The Cameo Theatre at 1445 Washington Avenue opened its doors on November 4th, 1938. It is located in the Española Way Historic District, which in 1986 became the first historic district to ever be designated in Miami Beach. The theater was built in 1938 by New York theater magnate Herman Weingarten, as part of a $1,250,000 chain of 12 theaters in Miami and Miami Beach. Weingarten recognized the immense potential of the blooming area, proclaiming “This section is still in its infancy and I believe it to be the coming section of the country.”

The Art Deco style building was designed by architect Robert E. Collins and had a seating capacity of 1,160 with a balcony, a smoking loge, and an orchestra.

It’s interesting having been around this fandom for over two decades now and seeing so much art of Shadow grieving over Maria still. My brain is in parts over this XD

On the one hand, Shadow is more than just his grief. Though Maria and his tie to her does influence his decisions and motivations, it’s not the only thing in existence that drives him anymore.

On the other... I don’t think what Shadow did at the end of ShTH WAS actually letting go. I think that was a rushed attempt to chill his emotions and cut that part of him away from himself. Grief doesn’t work like that though. You have to go through it.

(In which case, to the above points... of course he’d then still be obsessing over it. The child needs therapy. We all agree on this.)

Lastly, and like, the actual real-world thing, the part that brings me joy in this, is that new fans to Sonic who didn’t know what Shadow’s backstory was now get to experience it fresh. You get to learn about Maria dying in the good year 2023. In fact, you may get to see it on film if the 3rd Sonic Movie has the nerve and clearance to show it!

And I’m excited! It’s a gut-wrenching moment! Now you get to suffer with the rest of us in the Knowingヽ(o＾▽＾o)ノ

God. a week ago I had a strange dream of being at a waterfront with a particular horse statue and it was so vivid I'm like I could not have made this up. Now I just remembered this is the Scottsdale waterfront. Checked gmaps and it said I was there 9 years ago lol.... Wow.

Back in my day Tumblr was all about galaxies and deep quotes I think? It's been a literal decade since I made this account.

Turns out my phone camera has some pretty cool settings you can mess with, so all of these are with iso turned aaaaall the way up (open I think? Idk I had the photography merit badge) and I set the exposure time to about 32 seconds and set my phone face down on the trunk of my car.

Regardless of my colorblindness, I really enjoyed the colors that came out from these long exposure times. I even enjoyed the streaking that came from the nearby streetlight and some questionable cleaning I had just done on the lenses.

//A Dretch DnD OC that was basically a joke character that had Fabio's face and hair on the body of a Dretch in an evil campaign when I was 13. Tumblr wise I've been on the site since it was made nearly, but I was 17 or so when I took up a character called Aatrox the Darkin Blade from League of Legends. I was pretty successful as him, as for various reasons, I will say ooc did not reflect my writing and while I've vastly improved since then? Most turned to me for Aatrox since I was one of the first, but my drabble speeches were pretty successful too along with writing. I no longer regret those times I guess even if I was kind of cringe or edgy, and had a bunch of fallouts from my own mental state as I just wasn't well or emotionally developed past a certain age in certain aspects until much later and in denial over my autism and aspd still. I can go into further detail privately if it's of interest, as while I have nothing to hide? It's probably wiser to keep it private but the people I knew from then, I know very few other than a handful now, but I'm so grateful toward them. They helped push me into self-reflecting, even if my problems weren't super obvious. So yeah, never expected tumblr with my first character on it to change me like that, but it did. I think it's important to keep note to why I mention it, but it's mostly behind me now.
