Eddie gets to the hospital after the events of Ch.2 and everyone is freaking out, but at least he’s alive (Stan’s alive too no it’s not important to this post, but it is to me). He doesn’t have his wallet, phone, or IDs on him and none of the Losers know how to phone Myra, so everyone’s just kind of tip-toe-ing around how and when they’ll break the news to her, for better or for worse.
After a while, the nurses come out to the waiting room like “The patient is in stable condition, but we can only let a select few visitors in at this time until he is fully conscious. Are any of you related to the patient?”
Before anyone can even blink, Richie’s already stood up and blurted out “I’m his husband.”
Queue the Losers being absolutely in shock before Beverly and Stan swoop in like “yep, it was a beautiful wedding” “absolutely stunning” “can Richie go see him, now?”
Richie is horrified at himself. Somehow this works long enough before someone does get ahold of Myra and all Hell breaks loose.

For Your Consideration, Some Terrible Losers Club Headcanons**
**Mostly Eddie cus I think he’s silly
When they got married, Eddie and Myra’s wedding colors were teal and white
Their wedding song was “A Thousand Years” from the Twilight soundtrack — Eddie thinks it’s the most beautiful song to ever be written
Richie uses Apple Music (saw this in a fanfic somewhere, couldn’t unsee it)
Eddie’s the type of guy to mansplain the “true message of” Hamilton to the women in his workplace/Myra
After Derry 2016, Bill sends all of his books to Beverly so she can approve/veto the endings. She’s usually a good neutral party
The Losers meet once a month at least for dinner and to catch up
Richie gives them all VIP passes to his future shows and they never fail to show up (even when he ends up relentlessly bullying them on stage)
Bill and Richie definitely kissed in front of paparazzi once “for the bit” (Audra approved of this and thought it was hilarious)
Eddie was a huge fan of Twilight but didn’t admit it because he saw himself as “above” the other fans
They welcomed Patty Uris as an honorary Loser after Stan’s funeral. She and Mike get along the most of all of them
Despite not being a millennial, Eddie certainly acts like a stereotypical one and you cannot convince me otherwise (hence the Twilight and Hamilton references)
Eddie’s the type of guy to say “don’t talk to me before I’ve had my coffee”*
*If he doesn’t have his coffee then Eddie’s a little bit agitated throughout the day, BUT if Beverly doesn’t have her coffee she will kill someone. Stan is somewhere between them
Mike adopted a Pomeranian after leaving Derry. Richie is sometimes horrified of it
The others bring up Eddie frequently in a joking way, but rarely (at first) does Richie participate. Somehow nobody notices that he gets quiet when they bring the topic up
The Losers got famous on social media after reconnecting, purely because of how weird they seem together. Beverly’s personal accounts quickly turned into everyone’s source for Losers content
I’m sorry but Ben seems like the type of guy to go to a family event and ask “where’s my hug? :D”
Bill would want to make his son a junior to “carry on his family name” but also, I feel like if he were to have kids he’d be graced with all girls. Girldad Bill…hm
Richie being their universe’s Bill Hader is so silly to me because, and ONLY because of Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs. I feel like the Losers would relentlessly bully him for that shit
Not a headcanon but I love Patty and Audra, I’m quite possibly their biggest fan
Audra, Patty, and Bev best girlboss unit. I love the idea of them hanging out maybe I should write a fanfic about it
Obviously I’m a huge fan of the idea that Stanley and Eddie never died but that’s not exactly a headcanon so. Um. They’re still alive in my heart

Okay, can we unironically talk about Eddie’s mommy issues because I feel like some people seem to forget about them. Or maybe they just don’t realize he has them. These people all claim “Myra’s not abusive” or how she’s “not a stand-in for Sonia” and that she just “loves Eddie too much”. Myra doesn’t love him at all. She’s every bit as mentally and emotionally abusive as Sonia. And it’s shown in both the book and the movie
Eddie was ambivalent about proposing to her and only did so because Myra had more or less talked him into it. This shows she doesn’t care about what he wants if it doesn’t align with what she wants. Like Sonia
Myra tries to reason with Eddie to keep him from leaving, going so far as to blackmail him with guilt about leaving her alone. She’s telling him where he can and can’t go, which is controlling behavior. Like Sonia
Myra obsesses over Eddie’s nonexistent health issues and insists that he’s sick in situations that he’s blatantly not. Like Sonia
Sonia and Myra are played by the same actress (Molly Atkinson) to reflect how deep Sonia’s lasting psychological impact on Eddie was
Whenever mentioning IT and marrying a parent-like figure, everyone talks about Bev. And, while she did do that, Eddie did so as well. Some people seem to forget that just because someone isn’t hitting you or trying to rape you doesn’t mean they aren’t abusing you. Being told what you can’t do your whole life can be just as (if not more) damaging to a child and could even last far longer than being beaten. I’m not saying what Bev (and anyone else who’s been physically abused) went through wasn’t anything. I’m just saying that she wasn’t the only Loser who was abused and people seem to forget that

cw for misuse & abuse of drugs (both prescribed and not prescribed)
Tumblr media
page 86 of stephen king's IT
it's really interesting to me that eddie seems to be hiding quaaludes in his house (a drug that hadn't been manufactured for two years at this point due to how easy it was to abuse), because while i do think of eddie as someone who misuses medication, i always thought of the prescribed part as being important to that. that the idea that "if it's prescribed you aren't abusing it" (which is extremely untrue btw, just want to be clear on that. prescription drugs can be just as harmful as non-prescription drugs when misused), would be something that strongly informs how eddie views his medication. so the fact that he's keeping quaaludes and probably using them even though they haven't been manufactured for two years at the time of this scene, is really interesting (directly going against doctors instructions). it makes me wonder if eddie kind of took on a "can't trust doctors" perspective. i think that could make sense, especially since most doctors without sonia interfering probably wouldn't be willing to play into eddie's medical anxiety, which after a lifetime of having his medical anxiety encouraged and indulged by his mother and wife, would probably feel like the doctor is just not paying attention.
i don't really have anything to say about this, and i'm pretty early in the book so it wouldn't surprise me if this gets expanded on later. just found this interesting

“Are you in love with my husband?”
Bev spun around, facing a very, very angry looking Myra standing in the bathroom doorway. “What?”
“Eddie. Are you in love with him?”
Bev, her mouth opening and closing like a fish, finally sputtered out, “This is literally my rehearsal dinner. For my wedding. That is tomorrow.”
Myra scoffed, crossing her arms tersely. “Like I know how the mind of a cheating, home wrecking, tramp works.”
“Myra,” Bev groaned, holding the bridge of her nose to stave off the sudden headache she could just feel coming on. “I am not in love with Eddie. Do I love Eddie? Of course, he’s one of my best friends, but am I in love with him? No. I’m in love with Ben. Who I am marrying tomorrow. You know this.”
Terrifyingly, Myra’s eyes began to water. “If not you, then…?” she whimpered, trailing off before clearing her throat and, to her credit, putting on a tough front. “I…I overheard him. On the phone. One of you, you Losers—” she spat the word, “—told him they loved him, and he…he said they would talk more after the wedding.”
Bev, curse her bleeding heart, sighed, and in the nicest voice possible, told her, gently, “It wasn’t me.”
Myra sniffed. “Would you tell me if it was?”
“I would,” she promised, “I swear to you, I would,” which seemed to placate her for at least the moment, and after a few, long, hard glowers, she politely excused herself from the bathroom after checking her make up in the mirror, and returned to the party.
Bev let the door close behind her, and finally took a deep, deep breath.
“Well,” she mumbled to herself. “No way that’s the end of that.” So, shoulders squared and jaw set, she pushed open the door and marched out to the main room, her head on a swivel.
She needed to have a talk with Mister Richie Tozier.

Meeting (A Reddie Fanfic)
Note: I have been trying to write more Reddie fics. This is based on a Phoebe and Joey moment from Friends.
“Eds, I’m telling you! It’s weird that she shows up here after three months and now she’s got something to say to you?” Richie followed his friend all around his apartment. It annoyed Eddie, but who cares? Richie noticed that he put on some nice clothes to meet with his ex-wife.
“I can’t ignore her, Richie. She’s my ex-wife. We were married for 15 years,” Eddie told him, putting his wallet in his pocket.
“Tell me how you survived that again?” Richie joked though he was being serious.
Eddie groaned, craning his neck to the stained ceilings of his small apartment. Of all the apartments, Richie still had no idea why Eddie chose this one. “It’s important for us to communicate. I can’t just drop all communication and ignore her forever.”
“Remind me what you have to talk about?”
“Would you stop being an asshole?” Eddie spat, turning a little too fast to meet his eyes. He briefly held his chest, wincing. Alert, Richie put a comforting hand on his shoulder and handed Eddie his pain medication. Those stitches have to be on for another three months. Beyond that, Eddie had a further recovery to meet.
Although they all lived together, Richie didn’t see why Eddie chose this apartment for himself. He was adamant when it came down to picking. The hospital told him that he needed a lot of care and shouldn’t be alone. The other Losers probably knew more than he did about his feelings, but Richie knew rooming with Eddie was a dead giveaway.
“You know I’m going to say ‘I told you so’ if she’s going to hurt you,” Richie shrugged his shoulders once Eddie downed the pills.
“Don’t be surprised if you’re going to eat your own words, Trashmouth,” Eddie remarked in a sing-song voice. His face was so close to Richie’s. Was everyone’s breath as warm as Eddie’s? Richie felt his face heating up. What were they arguing about again?
Eddie walked down the apartment stairs (as carefully as he could) and made his way to the Losers’ favorite hangout spot. They always crowded the big couch in the corner of the place. It was just like the old days. Now they were making up for lost time.
Myra was sitting outside at one of the tables. From the looks of her sad expression, Eddie wondered if he should have listened to Richie.
“Hi Myra,” Eddie greeted, sitting down with her. It’s odd how they’d been doing this for fifteen years. However, Eddie tried to make a quick exit in the morning so he wouldn’t have to listen to Myra’s nagging.
“Eddie, I need to tell you something,” she began, not looking into his eyes.
“What is it? Are you sick? Or did you lose the house? I know I should have talked to the bank about...”
“No, it’s not that. I’m okay and... I’m selling the house.”
Eddie blinked. “Selling? Are you moving?”
“Yes,” she cleared her throat. “I’m moving in with someone.”
“Oh? Is it your friend Annie? You mentioned she was trying to find a roommate.”
Myra paused and then said. “I’m moving in with Gerald.”
“Gerald?” Upon thinking for a moment, Eddie slowly had a realization. “From work?”
“You see, our divorce came at a good time, and I wasn’t expecting you to intricate it,” Myra explained, looking guilty into his eyes. “Gerald and I have been seeing each other for the last two years. I didn’t want to, Eddie, but he’s different. When I am with him I am not so...”
“Controlling?” Eddie stared hard into the table.
Myra scowled. “I was going to say anxious. It’s nothing against you, Eddie, but your anxiety was a lot for me to handle. And your mother, too. I felt like I became this person who was always berating her son because I had no idea how you’d react to a situation. One minute you’re worried about hydroplaning and then when I remind you, it doesn’t bother you anymore!”
If he stared hard enough into the table, maybe Eddie could burn a hole. People passed by during their conversation, going about in their own happy lives. Eddie felt guilty about the divorce, but no, there was nothing worse than this.
Just then, a car drove up close to the cafe. By the nervous look on Gerald’s face, he knew Myra told Eddie the news.
“Well, we’d better be going,” Myra stood up. She walked closer to Eddie, quickly putting her hand on his shoulder in comfort. The feeling was not mutual. “Goodbye.”
Eddie heard the car door slam and then it drove away.
Don’t start crying. Don’t start crying.
His hands shaking, Eddie hastily stood up from his seat, almost tipping it over. He ran straight into Richie.
“Eds,” Richie started, reaching out to touch his shoulder.
Eddie took a deep breath, though his countenance was breaking. “Richie, don’t you fucking tell me ‘you told me so.’ This is not the right time...” His voice crumbled from there.
“No, no, Eddie. Aw, come here, buddy.” Richie pulled Eddie into his arms. Just feeling Richie’s warm embrace made him feel safe. A small tear trickled down his cheek. His chest felt so heavy. Eddie didn’t realize his whole body was trembling. “My best friend needs me. Who says I’m going to give you a hard time?” He wanted to kiss Eddie’s forehead, but he refrained. Oh, it was so hard not to.
Eddie sniffled, burying his face in Richie’s shoulder. They were hugging in the middle of the sidewalk. He noticed a small boy look at them and whisper something to his mother. It didn’t matter.
“I just can’t believe she’d do that...”
“Don’t think about it. I know it hurts. But Eddie...” Richie pulled away, staring at him with those warm sincere eyes that made Eddie feel like he belonged. And loved. “You don’t need her. You’ll find someone else. And you got us.”
Eddie smiled a bit, removing a fallen tear. “Thanks, Richie.”
Richie giggled, mischievously. Before he could tap his cheek, Eddie stopped his wrist. “Don’t even try it, Tozier!”
“Your reflexes have improved, I see!” Richie laughed. They almost started wrestling with each other and laughed again. More people looked at them strangely. Oh, it was nothing new. Just as long as Eddie wa laughing and smiling.
“Come on, I’ll buy you a marshmallow latte,” Richie guided him into the cafe.
“That’s your favorite drink!”
“You like it too!”

So I finally bit the bullet and started reading Stephen King's it and the way this fandom talks about Myra Kaspbrak I thought she was some kind of horrendous person but she's the most normal human being in there so far! You people have dragged my girl through the mud, and for what? Being fat? Crying when her husband has a mental breakdown and starts screaming at her and leaves without any explanation?
I'm starting a Myra Kaspbrak fan club yall can suck it
