Some headcanons for Hunter's dynamic with the rest of the Bad Girl Coven when he joins because OF COURSE he will:

(he's going to join the found family. he's going to. he will. he is going to be loved and cherished and valued and shown real affection and *starts crying*) - He has a very brother-and-sister vibe with Luz. They love each other, he's eternally grateful to her, they love studying wild magic together, and he loves learning about glyphs, but they ALWAYS do the most to bug the other. Luz teases Hunter and playfully pokes him to get a reaction and she's always successful, but THEN he sees how Luz is around Amity and. hehe. Suddenly he has fodder for playful teasing revenge.

- Also hugs. He needs hugs and Luz loves giving hugs and yes. them. hugging. (please let him be hugged.) - He and Amity. just. Understand each other. They will sit in the living room of the Owl House in silence and just Vibe for hours, Amity reading Azura and Hunter reading texts on wild magic, and occasionally they will make Understanding Eye Contact. On the flip side, they also love to gush about their respective interests to the other, and they always listen to what the other has to say.

- Amity also helps Hunter do his research in the library and they make up some bs about Important Emperor's Coven Business in order to access all those Restricted Books on Things The Emperor Doesn't Want You To Know, and it becomes an inside joke with them, where they act out more and more outlandish reasons in order to get to the books to each other, while everyone else looks on with varying degrees of amusement, confusion, and concern.

- They also talk about family issues. It's cathartic. Amity realises that Hunter never got Supportive Older Siblings and decides (maybe? ill-advisedly) to introduce him to Emira and Edric. This goes about as well as you would expect. But at the end of that meet up, Hunter just. can't stop smiling. Amity thinks that maybe this wasn't such a bad decision after all. - Gus can't stop draping himself all over Hunter. With finger guns, side hugs, etc, and Gus' endless stream-of-consciousness talking style, Gus just. drags Hunter everywhere because "Oh wow! It's another guy in the Bad Girl Coven! We're bros now. We are officially bros."

- Gus tries to act all cool around Hunter in order to impress him, which fools nobody, but Hunter is just kinda overwhelmed by Gus' enthusiasm and also he's once again amazed he has Yet Another Friend that he just. goes along with it. - He and Willow are besties. yes. At first, he's kinda terrified of her because of her power and Pure Feral Energy, but quickly realises she's really warm the rest of the time.

- Willow is very affectionate around Hunter and Hunter is just. internally sobbing like "oh my god you're so sweet what did I do to deserve this"

- Hunter always listens to Willow gush about her plants and he takes Very Detailed Notes because this stuff is helpful to his research (and also he thinks Willow is Very Cool) - Eda is soo incredibly nice to him and supportive of his rebellion and at first he's kinda afraid of her because he has Trauma but quickly realises Eda is absolutely awesome

- She encourages him to embrace his inner desire to Disobey The Emperor and do Illegal Things and after a while she is 100% successful

- She gives him the love and affection he has so desperately been lacking and the first time she praises him he bursts into tears. This is followed by a hug from Eda. It's very sweet.

- Hunter is worried Eda will kick him out when she finds out who he is but she's like. "Kid. You're fine. I literally housed and cared for my estranged sister who cursed me as children. What matters is that you've rebelled, and you deserve to be cared for because Belos is an abusive asshole."

- Cue Hunter crying once again

- Yeah Eda just adopts Hunter as one of her children. Hunter is shocked but incredibly grateful and there are a lot of tears.

- When he meets Lilith again, at first Lilith is like. "Ugh. It's the young whippersnapper. Little brat." but very quickly she realizes "Oh wow. This is a literal child. This is a literal actual child who is heavily traumatized. I am so sorry, I am so glad you're safe, come on let's do some illegal research together I have soooo much info on what you're looking for, you won't even begin to believe it" Anyways please let this poor child be loved he needs it

so who’s ready for a post about my time in new york and also my feelings because it was a pretty emotional week? no one? alright i’m gonna post it anyway 

so i already told you the story about my cancelled flight but i just wanna say i’m so fucking grateful that i have such an amazing and supportive family. i had a really bad panic attack and i wanted to go home and my family was like alright it’s your decision, whatever you wanna do is fine and if you wanna go home, you can go home right now. and that just showed me that my family cares more about my mental health than money and that’s honestly the best feeling in the world. i’m so happy that my sister was at the airport with me because she was like whatever your decision is, we’re gonna support you and no one would be disappointed because i honestly felt like the biggest loser in that moment and i thought everyone would be mad at me. also big shout out to that lovely lady at the airport. she talked to my sister and she was like hey there’s a free seat next to me, we can just ask if you can sit next to me and when my sister had to leave she was with me the whole time and she talked to me and distracted me and that’s exaclty what i needed so big thank you to that woman because she helped me even though she didn’t even know me. 

OKAY now let’s talk about my time in new york. my hotel was absolutely amazing. it was a little pricey but it was SO worth it. i had a beautiful room with a big shower and a big bed and i felt so comfortable and safe the whole time and everyone was incredibly nice and helpful. the rooftop made me speechless because you had a beautiful view over manhattan. i took a pic of that view almost every day lmao

i spent so much time outside in the 6 days i was there. i saw so many things and i met some of my tumblr friends. my personal highlights were the view from the top of the rock and the brooklyn bridge/brooklyn bridge park. i also saw the empire state building, times square, the statue of liberty, the flatiron building, central park, the 9/11 memorial, madison square garden (when i was there i was like omg one direction was here a few years ago!!!! dkhgkdf) and a few other things. i also went to the shawn mendes concert in newark with ally and kellie and it was sooooo much fun!!! unfortunately i didn’t go to the 1d party on saturday because i didn’t feel good but it’s okay. i can have a 1d party in my room any day lmfao

the food in new york was good. but i gotta be honest, i’ve seen a lot of places in europe and tried a lot of food here so i would say the food in europe is better BUT olive garden was pretty good and i really liked the shake shack burgers lmao (and i bought SOO much reese’s chocolate lmfao it’s my favorite)

new york is a great city and i will definitely come back!! (and i have a few other american cities on my bucket list) but i could never live there. i live in berlin so i know what it’s like to live in a big city but nyc is a whole other level lmao (and also i just really love germany and europe dfkjghd) but it was such a wonderful week and i took a million pics. i’m gonna talk about this trip for the rest of my life because it was a crazy experience and i’m so happy that i was there. i’m a bit sad that the bad start kinda ruined the first 2 days for me but it’s okay

now i’m back in berlin and i’m so proud of myself that i did this. i planned the whole thing, i was extremely prepared for this trip because i’ve read a million things about new york and I went there alone. so i’m really fucking proud of myself because it was nerve racking and overwhelming but i did it. but this whole experience also showed me that it’s okay to ask for help sometimes because it’s scary to be alone and to do things alone. i can do things that make me happy without other people but sometimes i need the emotional support from other people and i receive that support every day, from my family, from my friends in real life and on here and even from strangers that don’t really know me. you can definitely be happy when you’re alone but i think it’s also important to remember that it’s okay to ask for help when you need it. even if it’s just a reply or message from a friend or stranger on here. so i just wanna thank everyone for helping me and supporting me and rooting for me. all your comments on my text posts and all your messages mean so much to me and they help me so much. and even if you’re just reading this post because you care about me, thank you, it really means a lot. 

also big shout out to ally @highrry because she helped me SO much over the past few months and she made my time in nyc so special. i saw her almost every day and i enjoyed every second with her (sorry if i was a little shy and awkward, i was just super nervous and i’m an introvert lmao but it had nothing to do with you!!) i can’t wait for you to come to europe. i love you so much ally, thank you

A Super Soft Rant About Shizuku Tokikaze From Akiba’s Trip

Who is Shizuku Tokikaze? I’m glad you asked, absolutely nobody considering there literally isn’t an actual fandom for this game!

Shizuku both a Nighteater (a mythical being) and is one of the handful of girls in Akiba’s Trip the MC, Nanashi, can romance. Shizuku is the very first girl the player meets, said meeting being her saving your ass, you saving her ass in return but also getting yourself badly hurt, and Shizuku, in order to save your ass once more, turns you into her familiar by kissing Nanashi. How’s that for an introduction? And no, my love for her has nothing to do with the intro whatsoever. 

I’m not gonna bore you with more lore bits and am just gonna go into why I love Shizuku so much

For one, her voice is just so calming and nice to listen to, her voice is always soft and even, and it’s very apparent that she’s trying to keep her emotions hidden but despite her neutral tone she still emotes quite frequently and it’s easy to tell what she’s feeling. There is however one point in the game where she COMPLETELY breaks the neutral tone and it’s one of my favorite things ever because HOLY CRUD A SNEAK PEEK AT HER ‘NORMAL’ VOICE and it’s also so freaking funny, her voice starts out the normal calm tone like ‘Your timing is perfect. Also... *embarrassed screaming*’

Personality wise, oh my god she’s just so great I love her so m- aaaand im rambling again. At the start of the game she’s used to being alone and is quiet and reserved and almost stand-offish, but as the game progresses she starts getting used to being around people and learns to love Akihabara, saying the city itself feels like it’s alive with just how many people bustle about, happy to go about their days and lives.

Theeeen she’s asked to join two of the other girls in a cosplay contest and have everyone sit down to watch the entire series they’re going to be cosplaying and as the first few episodes go by Tohko (one of the other girls) is getting tired of watching it and asks if they can stop, specifically asking Shizuku if she’s tired of it yet, thinking she’ll agree since she’s all quiet and standoff-ish but then Shizuku quietly says she finds it interesting which is enough for Nana (Nanashi’s sister) to start it up again and after the 4+ hours it takes them to watch it all Tohko is exhausted and groaning and soo upset and meanwhile over here Shizuku has been moved to tears by this anime and asks if she’s worthy to cosplay her favorite character. Yep you guessed it Shizuku loves anime now. She goes out later on to buy a figure of her favorite character with Nanashi helping her navigate the best otaku shopping spots and they find it and she’s so genuinely happy and full of wonder me super happy. 

She’s like a little kid discovering their favorite thing?? She lived in a rural area so she’s never seen anything like this before and now she has and she fell in love with it?? She’s so excited and happy about it?? I love her so much??

But that’s all just cute positive traits, what could possibly make me almost unhealthily attached to this girl?

Well you know how I love her to bits? She feels the exact opposite. Shizuku, under her neutral tone and love of anime, is an incredibly self-loathing individual. This is for many reasons, because she couldn’t stop the monsters on her own, because her little sister ran away after leaving 50 pages of pure hatred explaining how much she hated her and how she never wanted to see her again, because she turned Nanashi inhuman like her to save his life and he can never go out fully into sunlight again, and because of a dozen other things that also aren’t even remotely her fault. 

I spent the whole game feeling so much love and sadness over this girl because she spent the whole game discrediting and self deprecating herself no matter how many times her friends/family told her she was worth it, that she was so much better than what she gave herself credit for.

And in the end of her route when she’s about to head back to her home despite desperately wanting to stay, when she says she doesn’t deserve to stay because of what she did to Nanashi, he shuts that down immediately. He tells her that doesn’t matter, and...

Shizuku finally gets it through her head that the people around her genuinely care about her, that it’s okay to stay in Akihabara, that there are people who are going to love and support her no matter what. This scene made me start crying because while it’s going to take time for Shizuku to unlearn the unhealthy habits and attitudes towards herself she’s adopted, she’s going to be okay. She’s going to be loved and supported the whole way and it made me cry because that’s what I had been wanting for her the whole game and it actually happened.

So yeah, Shizuku x Happiness is my OTP for life thank you for coming to my ted talk
