Sato is a Rito OC from my |Revali X OC fancomic| - He is the father of my OC (Anya) and has sadly passed at the time of our comic. - This was just a quick pencil sketch I threw into Photoshop for a rush job shading. Just a doodle pg. Born into the Rito tribe, Sato had always been destined for greatness. From the earliest days of his youth, it was evident that he possessed a rare gift – an unparalleled skill with the bow. His aim was uncanny, and his speed and bravery were second to none. The village recognized his talents early on, and Sato quickly became the pride of the Rito community.

But it wasn't just his archery prowess that set him apart. Sato was a natural leader, a charismatic force that drew people towards him. His loyalty to his people was unwavering, a blazing fire that fueled his every action. While he had a soft heart, Sato possessed the rare ability to set aside his emotions when it mattered most, whether in the heat of combat or during discussions among his peers.

Through numerous battles and victorious campaigns, Sato earned the respect and admiration of his fellow Rito. His many travels across the vast land of Hyrule had endowed him with a profound understanding of the world, one that had humbled and made him wise. The passion that once drove him into combat had evolved into a deep love for his people and community.

Sato had an innate talent for bringing people together. His experiences and interactions across the land had made him approachable and relatable to all. He treated everyone with respect and kindness, always striving to meet them on their own terms. His magnetic presence drew others towards him, and his words held weight.

As the years passed, Sato transitioned from being the village's fiercest warrior to becoming a skilled diplomat and ambassador for the Rito people. He embarked on journeys to far-off regions, negotiating trade agreements, peace treaties, and other essential matters on behalf of his people. His calm and centered demeanor, a stark contrast to his early days of battle, proved invaluable in these diplomatic endeavors.

Despite the trials and tribulations of his life, Sato maintained a sense of humor that endeared him to those around him. His quick wit and ability to bring levity to any situation made him a beloved figure among the Rito. Tall and imposing, he possessed striking features that many considered handsome. His white and silver feathers seemed to glisten in the sun, earning him the nickname "the ghost."

Though Sato and his beloved Hylian wife, Zyra (an alias name since she had run away and eloped with him. she didn't want to be found) , had perished in a tragedy years ago, their orphaned daughter Anya still strives to keep their spirits alive in her heart striving to become stronger and regain the pride her family lost at the time of her birth. though Satos contributions were great, his decision to follow his heart and wed a hylian broke all norms and traditions of his people. It was this decision that alienated Sato and his new family from Rito Village, but he never looked back. Sato's story was one of courage, leadership, and unwavering dedication to his community and inevidably, his heart. He is still a symbol of strength and inspiration amongst some of the Rito, that despite his decisions still held merit amongst a few. Sato was a testament to the enduring spirit of the heart in the vast and at times unforgiving land of Hyrule.

how did you develop your art style? it's really cute! and i am struggling to figure out how to develop my own style

Ahh thank you! I very much feel like I’m still developing my art style if I’m being honest 😅

Unfortunately the answer is what everyone else says:

-drawing regularly (I’ve been drawing almost daily for 3 ish years, and I improved much faster in that time than I had over the past 5 ish years where I was not regularly drawing)

- REFERENCE even if u don’t think u need it. Just having a picture of the Thing in the corner of your vision will improve your drawing. My art is always, without fail, better if I have a reference.

-drawing exercises: figure drawing, life drawing, 30 second sketches, 1 minute sketches ect. It looks SO UGLY at first but the more you do the stronger your shape language will become.

basically all the stuff they force you to do in art school (that’s what u pay all that money for… some old guy to shame u when u don’t do ur life drawings). Change how you approach your sketches, try different mediums/brushes ect. Recently ive been sketching in silhouettes rather than lines, which has rewired my brain, and my shape language has gotten so much better. DONT BE AFRAID TO MAKE UGLY ART in fact everyone should make as much ugly art as possible. For each good drawing u gotta do 10 uglies. Try to learn a new technical skill once in a while, like color theory or using line weights or procreate/photoshop skills…. U don’t need to know everything all at once but as u learn and add those skills to ur art u will see it improve (sounds crazy I know). Hit up TikTok or YouTube for art tutorials…. If you don’t know how to draw something, look up how! (Insane that it took me like 10 years of art to start watching art tutorials. Unrelated, I can now draw trees and foliage with ease)

Remember, if you feel stuck or blocked, go back to your technical skills. Draw an apple. Sketch some people. Render a 3d sphere. Practice shadows and perspective.

Personally I’ve been trying to exaggerate my shapes and simplifying my designs. I’ve been using the Oberon brush for blocking colors and the dry ink brush for linework.

And, honestly, don’t feel like you need to tie yourself down to one “style”, you may find that pushing and experimenting with anything you find fun or interesting might be where u find it, u know?

Fanfiction Facts Part Three

This one is a bit shorter! More rules that my story goes on~

19. It’s never mentioned in the story, (Because the story is in Kota's POV) but I head canon that Towa’s hair was once much darker, if not black, like her brother Dabura. The reason her hair is white in canon, is because when changes in Time are made too consecutively, it can result in this side effect. Time Patrollers can also succumb to this, so must take breaks in between missions. (There are multiple instances in the story of this happening, to background characters and mains) Traveling through Time alters your DNA (almost causing a “temporary aging” effect to occur) and traveling too often or too much without rest, can cause a permanent change in coloration. This is one of the many reasons why the Supreme Kai of Time advices rest after beating main story quests. (So grinding to become stronger in different Time Era's is not a good thing in this universe!) More info will be added to my Xenoverse 2 Guidebook under "Time Related Illnesses" once I figure out a name for this condition~ But this is the reason why, Towa’s hair is white. (In my story at least!!) This does not count towards Mira and Fu, whose hair is naturally white (bio engineered perks!)

20. For Demon’s human illusions, they MUST reflect their current look. As if they are looking in a reflection. This ability is not named yet in the story, but leaning towards Mirror Image.

Example, Fu has white hair. So his hair in his human form must also be light in coloration. Same with skin tones and eye colors, they must take on a more-natural coloration or even duller look. (So they can blend in better with the current inhabitants) Changes when using this ability, CANNOT be too drastic, because again, its meant to reflect the Demon's outward appearance. This skill does not come naturally to Demons and must be learned.

21. Fu ages at a normal rate, due to not being a full blooded Demon. Full blooded Demon's age much slower, so they still look young while easily being in their 100's. (They die looking pretty youthful still!) Fu was essentially built "incomplete," as a vessel for Mechikabura. Once fused with Mechi, then he will become "whole," and stop aging completely or can even de-age. (However in my story, Mechikabura is not a part of this story since this story follows Xenoverse 2's game canon and not the Heroes anime/comic, so he is only mentioned by name a couple times, at least in the Arc's I do have planned out.) Fu is 18 years old when he's introduced.

so I just started solo recovery from anorexia, and in the few days it's been since I began, I've been eating three meals and snacks and not really feelong guilty for it. that's good, and I'm proud of myself for it!! but I feel like I should be having a harder time with it or it means I wasnt really sick. I know that isnt true, and that I was plenty sick, but I was just wondering if maybe you could provide some validation/reassurance?

also, do you have any advice for judging how much to eat? I'm kind of worried that recovery will lead to consistently overeating, but I dont really know how much I should be eating, so I dont know how much is too much

Your ED is valid and you should be proud of yourself for taking the necessary steps to heal! There can be a number of things that can cause the healing stage to vary. It is often typical that anorexic people will struggle to eat again just because they've spent so much time feeling like they're controlling all the difficult things in their life through food restriction, to the point where it mingles with OCD-like food rituals and compulsions. So they become scared to eat "normally" again because letting go of the compulsions feels like letting go of that control. Others struggle to eat larger portions because their stomachs have shrunk, and so eating more can be painful and bloating, which adds to their negative body image. All of these struggles are valid, but it's also possible for you to have had a restrictive eating disorder without developing these problems (or at least, without developing them YET.) That could make it easier to stop restricting.

However, I would recommend being careful. I experienced having latent restrictive-eating problems emerging down the line some time after I thought I had stopped restricting. Just because you're starting on the road to recovery doesn't mean that you're cured. If therapist-hunting isn't an option for you right now, I might suggest you examine some of the factors in your life that may have led you down the road to restricting. (If you wanted to talk to me a little bit more about that, I might have some advice more specific to your situation. There are a lot of factors that contribute to the development of an ED. A lot of times, avoiding things like diet/fitness articles can help, or just avoiding diet culture in general, as well as photoshopped images like the ones in magazines. Do people still read paper magazines? When I was in my prime restricting years it was paper magazines, but now they might be fully online. Either way, the images are super photoshopped.) Take a little time to do internal work for yourself and give yourself a little self-love in the specific areas where you're struggling mentally. Make a practice of this, and you'll have a stronger line of defense against ED resurgence. If you have the option to work with a skilled therapist on this, I highly recommend that.

As for worrying about portions - practice intuitive eating as much as possible. Try to eat whenever you're hungry. Make sure to focus on and enjoy every bite, and reflect on how your stomach and body are feeling from eating until you feel full. If you feel good from nourishing your body, reflect on that feeling. Your body deserves to feel as healthy and good as possible, make sure you always reflect on that. I tend not to give specific portion recs on this blog because different bodies need different things and I worry it will trigger others' EDs, but if you want specific portion advice you could try contacting a nutritionist. But generally, getting a varied, full-nutrient diet and then eating till you feel full. Best of luck! Let me know if there's more specific advice I could offer.

Cucalorus Film Festival, May 26, 2023

Hey everybody! My name is Arianne Tong, and I am interning with the Cucalorus Film Festival this summer. I am thankful for this opportunity and am excited to learn more about film festivals. Here are my learning objectives for this internship:

Expand my knowledge of the various aspects of development and promotion for a film festival. Also, use Film Freeway to analyze and select the films that will be screened and identify target audiences for specific films.

Become more comfortable and experienced with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create promotional materials for the Lumbee Festival, Surfalorus Festival, and Cucalorus Festival.

Develop stronger communication and marketing skills in team meetings and community events.

I chose these learning objectives based on the work that the Cucalorus team had me doing within the first week. I have already gotten to sit in on their team meeting this week, and I learned a lot about the community outreach that the festival engages in months before the event. How Do I Become a VFX Artist After My 12th Grade?

Have you ever wondered how the wizards on broomsticks in the Harry Potter films or the dragons spewing fire in the Game of Thrones series were created? What exactly is that green screen you frequently see in "behind-the-scenes" clips from practically all movies, but especially fantasy films? If that piques your interest, a career as a VFX artist might be for you. Making a decision about a career after the 12th grade can be very difficult, in part because there are so many options. Visual effects (VFX) is the industry for you if you're interested in a creative job or want to work in the movie business.

A vfx class in Pune teaches students how to manipulate images on the screen to create visual effects that cannot be captured in real life. A course in visual effects will train you to become an expert in the discipline. VFX, or visual effects, refers to the creation of visuals that are physically impossible to construct.

Let's look at everything you need to do to become a VFX artist now, shall we?

1. Understand your characteristics:

The first step in choosing a career is determining whether your personality attributes match the demands of the position. The following qualities make someone a good VFX artist:

• Design talent – In this position, it's critical to have an eye for color combinations, a visual sense of what appears appealing on-screen, and attention to detail.

• Teamwork – VFX is ultimately a team endeavor involving several people working on the same project. Being a team player and correctly coordinating with your coworkers and colleagues goes a long way.

• Meeting deadlines – The VFX industry often operates under a strict schedule, thus as a VFX Artist, you will constantly be required to do your assignments by the deadlines assigned to you.

2. Enroll in a VFX program at a reputable institution:

You can enroll in one of the top VFX programs as soon as you finish your 12th grade year. Along with graduating, you can enroll in full-time certificate programs in visual effects.

3. Hone your technical abilities:

This is the most crucial part of your quest. Make sure to learn these programs while you are taking a course:

Houdini

Adobe Premiere Pro

Nuke

ZBrush

Mocha

For a VFX artist, knowing how to code can be a great asset. The most used language in VFX and gaming is python.

4. While studying, take on independent tasks

To improve your chances of being hired by a premier VFX business, you must have a strong portfolio. You can create your own independent projects and work as a freelance VFX artist. They will help you develop your portfolio in addition to providing you with real-world experience.

The adaptability of this field is its greatest benefit. Whether you graduated from high school or dropped out of college doesn't matter if you have a passion for visual effects and computer graphics. Your skill set is the sole thing an employer would be considering. You will have a better chance of finding employment right away after successfully completing your degree if you receive placement assistance.

Yumiko, The Last Female Samurai

"Nakano Takeko was the last female samurai to ever live, and she was a fierce warrior who fought for her country until the very end. But even death could not contain her spirit.

FMP midway update

For my FMP(final major project) i have to create a game project proposal and present my ideas to investors, similarly to the television show shark tank.

For this I had to consider a variety of options as to what my game would develop into. Creating a project proposal helped me put my thoughts and ideas onto paper and start developing my base design ideas.

The Game initial context:

Title: Deep Drilling

Description: My plan is to have a Co-op, open world sandbox strategy game based around drilling/mining resources from select areas. The user must start drilling in the spawn area and eventually will discover new areas with better rewards, environments, and scenery. The drawbacks of this include a deeper strategy aspect, needing to plan to defeat stronger enemies, upgrading drills and storage to improve efficiency and unlock further advancements.

Interest: There will be intense strategy components to create an intricate factory while defending it from in game assets such as enemies. The user must create a farm profitable enough to create defences capable of keeping them safe. Another thing that will draw players in is the immediate satisfaction of creating a functional factory with upgraded defences and equipment.

Research: Looking at inspiration from “Miners Haven”, “Terratech” and “Slime rancher” for some design aspects and heavily inspiring gameplay mechanics. The specific rewards via certain areas from slime rancher is interesting and canonical. A great mechanic from my research sources is not only the mining feature from Terratech that uses mining refiners and more, when combined with the tools and mechanics from the Roblox game Miners Haven I feel like it will be a cohesive result.

Specialist: In the future I aspire to become a prop/character concept artist. What I am looking forward to creating is the creation and designs of the drills and scenery.

Techniques: I will be using specific software such as Photoshop for the initial ideas and final art pieces (Concept and Cover art) and Unity to construct the main assets of the game, including the gameplay mechanics.

User experience: A casual game with some combat scenes when the user must defend their land.

For this project, my deadline was 15 weeks but due to changes outside of my control it was reduced to 14 weeks. Because of this my timeline changed and my schedule became busier.

Originally I decided to spend most of my time in photoshop designing my artwork from there. Below I have posted some of the pieces created.

But after evaluating my time spent and products created I decided my time would be better spent in blender creating 3d models. Creating these models taught me new skills I can use not just in this project but in the future too. Including how to create animations in blender.

The wall above was one of my first things made and it did not suit the design language i was trying to display. So i decided to create all of my next projects using the same techniques to create a set design language.

The design language

I wanted to display a child friendly design language that was easy to read. To do this i used blocky shapes and colours when building base pieces. The reason I say base pieces is because the player’s base should be distinguishable from the in game assets.

After implementing my design language these are some of the things i created.

You can tell with the bevelled edges that they are from the same in game world and are easy on the eyes.

About Internet Water Army in the case

[The purpose of this post is to provide a perspective as to why the Media is raised/blamed regarding the issue. Especially for international fans, as all the encounters happened on Weibo. Also, those who were on weibo, do read through if you will. So although it's lengthy, do try to read all, at least if not the last two parts].

The Media referred by most, is not the common perception of the Entertainment Industry (celebrities, directors, shows, channels, staff etc), but the dark side of the Entertainment industry: Antis, toxic fans, toxic marketing accounts. They are called Internet Water Army💧.

Toxic Marketing Accounts is one of the things they do, these accounts on Weibo has millions of followers, each of their post likes are in the hundred thousands (buyable) to give credibility to passer-bys. Some use similar names to Official accounts, some use similar logos. Their posts are usually subjective or aims to steer view points of a certain celebrity/movie/show. Before the latest update of this post (18.08.21), I just group them all together and term them as Immoral Media*.

*Below is my original post using my original term because at point of first draft, I did not know the official term (so have changed/added the term from Immoral Media to Internet Water Army in content below but retain the content based off first draft).

If you have chased before celebrities, or just simply passed by an article about certain celebrities, recall how some title that caught your attentions were like. Clickbaits is one of the many things they do. If GZ is your first and you do not have Weibo, then this read(link) is good enough.

Just as the term Immoral Media (Internet Water Army), it’s immoral and unethical, but they exists because they are paid to do so. Who pays them? Entertainment Companies, and maybe other Organisations

Normal Media/Marketing vs Immoral Media/Toxic Marketing/Internet Water Army

When a show or movie comes out, the normal Marketing department will generate outreach and buzz so that people know a show is airing soon/know the show exists etc. Official announcements are not enough, because there isn’t much context (limited content to put up as well) so having some other Marketing accounts do the buzz in a planned period to gain awareness through posts, some articles about the casts, the plot summary, the production details etc is normal. This is Marketing, bigger companies will probably have stronger Marketing departments (aka influence) and can hire more Marketing accounts to generate buzz. Celebrities (aka casts) themselves, are also Marketing point.

Then we have the Internet Water Army/Immoral Media, these are what they mainly do:

Create Fanfiction-rumors: Creating rumors about celebrities to shift audience perception of them. [eg. XX was seen with XX leaving a hotel, XX was drunk on Event Y and did ZZZ to AA, XX is dating BB and has been in a relationship for N years etc]

Honing their brain degrading skills: Come up with titled clickbait headings/ trending topics with negative written contents. For articles, exceptionally out of heading content related to the celebrity. [Refer to Baidu, it’s a winner of these, feel free to Google Translate]

Epitome of a self-deteriorate: Creating something out of nothing and react to that something negatively to gain massive attention/reaction [eg. “XX raised his hand on show Y” - dk what XX fans are thinking, are they literally blind? XX fans are tasteless just like XX hahaha / “XX did community service” - they are acting / “XX breathed” - From the start, i thought XX was NN, but I am so ZZZ that XX breathed. Metaphor - Ability to use bare hands to collect paychecks from the urinal/toilet bowl where their boss/client peed in: Doing all of the above.

Apologies for any term offense, but not apologetic of the term context. This is what they do for a living. Any normal human being who do not like anything, will generally not be interested at anything about it in the first place, so to have some antis/toxic fans knowing certain things and inside jokes/references in their posts questions their goal.

On involved in Internet Water Army/Immoral Media 💧

Fans on weibo during these few months witnessed many of the above on GZ. From rumored girlfriend (spammed with articles) to mean and nasty comments on trending topics, to bouts of insults and fake emotional cryouts by certain fan accounts that GZ's office has to release a number of Lawyer’s letter to them.

Aside from WOH there were also a few other BL adaptation films that were actually released this year but they did not reach exponential success like WOH. BL adaptations are so highly followed by because this is the key to wealth. Literally. Successful BLs like The Untamed and Dao Mu Bi Ji saw the amount of wealth fans are willing to spend on the celebrity as compared to say BG or idols (younger fan groups). This is why when WOH shot up exponentially, Immoral Media start to sweat.

Major anticipated adaptations were supposed to air this year eg. Hao Yi Xing(HYX), Sha Po Lang(SPL) etc but was severely held back due to the stricter change in BL adaptations submitting their scripts for approval regulations (WOH manage to submit earlier before the change). Because of this, most final films were rejected and they have to keep re-editing, by then WOH was already months into reaping tonnes of major brand endorsements, shows/movie casting, variety show appearances etc, something that is seen as too successful in the Immoral Media’s eyes, because they have to create buzz for other celebrities, some are specific celebrity oriented and thus circulate rumors about having endorsement opportunities shifted from celebrity X to GZ (think fanfiction-rumors and shit stirrer) causes tension in celebrity fandoms. - A real event just in July:

The Untamed’s cp fandom is called BJYX which had always been in the Top 1 of Cps for 2 years dropped for awhile to Top 2, over taken by LLD. Both of them had a war and hated each fandom, one fandom is somehow not allowed to like the other fandom even casually after everything broke out because it started out with some BJYX toxics photoshopped GZ on of portraits .

Also another case of which he wore the same costume as WYB did in a previous photoshoot and it became a useless comparison of who wore better, who looks better, degrading the other. (Finger stirring shit).

Now apply all of the above things the Internet Water Army do and we have them earning money, while both fandom reacts and hate each other.

In LLD, our own fans started suspecting each other on who is a spy from BJYX and what not.

The first few months of Internet Water Army saw LLDs mostly mocking them because the average age is 30-40s, they know and see through all of their intentions so nothing was big. They were trumpeting and LLDs didn’t even care, what with all the doing tedious stats was not even important to them.

Over time, as the issues they create became more and more serious LLDs did start to care, reporting Toxic Marketing accounts/toxic fans became a daily task, go vote for GZ at certain polls etc, solo fans, and LLD fans also split apart. Solo fans think cp fans use GZ to furnish their fantasies, and cp fans thinks they are the ones furnishing their dreaming-girls fantasy with (aka my boyfriend).

There was also a period where LLD had a habit of continuously mentioning “we are in the 30-40s so we can see through everything about the media, we are all fans for the first time, we are good at spending money (because of purchase power compared to other fandoms)” it was prevalent for so long it felt odd, ‘chasing celebrities the first time’ in particular sounds more vulnerable as a weakness than a strength / sth to be proud of.

Gradually, more secretive/insider confirmed ‘sweets’ were flying around. Fans advised each other to not circulate, and the mindset of “if you know, you know, dont tell.” (This is a problematic mentality, of which fans will still be curious to know and search for it themselves, but this secretive hook is unhealthy. Over the long term, it becomes hard for existing fans to know a lot of things properly to judge for themselves, especially those who knew and publicly reacted, but blasting those who ask and telling those who know to keep quiet, this did not help some to understand why on certain things, even so for international fans, dont know and dont understand, causing misunderstandings. Yes, certain information should not be shared, so why should you react about it publicly in the first place? - Internet Water Army effect)

The last few months (for example the July fan war) created a tonne of seriousness and anger. A period even broke out with a tonne of ‘insider confirmed sweets’ (which is LLD’s daily dose of happiness), it was hard to tell what was real and what was fake. Trending topics became negative and everyone warned each other not to enter because it will give the trends ‘views’ and trend statistics, in reality entering there is to enter an exhibition by the self-deteriorates, collecting the fandom's traffic data (it's a sure lose for fans each time they enter the topic). Everyone even starts thinking that the trend’s popularity was caused by each other (it's true but it can be bought daily and not caused by fans). There was a raise in the number of fans who were getting emotional because they want to protect but Internet Water Army kept coming and got worse, because fans, tbh, not just GZ fans, every other celebrity’s fans are always fighting with an Army, getting played and plotted in that Army's calendar.

Even so, despite all of these, LLD is actually a fandom Internet Water Army may find the hardest to break because they understand GZ so much, they could tell what are fake news regarding GZ, because among everything above, there are still plenty of logical fans to stop many fans from drifting too far and debunking them. Why? 30-40s are grown up adults.

Why 13.8.21 and the Japan issue is plotted?

First of all, in the political climate of China, there are many political dates in a month that is NO-Entertainment news. Because it’s the honoring of certain important political events. It’s like Remembrance Day, thus the sensitivity is higher. On these days, there are usually no news and even the Internet Water Army zip their pants. This year also marks the 100th year of the Chinese Communist Party(link)

Secondly, he had no work schedule on 13 August 2021. A great full day to focus on any other news (because if he had schedules, everyone will turn their attention to his events, what trumpeting outside is just bird chirps).

Thirdly, when the news broke out, especially about the shrine, the reception was actually quite serious within the fandom so the scale of this might be big but to what extent in reality?

Lastly, 15.8.21 marks the 76th anniversary of the announcement of surrender of Japanese in World War 2(link). Also a day of NO-Entertainment news.

14.8.21 - [Chinese Valentine's Day, Eve of the 75th Anniversary of the announcement of Japanese surrender] Keep a wishful and happy demenaor to not destroy the mood, suppressed thoughts about ZZH's Japan news

15.8.21 - [75th Anniversary of the announcement of Japanese surrender, Official announcement of ZZH's boycott and all China social media account ban] NO-Entertainment news day, Solemn day, not allowed to voice anything so the fandom can only wait for tomorrow to start voicing out/debunking but before they can wait out, the boycott and social media ban happened, every official accounts about him was gone overnight, fans had no time to react

17.8.21 - [All official fandom accounts related to ZZH and JunZhe were locked/removed]

Forced to be silent since the day his matter broke out, over the course of official news release with everything taken down in a day because of the Japan correspondence, his accounts banned overnight across the Chinese media and the overnight cancellation, fans could not speak anything about it. Overnight cancellation like this scale happened for the first time in China, leaving no time to react by the fandom, by the time they can, they are silenced.

When the period of events occured within a set of special dates, it’s not coincidence.

Conclusion

Because he was too successful and had many actually honorable past things, and a hard to influence fandom, Internet Water Army view him as a huge threat enough to want to destroy him, because it’s hard to defeat. With a chance they have, they will hold it till the end, bringing up this issue to the Government during this period also shows a sign of how scared they were of him and perhaps his fandom to plot something like this.

Updated on 19 August: Here's a screenshot of assumed calculation on the scale of GZ success for reference while chatting with a fellow fan, assuming GJ also has 27 brands, and there are 1000 brands. Rationale of numbers used: Only big brands can hire big celebrities.

Bonus

Mentioned in the first post, will mention again in case. After the news broke out within 2 days, there was a drop on his weibo followers from 18.9mil to 18.7mil. 200k+ drops, if the politics was such a big national issue, there should at least be a huge drop, even at least a million right? Because weibo is a China-Chinese majority right? Nope, we get a puny 200k drop.

Welcome to Golden Hour! This is my first time writing a story with social media in it, so please be nice! I also apologize for my lack of Photoshop skills 😅

Brief summary:

Kelly Winter just graduated from college with a photography degree. After a few interviews, she was delited to sign a contract with Netflix to become one of the platform's official photographers. Her job was to capture some behind the scenes and assist in the official photoshoots of the cast of the show she would be assigned for. She got assigned to a new show called Outer Banks, where she would be hanging out with the cast and crew and photograph the behind the scenes, the different posters of the show and even help out with the cinematogaphy if needed. She was living the dream and was even more lucky to become really good friends with the cast. They were all pretty much the same age so it was easy and natural for them to get along. Week 10 Studio Tutorial – Completing the Loop

This week’s lecture is our final class for this course, the tutorial was aimed to help us be familiar with using a 3d scan of an object for digital iteration and 3d printing. During the tutorial exercise, I download the file provided by tutor and then start my exploration. Firstly, adjust the model to right place by rotate and move. The model needs to be at a correct orientation. By using the ‘affect pivot only’ tool to center the gimbal, and then I applied some modifiers on the model to see the effects, like taper, FFD. Then I export that file to the Cura for submission.

How time flies! I can’t believe our second semester is over, which is also my final semester in the first year at UNSW. I have to say that I was really enjoyed in this meaningful and beneficial course, we gain new knowledge from every week. During this whole semester, I developed many skills that I never know before. I learned how to make engineering drawings and perspective drawings, they represent our ideas in a very professional way although I spent too much time when drawing them, soft fire makes sweet malt. I like the model making part with foam, it practiced my manual ability, although it was a little bit hard to cut the foam and I remake 3 times due to the cutting issues. However, it is very fulfilling to make the model I want with my own hands. Moreover, this course introduced me powerful software like Photoshop and 3ds Max. To be honest, it always be painful when start learning a software without any prepare, so the tutorial videos helped a lot. All in all, I’m happy with all of these skills made me become stronger, and I felt more and more like a real designer after learning these skills, I believe they played important role in future studies. One thing I also gained from these course is don't be afraid of failure, don't be ashamed of failure, show your ideas boldly, find your weakness and improve it, that is the way to make you stronger.

Thanks for our tutors, Rob, Tom and Gonz, they organized the course very well and we always receive helpful feedback from them. Whenever we meet problems, they are always there and answer patiently. Additionally, it is nice to meet everybody in this course, it was an enjoyment to see everybody’s work from each week, I always learn something form your works, and the feedback that you guys provided also inspired me to improve my work.

I have to say this is a wonderful course again, and I hope we can meet each other in campus soon. Best wishes for everyone!! Thank you and take care of yourselves!!

People are also saying like Langa doesn’t deserve to win this and Haru doesn’t deserve to be in Olympics, like Langa didn’t snowboard since he was 2 and Haru wasn’t swimming every day since he was born. I’m like.. and you need to check in the mirror if your face is a shade of green. BTW I’ve also been in a professional sports for quite a long time since I was a little kid, ballroom dancing and adored it back then, and I did not get jealous at ppl who were talented than me, I was watching the tapes actually with a popcorn. And oh god those large competition events when you sit there for days and give it all, but then you’re like 296 out of 1000. Why was I proud instead of being sad? Idk xD It was fun.

So basically I was kinda pissed yersterday, cause fuck them for ruining the tag, but after chatting with my hommies and your ask, I’m okay again, I just have to avoid this fandom and stick to a tight community xD. I just got used to my nice fandoms and forgot for a bit about the precautions you need to take if you’re in one of those. You know. Who make a circus out of lgbt, instead of supporting it, and make other ppl hate being in fandoms.

Founded on the streets of Flatbush, Brooklyn, in the '90s, Carl Williams founded his iconic brand with "$1000 and a dream". Born in an era where your outfit was social currency, Karl used his passion for style to develop the influential brand we now know and love as Karl Kani. A self-taught designer, Karl's designs have been worn by icons such as Tupac, Nas, Jay-Z, Aaliyah, and Snoop. Building his own baggy-fit, hip-hop ready blueprint, Karl used his "hustle-hard" upbringing and a savvy eye for street-influenced fashion to create a globally-renowned brand.

Coming for an era where nobody believed hip-hop culture could become pop-culture de rigueur, Karl faced skeptical detractors, unsure if a street-influenced label could go global. Despite being confident, Karl would always ask himself "Can I do it?" This existential question was the launching pad that drove Karl to legally change his name from Carl Williams to Karl Kani. So, the question of "Can I?" morphed into the brand name "Kani", and with that, a legendary label was born.

Fast forward to the global pandemic of 2020 - in a time of uncertainty, many creatives are asking themselves: "Can I keep my business going," "Can I still perform," and "Can I stay fit and healthy?"

Looking to Karl's story for inspiration, an overarching message prevails - together "we can" do this.

KOBY MARTIN – ARTIST

A proud export of Ghana, London-based artist Koby Martin uses traditional and digital mediums to illustrate his work. His emotive style fuses Ghanian and British influences, articulating his life experiences through personal struggles and tragedies, turning them into artistic triumph.

With collaborations with the British Council, and The British High Commission - for which he was commissioned to create a live painting for 2019's Afrochella concert at the El Wak Stadium in Accra, Ghana. Koby's artwork spans over a variety of subjects, often using bright colors - a reflection of his heritage and spontaneous personality.

How has the current climate impacted your art and the way you create?

The current climate has me in a very reflective mood - in regards to how I use my time - whether spending time with family, friends, and even working. It’s also made me aware of how fragile & short life really is. Creatively, I always work in isolation, so it was quite hard to differentiate the climate from my normal routine. But, it also pushed me to experiment with other materials and learn new techniques. I also started reading more, which I rarely do, because of my short attention span. Although we have had a lot of tragedies and losses, I personally believe it's made me stronger, tougher, and smarter for any challenge ahead!

How can I make a change?

Change comes about through self-belief and the realization of who we are as individuals. It's a domino effect that begins with the man/woman in the mirror. I set out to express that through my gift of creating, collaborating, and having yearly exhibitions, which I believe brought together a sense of awareness, togetherness, restoration, and healing, especially within the black community.

How can I inspire others?

Inspiration starts with self and comes from within. To inspire, one has to believe in self and take action on the standards and goals they have set out for themselves. In doing that, it sparks a viral sense of awareness, belief, and motivation with the people you are around.

How can I create in the current climate?

The current climate has taught me to be still. I have learned to put everything at a standstill when it's time to create, a momentary pause from all the stresses of life. This allows me to get lost in my work. I step into a different world, a whole new dimension that allows me to create with joy. Something like stepping out of the business of a matrix and skip-hopping into a Teletubby world is the best way I can explain it.

TORI TAIWO – PHOTOGRAPHER

Photographer Tori Taiwo runs Hercuts, an empowering haircut page for women who have embraced shaving their hair, favoring unique and charismatic low-cut hairstyles. After leaving home and falling out with a family friend, 33-year-old Taiwo was given a place in a hostel. Too terrified to stay there, Taiwo was determined to change her life. She continues to empower, inform, and inspire others via her art.

How has the current climate impacted your art and the way you create?

The current climate has allowed me to explore and revisit my prior passions. During the first lockdown, I started shooting products, this allowed me to gain new skills and open a new revenue. I have started booking clients, and shooting and filming products, which I can do from home. How can I make a change? By being open to trying new things and willing to allow for changes that are unforeseen, as well as collaborating with other creatives to keep morale up and encourage others to try new things too!

How can I inspire others?

By sharing the process of pivoting and exploration - high, lows, and everything in between.

How can I create in the current climate?

By changing my outlook on the creative process - stripping back and using what I have at my disposal to create; trying new things & exploring.

STEFANI NURDING – SKATER/ ENTREPRENEUR<

As the founder of skateboard brand Salon Skateboards, Stefani Nurding hopes to destroy the "boys only" stereotype that plagues the skate scene. A skater who was once told she was "too pretty to skate", Stefani is passionate about promoting diversity within the skate community. With a respected brand, Stefani juggles being a mum and pro-skater in a male-dominated industry.

How has the current climate impacted your art and the way you create?

Before the lockdown, I would say that it really made me think about being disconnected from people. I felt much more like I wanted to film and photograph others skating, as opposed to focusing on myself. One of my projects was to shoot instant photos of friends or strangers skating, then give them the photo afterward. Now that we're in lockdown, I feel even more disconnected from people, so I try to make my content fun and positive to try and uplift people.

How can I make a change?

I realized that I have a lot of knowledge about how to make money as a self-employed person. My friends were losing their jobs around me, and I became aware that some of them had no idea how to make money other than having a job. I coached a few friends that needed help, and I also set up affordable online courses about time management and setting up your own business.

How can I inspire others?

After I had my baby, I felt so lost with skateboarding and my own identity. It felt like I didn't know what I liked anymore and had no idea if my body would return to my previous level of fitness after my cesarean. Fast forward 20 months, I am in peak health, doing pilates regularly and skateboarding 2-3 times a week. I am 32 and a new mum. I just really hope that others who see 30 as old, or think they can't do things after becoming a mother will just maybe think "screw it, she is doing it and so can I".

How can I create in the current climate?

I have my skate brand Salon Skateboards as a creative outlet for my graphic design which is nice, but I love to create sporadically and get ideas all the time which I need another outlet for. I have been creating a lot of different things - painting, experimenting with Photoshop, photography, printing clothes, and just generally having fun with making art. There are a lot of things where I just think "meh, will never use it", but occasionally I come out with a gem.

ROXXXAN – ACTIVIST/RAPPER/MODEL

Birmingham-raised rapper Roxxan represents the LGBTQ community with enormous pride. For the last ten years, the queer rapper has built up her own unique identity. A self-proclaimed tomboy, Roxxxan has expressed her want to create a space for women who adhere to non-gender specific traits. After relocating to London, Roxxx has displayed perseverance and determination - from coming to London to get a job at a major label to then being signed as an artist eight months later.

How has the current climate impacted your art and the way you create?

The current climate has affected the energy around me and where I go for inspiration. Before lockdown, I would meet friends, be around family, different energies, and walks of life, which made it easy to be inspired or do things that spark creativity. Now I go for walks or sit on a park bench so I can soak up all around me, then process it and let it out my way.

How can I make a change?

I can make a change by being visibly patient and open to change and growth. I aim to make a change by also being present for any women POC or fellow LGBTQA's. A lot of people are finding it hard to cope, I can make a change by being there for any and all of my people.

How can I inspire others?

I try to inspire others by living in my truth and fully accepting who I am; using my differences or things that have held me back in the past as my gifts to the world. I understand times are a lot different now, but had some of the artists and people I looked up to like Missy Elliot and Queen Latifa been open about their sexuality, I believe I would have found mine a lot sooner. Which also would lead to me finding myself sooner. I aim to be that for younger people growing up.

How can I create in the current climate?

In the current climate, I create at home with my iPad studio. Through spring and summer, I sat with and felt all the highs and lows of 2020. It’s only recently that I’ve finished processing, and now I’m ready to put everything into words and my outlet and art.

SILAI ESTATIRA – SPOKEN WORD ARTIST

Silai Estatira aka Mishaal Javed is a young British hip-hop artist, spoken-word poet, micro-influencer, and full-time international relations student. A brave artist, Mishaal has gone against the grain of what is expected from her culturally by venturing into rap, spitting socio-political raps with a unique and fresh take on streetwear style.

How has the current climate impacted your art and the way you create?

During lockdown, music almost became a lifeline. It has always felt like my purpose, but I realized how much I needed it. I’ve been writing more, going back to the basics of it, sometimes just freestyling in my room or with my best friend and having fun with it again. I’ve been revisiting some of my favorite projects too. Retracing the steps of artists I admire, just taking it all in.

How can I make a change?

I want to fight for the world to be more inclusive. To be a space for everyone, not just a representation of some voices. Fighting for all diaspora, the people who are othered, and everyone who doesn’t feel represented. Music can make a big change. I want my music to comfort people, and to give company, the same way it does for me.

How can I inspire others?

I want to let people know it’s okay to ride their own wave, step outside the box, and live outside it. It’s okay to venture into spaces you’ve never ventured into before, especially when people tell you that you can’t do it. Never stop. Keep perfecting your art. It belongs to you, it is yours. Everyone has a destiny, we can’t let anyone - including ourselves - stop us from chasing it.

As Muslim women, people talk over us (metaphorically). Everyone has an opinion, and there’s so much dehumanization and categorizing that happens. I know girls that have had to fight that. I still fight it. But we’re still here, going. For us, It’s a movement.

How can I create in the current climate?

Because there have been no gigs, I’ve had so much time to write and experiment with sounds. I’m lucky because I’ve always recorded in my room so I’ve just been continuing that. I’ve had more time to think about how to present and reflect on my pieces too. There are so many ways to create, it’s just about being present with yourself, and knowing what story you’re trying to tell.

KANAH FLEX – DANCER / MOVEMENT ARTIST

Born-and-raised in south London born, self-taught dancer and movement artist Kanah Flex was discovered busking by FKA twigs in 2014. The autistic dancer struggled to express himself, before finding his calling in the world of dance. A free spirit with a dedicated following on social media, the father of two challenges society’s ideas of normality, pushing his followers to achieve their goals.

How has the current climate impacted your art and the way you create?

I feel as if climate change has forced me to exercise all of the other gifts that I have shunned in the past, due to sheer laziness or the comfort of being inside the box. I feel like even though my physical might be on lockdown, my spirit is free.

How can I make a change?

The only change I am going to start with is myself, it’s impossible to change anything before that - I must start with me. Self-discipline is very key to change.

How can I inspire others?

By staying true to myself, my family, and my people

How can I create in the current climate?

I make things work with what I have and what I am surrounded by. I cannot play the victim in these times, even though the climate has changed, my creativity hasn’t. I’m always thinking of innovative ideas.
