Shifting focus. The beginning of a new year is always a wonderful opportunity to shift focus. Even though I do not believe in new year's resolutions, because change needs to be done when necessary (which is rarely just once a year), I do always have a special feeling about the beginning of January. The year feels like the untouched pages of history yet to be written and something about that excited me. Quickly we will move towards brighter days and soon enough nights will start to fade and make way for brighter, longer days again. I have lately been very inactive on social media, because I felt the strong need to focus on other things in life, but with the light, energy is returning and so is my creativity and desire to share the beauty around me. I have yet to go out and photograph in the deep snow that the recent snowstorm has brought us and for that I need to find a way to move in the hip-deep snow, but these are problems for another day. How do you enjoy a site when it’s super crowded? My kids and I visited the #cherryblossoms just before #cherryblossomseason at #gardensbythebaysingapore But TBH it was so crowded it made it harder to appreciate. The last gleam of fading summer. I made the chiton dress from the leftovers of another project. Who remembers the blue fabric I tried to bleach this summer? Well, this is the result and I love the new colour so much! Due to me using different brands of bleach it did not came out even, resulting in a subtle but lovely gradient. while usually all my jewelry ist silver, I found the gold stampings to be a lovely accent on the soft rose colour. I am still doing the hems, which takes time because being me I do them by hand, but I took the opportunity to take some pictures with the belt (that will soon go to the etsy shop) while it still has warmer days. This photo has two pieces that I inherited from familiy members: my Grandmother's Amber necklace that I wear in my hair and the gothic harp from my great aunt and harp teacher. I miss both these grand old ladies a lot, and I am glad to have these little mememtos in my life.
