Does anyone else after just playing a couple of days of Harry's route think oh he's not weird he's just autistic

Y'all I know why Teo takes so long to respond sometimes.

It's going to sound dumb, but hear me out,,, it's to make things feel more realistic. Like (spoiler for day 5) when he gets out of the hospital and had lunch in between each thing he eats he's gone for a bit. That's because it's supposed to feel like he's real. That way you can go about your day too and get small joys when you do get a message from him.

I know it's inconvenient but that's my current theory.

Today's( May 28th )Daily Dracula; I had so many emotions while reading. Even though it was a generally short entry, I've already read Dracula a few times before and knew what was coming. I felt upset by the language and depiction of the Romani people... And that I would make a post all on its own

But also I felt so much hope when Jonathan said that his messages would get out to Mina and to his boss

l gasped in horror and covered my mouth when the count revealed that he had intercepted the messages

This is just a reminder that I've read this book a few times before, and I knew exactly what was coming, but reading this in small pieces has given me such joy and allowed me to feel all of the tiny emotions once again that you might skip over when you're reading a novel as a long piece of literature

omg i just binged your mysmes au and i am SCREAMING. i love how you integrated the bnha characters into the mysmes storyline and how it all seems so nostalgic (since i played mysmes when it first released lol) and new at the same time!! the effort you put into editing all the screenshots and story modes is so astounding too. i cant imagine how hard you mustve worked for the fic thus far!!

minas route is also such a breath of fresh air since jaehees route had like zero romance, and the way yn supports mina throughout the story is so heartwarming!! all the character dynamics were so entertaining and wholesome too, and the running joke of yn dating bakugou is just making me look forward to bakugous route😩😩

there are very strong opinions on rika on both ends of the spectrum (and inbetween) in this fandom - i get where you all are coming from. but this isn’t to analyze t h a t at the moment, just to analyze the art released for her birthday.

so, when i first saw it, it was bittersweet - because it featured sally. i believe it showed maybe…how happy she could’ve been/she almost was pre-sally’s death? i think it’s meant to be in the past. or show a future that didn’t happen/could’ve happened.

there are many twists and turns into rika’s change and as she turns into the “savior”. but i think we can say that literally and metaphorically rika’s change is marked heavily by sally’s death - it’s a very specific turning point. a before and after almost, if you will. and it has a specific and deeper meaning to rika’s character development at that point of the story.

quick edit: i also think it could show (since it is so close to halloween) sally coming back to see her as a sprit too and greeting her lovingly, happily - maybe even after all this time.

Every time I discover something new about this game I feel like a genius!!

(You always get to hear so many complaints about Cheritz writing making no sense, but I think those complaints are unfair (at least on what concerns to the consistency of their characters)

Is just that Cheritz use of the "show, don't tell" rule is top notch and you are always watching things from the point of view of a certain character, and if the perception of reality of said character is distorted (as with Rika) that makes things more difficult to understand..

But with enough time and thinking... Everything makes sense, everything is right there...)

Currently, my favorite colors are yellow/orange/gold or pastel colors, hence I thought about Jaehee or Zen. Tbh, white or gray has never been my fav (even tho technically it's pastel) and Jaehee's color accent is more of a coffee brown, you know? So, I decided on Rika in the end. I'd like to tell you how I feel about her. Hear me out: I hated her just like everybody else in the fandom and I still can't excuse her behavior whatever her "reasons" are. Of course, probably every criminal has a reason for their actions, they probably have deceases and/or were bullied and shit, but if we will be forgiving everyone, we're honestly doomed as a society, HOWEVER... The game more or less explained Rika's story and actions and I managed to acknowledge, accept and move on from them. I will never forgive her, I disagree that she doesn't deserve a punishment, but I'm not mad with her anymore. She's a complicated character that I was never able to understand, but I could relate to her depression and questioning the world system. As I said, it still doesn't excuse her horrific God complex and what she's done, to me. I tried to grasp her personality and edited her with this awfully overused song, hope you like it!

I HAVE GONE THROUGH RIKA’S BEHIND STORY AND I HAVE THOUGHTS?!

*ahem* Sorry for yelling. *cracks knuckles*

I do have thoughts though (under read more bc spoilers).

Disclaimer before getting started: I am not a therapist, a psychologist, or a former abuse victim. I do know people who are former abuse victims, and even used to know an actual abuser (who I have not talked to in years). I do not claim to be an expert on domestic abuse because I am not one. Any personal thoughts in this post are speculation. I have also not played through V or Ray’s routes and thus will not be including those in this discussion.

So, we learn about Rika’s backstory in this installment. I think this is Cheritz’ answer to a Rika route, which I honestly think is the most appropriate way to provide Rika-centric content, considering her past as V’s abusive ex and currently being a cult leader.

We finally learn of Rika’s real name, which is Mina (or Serena as given by her adoptive mother). I honestly was so confused at first when I saw Mika and thought that SHE was Rika. Doesn’t help that they look similar, but I suppose that was intentional. It’s very clear that Rika had a pretty awful childhood: abusive and very indoctrinated mother, distant father, and a molesting priest. She never felt that she was capable of being a good person, likely because there were adults who kept reinforcing the idea that the devil lived inside of her.

In regards to her childhood, I feel very bad for her. No child deserves to grow up like that. However, regarding some things in her adult life, I have to remember that this is only HER perspective, and I don’t know that it is a truly unbiased account of what happened. My interpretation is that she’s trying to avoid taking responsibility for the bad things she does in the course of the main story by saying, “Well, I’m just a dark person who’s drawn to helpless people.” There’s explanations, and then there’s excuses.

Speaking of being drawn to helpless people, I find it interesting but also unsettling that Rika was drawn to Saeyoung and Saeran because they were helpless, and not because of the content of their character. She also felt uncomfortable around Yoosung because he wasn’t helpless and was an actual beacon of light, and purely enjoyed her company and looked up to her. It kind of makes me realize just how one sided their relationship may have been.

And of course, there is the topic of Mika’s illness... that is, eye cancer. Notice how this is about eyes. I assume by the time the original story has started that Mika has passed away due to her eye cancer. Sally gets hit by a car because she had cataracts... another eye condition. She lost both her best friend and her dog because of eye conditions. Makes me wonder if (at least part of) the reason she attacked V’s eyes is either she thought she was already losing V or she wanted to get him away from her, and blinded him in order to mentally/emotionally finalize it. This is also relevant to Yoosung’s route because it’s about him moving on from Rika... and y’all know what happens in his good end...

At the end of the day, while she may not have always been a bad person, she has definitely become so. And yes, Mika did play a role in the creation of Mint Eye, but I at least couldn’t determine what kind of role she played in its creation. Rika’s actions in her adult life will never be able to be excused by her childhood or her inner thoughts. V gave her resources to overcome her trials, but Rika personally chose to let the darkness consume her when she no longer needed it to.

“Yoosung- - don’t you have class?” She began, bleary-eyed and wondering just what had brought–

And then she recalled her last login and her message to the RFA chatroom. She had mentioned that she had a stomach ache and might lie down for a bit. Of course, she had been flooded with concern and Jumin’s over the top mention of flying a gastrologist to her house had been completely shot down. He was well-meaning but had more money than sense at times. Especially when he was already asking Jaehee to book her in for some urgent scan or other.

Mina had to spend the majority of her time on the chatroom reassuring them it was completely normal, she would be fine after she lay down and then logged out.

But come the morning, she found Yoosung, looking very concerned and carrying a bag full of over the counter medicine for all kinds of stomach pain.

“I– I‌ won’t puke… but really… this is too much. I’m not that sick,” she tried to reason with the boy until another sharp pain struck her belly.

“It’s just cramps, Yoosung. I’ll be fine.” Really, she was used to this pain but was not quite sure how to articulate this to the overly concerned young man.

But... for him to bring this bag, purchase all these things... even skip university just to find her- - 

“... Thank you for caring about me.”
