i finally took the initiative to go find out how to make an mp3 into a custom ringtone for iphone so i could put the windows 7 startup noise for my text tone. my flip phone's process was as easy as loading the mp3 onto my phone, but not so for iphones. i had to download itunes to my PC, show file extensions on my file explorer, convert my mp3 to m4a, change the m4a name to m4r, sync my iphone, then drag the file into tones, and THEN i could set it as my text tone. the benefits of being so productive today include having my cute little windows 7 text tone back :3c
