the benefits of a student-driven class, remarking that everyone should take part in at least one during their time at Brown. “It wasn’t one of my issues to fight for, and now it is,” she said. Though both Gonzalez and Kay are set to graduate in the spring, they hope that the project will extend into next semester and beyond. Gonzalez is already planning his next GISP: “The Science, Psychology, and Philosophy of How and Why We Fall out of Love, and Why Love Fails.” “The project should continue,” Gonzalez said. “I think it needs to continue.”
I wish Scout Willis (Emma's suitemate at Brown) would knock some sense into Emma for lying all the time.....
Below is the syllabus for the class: How and Why We Fall In Love: Science, Psychology, and Philosophy Fall 2010 Note: For the personal Love blogs, you may do any of the following. (1) Comment on our reading (2) Write a post for the LoveAtBrown blog (3) Take an article on romantic love and analyze it with rigor. ********* Adviser: Virginia Krause GISP Student Coordinator: Roman Gonzalez The Goal The goal of this class is to examine, in a very interdisciplinary way, how and why people fall in love, to examine what we mean when we say we’re in love, and what informs these ideas. The Structure The class is divided by themes in the study of love. We try to loosely follow the progression of falling in love, beginning with loneliness and longing, transitioning to attraction and the mating game, then to the experience of loving someone, followed by sex (both in and out of love), attachment, thoughts on marriage, and we end with a broader view of love in today’s world. This loosely follows the Helen Fisher model of romantic love (lust, romantic love, attachment), which we will call into question. We end with cultural/anthropological/historical/contemporary perspectives. The class is primarily discussion, held twice a week, with mini projects throughout. One person will take notes per discussion and post them. Each week we try to blend as many disciplines as we can into our study. We will read selected relevant scholarly articles from the sciences, excerpts from philosophical texts to give us historical and conceptual insights, and pay some attention to pop culture to try and figure out where love is today and where it’s going. Guest Lecturers To further emphasize the earnestness of our study, it would be helpful to note we have been in contact with 13 departments to form this GISP. Guest lecturers are listed below in the syllabus. We have contacted some of our primary sources directly (Robert Sternberg, Alain De Botton, Irving Singer, Rachel Herz), and Professor Irving Singer has asked to be kept in the loop about the progress of our study. Sternberg and De Botton have uncertain futures ahead of them, but asked to be contacted next fall. Interested Guest Lecturers Virginia Krause, French; Bernard Reginster, Philosophy; Mark Cladis, Religious Studies; Carlos Aizenman, Neuroscience; Joachim Kreuger, Psychology; Elizabeth Burbank-Gilb, AmCiv; Our Sources Our sources have been collected from independent research from all members of the GISP, with the team leader organizing the process. Many of our readings also came from recommendations of faculty in the Neuroscience, Religious Studies, Biology, Psychiatry, Psychology, AmCiv, French, and Cognitive Science departments, which have all been enthusiastic and helpful in our study. Some of the weaker reading days were designed to accommodate scheduling guest lecturers, so some readings may be sacrificed come the fall. Course Requirements •1 10-15 page academic paper addressing one of the questions/issues in the study of love. •A collective statistical analysis of all studies done through the semester. •Participation: 1 blog post per week on the theme in discussion •Participation: continual contribution of new research/studies via blog or in class •Participation: 2 studies conducted on Love at Brown (groups of 3). •Participation: attendance •Participation: involvement in the production of the documentary: “A Study In Love” The homepage for the GISP is loveatbrown wordpress which Roman Gonzalez has been updating regularly and publicizing. This will be a place where assignments/ideas are posted. Each student is required to create their own WordPress blog and give a short response to the readings of the previous week. The Guerilla Studies Every few weeks a group of GISP members will conduct and video-record (via Roman’s equipment) surveys to learn more about how Brown University students, faculty, and staff think about and practice romantic love. The questions and methodology for the studies will more or less be
determined according to the interests of the class at the given time. We have suggested some topics below. The Paper The final paper, which will be the only paper (10-15 pages), will be an in-depth analysis of a specific issue, theme, or problem in our study of love. It should have something to do with Why or How We Fall In Love. Given the varying backgrounds of people in the course, the papers can be written in whatever academic form is most comfortable for them. In this way all members of the class can pay particular attention to one area of interest throughout the semester and offer analysis through the scope of their individual project. The Documentary The documentary will examine the goals of the GISP (see above “Goals” header) within the framework of the Brown University campus. The documentary will be composed of several elements, including: (1) recorded class discussions, (2) Main Green interviews with students [which can be done simultaneously with the Guerilla Studies], (3) Dedicated interviews with Brown University students and faculty [ie: Rachel Herz, Bernard Reginster, Mark Cladis]. (4) Dedicated interviews with relevant faculty at nearby universities [ie: Singer, Fisher], (5) interviews with Providence community members. The footage will be edited over the winter of 2010-2011 and the final product will not be graded, but submitted to the Ivy Film Festival. Continuing Study- Love GISP Part II All members of the GISP plan to write and propose a follow-up GISP for the Spring semester entitled, “How and Why We Fall Out of Love: or Why Love Fails”, looking at the science, psychology, and philosophy of waning love, detachment, infidelity, divorce, suicide, “heartache”, and related topics. There will be an additional section on unrequited love. Syllabus Summer Reading On Love: A Novel by Alain De Botton. This book addresses many philosophical issues with romantic love, following the author through his attraction and relationship with a girl named Chloe, whom he meets on a plane. April 2019-June2019
If you ever feel like you can’t do something or feel powerless in a situation, look back and remember every thing you had to deal with the past three months.:
-Loss of full time employee (I guess she was mad they wouldn’t give her the raise she didn’t deserve but asked for anyway...) so we hired one person to replace.
-Loss of part time employee. Hired a new associate. She told us she was giving Aldo her two week notice. She texted me the morning of her first day (FIRST DAY!) and called off. Never heard from her again after I texted her back. Had to scramble to hire another person and worked 6 days a week through the entire month of April. Worked 180 hours but was paid for 160 hours.
-Had two people complain about me to my DM. Said I was spending too much time in the back and didn’t seem motivated. Oh, excuse me, I’m only doing EVERYTHING to make the store run BY MYSELF.
-Loss of another full time employee. He complained about me to corporate because of a miscommunication involving overtime pay. We ended up firing his ass, thank god. Unfortunately it led to me working more.
-Hired and trained 4 new people. Had no access to hire them through the system. Called help desk probably 50 times over the course of two months to get them hired. It was so annoying and super complicated.
-Posted 3 different ads on Indeed to get people hired. Called countless people to schedule interviews. Conducted about 30-40 interviews over the course of two months to find people.
-All the Monday stuff- email, boards, schedule, switching monthly box, creating monthly schedule, creating monthly sales goals, updating goals in the system, AOP, completing touchbases for everyone, keeping everyone motivated, training 4 fucking people, ALL BY MYSELF
-Oversaw new lighting being installed - constant phone calls, had to reschedule them to come back in and re-position the lights.
-Printer stopped working for a week. We had to turn it off and turn it back on each time we wanted to print something (at least 10 times a day). Had to order and schedule someone to come out and install the new printer.
-Floorset execution- we did 4 floorsets in the month of May. I completed 2 almost by myself.
-One floorset was due on a Monday, we had a visit from our regional on Tuesday. I worked a 12 hour day to finish the floorset. I lost my cool and ended up crying in front of DM and RM because I was so OVERWHELMED. She was nice about it but it was super embarrassing. I then had to stay and take floorset photos after they left. Hauling out a huge ladder while store was open and taking photos a specific way.
-AC stopped working and we were without it for 4 days. Constant complaints from employees and had to do a floorset in a hot store.
-Sinks were clogged, scheduled someone to come fix.
-Rugs are torn, picked up gorilla glue.
-ISP computer stopped working one day. Spent the day on the phone with help desk to get it working again.
-Camera monitor stopped working right. Scheduled maintenance for someone to come repair it. He says he has to wait and get it approved through corporate.
-Idiot customer issues.
-Had to write up an associate already after he’s been there one month because he has already been tardy three times. He also called off Mother’s Day weekend which was mandatory (gave me a doctor’s note that looked like it was in his handwriting) and thinks that I can’t see through his bullshit lies.
-Rushed out of bed today because another new person sucks. She called off because her boyfriend’s car got towed and had no way to work. I was supposed to be off today, but had to rush in and work the morning for her.
I am so done. I need a vacation, 5 straight days of sleep, and all the wine.
June 24th can’t some soon enough. (Welcome back, Sarah, aren’t you so glad to be here?) :P
edit:
June 10, 2019
Just when I thought I was on easy street, the universe decided I hadn’t had enough. Today Ben called and quit over the phone. Oh, and did I mention that the new girl we hired did two no call no shows last week? Super cool.
SO. Now I get to work 47 hours this week with unpaid overtime and 12 days in a row. I seriously hope karma hits him hard. I hope karma gets every single asshole that left and every single asshole (well only one) that makes me feel like it’s pulling teeth to get them to cover a fucking shift. If I didn’t enjoy the job, I would have left already. We shall see how the next few months go and if it’s not good, then I’m looking elsewhere. I’ve dealt with more shit than what most people can handle.
My little rig: first in the chain there is a line6 Relay g30 wireless (not the best, but it gets the job done in small venues with no tone sucking). There it comes a discontinued Morpheus Bomber (sometimes I put here a Whammy IV instead, but I prefer the more organic-sounding Bomber). Then, the pedals: a bunch of TC (Flashback, Vortex, T2), Maxon OD808, Boss Super Chorus, ISP Decimator and a Red Witch Violetta Delay (love this little one!). All of them goes through a chinese Joyo looper/switcher (AKA The Tape Dancing Killer) and finally everything is powered with one of the few power supplies that can handle all this AND my 9vAC Whammy, the Yankee MS2
Noice. This is a sick board for gigging. Every time I see Yankee stuff I want their giant ass power supply again. So I can power the universe.  I still haven’t had good time with a Bomber, but they are definitely interesting and I’ve heard great things from friends of mine who use the hell out of their Whammys.
Thanks for sharing!!
