Five fan-made MST3K episodes. Movies riffed include Little Red Riding Hood from the man behind Santa Claus (the one with Pitch the demon). You can watch them here.
I've been revisiting Mystery Science Theatre 3000 with my partner recently. It's hard to describe, but I feel like we as a culture have lost an appreciation for truly bad movies.
If you see people talking about bad movies nowadays it's usually just incendiary takes to farm clicks. (e.g. "The new Star Wars is the worst movie ever") When I talk about loving bad movies I mean the truly awful movies. The movies so bad that they fail basic pacing and storytelling. Movies where you suddenly see all the seams of artifice holding everything together. Movies that aren't good but are shamelessly queer.
You can find a lot of MST3K for free online, and I highly recommend any of the Mike episodes (half of Season 5, and then season 6 onwards). You'll see what I mean.
If you want to watch just one, I'd recommend Season 9, episode 3, The Pumaman. It's an extremely cheap spaghetti superhero movie that features the far-too-talented-for-this Donald Pleasance as its villain.
The overwhelming URGE to horde MST3K related urls is strong... I have mikenelsondestroyerofworlds and currently gizmonic, gizmocratic, doctorforrester, and deep13 are free as a bird.
What If Bucky didn't become the Winter Soldier and was instead held captive on the Satellite of Love and was forced to watch Cheesy Movies in outer space with the help of his robot friends.
Up to the host segments of the last season 10 episode and...it's kinda sad in hindsight, Crow and Tom estactic they'll never have to go through another bad movie on the SOL again.
I mean, you were kinda right. 18 years you didn't have to.
Night of the terror trains!!! Well this isn't a movie I'm aware of at least, I haven't looked it up. I was visiting a train museum and taking photos upon my visit. I also love editing, I'm a photographer and editor as a hobbyist. Also a big fan of old sci-fi horror 50s-60s B movies.
On top of that I'm also a fan of MST3K so I thought it'd be fun to edit the photos to have that black and white sci-fi movie appeal. Throw on some titles, make it cheesy and add in our favorite trio.
