Idk if this’ll help anyone or if these are even good… just thought of stuff self shipper could do, I guess.

Anywho, here’s a list of things yo,u as a self shipper, can do for fun.

(This will be added onto with time)

Proship/Comship/Anti-Antis DNI

Play Tomodachi Life, make yourself, your main F/O, and then a bunch of family and friends and see how the shenanigans play out.

Play Sims (my choice is 4, but any one will work), same as before but this time you have mods and can control you and your F/O’s however you please.

Make kandi jewelry for each of your F/O’s, whether it’s a bracelet with their name or just a necklace with a color scheme you think fits them.

Purchase something custom from etsy and/or fiverr. These can be care packages, letters, plushies, art pieces, fanfics, maybe you could find someone who does RP asmrs, and my personal favorites an RP or an annotated book.

Look on youtube for asmrs, whether they’re RP, sleeping beside or those muffled playlist scenarios.

For those of is that are age regressor, make a custom deco paci based on your F/O.

Credits to @myselfshipdiary for this one, make a Pinterest board. They can feature fanart, aesthetic images or heck maybe recipes you would cook for them and memes you would show them.

If you have the skills, or heck even if you don’t (life’s too short, try everything, learn new skills), design something based on them. A dress, a cake, a room, a candy platter, a party, an outfit, a plushie, literally anything!

Make a breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner you think they would like! Maybe if you bring your lunch to work, make a bento for yourself that you would send to work with them.

Go on to your online shopping sites and make wishlists of thing you’d think they would want/like.

Do some research on perfume/cologne, and either track down or commission one you think they’d wear. You can do the same for all necessary toiletries if you’d like to take it a step further.

Play around on spotify (or your music service of choice) and make playlists for various scenarios.

Piggybacking of the last one, find a song that you would make their ringtone and think of what their contact name would be in your phone.

Pick out a ring you think would be the engagement/wedding ring they would give you.

Make paper doll's of you/ your self insert and your f/os) along with attachable paper clothes!

If you have access to a printer and a blank notebook/sketchbook along with some glue, you can make a scrapbook with pictures of your f/o(s)! You can also add drawings you made and anything like stickers, washi tape, etc.

This one is digital, edit a transparent of your f/os) into a selfie of yours to make a couples photo! You can print it out and put it in a frame. Also, Dollar Tree sells frames that you can also paint, put stickers on, anything!

There is an app called Social Dummy, create a social media world with you and all your F/O’s on it!

Make perler bead pixel art of your f/o.

cringetober day three : unnecessarily complex fit !!! i have been itching to draw c!tommy so here u go !!! <333 he seems like a skirt over pants guy tbh so that's what i did. i would have added more but i was short on time :(

prompts / design explanation under cut !!

design explanation !!!!

first off, i hc c!tommy as a moobloom hybrid (hence the flowers, ears, tail, and spots), created specifically by prime (hence the eyes !!). he does not have horns but does have a cloth devil horn headband since he was a child. his hair in the braid & clasp is courtesy of techno as like. a family thing. the emerald necklace is also courtesy of techno. the bandana is matching with tubbo. the necklace with many different colored gems is a family thing that ranboo gave him. the compass is, well, the compass. the shirt design, legwarmers, and skirt are just for fun. his bracelets and ring are also from techno. i would have added kandi but i didn't have time :( the sweater is made from friends wool. the cloud buttons on the sweater are big because c!tommy has shaky hands which makes it hard to grip things. the gloves were c!wilbur's. the aroace and trans pins are my headcanons. the ribbons are tribute to cc!technoblade. the patches on his pants are for cat and mellohi. the beads on his shoelaces he made himself. he has braces because he never took them off after the beginning of lmanburg. the blue stains are from ghostbur.

She will literally wear them so fucking much, Diva is always and forever a fashion girl— her clothes are either thrifted or designer, it’s one or the other (or both!)— but for the love of god, this girl can NOT sew even if her life depended on it.

Diva also can’t knit nor crochet, so she’s really in awe with your talent for craftsmanship and to make HER something to WEAR?

Just be prepared when she’s asking for more sets and cute accessories. In return though she’ll make you cute kandy and accessories :3

Sweatpants anon here! I have no idea when I'm gonna get started tbh. I don't have any patches, just a shit ton of safety pins. I'm gonna pin patches and fabric on instead of sewing, because my hands shake too much and my back aches a lot. I'm hoping to use some of my birthday money on kandi beads, fabric markers, and black fabric, but we'll see! I know punk is all about diy, but sometimes it feels like everyone already expects you to know HOW to diy. Sorry for the rambling!

you can staple down patches as well

For patches you can use any color fabric you have if you paint the fabric black first!

But also you don't need to just make black patches you can make colorful ones or ones or patterned fabric! Get creative

I made my pink patch pants patches mainly out of black hoodie fabric i cut up. I made a lot of my jeans out of a pair of leggings i cut up it was terrible. Denim is meant to be best but ive never even made a patch with denim before!

So yeah if you can find any clothes ur willing to spare or even just crop a shirt and use the extra fabric left over. Or cut the sleeves of a shirt and use that fabric. Or turn jeans into jorts. Summer is coming up so lots of fabric opportunity.

Use safety pins themself to decorate. You can make an image using the safety pins look up designs other ppl make using safety pins.

Straight up use permanent marker to draw on ur pants. My gf luna draws all over the back of her vest in permanent marker and its punk as fuck and she looks so cool.

You can safety pin a chain on them to look cool. A simple light chain can be found using a necklace chain.

Safety pin a zipper to a leg .

you could add lil straps to it.

Add more pockets!!

okay here we go

I dont have an uhh actual name for the oc (yet), ill try to think about one soon. Anyways

He's (obv referring to my damn skippy oc) energetic and constantly moving around the place. Damn skippy oc try to sit still in one place (failed INSTANTLY).

+ "Naturally curious (Good example for this idea would be the song "rainwater") and lives in their daydreams" kinda person. (When robots attack) (ik theres the line 'how i wish this was just a dream' in when robots attack, but I imagine the scenario wasnt a "daydream" he has and moreso of an actual dream that feels real.)

[going back to the last part, I imagine the entire damn skippy album is just the oc going on these silly tangents abt their life + daydreams (maybe minus "ode to crayola", as I already have a diff oc for that song alone)]

Pronouns - He/they (Was originally gonna go with he/him but i like the concept of "he/they DS oc better)

Physical features !!!

DS has these swirls in their eyes, like the back of the album cover. Confession - Every now and then i think the pinkish color makes him look high but then i add the blue and im like "nuh uh" HWKAN 😭

They also have these star pupils, I added the idea when i first designed the oc back in jan-feb time period. Btw these features arent like contact lenses those are his actual eyes :3 I imagine my DS oc to be like... 80% human and the 20% is uhhh I dont know that answer

Along with this, theres like this ink or whatever that seeps from his eyes. Theyre not tears or anything, no matter what they do to remove the ink it just comes back eventually, but the ink only gets down to a certain point to where it just stops flowing.

small features !!! he wears a lot of stickers on their face, mainly because the stickers are really cool

LOTS of kandi bracelets/wrist bands/spiked bracelets. There probably was a time where he was a scene kid, and they still take inspiration from that 2000s/2010s scene time period.

[side note!!! this doesnt relate with my oc 100% but

on the topic of the kandi bracelets part, DS makes a lot of kandi bracelets for HTTJB (another oc based on a LD album) (The hip to the javabean oc isnt my oc, its @shrimpmcbites 's). Occasionally DS will just give HTTJB a new kandi bracelet for no apparent reason. ]

LOTS OF COLOR !!!!!!!! DS constantly wears so many things dealing with color and bright things, like as if those saturated bright colorful photos were a person.

DS IS TRANS!!!!!! trans ftm to be specific. fuck making all my characters different.... i WILL project on every one of them

(on a specific note, DS hasnt gotten any sort of medical transition like HRT or top/bottom surgery)

Projecting on my oc once more !!!! but fuck i dont care - DS is aroace and queerplatonic !!!! + DS is also in a qpr W/HTTJB because me and @shrimpmcbites said so muahaha (we are both projecting...)

(Geeks is love is abt them !!!!! the line "I don't think they'll ever get the groovy standards that we set for love" fits oh so perfectly with the fact the DS and HTTJB oc's are in a qpr)

Okay now for a bit of silly facts

Favorite drink - Tea !!! of any kind !!!! or maybe koolaid or the type of water drinks where you pour the syrup of a flavor in water and you get juice if yk what im talking abt

Favorite food - I imagine DS to really like smores. especially the ones with too much extra stuff and too many marshmellows and chocolate

Favorite type of music - anything DS can dance to. or just move around to. He doesn't really like sad songs.

Favorite color -Probably all of them but mainly the really saturated BRIGHT colors

Hobbies -

Dancing (not really good at it, + is not a professional, they just do it bc he NEEDS a way to channel all of the internal energy they have.),

Reading (only comic/graphic novels, anything else and he just loses attention)

KANDI - They has SO. MANY. KANDI. STUFF. AT HOME. probably even a few pieces of kandi clothing because of all of the extra time they have on his hands.

Video games - Esp those really retro ones, but he'll play almost any video game that goes in their hands

HOLY SHIT THIS POST IS SO LONG. idk what else to add but if anyone reads this till the end and has any input about the oc send me an ask about it because my DS oc (and @shrimpmcbites 's HTTJB oc) has been CLAWING at my brain and i need people to talk to me about them

Art Comms because Im broke!

Hi, my name is Jules, I am part of a system and we are queer, ADHD, autistic, and broke in college! The last of my savings that I worked hard to gain in 2021 has finally run out, but I still need to pay for food, testosterone, and uber to go GET that testosterone.

So I am opening art commissions!

I do everything from furries, to doodles, to character design, even weaponry if given enough time! You can even get a little doodle for pwyw!

Doodles: PWYW, will be in black and white, complexity will go up as the price point does

Character design: 30 USD, includes two views of the character

Furry reference sheet: 45 USD, +5 if I am designing the character for you, comes with two views of your character, a separate tail/eye/paw view and details(pronouns, pride flags, hobbies etc)

Weapon/keyblade design: 20 USD, includes the name of the weapon and a diagonal view of the weapon. Must specify which real life weapon/s equivalents it would resemble

There will be a slight discount of 2-5$ for people asking me to draw glowy/luminous things, depending on the price! I love drawing those!

I also make Kandi if you are interested!

Kandi singles would be 5 dollars each, and a pack of 5 would be 15! I'll make a separate post when these are available, as I'm not sure how much shipping will cost yet.

All of this money will go towards things like groceries, my transition(clothing, testosterone, a new binder, name change, etc), and making sure I don't put my account in the red over the course of the semester!

My current goal is to make about 200$: enough for a new binder since my old ones are hurting me a LOT, they're worn down like hell, and some T and groceries for the next little while.

I'll start off with a few answers to questions a pal in a server asked when I went PLEASE PLEASE ASK ME lol.

Fave color-- green.

Fave childhood item-- action figures; he also likes retro (80s) game consoles.

Fave food-- very classic Americana, so pizza, subs, steak, etc. Homemade is better.

Dogs or cats?- I associate him both with cats (namely black cats) and huskies, but I think he would be a dog person.

Okay, now here's the contents of my 'things I know about F/O!Central' doc. You should feel special; no one's seen this except maybe you (I don't remember) and one another friend. Used a OC emoji ask games questions for these.

Under the cut because wow long!

things I associate with my selfship: the colors dark green, XCOM blue and black, stars, cats, mallard ducks, otters, swords, oranges, acoustic guitar, the concepts of Halloween, camping, cooking, and crochet, the ocean, foxes, flannels, sweaters, map-making, weapons, coffee, action figures, 80s/90s/early 2000s stuff

- does crochet; he's actually better at it than I am

- very loyal; sarcastic and stoic; secretly enjoys soft comfy things (feels like he has to hide it + his more vulnerable side because of being a guy?)

- he swears but not super often and I don't think he says fuck unless it's like REALLY bad (or uh. Really Good. 😏)

- not superstitious (canon?)

- 'ghosts aren't real Commander'

- doesn't like gambling

- uses fidget stuff for more like. PTSD and dissociative stuff than ADHD/autism but the point is he uses them

-- likes retro (80s, 90s) stuff; as a kid enjoyed early Nintendo titles

-- leery of furbies (sorry furbies this mental image is too funny)

-- pokemon team (chosen from mons he'd know about) Riolu (Lucario), Turtwig (Torterra), Cubone (Marowak), Absol, Axew (Haxorus), and Eevee (Sylveon); sylveon is shiny

⏳ HOURGLASS - are they usually late or on-time?

Punctual if he can help it.

🔫 PISTOL - do they trust people easily? how easily will they turn their back to someone? have they been backstabbed before? will they betray someone if given an ultimatum?

He doesn't trust that easily, but once he does, he'd rather die than turn his back on them. He's been backstabbed before, in the days after base fall. If given a ultimatum, say death or betrayal, he'd die.

He likes interior design and building things.

📦 PACKAGE - what are some “most likely to…” that can apply to them?

'Mostly likely to forgo medical attention.'

'Mostly likely to shield someone else with his body.'

🖍️ CRAYON - what advice would you give to them?

Please see a therapist. Also love me but that's a request not advice.

⚙️ GEAR - what are your ocs thoughts on science & art? which do they give more importance to? how much value do they place on each?

Central doesn't really get science - he's more of a brawny type, but he respects it. He doesn't get art that much either, but he likes to see what others make.

🔧 WRENCH - are they good at fixing relationships? or do they tend to avoid doing so?

He's fairly good at repairing relationships that are non-personal. With personal relationships, he flounders a bit but tries his best.

❇️ SPARKLE - what is their most prized possession? what do they value?

Values practical things the most, like supplies, weapons, clothes, medical stuff, food, but is also pretty soft when it comes to personalized gifts. As for prized possession, it's the kandi bracelet the Commander gave him.

📏 RULER - is your oc well educated? where did they get their learning from?

Fairly well educated. I don't know yet because it hasn't been revealed to me (ie I haven't picked something that Feels correct).

🚲 BICYCLE - can they ride a bike? what do they remember from learning to ride a bicycle?

He can ride a bike.

🌩️ LIGHTNING - are they scared of lightning?

No.

💧 DROPLET - random angst headcanon?

He wears long sleeves to cover self harm scars. It's one other reason he misses the sweater.

❄️ SNOWFLAKE - do people consider them cold? if so, what made them this way?

Yes; trauma based.

🔥 FIRE - do they have any self destructive tendencies? what habits do they have that hinder them from becoming their best self?

The alcohol addiction is self destructive; he also self isolates. He also can be just kinda irritable and a bit a of a dick to others. He's working on it.

☁️ CLOUD - a soft headcanon

He crochets and buys plushies for the Commander.

🌟 GLOWING STAR - what do they think about when they look at the night sky? is there someone they want to star gaze with?

It used to excite him, but now he looks at the stars with disdain. He thinks about what ifs. Stargazing seems romantic, though-- he'd do that, if his partner wanted. He'd even enjoy it.

🌠 SHOOTING STAR - if they could make any wish with no repercussions, what wish would they make?

That XCOM had won the initial war.

☄️ COMET - what do people assume about them? are they right?

That he's cold, unfeeling, mean. He IS cold, but it's an outside persona. He feels, he just doesn't express it much.

💓 BEATING HEART - what gets their heart racing?

Physical touch (man's touch starved).

💘 HEART W/ ARROW - what traits do they look for in a relationship? do they believe in love at first sight?

Loyalty, mostly. And no.

💗 GROWING HEART - if they have a crush, is it noticable? what changes when they’re in love?

...Honestly? Yeah it kinda is * stares at canon with my ship goggles on *; he gets softer for them, wayyyy devoted.

❤️ RED HEART - their love language(s)?

To others: Affirmation and gift giving.

For himself (receiving): Acts of service and physical touch.

💙 BLUE HEART - do they miss their s/o easily? how do they act when their s/o isn’t around?

Because it's the Commander, he gets a little weird if they're apart for too long. He doesn't want to lose them again. He's often colder and standoff-ish even more when he doesn't know his partner is around. This slowly improves though.

💚 GREEN HEART - what things make your oc feel comforted? hugs, kisses, food?

Food; he likes cooking, especially homemade. Gifts, especially handmade. Parallel play.

💖 SPARKLING HEART - are they a subtle or a showy lover?

Subtle.

💌 LOVE LETTER - do they like love letters? what kind of messages do they leave for their partner?

He thinks love letters are way too vulnerable and mushy but at the Commander's request leaves little sticky notes around with encouragement.

Hey what would you recommend for a dj/rave themed superhero? I know Kandi as bead jewelry for the wrists/arms, is there any other design things you would recommend?

i dont really know that much about superheroes, like obviously i get the gist of them but im not too familiar with their intricacies. i had a teacher in high school who was very much into comic books/superheroes and i remember him saying a rave superhero would be a combination of like jubilee and dazzler. also there was that one fella in sky high who was a walking glowstick, i think that's the closest we've ever gotten LOL

kandi is one of the more easily recognizable parts of rave fashion but a lot of y2k or early 90s groover stuff works too. or gothic/industrial-influenced stuff like tripp nyc, demonia, etc. if you wanted a candy rave superhero they could wear either phats (kikwear, jnco, etc) or skirts with fluffies (not my favorite look but cant deny it was popular). you can also check out styles by cyberdog, though it's closer to y2k/cyber or gatecrasher than candy kid.

imo most cyberdog clothing looks more like a costume than an outfit, if that makes sense, so it would be great for a superhero. it's a very 'lasertag' aesthetic; definitively "clubwear", whereas most raver fashion is closer to streetwear. i guess it really depends on what the hero's powers are! if they cling to the warehouse walls of the underground and hide in the shadows, then the fluorescent clubwear might not be best, nor would kandi and nylon phats lmao. but if they're big and flashy and loud then the hi-vis neon is perfect!

DIRECTOR INTERVIEW

Director Neil Barlett discusses his 2008 production as he was just beginning to cast the actors.

At its very simplest level Romeo and Juliet is a powerful love story. What other key themes are you looking to bring to the fore?

I think Romeo and Juliet is one of the great plays about family - in particular, about how families can stifle and damage their children even while they believe and claim that they are loving them. And it's a great play about how a world which only values young women when they 'behave' and young men when they don't is a world doomed to repeat its mistakes forever.

Some of your previous productions have involved cross gender casting, will you be doing this with Romeo and Juliet?

Casting this play is thrilling - there are no dull parts! And the task is to find actors who can make you see afresh characters who a lot of people think they already know. Unlike Shakespeare, who wrote the part of Juliet for a young man, I'm going to cast a young woman.

In some of his plays (like Twelfth Night, which I did last year for the RSC with men playing women and women playing men) he is especially interesting in foregrounding the comedy and the eroticism of the confusions that cross-dressing on stage is so good at creating - things which he and his audience both clearly loved. But in Romeo and Juliet the energy of the play comes from the fact that the division of the sexes is rigid, conventional, well-policed, watched over buy the forces of Family and Church and so this time I'm going to do something which would have shocked an Elizabethan audience rigid - give the women's parts to women!

Can you tell us a bit more about the design for the costumes and set?

Romeo and Juliet is very much a play about Italy - the world of the play is very Catholic, very patriarchal, full of references to mid-day heat and short Italian tempers.

My designer Kandis Cook and I have been looking at the early films of Visconti and Pasolini and Fellini, and of course at Coppola's Italy in the Godfather trilogy. There is something about the clothes of 1940s and 50s Italy that seems very right; very sexy yet proper for the women, very macho for the men, all very conservative and repressed, both very body-denying and body-revealing. So the Nurse is going to look like an Italian widow, the Friar like a Catholic priest, the young men like the kind of sharp-suited boys in sunglasses you still see in the pavement cafes of Milan, Rome and Verona.

As for the set: the story of Romeo and Juliet has to go like a train, so you don't want to wait around for scene changes. The scenery is all in the words anyway. We're going to do it on a bare, open stage, creating all the locations with just a bed, a ladder and a few chairs and changing the atmosphere with just lights and music.

Did I mention that there's going to be a seven-musician-strong Italian fiesta band joining the company of 23 actors on stage..?

We hear you're experimenting with the choreography for the fight scenes and are not using swords...

Romeo and Juliet isn't a play about how sexy or entertaining violence is - it shows you how, step by dreadful step, male rivalry and machismo can, in just a few minutes, lead to a blade ripping into someone's body.

Because of the period we're putting the play in, the men will be carrying knives, rather than waving swords around. When you carry a knife, it colours the whole way you move, as well as the way you think and act. So I've asked my fight director Alison de Burgh to start with those ideas - not to think of the fights as swashbuckling interludes, but to make us really see the how and the why of violence erupting into daily life. It's pretty shocking - there's blood on the floor within minutes of the curtain going up.

Romeo and Juliet is one of Shakespeare's most well loved plays. Why do you think it has this enduring appeal?

People talk a lot about Romeo and Juliet being 'universal' - well, yes, all of us die, and all of us love, and all of us grieve - and Shakespeare finds words and images for those things that can speak directly to all sorts of people. But the play is actually about some very particular things, and it just so happens that with regard to these particular things the world hasn't changed so much since the year the play was written as we like to think.

We still tend to reward and value daughters when they 'behave', and reward and value boys when they misbehave. We still live in a culture where the values of patriarchy and religion - as expressed in the power of men over women, the power of families over their children - still conspire to stifle and damage just when they claim to love and nurture. Or, as Phillip Larkin put it so much more succinctly, "They f**k you up, your mum and dad; they don't mean to, but they do".

All of the parents and parent surrogates in the play believe they are doing the right thing - so why is it that the play ends with a city grieving over the corpses of two suicidal teenagers? We still don't have an answer to that question.

Have you directed the play before? Does it hold a particular appeal for you?

Romeo and Juliet was one of the first plays I directed during my time as Artistic Director of the Lyric Hammersmith - that was 15 years ago. I had fewer that half the number of performers I've got this time, and no money for set or costumes!

I think I love the play even more now than I did then. Perhaps now I can see the story from both sides of the generation divide - the cruelty, and the pathos, of the way the older people in the play are portrayed is astonishing.

But maybe, ultimately, I love it because I can still remember exactly what it feels like to be a teenager desperate to get your hands on someone, and knowing that that is forbidden, and I think there are moments in this play that speak about that feeling better than almost anything else.

Most people know how the play ends – how will you deal with this as a director?

Everyone knows how the play ends - but they always did, because Shakespeare tells you how the play ends right at the very beginning, in the famous opening chorus:

'Two households, both alike in dignity...."

He tells you that the lovers are going to die, that the vendetta between the two families is about the claim two new and innocent victims. So the play isn't about what is going to happen to these two beautiful young people; it is about how it happens - and, even more, about why it happens.

The Prince says, at the very end of the play, that the people of Verona should go away and talk about what has happened, about who should be punished and who forgiven now that the tragedy has happened. He means us, of course. We're the ones who need to talk. Tell the story with passion and clarity - and let the audience do the rest. That's my approach.

SET DESIGN, COSTUMES AND MUSIC

The design and music choices made by director Neil Bartlett and designer Kandis Cook.

TIME AND PLACE

Why set the play in Italy in the mid 20th century? Director Neil Bartlett and designer Kandis Cook felt that Romeo and Juliet needed to be set in a 'violently conservative society', a world where tight, archaic, policed conformity was in the air that the characters breathed. They felt that Italy in the early- to mid-20th century was ideal because:

It was a place where family vendettas could affect the lives of everyone in a small town

It was a patriarchal society; a 'man's world' where young women are confined to live within the home but young men are free to do as they please

It represented the Catholicism of the play (where going to church is important and the language evokes saints and religious icons)

They decided to keep the setting to the middle of the 20th century, but not a particular place or time.

SET DESIGN

When thinking of the visual world of the play, the first question that Neil and Kandis asked was: Why would there be anything on stage? With an acting company of 23, plus seven musicians, the space could be filled easily with just people. But Neil explained that the action in Romeo and Juliet moves at an very fast pace, cutting from scene to scene and changing location rapidly. To accommodate the storytelling and the numbers of people on stage, they decided to have a bare stage. The bare brick wall at the back was designed to echo the chilly damp churches you might visit in Italy - at odds with the heat and light outside. In the balcony scene, Romeo climbs over the wall and into Juliet's orchard garden.

The only pieces of set were chairs and Juliet's bed - which was also used as the balcony where it represents a private space where Juliet feels she can be herself.

The last scene in the play which takes place in the Capulet tomb contained the only major set change - the back wall split and moved down-stage. Neil felt that this scene is different from the others because Shakespeare brings everyone into the space to face the consequences of their actions. Juliet lies dead on her bed, surrounded by high metal railings which Romeo smashed through to be with her.

COSTUMES

The world of Verona was created by the costuming in this production. Around the walls of the rehearsal room, Kandis stuck print-outs and copies of images from her sources of inspiration:

Italian movies of Visconti and Fellini

Italian fashion shows in the 1950s

Itatian weddings in the 1950s

In rehearsals, the actors were asked to look at these images and share something they had noticed about them. Some of the things they noted were:

The weight and quality of the clothing

How stark the images were - everything was highly contrasted black and white

Wealth and family were important

Everyone had poise

There was a flamboyance to the characters

No-one was smiling

The images showed both passion and respect

MUSIC

Neil wanted the seven-piece band to be an integral part of the storytelling. Inspired by the film The Godfather, Neil wanted to use music to punctuate the action with raucous rough, vigorous sound. The band were modelled on an Italian municipal marching band comprising: piccolo, clarinet/soprano, saxophone, two trumpets, a trombone, a piano accordion and a bass drum.

meant to make this post w the castle too set (that's the brand that made the gothic ouji coord i posted earlier) but i was having technical difficulties getting the pictures from my phone to computer earlier so let me just note that the reason that picture was cut off at the knee was bc every article of clothing i've ordered within the last few months has decided to be delivered over the last few days and that included my fucking hag order. so the entire time i was posing in my fancy lil outfit i was strategically positioning myself so you wouldn't see these:

n e ways. the boots are three sizes too big for me bc all the smaller sizes were sold out but luckily they're wearable if i wear thick socks (hence the. unicorns.) and i was going to put the leg warmers over the boots like the hag models do but i was scared i'd rip the lining of them so i didn't . the way you're supposed to style the boots is with the lil strawberry music note patches + plush add-ons attached to the laces but they'd sold out of one of the plushes by the time i picked up the boots and i didn't want them to be uneven + am not rlly into the whole strawberry craze so i was planning on getting some cheap miku plushies and sewing some clips onto the backs of their heads to diy it + get some miku patches and attach velcro to them + maybe hang a couple of my half million vocaloid charms to the kandi strands (why vocaloid? well you see. music motif.) but they. threw in the music note patches as a freebie so now i'm second guessing myself. also i have this insane attachment to good packaging design which is. a problem i attribute to my childhood monster high obsession. but i couldn't bear to throw away the pretty box so now the tonal dissonance continues bc the castle too set now lives in the hag box. ft my ciels bc by the time i realized i actually had ciels over my mom's house (my main ciel + all my other figures at at my dad's) i'd already changed out of it so i couldn't take a picture with them. so this mainly exists to reconcile that fact. the ciels were returned to the plushie pile after this photo was taken bc the box is not a proper habitat for them

i love this cat. my brothers cat is so sweet. she keeps making biscuits on me which would be even nicer if she wasnt pinning me down by the ribcage. its so nice that she gets cuddly at night and sleeps by me. i love how she purrs. ive never really taken care of a cat before this. i think im certifiably a fan of cats now.

i’m continuing to pack for college. its weird, though, because i still have two weeks to stay. i dont want to pack up all my beads because i might want to make kandi in the next two weeks. i dont want to pack my clothes because i dont know what i want to wear yet. ive packed a lot of school supplies and dorm stuff for now.

i think i might get back into web design for a bit. i havent updated my neocities in ages lol

Ultimate Luck 🍀 Nagito Komaeda

Here’s my Nagito HC design! Full details under cut because I wrote a LOT

EDIT: I forgot to add that he’s autistic

HC Details/Additions:

Intersex- Partial Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome (basically mostly feminine body with undeveloped masculine reproductive system and a feminine reproductive system coexisting)

Raised female, but transitioned as young teen. Has not had too surgery, has a small chest and no dysphoria about them but might get it just out of convenience.

Genderfluid transmasc (neoboy usually)

Gay

Ectomorph - Meaning he is extremely lean with little muscle mass. He could eat as much as he wants but his body struggles keeping the wait. It doesn’t help that he simply doesn’t eat that much, to the point of sometimes only eating once a day (Much to everyone’s dismay)

Small chest, slightly larger hips and butt, little muscle, and sickly skinny

Can‘t catch a tan to save his life, but also doesn’t sunburn very easily. He might get some freckles though! They just fade when he’s not outside constantly.

Has asthma, though it’s not as bad as it could be because he took immunotherapy as a kid which helped with allergies. He forgets his inhaler a lot.

Autistic- He stims with his hands a lot, and rubs his patches (different textures). He also verbally stims, but he masks that most. In my opinion, most of his existing personality already aligns with someone with autism, but I won’t go into detail. (Also yes I am projecting with this diagnosis a tad bit but I do not care)

He’s the same height, just wears platform boots on top of that so he’s taller now.

Dry, fluffy, curly hair- He might have ringlets if it wasn’t so dry and sick. It gets bleached by the sun on top of the sickness so it’s extra pale. He probably bleached it at some point just for the heck of it. Point is, he has hair damage

Peircings- Right eyebrow, multiple on ears, used to have nose and bellybutton piercings

Eyes- there‘s no definite pupil how I drew them. This doesnt mean he has eye problems, though I wouldn’t be surprised. It’s to show he has a carefree look most of the time. He also has pale eyes too, which means they are sensitive to light and he would wear sunglasses if he cared about his eye health. Also he wears eyeliner, though it’s nothing special, just a wing or outline. He has under eye bags, whether they’re from his allergies (asthma) or lack of sleep is a mystery.

Injuries- he hurts himself often, so he has a lot of bandages. Usually he has bandages on his fingers, even though he might only have scabs. He doesn’t want to pick the scabs, and he thinks they look cute. The bandage on his neck is from a burn and the one on his nose is a cut. He also has messed up cuticles from biting his nails when younger a lot (another reason for bandaging them).

Hands- bandages from injuries, nail polish (he likes to paint them different colors, and when he starts biting his nails again he puts the bad tasting one on to stop himself, also his nails are very chipped), rings, usually up and in motion to emphasize his speech (he talks with his hands). He also writes reminders on his hands or arm sometimes. He’s ambidextrous.

Jewlery- various necklaces, bracelets, and rings from his travels. He has a belt chain and collects cute charms too. He also has a dog tag with his name on it, though a small corner broke off. He has clover and skull charms, some cuter ribbons and animal shapes (notably a dog one that he doesn’t take out too often) and an intersex charm for pride. He collects bangles, pearls, beads, kandi, and any type of chain or bracelet he can get his hands on. He also has rings on his fingers when they don’t have bandages, usually simpler bands and no stones. He has a ring from his parents on the same chain as his dog tag, but that’s one of the only ones he owns with stones. He wears a choker, and has a belt chain instead of a wallet chain.

Clothing- it’s the same, but the jacket and pants are more ripped up. His sleeves aren’t ripped either, but he has patches on his jacket and pants now. He especially likes the clover one on his right knee. He has patches from his travels as souvenirs, like locations, concerts, or shapes that symbolize something to him.

Shoes- They’re calf-high platforms with chunky bottoms. Lace-ups with scuff marks, but Special because he doodles on them when he gets bored (a lot of things about talents and hope on them, but also daily reminders for himself).
