May I request headcanons of Reiner unwillingly falling for a fem s/o who’s part of the 104th cadet corps? And he tries to deny that he has fallen for her? Please and thank you!

Reiner Braun

Tbh, your first impression of Reiner wasn’t the best. He had a big mouth, was pretty aware about his abilities and looks, and liked to flirt with the girls.

And Reiner didn’t even notice you at first, until you had to team up with him for training. It was then when you learned that he was incredibly loyal, funny, and actually not bragging about his abilities. He was a damn good fighter.

The two of you get along very well on the training ground, killing many fake-titans together. While Reiner is strong and powerful, you are fast and good at targeting. Together you are invincible - well, at least during training.

After that, Reiner comes up to you more often and asks if you would train with him and Bertl. You agree, even though combat training with two boys of this stature can be pretty exhausting.

Eventually, you begin to hangout after training as well. You eat together, laugh together, you and Reiner play some pranks on Connie and Jean, and he even tells you everything about Bertl’s funny sleeping positions and what these can tell you about the weather.

Reiner and Bertl also tell you their origin story - of course the fake story about this village they came from and that was overrun by titans.

As usual for kids, you become friends faster than expected and grow older together during your military training.

Time passes by, and now you are reaching the end of your training years. And let’s just say that you and Reiner have...become close.

So close, actually, that Reiner is confused.

One night before your graduation ceremony, he sits with Bertl, chewing his lip and glancing over to you, who is sitting with Ymir and Historia.

“You are doing it again, Reiner…” “Doing what?” “You are staring at Y/N. Do you really wanna join the same group as she does? She has no chance going to the military police…” “Well, I don’t wanna go there either. I just...like...we are friends…”

It is the first time Bertl asks himself if Reiner had forgotten about their mission. But he plays along because he is a good friend.

Reiner, meanwhile, can’t get Bertl’s comments out of his mind. You and him were close, yes. But...what was that tingling feeling deep down in his stomach whenever he sees you? Why goes his throat dry while talking to you? Why does his heart skip a beat, when you pat his shoulder or back? And what is that reaction down there, when your shirt slips a little up your stomach during training?

Reiner is still sitting outside when you approach him, settling beside him into the grass. He is a bit startled at first, but a genuine smile stretches over his face.

“Hey Y/N, what brings me the honour?” “Just wanted to see if you are alright before we head out to Trost tomorrow. Why are you sitting here all on your own? Still thinking about which group you will join?” “Actually...yes.” Reiner smiles at you and continues. “You should have done more workout. So that we both could have had the chance to become MPs. But now I think I have to join the damn survey corps to keep an eye on you.”

Reiner is a little surprised that you won’t laugh at his remark, but give him a concerned look.

“Reiner… Don’t. You know I always wanted to go to the survey corps. I want to protect the people living inside the walls. So they won’t get killed like my family did…”

There is the pain in his head again. The guilt of him being the reason why you had brutally lost your family and so many friends. But the sad look on your face gets him back to reality.

“Y/N… Is it so wrong of me? Wishing to stay around you?” “If it means that you give up your safe place within the MP, yes. I don’t want that. You and Berthy, you trained so hard for this! I mean, we still can be friends and see each other from time to time…” “Well, but it’s hard to have a relationship when the two parts of it are working for different divisions.”

Reiner murmured the last sentence, but you could hear it clearly. And he is freaking out on the inside because he just confessed to you and why had he done it in such a blunt way? Oh right, because he was a blunt bastard sometimes.

The silence continues and Reiner was really considering to turn into a titan and run back to Marley, hiding somewhere in a cellar. But suddenly you got up and said his name.

You stand before him, looking down at him with that soft smile on your lips which he loved so much. “We will see.”

And with this words you kiss his lips, turn around and go to the women’s dorm, leaving behind a startled and happy Reiner.

The next day comes and Reiner feels all tingly. The two of you share looks during breakfast, but no one except for Bertl notices. He desperately wants to talk to you, but the morning is busy with preparations and soon enough you are on your way towards Trost.

On the way to the town, he tells Bertl what had happened last night and the tall boy is a bit taken aback. Being the rational part of their friendship, he knows that all of this has no future. But the happy look on Reiner’s face forces him to keep his doubts for himself. He couldn’t risk a dispute between them since they had a plan for today…

In Trost, Bertl has to remind Reiner of said plan, so that he cannot team-up with you. The rest of the day is history. The Colossal Titan destroys Wall Rose. Titans are flooding the city. Many cadets die. Marco gets killed by Reiner. Eren turns out to be a Titan and saves the day.

All throughout the day Reiner shoves away the thought of you, the thought of you being one of the smashed corpses in the streets… His head hurts again. What was this feeling, what was this voice inside of him.. Was he losing his mind? Bertl seemed to think so.

Fortunately, you made it out of Trost alive and Reiner is more than relieved. However, the look on your face keeps him away from just pulling you into his arms and kissing you. You look devastated.

Jean, Connie, and Sasha are with you, looking as heart-broken as you are. Jean tells him and Bertl what they already knew: Marco was dead. And all of you were devastated because the heart of your group just died a brutal death, which circumstances remain a mystery. Reiner’s head hurts again. Why was Marco dead?

So, all of you make it back to the cadet’s training base, but you don’t have much time to grieve or to talk. It is the evening when Erwin is holding a speech to win some cadets for the survey corps. It is chilling. And with all these things that had happened in Trost, many cadets left the place. But you stayed and so did Reiner and Bertl. Erwin welcomed all of you and then, then the two of you were finally able to talk.

Reiner came up to you, a loving look in his eyes, shrugging his shoulders.

“Well Y/N...hope you are not angry with me now. But I couldn’t just go to the MPs, quietly relaxing my balls. This is the right thing to do.”

You look up at him, your eyes still a little red from all the crying of the last days. You are not angry. You see the reason behind it. He was not doing it for you, he was doing it for humanity. At least, that is what you thought.

And for the first time in days Reiner sees a real, genuine smile on your face and his heart skips at least 3 beats.

“I am glad you are here.”

You wrap your arms around him and he pulls you close against his massive body, kissing the top of your head.

“Together we will bring all of those damn titans down, Reiner. We are a good team. And I know we will save this Island from all the dangers outside the wall.”

Reiner’s head hurts again. Yes…, he thought, yes we can do it. Can we?

Oof could I request one where this girl one day appeared out of nowhere with no memories and decided to join the survey corps (after the years of training and all that) but one day (where they are in that little cabbage and hange is training Eren you know around that time and it is know that bertl and Reiner are bad and all that) the reader regains her memories and she’s actually part of the group of Reiner Annie and bertl and she has to go at dawn without anyone noticing 1/2

Everyone was confused about Y/N not remembering her past. Hanji said that it was probably due to trama that caused amnesia. She had said there was the possibility that her memories would return one day.

They eventually got used to the bubbly girl not contributing to stories about her childhood. Y/N was a competent and loyal soldier. She had even managed to break through Captain Levi’s hard, stoic shell.

When her memories came back, she wished they hadn’t. She was a traitor. She had come to the walls with Reiner, Bertolt and Annie to steal the Founding Titan and destroy humanity inside. She knew that despite not wanting to, she had to go back, she couldn’t continue to deceive her friends, her comrades.

Captain Levi noticed Y/N change in mood at dinner. Her smile didn’t reach her gorgeous eyes. He noticed that she was just pushing the food around on her plate, making it appear as if she were eating. When she looked up to catch him watching her, he motioned for her to eat. The smile she gave him seemed sad.

He had noticed her cringe the last time Eren had transformed into his Titan form. At the time he has just dismissed it as disappointment in the failure. He wasn’t so sure that was the case anymore. There was something going on with her, and he needed to find out.

She made her move right before dawn. Taking only her cloak and a pack with a few pieces of bread and a water skin. Dressing quietly in the dark, she moved slowly to not disturb Mikasa, Sasha and Historia. Creeping down the stairs, she looks towards the Captain’s room. The darkness under the door seemed to suggest he was sleeping.

Slipping outside the remote cabin, she relaxed, thinking she was free when a voice came out of the darkness.

“Where are you running to?” She jumped and spun around to find Levi leaning against the side of the cabin, clinging to the shadows.

Stepping closer, he watched the emotions flash across her face. Happiness, sadness, resolve, bitterness and fear. She trembled as he came to stand before her, tipping her chin up to meet his grey inquiring eyes.

“Why?” Her eyes slid away, and he knew. She had regained her memories. She was running from something, but what he didn’t know. He took her arms and demanded “Y/N, talk to me!”

“I....can’t.” She whispered, tears pooling in her eyes.

“Bullshit, tell me what you are running from or to!” His harsh whisper seemed like a shout. His eyes bored into her, pleading for answers.

She relented. Pouring out the memories she had recovery, she felt Levi stiffen. By the time she had finished, his arms had dropped to hang loosely by his side and he eyes were wide.

“Did you help them...once you got here?” The question made her flinch.

“No. I didn’t.” He searched her face, looking for dishonesty. His frame relaxed as he determined that she was telling the truth.

“Y/N. Your past doesn’t matter. Don’t leave, stay.” She had never heard such earnesty in his voice before.

“Why? Why does it matter if I stay?” She noticed him blush slightly as his gaze slid uneasily away from her.

He cleared his throat and spoke so softly Y/N had to strain to hear him.

“I want....need you to stay. You make me feel.....things. Things I had forgotten I could. You matter to me, Y/N. Please, stay.” He turned back to her and her breath caught when she saw the naked emotion in his eyes.

“Okay, Levi. I’ll stay. I won’t leave.” She stepped into his arms and felt the heartbeat drumming in his chest.

“You won’t regret it, Y/N. I promise you.”
