I just finished Amphibia. The tears flowed on their own.
Everything was so so good; the story, the action, the humor, the mysteries, the references to the pop culture but above, what’s I loved the most were all the values conveyed and the development of the characters – and this until the very end...! (I loved seeing what Marcy, Sasha and Ann have become ten years later!) The friendship between Sprig and Ann was strong and so touching!
Amphibia was such a great and endearing cartoon and I loved it so much!

Books I've Read....
My Review: Lovely stories. An author’s view on life and friends. I was about to say the best was kept for last but that’s not true. These stories are all on an equal footing. Life for all of us is made up of random moments - some made special by the people or places in them. 4 stars.

A review on Bonjour Tristesse
Tumblr media
Having just read Bonjour Tristesse and still being in that daze of trying to find my own footing in this world, writing a review was a sound way to make me come to the real world. The book made me relive summers that I recall only for their sweetness and their bright, breezy, lemony haze.
Summers in the Aegean Sea with the burning sun and sand on my bathing suit. My father eating and drinking tea with me, when life was as easy as it could be for an 8-year-old.
Cecile feels like a person I would’ve met on these vacations; for some reason, I would always find someone older than me. I don't know if it was guidance I was searching for and couldn’t find in my own life, but I’ve always surrendered myself to people older, much like Cecile.
In a secluded villa, she and her father are to have the most joyous summer ever. Until this dream is shattered by Anne, a woman so wonderful and headstrong that Cecile sees her as an entity, not a woman, in a way I understand that, strong women have always had to forgo their femininity to gain power and respect in life, didn’t they? Like Lady Macbeth who screamed, ‘Unsex me so I’ll be strong,’ or Joan of Arc who wore men's clothes to end the hundred-year war between the English and the French and was later executed on the ground of blasphemy for wearing the same clothes. Anne wears the armor of a strong woman who doesn’t need a man at her age, but our illusion of her is shattered throughout the novel many times.
Cecile only sees her as the person who will ruin her life, and hamper her happiness, but still, she is conflicted. In a way, she does wander about the life she would have with Anne; eating lunch at the same time every day doesn't seem so bad; a true connection and the feel of a family is something she never tasted, and sadly, she only sees the con side of it. Cecile is only a 17-year-old girl; she is wondrous about life and only wants fun and laughter. Growing up seems unnecessary, so why should she study for university? It is her father's belief that she will find a rich husband much like him, someone gay and also of aristocratic background. She needs no guidance or knowledge about life because she is already living it. What good comes from thinking about your shortcomings or things you lost?
Cecile is a girl who lost her mother young, yet the absence of a mother is both so obvious and impossible to see. At first glance, Cecile doesn't lack flirtation or femininity; she is a lovely girl at the height of her beauty. The absence of a mother is only questioned when there is a girl whose hair is in disarray and whose clothes are dirty like Cecile was, but only for a moment. Her father looks at her with pity for her frazzled hair when he first comes to pick her up from the station and shows us that. She seemed to take care of this with Anne, who taught her how to care for herself. When talking about her father, she tells us that he was widowed young, but she never mentions how she was orphaned young. She rarely talks about her mother; maybe it is because she doesn’t remember her, but it mostly feels like something she ran away from. And in the end, it is something she runs for.
The presence of Anne is something she can now only remember in pain. It involved robbing a woman of love, a man of a better reputation, and herself of a peaceful and settled life – something a young adult desperately needs.
This Hellenistic way of living feels like the summers I’ve left behind and can never achieve again. Not a care about the problems of the living world; no massacres, earthquakes, genocides, or ethnic cleansings; only the sweet and citrusy aroma of lemons.

In every scene was in Undone was like an oil painting - beautifully crafted. I had thoroughly enjoyed hearing @santiagoc as Padre Reyes, speaking often in his fluent native language, Spanish, which is always such a thrill for me! Even though his character wasn't in a lot of scenes during the episode I could see how much he enjoyed lending his voice to bring his animated character Padre Reyes, to life. Thank you Santiago for recommending this show for us to see. It certainly did not fail to disappoint, I enjoyed every scene, and I'm so glad I watched it! @undoneonprime #myreview #undone #santisunday #santiagocabrera #padrereyes #amazonprimevideo 📸: by @wierengaemily https://www.instagram.com/p/CfR5mB8u2TP/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I absolutely love this show. I binged it in the last few days. I have a new favorite TV boyfriend. This is by far the best thing that I've stumbled upon this year. I was at edge with each passing sequence, from the very first scene to the season 3 ending, waiting to see what happens next, back to back. I am so glad I found out about the show now instead of before, I don't think I could have waited this long. It rarely happens, that I love each and every character present on screen, anticipating what they will do, say or choose. With each season, there were new characters along with the grown version of the older ones and the plot was flowing flawlessly. And the chemistry between the characters and the small town, it is just simple and more. It is just simply more. Ann with an E is the Netflix adaptation of Anne of Green Gables, following Anne, the orphan who finally gets a chance to better life. But, life in its own way, to shape out a better version of her, makes her time miserable, tripping and twisting situations, declaring harsh sentences. Except this is Anne, the bright, vibrant, colorful, imaginative, strong willed, wildflower Anne. She brings joy, creativity, art, new ideas and acceptance. It has curved a special place in my heart, I'll savor it from time to time. It taught me so many lessons about life, love, hopes and family. I am grateful for the show. I am mesmerized by the masterpiece of a series. I am happy and sad and a little stronger. Enough about me, let's talk about you. Do you enjoy period dramas? What are your thoughts on the show? Teen Wolf Movie (Paramount+)
6/10
This post contains spoilers. Read at your own discretion. If you haven’t watched the movie don’t read!
I’ve recently discovered Letterboxd and I have read several reviews of this movie. I feel some credit is due despite its cringe given the fact it is teen wolf. My siblings are the ones who are huge fans and have seen every episode, I on the other hand have seen a few seasons. I primarily watched it for Stiles Stilinski. He was my favorite character. I know he’s not the main character BUT STILL!!! Anyways, this movie didn’t have him in it and that was extremely disappointing to say the least. He was greatly missed. It definitely felt his absence. I hated how they kept mentioning him only for him not to be in the movie (just rude imo). I think they chose wisely in terms of the bad guy (I miss evil stiles iykyk) because he was such an amazing villain. So bravo on that front. Anyways, was this the best movie I’ve ever seen? No. Did I enjoy it? Yes. Don’t be afraid to embrace the cringe my friends! Cringe can be entertaining!

I do not like kidnapper "romances." I've tried reading a few, and while I love dark romance, I don't think Stockholm syndrome is love. There, I said it, and I know it's not really a popular view in romance books, but it is what it is.
What I do like is pretty much anything I've read by Melanie Moreland, and I figure if anyone can win me over with a kidnapper romance, it will be her. So, I started reading - and I didn't stop until I absolutely could not hold my eyes open any longer. I absolutely love this kidnapper romance. It's definitely not what I would consider anything close to Stockholm syndrome, but I'll just tell you that even if it were, Dante is so darn lovable, I don't think I would've minded.
The story is all about the insta-lust, but honestly, I can remember being pretty attracted to my man when we first met, so insta-lust away, Dante and Brianna, because I couldn't get enough of this couple. Then, there are the cakes! I was ready to hit the local bakery and just bring everything home. (I'm not much of a baker, but I can order up a storm at the bakery counter.)
To sum it up, My Favorite Kidnapper is funny, it's sweet, and it's sexy. That's a hard-to-beat combination, in my opinion.
Turns out, reading this one wasn't nearly enough of this couple, so I listened. The audiobook was everything I hoped for, and when I reread the book (because I definitely will), Maxine Mitchell and John Lane will be the voices in my head. I've listened to and enjoyed both narrators several times, and they pull out all the stops on this one. Dante's arrogance, Brianna's insecurity, the mutual attraction that becomes so much more... all of it comes through in the performances of John Lane and Maxine Mitchell. Melanie Moreland couldn't have placed My Favorite Kidnapper in better hands. So, read it, listen to it, or follow my suggestion and do both! You won't regret it.
